Karen L. Staley, 42, of Live Oak, Fla. (formerly of Columbiaville), died April 1, 2002.
She was born Dec. 31, 1960, in Lapeer, to Richard G. and Mary L. Ross. She married Anthony Staley in Otisville in Nov. of 1979.
She graduated from LakeVille High School. She worked 15 years doing office work for Gold Kist in Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony; sons, Tony (Julie), Adam and Michael; mother, Mary L. Ross; brothers, Rick (Debra) Ross, Kevin (Michelle) Ross, Donald (Daynette) Ross; sister, Michele (Berto) Campos; several nieces and nephews; and family friend, Charley Felton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard G. Ross; grandparents, and father-in-law, Earl Staley.
Funeral services have taken place. The Rev. Ray Brown officiated. Burial was in Live Oak cemetery, Fla.
Martha Snover

Metamora
Martha Snover, 84, of Metamora, died Monday (April 1, 2002).
She was born October 30, 1917, to Otto and Jacobina (Flemke) Helwig, Sr. She married Carlton W. Snover.
She was a lifetime area resident. She was a postal clerk for the U.S. Post Office. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church and the Concordia Guild. She was also active in the Metamora Historical Society, Suncrest Auxiliary and the Metamora Library.
She is survived by her children, Carol Ann (Walter) Tamulis of Naples, Fla., Mary Snover of Frankenmuth, Lois (James) Snover Hanson of Holt; grandchildren, Kerry Henley, Kristin Tamulis; brothers, Harry (Alice) Helwig of Woodhaven, Herman (Marta) Helwig of Northville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Snover; parents; and siblings, Otto Helwig, Jr., Edmond Helwig, Gertrude Appel and Olga Pivitt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church or the Metamora Historical Society.
Visitation was Wednesday (April 3, 2002). Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday (April 4, 2002) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. John Schreiber will officiate. Burial will be in Metamora cemetery, Metamora.

Richard John Pincumbe

Clifford
Richard John Pinky Pincumbe, 67, of Clifford (formerly of Oxford), died Sunday (March 31, 2002). He was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Oxford, to Leon and Viletta (Tripp) Pincumbe. He married Vivian Joan Mersino at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oxford on June 1, 1957.
He worked at Avon Tube in Rochester for many years before moving to Clifford in 1978. There he opened his own business, Clifford Tube Co. He enjoyed the outdoors, being with family and golfing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian; children, Dawn (Dave), Cheryl (Jim), Richard Jr., Julie (Jim), Dale (Dionne), Wayne (Veronica), Connie (Ken), Pamela (Tico) and Ronald (Amie); siblings, Alice (Earl) Onalee, Doug, Joan (Del) and James; 20 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation wasWednesday (April 3, 2002) at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home, North Branch.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday (April 4, 2002) at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, North Branch. The Rev. Schmidberger will officiate.

Richard Moses

Richard Moses, 67, of Lapeer, died Sunday (March 31, 2002).
He was born Nov. 18, 1934, in Lapeer, to G. Earl and Esther (Brown) Moses. He married Gretchen Jagow in Lapeer on June 25, 1960.
He graduated from Lapeer High School in 1953. He served his country in the Army in Korea just after the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 4139 in Lapeer. He was a manufacturer's representative in the automotive industry for many years and a business manager at Toyota Motors. He was the past commodore of the Bark Shanty Sail Club in Port Sanilac. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lapeer.
He is survived by his wife, Gretchen of Lapeer; children, Molly (fiancee, Charles Brown) Moses of Washington D.C., and Ned (Kristine) Moses of Marco Island, Fla.; and brothers, Carl (Mary Ellen) Moses of Fla. and Alvin Moses of Lapeer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Isabelle.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sloan Kettering Cancer Research, St. Paul Lutheran Church Organ Fund or to McLaren Hospice.

Bruce E. Hosner

Bruce E. Hosner, 57, of Lapeer, died Sunday (March 31, 2002).
He was born Dec. 16, 1944, in Lapeer, to Bruce and Margaret (Thorsby) Hosner. He married Patricia Young.
He retired from General Motors in 2000. He loved people and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the trustee for the Lapeer Eagles, the original founder of Lake Nepessing Bass Club and belonged to the Shooting Stars Division of Camp Holaka for Handicapped Scouts.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; children, David, Dedra and Marlayna; grandchildren, John, Kari, Courtney, Brenden, Katie and Angel; father, Bruce Hosner; siblings, Dawn and David Wellington of Alger; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynnett in 1969; and mother, Margaret Hosner, in 1993.
Visitation was Wednesday (April 3, 2002) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Lapeer.
A final tribute service by Lapeer Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2427 was Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday (April 4, 2002) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Arnold will officiate. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park cemetery, Mount Morris.

Lester L. Dorner

Lester L. Dorner, 80, of Lapeer, died Sunday (March 31, 2002) at home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Clark County, Kan., to the late George and Susie (Kennedy) Dorner. He later married Mary Marie Lee in Columbiaville on Oct. 8, 1949.
He retired from Hackney Equipment of Lapeer after 40 years of service. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughter, Esther (Wayne) Freidig of North Dakota; grandsons, Casey and Joseph; brothers, George (Imogene) of Lapeer, Paul (Mary) of Columbiaville, Clifford (Margaret) of Penn; sister, Letha Campbell of Otter Lake.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the family.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday (April 4, 2002) at Jansen Family Funeral Home, Columbiaville. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Hazel A. Ostrom, 87, of Fostoria (formerly of Rexton), died Saturday (March 30, 2002).
She was born Oct. 11, 1914, in Birmingham, to Milton and Pearl (Bunyon) Drumheller. She married Harold Sylvester Ostrom.
She was a homemaker. She loved her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed word search, fishing, gardening and crocheted beautiful dolls.
She is survived by her children, Gordon (Carol) Ostrom of Oscoda, Gloralynn (Charles) LaBaron of Gladwin, Glenn (Muriel) Ostrom of Fostoria, Glenda (Joe) Guentte of Escanaba, Gerald (Jane) Ostrom of Clarkston; daughter-in-law, Darlene Ostrom of Holly; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon (Lorraine) Drumheller of Milford; and sisters-in-law, Maxine Drumheller of Waterford, Catherine Ostrom of Clio, Luella Ostrom of Saginaw, Edith Dupuis of Saginaw, Marge Ostrom of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gerry Ostrom and Thomas Ostrom.

Sabina Lasczyk, 88, of Metamora for 12 years, died Saturday (March 30, 2002).
She was born Nov. 23, 1913, in Clymea, Pa., to Alexander and Stella (Winsiewski) Lasczyk.
She worked for the Dodge Main Division of Chrysler Corp., retiring after 38 years. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lapeer. She enjoyed crafting.
She is survived by her sister, Irene (Joseph) Szwarc of Metamora; brother, Zenon Lasczyk of Lapeer; and 8 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Camillia Tralka.
Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice or Mass cards.
Funeral services were Wednesday (April 3, 2002) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lapeer. The Rev. Janusz Iwan officiated. Burial was in Mount Loretto cemetery, Lapeer.
