George W. Richards, 68, of Flint, died Sunday (Dec. 16, 2001) at McLaren Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 9, 1933, in Rich Twp., to Lawrence E. and Edwina M. (Behringer) Richards. He married Roberta S. Skau in Maryland on Feb. 27, 1953.
Mr. Richards was a truck driver for Mead Corp. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, during the Korean War. A special thanks to the Genesee Valley Agency on Aging.
He is survived by his children, Teresa of Colorado, Kathy (Dennis) Kline of Flint, Paul (Deb) of North Branch, Mike (Lori) of Flint, Celeste Sweet of Flint; mother, Edwina Turner of Grand Blanc; brothers, Ernest (Harriet) of Byron, Daniel (Rosa) of Sebewaing; sisters, Florence (Ross) Smith of Croswell, Dorothy (Norman) Foster of Grand Blanc, Ella (Delbert) Ronk of Grand Blanc, Donna (Bob) Perry of Durand and Effie Randel of Caro; step-brother, Jim Turner of Grand Blanc; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta on April 11, 1987.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
Funeral services were held Tuesday (Dec. 18, 2001) at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Fr. James B. Bettendorf officiated. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, Grand Blanc. With a military graveside service with honors under the auspices of the Davison Post #4087, V.F.W.

James E. McCumons, 71, of Burnside Twp., died Sunday (Dec. 16, 2001) in Lapeer.
He was born Dec. 12, 1930, in Marlette, to Preston and Irene McCumons. He married Carol Dawson on May 9, 1992.
He attended South Muck Country School and graduated from Brown City High School Class of 1949. He was a farmer in Flynn Twp. for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Omard United Methodist Church. His hobbies were hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Bruce (Pam), Eugene, Brian (Betty) and Chuck (Molly); daughters, Sandra (Luke) Engler, Carol Lynn (Jim) Bates; grandchildren, Jay (Michelle) Stull, Scott, Jessica Gillam, Tiffany Gillam, Preston, Erin, Allison, Bryce, Bradley Bates, Ryan Bates, Nicole Bates; great-granddaughter, Adriana Stull; sisters, Betty Middler, Gene (Robert) Burgess and Joan (Everett) Bell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly in 1984; grandson, Joshua McCumons; brothers, Jack, Bob, Bill and Don.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday (Dec. 19, 2001) at Carman Funeral Home, Brown City. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Elmer Muxlow

Old Town, Fla.
Elmer Muxlow, 92, of Old Town, Fla. (formerly of Brown City), died Saturday Dec. 15, 2001.
He was born Jan. 28, 1909 to Isaac and Grace (Harris) Muxlow. He married Katie Iva Crake in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was the first born son to his parents. He went to be with his Lord Jesus and to be met in Glory by his daughters. Elmer and Grace were married for 72 years. He lived most of his life in the Brown City Area. Elmer had been employed by Great Lakes Trailer Co. in Marlette as a welder before retiring in the early 1970's. He was a member of North Goodland Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Katie of Old Town, Fla.; daughters, Corrine (Bill) Dietz of Indian River, Shirley (Fay) Riggleman of Lake Orion; sons, Kenneth (Sara) of Greenville, S.C., Donald (Hilda) of Lapeer, Dennis (Su) of Port Huron, Harold (Cindy) of North Port, Fla.; son-in-law, Wilbert (Bernie) Kalbfleisch of Imlay City; Lewis (Melva) of Imlay City; sisters, Leona McCulloch of Peck, Leota Hart of Caseville, Zella (Fred) Dalton of S.C.; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Patricia Schell in 1984 and Norma Kalbfleisch in 1999; brothers, Sheldon Pete and Lawrence.
Visitation will be held 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m., Friday (Dec. 21, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday (Dec. 22, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City. Rev. Donald Krohn and Rev. Thomas Blount will officiate. Burial will be in Burnside cemetery, Brown City.

