Jeanette M. Gillingham, 75, of Lapeer (formerly of Royal Oak), died Monday (Oct. 22, 2001).
She was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Ashtabula, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband, William; daughters, Nylia June (Jon) Stewart, Darlene Marie (Marc) Hufford and Janet Margaret (John Koss) Warner; grandchildren, Charles, Vance and Lisa; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Caleb and Tessa.
Visitation will be held 3-8 p.m., Wednesday (Oct. 24, 2001) at the Kinsey-Garret Funeral Home, Inc., Royal Oak.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday (Oct. 25, 2001) at Kinsey-Garret Funeral Home, Inc., 420 S. Lafayette, Royal Oak. Burial will be in Oakview cemetery.

Zerua P. McNiel, 75, of North Branch, died Sunday (Oct. 21, 2001) at Lapeer County Medical Facility.
She was born April 7, 1926, in Flint, to Herbert and Zerua (Tredwell) Dean.
She is survived by her children, Rickey (John) Peabody of Iowa, Cathleen Heuvelmann of Iowa, Terry (Ann) of Marion, Veronica Swanick of Otisville, Esther (Ron) Miller of Harrison, Delphine (Terry) Wilson of North Branch, Rae Deane (Denny) McCalmon of Otisville; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Frederick Dean of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday (Oct. 24, 2001) at the Otisville Assembly of God. Pastor Curt Phipps will officiate. Cremation to follow the service at Sunset Hills Crematory.

Allen L. Harley, 33, of Lapeer, died Saturday (Oct. 20, 2001).
He was born July 13, 1968, in Lapeer, to Douglas and Laura (Laurel) Driscoll.
Allen attended Lapeer East High School. He was an avid sportsman and loved trivia. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
He is survived by his children, Jacob and Hannah; brothers, Gary (Joann) of Lapeer and David (Jeri Ann) of Lapeer; nieces and nephews, Heather, Jennifer, Holly, Gemi, Michelle and Jason.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Harley.

Jean D. Hagerty, 82, of Lapeer (formerly of the Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla., area) died Thursday (Oct. 18, 2001).
She was born April 23, 1919, in Marquette, to Charles and Maude (Ellis) Rutledge. She married James E. Hagerty in Royal Oak on Oct. 12, 1939.
Mrs. Hagerty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. The family would like to extend a very special thank you for the loving care provided by the folks at Heartland Hospice and Suncrest.
She is survived by her husband James of Lapeer; daughter, Carole (Paul) Johnson of Metamora; sons, James (Chris) of California, Larry (Diane) of Dearborn, Robert of Brighton; seven grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy (Mary) Rutledge of Florida, Jack Rutledge of Florida; 6 nieces and 5 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Hagerty; parents and brother, Melvin Rutledge.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Flint or Suncrest of Lapeer.
Funeral services were held Sunday (Oct. 21, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Rev. Nick Worden officiated. Cremation followed the service.

Allen Bjornson

Allen Al Bjornson, 74, of Fostoria and North Branch (formerly of Mount Clemens), died Oct. 16, 2001.
He was born July 11, 1927, to Lawrence and Hazel (Hibbert) Bjornson. He married Elaine Stroh in Utica on April 11, 1960.
Mr. Bjornson served his country in the United States Air Force and was a member of AMVETS. Al was a police officer on the Macomb County Sheriffs Mounted Division.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; son, Allen (Sabrina) of North Branch; grandchildren, Brie, Kristina and Nickohl; brother, Ray (Helen) of Arizona; sister in-law, Ann.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Funeral services were held Saturday (Oct. 20, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer, with a military service under the auspices of American Legion Post 16 Honor Guard. Pastor Peter DeKlerk officiated.

William G. Powell, 73, of North Branch, died Oct. 16, 2001.
He was born Jan. 20, 1928, in Pontiac, to Otis and Vera (Hasken) Powell. He married Mavis Arms in Lapeer on July 29, 1950.
He had been a plumber, working at Metamora Hardware for 25 years before retiring in 1982.
He is survived by his children, Roger (Linda) of North Branch, Fay (Gary) Perria of Lapeer, Mark (Debbie) of Lapeer, David (Sherie) of Mayville and Marvin (Norine) of North Branch; 12 grandchildren; brothers Churchhill and Jerry (Mary); sisters, Virginia (Harold) Cook, Iletha Crotteau, Betty Brauer, Rose (Bruce) Middleton and Sue (Ken) Geoit.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis in 1997; brothers, Otis (Junior), Dick, Erving and Earl.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services were held Saturday (Oct. 20, 2001) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Lapeer. Rev. Gary Perria officiated. Burial was in Stiles cemetery, Lapeer.
