Satellite Beach, Fla.

Sally Theresa Kowalski, 82, of Satellite Beach, Fla., died Oct. 14, 2001.

She was born Oct. 15, 1918, in Hamtramck, to Anthony and Theresa (Bernas) Kowalski.

Sally lived in Florida for the past 30 years. She was self-employed as the owner of a motel in Port Huron and an apartment house in Imlay City. She was a former parishioner of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Imlay City.

She is survived by her brothers, Jerome (Janet) of Grand Blanc, Anthony Jr. of Attica, Arthur (Vera) of San Diego, Calif., Daniel (Rhonda) of Lake Orion, Gabriel (Cathy) of Metamora, Joseph (Esther) of Satellite Beach, Fla.; sister, Joan Chick of Satellite Beach, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday (Oct. 19, 2001) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Imlay City. Father John F. Dunn and Father Ezequiel Mondragon officiated. Burial was in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Imlay City.

Arrangements by Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City.

Daniel M. Treece
Died: Friday, October 12, 2001
Age: 92

Lapeer

Daniel M. Treece, 92, of Lapeer (formerly of Pontiac), died Friday (Oct. 12, 2001).

He was born in Caruthersville, Mo., to John L. and Trummie (New) Treece. He married Elsie L. Duncan on Oct. 9, 1933.

Mr. Treece worked for General Motors Truck and Bus Group for 43 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Silver Lake Church of the Nazarene (formerly Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene).

He is survived by his daughters, Anita Douglas of Pontiac, Joan Anderson of Altadena, Calif., Paula (Michael) Mathews of Gold Canyon, Ariz., and Linda (Nickolas) Gerard of Waterford; sons, Marvin of Pontiac, James (Beth) of Medina, Ohio, Charles (Bernadette) of Lapeer and Floyd (Darnell) of Fort Branch, Ind.; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcella (Mack) Cross of Portageville, Mo., Christine (James) Cross of Hayti, Mo., Helen (James) Worley of Hot Springs, Ark. and Norma Wagner of Holly; brother, Harry of Hayti, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; 7 siblings and his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to Suncrest Auxiliary or The Silver Lake Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral services were held Tuesday (Oct. 16, 2001) at the Silver Lake Church of the Nazarene. Pastor P. L. Liddell officiated. Burial was in Ottawa Park cemetery, Clarkston.

Betty Jean Felton
Died: Wednesday, October 10, 2001
Age: 68

Marlette

Betty Jean Felton, 68, of Marlette, died Oct. 10, 2001 at Marlette Community Hospital.

She was born June 10, 1933, in Attica, to John and Sylvia (Conner) Felton.

She had lived in Attica, Pontiac, Hadley and then Marlette for the past 2 years. She was a member of the Imlay City High School graduating class of 1951.

She is survived by her brothers, Charley of Attica, Wesley (Janet) of Columbiaville; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Bagley.

A graveside memorial service was held Monday (Oct. 15, 2001) at Attica cemetery . Pastor Cliff Schroeder officiated.

Glenn T. Willett
Died: Monday, October 08, 2001
Age: 50

Lapeer

Glenn T. Willett, 50, of Lapeer (formerly of Berkley), died Oct. 8, 2001.

He was born Aug. 8, 1951, to Wilber and Jessie Evelyn (Sweet) Willett. He married Joanne Ladd, in Royal Oak, at the First United Methodist Church on Aug. 15, 1969.

Mr. Willett was a hoist operator for Chrysler Corporation, retiring after 27 years. Glenn coached baseball, enjoyed bowling and was an avid sports enthusiast. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne of Lapeer; children, Glenn (Denise) of Lapeer, Denise of Lapeer, Jenny (Fiancˇ Michael Downes) of Imlay City, Sarah of Lapeer; grandchildren, Michael and Collin; siblings, Joyce (Tony) Kanan, Robert (Penney), Dale (Lois); and aunt Ruth Butler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilber and J. Evelyn (Sweet) Willett.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan.

Memorial services were held Saturday (Oct. 13, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Pastor Robert Lewis officiated.

Antoinette C. Weinzierl
Died: Sunday, October 07, 2001
Age: 92

Millington

Antoinette C. Weinzierl, 92, of Millington (formerly of Houghton Lake), died Sunday (Oct. 7, 2001) at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.

She was born May 23, 1909 in Ville Marie Quebec, Canada, to Peter and Georgianna (DuCharme) Preville. She married Richard Weinzierl on Feb. 15, 1927

She lived most of her adult life in Millington until moving to Houghton Lake in 1970.

Antoinette was a member of St. Frances X Cabrini Catholic Church of Vassar, formerly a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church of Millington and a member of the Lapeer American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #16. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving family.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Bob (Lois) of Millington, Dale (Sue) of Millington, Leo (Beverly) of Mayville; daughters, Betty Kreis of Lapeer, Dorothy Alexander of Flint, Delores (Marvin) Cranick of Fairgrove; sister, Bernadette Hamper of Flint; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard on July 31, 1992; 2 sisters, 1 brother; and a granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Suncrest Nursing Home or to the Lions Club.