Samuel A. Kuzoff

Lapeer
Samuel A. Kuzoff, 68, of Lapeer (formerly of Dearborn), died Thursday (Dec. 13, 2001) at Lapeer Regional Hospital.
He was born April 5, 1933, in Lorain, Ohio, to Daniel and Shauna (Matchoff) Kuzoff. He married Cheryl Wilkins on Feb. 25, 1978.
Samuel served with the U.S. Air Force. Early in his career, he spent 5 years working for Boeing in Seattle, Wash. as an Aeronautical Engineer. After being laid off from Boeing, he worked at N.A.S.A. for the Man To The Moon Project, in Huntsville Ala., until he was laid off again. He worked as a Product Design Engineer at Ford, retiring in 1999 after 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Clement's Orthodox Church, Dearborn and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Shriners and the 32nd Degree.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; son, Mark of Lapeer; brother, George (Marjorie).
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.
Funeral services were held Tuesday (Dec. 18, 2001) at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Burton. The Very Rev. P. Pamukov and Rev. Fr. Michael Arbanas officiated. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, Grand Blanc.

Clarebelle (Reber) Miller

Lapeer
Clarebelle (Reber) Miller, 85, of Lapeer, died Tuesday (Dec. 11, 2001).
She was born Oct. 18, 1916. She married Harry George Reber on June 3, 1934.
She lived in Davison and the Lapeer area most of her life. She was a very gifted seamstress making beautiful doll clothes. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Georgia Lee Fry of Hubbard Lake, Dallas Reber of Lapeer, Bonnie (Robert) White of Hubbard Lake, Helen (Stan) Keupper of Escanaba, David Reber of Lapeer, Gregory Reber of Lapeer and Mark (Doris) Reber of Lapeer; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was peceded in death by her husband, Harry George Reber.

Elizabeth Ann Toole

Elizabeth Ann Toole, 68, of Attica, died Monday (Dec. 10, 2001).
She was born April 10, 1933, in Ann Arbor, to Arnault and Phyllis (Boshaw) Hoisington. She married Raymond Toole in Flint on July 9, 1959.
She was a graduate of Lapeer High School, class of 1950. She had been employed as a Clothing Supply Clerk at Oakdale for 32 years before retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Lapeer.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond of Attica; daughters, LeRae (Fred) Mainville of Lapeer, Phyllis of Attica; son, Jeffery (Susan) of Imlay City; grandchildren, Jeffery Jr., Elizabeth, Rachel and Keith; step-grandchildren, Laura and Rene; great-grandchild, Kierra; sister, Gloria (Richard) Howe of Almont; special friend, Lela Green of Port Huron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnault and Phyllis Hoisington; and son, Charles.
Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday (Dec. 12, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday (Dec. 13, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City. Rev. Paul Parker will officiate. Burial will be in the Attica Township cemetery, Attica.

Allan Duane Spalding

Allan Duane Spalding, 56, of Linden, died Dec. 9, 2001 in Holt.
He was born Nov. 23, 1945, in Almont, to Claude and Louise (Aldrich) Spalding.
Allan graduated in 1963 from Almont High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Lansing for 27 years. He was a member of the Aquarium Society of the Detroit Belle Isle Zoo. He enjoyed traveling and gardening.
He is survived by his mother, Louise of Almont; brothers, Douglas (Ann) of Linden, Stephen (Cindy) of Mancelona, Roger (Cathy) of Monroe; sisters, Kathleen (Steven) Dosh of Gladstone, Annette (Lawrence) Perrin of Romeo; 15 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude in 1999.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mauritz B. Massie

Mauritz B. Massie, 82, of Allenton, died Sunday (Dec. 9, 2001).
He was born May 5, 1919 to James and Ingrid (Bergeson) Massie. He married Marjorie (Kersten) McLaren in Capac on March 20, 1976.
He was a graduate of Almont High School and attended Michigan State University for agriculture. He had worked at Hurd Lock in Almont and the Tank Plant in Warren as well as farming all of his life in Berlin Twp. He attended West Berlin Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; children, Maureen (Al) Hollenbeck of Imlay City, Elaine (Norman) Bandemer of Ada, Karen (Steven) Glombowski of Allenton and David (Elayne) of Allenton; step-children, Mary (Wynn) Klug of Capac, Larry (Denise) McLaren of Port Huron and Gary (Diane) McLaren of Birch Run; grandchildren, Alana (Keith) Brocker, Melisa (Jeff) Clatterbaugh, James Glombowski, Jeff Glombowski, Norman Bandemer II, Marisa Bandemer, Aaron and Jared; 10 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Curtiss of Gobels; nephew, James; 1 great-nephew and 2 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet Mary Massie and his brother, Arnold.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday (Dec. 12, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Almont. Rev. Ralph Barteld of the West Berlin United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in West Berlin cemetery.
