Theo Maude Davey, 73, of Lapeer, died Dec. 1, 2001.
She was born July 4, 1928, in Silverwood, to George and Stella (Robinson) Kelch. She married Clyde William Davey.
Mrs. Davey's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her whole life.
She is survived by her son, William George (D'Ann Sabada-Davey) of Lapeer; daughter, Dianne Lynn Carr of Lapeer; grandchildren, Michelle (Steven) DuBose, Loren and Michael; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Jordyn and Jenna DuBose; brother, Allan (Grace) Kelch of Lapeer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde William Davey in 1974; parents; siblings, Clarence, Glenn, Orville, Harold, William, Claude, Jess, Ivan, Doris, Ruth and Cleo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
A memorial service was held Wednesday (Dec. 5, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Rev. Mary Margaret Eckert officiated.

Diana Di Crookedacre, 40, of Lapeer, died Dec. 1, 2001.
She was born June 21, 1961, in Lapeer, to Earl and Linda (Cranick) Crookedacre.
Di was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and granddaughter. She was especially fond of her nephews, Cody and Cyle. She enjoyed yard work, gardening and plastic canvas needlepoint. She had been active as a leader and day camp director in the Girl Scouts for the past 16 years. She had also been an organizer and consultant for Seaton Elementary School.
She is survived by her mother, Linda of Lapeer; brother, Gordy (Tammy) of Lapeer; nephews, Cody and Cyle; grandmother, Olga Cranick of Lapeer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Crookedacre in 1986; grandparents, Marvin Cranick, Earl John Crookedacre, Beatrice Gerhart; great-great-grandmother, Hattie Crookedacre.
Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice or Fairwinds Girl Scout Counsel.
Funeral services were held Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Minister Raymond Barr officiated. Burial was in Lum cemetery, Lum.

Sophie Julia Rieser

Sophie Julia Rieser, 95, of Lapeer (formerly of Berkley), died Nov. 29, 2001.
She was born Jan. 6, 1906, in Warsaw, Poland, to Ludwig and Josephine (Lukasewicz) Badura. She married Roderick W. Rieser Sr. on June 28, 1946.
Mrs. Rieser was active in the Metro Detroit area on several committees including the American Lung Association, Project Hope, Salvation Army and Boys and Girls Club. She was a member of the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak.
She is survived by her husband, Roderick W. Sr. of Lapeer; children, Roderick Rick Jr. of Lapeer, Barb (Thomas) LaViolette of Lapeer; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Stella Zanto of Washburn, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Charles, Joe and Mary.

John A. Leko Sr.

Almont
John A. Leko Sr., 73, of Almont, died Thursday (Nov. 29, 2001) at William Beaumont Hospital, Troy.
He was born Nov. 5, 1928, in Hazel Park, to Michael and Eleanor (Kitchen) Leko.
He married Frances Rogers in Angola, Ind. on Nov. 11, 1948.
He graduated from Hazel Park High School. John retired in 1980 from Chrysler Corporation and was a member of St. Augustine Lutheran Church in Troy. He loved gardening, landscaping, carpentry and was an avid fisherman. He leaves his family behind to mourn.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; sons, John Jr. (Marie) of Rochester and David (Janet) of Brooksville, Fla.; grandchildren, John, Mandy, Melissa (Kevin) Schafer, Adam and Christopher; his twin brother, William of Grawn; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael, Steve and Fred; and sister, Frances Fura.
Funeral services were held Monday (Dec. 3, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Almont. Rev. John R. Monson of St. Augustine Lutheran Church, Troy officiated. Burial was in West Berlin cemetery, Allenton.

Henry John Adams

Zephyrhills, Fla.
Henry John Adams Jr., 76 of Zephyrhills, Fla. (formerly of Lapeer), died Nov. 28, 2001 at Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City.
Henry was a Lapeer native who moved to Zephyrhills, Fla. 30 years ago from Minnesota. He had been a Congressional Investigator for the United States military. He was also a U.S. Air Force Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine of Zephyrhills, Fla.; sons, Robert J. of Bushnell, Fla., Julius D. of Big Lake, Minn.; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother Edwin G. of Lapeer; sisters, Emily Dimagio of Almont and Florence Jane Blonde of Farmington.
Funeral services have already taken place. Burial was in the National cemetery in Bushnell.

Meredith M. Candela, 79, of Otter Lake, died Wednesday (Nov. 28, 2001), at Lapeer Regional Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Fostoria, to Alfred and Lottie (Mastin) Lumley. She married Joseph Candela in 1940.
She was a member of the Otter Lake Methodist Church, the Otter Lake Literary Club, the United Methodist Women's Organization. She loved to sew and make crafts, some of her works were published. Her family will cherish her memory.
She is survived by her sons, Vincent (Janice) of Kalamazoo, Joseph Jr., (Jill) of Millington; grandsons, Kevin, Christopher, Joseph, James; brother, Don Lumley of Millington and Florida; sisters, Marvel Cremer of Fostoria, Pearl Peabody of West Branch; several nieces, nephews and her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Candela in July 1988; brothers, Bill and Lawrence; sisters, LeIla, Irene and Cleo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Otter Lake Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday (Dec. 1, 2001) at the Otter Lake Methodist Church. Pastor Dorothy Rossman officiated. Burial was in the Otter Lake cemetery.

Gladys Viola Johnson, 81, of Oxford (formerly of Farmington Hills and Detroit), died Monday (Nov. 26, 2001) at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich.
She was born May 10, 1920, in Hawarden, Iowa, to Emil A. and Angel Freda (Sprecht) Lee. She married Maurice R. Johnson in LeMars, Iowa, on May 30, 1939.
Mrs. Johnson was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and wife. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Detroit. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Ronald L. (Janet) Lee of Jensen Beach, Fla., Carolyn R. (Allen) Eckhoff of Owosso and Sandra K. (Robert) Nickora of Lapeer; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank Lee of California, Ray (Dorothy) Lee of Sheldon, Iowa and Eugne (Alice) Lee of Mt. Ida, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice in 1991; her parents, Emil A. and Freda (Sprecht) Lee; and her sister, Wilma.

Edwin Russell Brown, 94, of Imlay City, died Monday (Nov. 26, 2001), at Lapeer Regional Hospital.
He was born Oct. 16, 1907, in Lakawana, N.Y., to George and Margaret (Cartin) Brown. He married Marie Rose Wilczynski in Detroit on June 11, 1930.
Edwin was employed as a Roofer. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Carpenter's Union.
He is survived by his daughters, Alice (Bryson) Cutlip of Brown City, Joan of Imlay City, Sharon of Imlay City, Carol Priestap of Ann Arbor, Nora (Wallace II) Wallington of Lapeer, Maureen (Richard) Granata of Imlay City, Elaine (Anthony) Kircus of Attica, Barbara (Richard) Battani of Ray Center; sons, Edwin of Lexington, Eugene (Pat) of Imlay City, Dennis (Pat) of Imlay City, Daniel (Martha) of Washington, Gerald (Jill) of Washington; 73 grandchildren, 138 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Rose Brown in 1997; grandchildren, Dennis, Stephen, Gia Granata and Joey Washington; 4 sisters and 7 brothers.
Funeral services were held Friday (Nov. 30, 2001) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Imlay City. Father Ezequiel Mondragon officiated. Burial was in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Imlay City.