Visitation will be held 1-9 p.m., Wednesday (Oct. 10, 2001) at Hanlin Funeral Home, Millington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Thursday (Oct. 11, 2001) at the Hanlin Funeral home, Millington. Father John Ederer will officiate. Burial will be in the Watertown Twp., cemetery, Fostoria.

Irvine E. Wheeler
Died: Saturday, October 06, 2001
Age: 83

Ava, Mo.

Irvine E. Wheeler, 83 of Ava, Mo., died Saturday (Oct. 6, 2001) in Rochester.

He was born April 24, 1918, in Imlay City, to Edgar and Hattie (Nelson) Wheeler.

He married Helen D'Arcy at Beulah Church of the Nazarene on June 2, 1942.

He retired from National Twist Drill completing 27 years of service and more recently sold long life light bulbs to farmers in the Thumb Area. Irvine was a very active member of the Highway Church of the Nazarene in Mo. He enjoyed fishing and reading. Irvine went home to be with the lord. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.

He is survived by his precious wife of 58 years, Helen; children, Donald (Alma) of Columbiaville., Dr. Dale (Connie) of Mo.; grandchildren, Donalee (Brian) Zender, Melanie (Don) Grubbs, Dan and Dennis Kelley, Tim (Pam), Mindy (Gary) McInally, Tina (Troy) Rejda, Patrick (Teresa), Heather (friend, Craig), Benjamin (friend, Francetta); special great-grandchildren, Josh, Rachel, Amy, Scottie, Jade, Paige, Cheyanne, Tommy, Chris, Tim, Ian, Sammi, Sierra, Noah, Nicole and Alex; brothers, Maurice (Lela) of Evart, Neal of Imlay City, Nelson (Norma) of Indiana; sister, Helen Smith of Lapeer; sister-in-law, Nancy of Flushing.

He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas; grandson, Grant and brother, Lester.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon's.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday (Oct. 10, 2001) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Lapeer. Rev. Dustin Ledford and Rev. Gomez will officiate. Burial will be in the West Lawn cemetery, North Branch.

Evelyn L. Lemon
Died: Saturday, October 06, 2001
Age: 78

Lapeer

Evelyn L. Lemon, 78, of Lapeer (formerly of Mayville and Detroit) died Saturday (Oct. 6, 2001).

She was born Dec. 3, 1922, in North Branch, to Ray and Lucy (McInnes) Mowatt. She married James Bob Lemon in Detroit on Sept. 1, 1954.

Evelyn and Bob resided in Detroit, until his retirement in 1972, when they moved to the Millington/Mayville area. In 1984 they moved to Silver Maple Village in Lapeer. She had worked at the Wilson Foundry and Machine Shop in Pontiac 10 years, until it closed in 1954. In 1960 she worked at Rubber and Plastics Co. in Detroit, the last 6 years as office clerk and 3 years as buyer, leaving in 1971 because of ill health. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and Missionary Society at church. She formerly attended the North Branch and Lapeer Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by her husband, James Bob of Lapeer; daughter, Darlene (Jim) Burns of Hale; sister, Elizabeth Doe of Oklahoma; step-daughter, Janet (Jim) Trudeau of Howell; step-sons, James (Connie) Jr. of Clio, and Jerry of Belleville; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Francis Friday and Hugh Mowatt; sister, Ilah Patrick; grandson, Barry LaValley; great-granddaughter, Ashley; step-daughters, Marilyn, and Joan Schoneman.

Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice or the American Lung Association.

Funeral services were held Tuesday (Oct. 9, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Pastor Martin Bigley officiated. Burial was in Watertown Center Township cemetery, Fostoria.

William Harrison Chaney
Died: Saturday, October 06, 2001
Age: 59

Dryden

William Harrison Chaney, 59, of Dryden, died Saturday (Oct. 6, 2001) at Mt. Clemens Hospital.

He was born Nov. 27, 1941, in Breathitt Co., Ky., to John and Maye (Richardson) Chaney. He married Joy Susan Jones in Imlay City on Sept. 20, 1986.

He had been employed by General Motors at the GM Tech Center in Warren for 35 years in Senior Maintenance.

He is survived by his wife, Susan of Dryden; daughters, Kathy of Almont, Nancy of Almont; step-daughter, Andrea (Chris) Stocker of Washington, MI; sons, William Jr., of Oscoda, Thomas (Trina) of Romeo, Mickey of Almont, Wesley of Dryden; step-son, Guy Bennett of Dryden; grandchildren, Cory, Alan, Dakota, Shianne Calkins, Hannah and Garrett Bennett; mother-in-law, Susie Jones; sister, Nannie (Randy) Adkins of Florence, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maye; sisters, Imogene White and Emily White; and brother Oscar.

Funeral services were held Monday (Oct. 8, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City. Burial was in Dryden Center cemetery, Dryden.
