Shannon Melissa Abbott, 23, of Cadillac (formerly of North Branch and Roseville)died in an automobile accident in the early morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003.
She was born Sept. 18, 1980, in Detroit to Edward and Cynthia (Heine) Abbott.
She was engaged to be married to Ronald Steven Walker on Jan. 9, 2004.
He died with her as a result of the accident.
She was a full time student at Central Michigan University.
She majored in English literature and was working towards her teaching degree.
She liked to sing and dance.
She enjoyed the outdoors and camping.
She was a joy to be around and her love will be missed.
She is survived by her parents, Ed and Cynthia Abbott; siblings, Edward, Michele, Megan and Danielle; and nine nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ronald Abbott, in the spring of 2003.
A private memorial service was held.
Cremation has taken place.
Angeline M. Hammett Dahmer

Columbiaville
Angeline M. Hammett Dahmer, 87, of Columbiaville (formerly of Detroit) died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003.
She was born Aug.16, 1916, in Detroit to Gabriella Zolich Sharbatz.
She married Norman E. Hammett on Jan. 17, 1947.
After Norman’s death in 1976, she married Clarence Dahmer on March 25, 1983.
He died in 1993.
She worked 25 years in the turnstead division of General Motors.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She was a life member of the Lady’s Auxiliary of Lapeer’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4139.
She was also a proud member of the Croatian Society.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by her son, Norman R. (Karen) Hammett of Lapeer; granddaughters, Angeline Marie (Richard) Carr of Grand Blanc, Joyce Ann (Scott) Finch of Davison; great-
grandchildren, Brooke Dimond and Blake Dimond; brother, Steven (Doris) Sharbatz of Novi; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman E. Hammett; and second, Clarence Dahmer; mother, Gabriella Sharbatz; brother, Edward Sharbatz; and sister-in-law, Ruth Sharbatz.
Memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, in the form of mass cards.
Funeral service was Monday (Dec. 1) at Immaculate Conception Church.
The Rev. Janusz Iwan officiated.
Burial was in Stiles cemetery in Mayfield Township.

Harold Schuler
Died: Friday, November 28, 2003

Otter Lake
Harold “Hal” Schuler, 73, of Otter Lake (formerly of Lum), died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003.
He was born April 7, 1930, in Detroit to Rudolph and Martha (Willoper) Schuler.
He served in the Air Force.
He was a draftsman for the former Hudson’s in downtown Detroit and was an architect in the Lapeer area for many years.
He is survived by his children, Michael (fiancée, Lisa Lindauer) Schuler of Smith’s Creek, Kristina Ford of Saline, Linette Schuler of Oregon and Janet Schuler of Saline.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Martha Schuler; and sister, Gretchen Kaluza.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
A memorial wake was Wednesday (Dec. 3) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
Cremation has already taken place.
Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens- East.

Arthur L. Lawrence

Arthur L. Lawrence, 78, of Davison, (formerly of Ellsworth and Lapeer) died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003.
He was born on March 12, 1925, in Elba Township to Clyde and Leola (Moore) Lawrence.
He married Margaret Fish in Bowling Green, Ohio, in 1949.
They were married for over 50 years.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He was a policeman for the city of Lapeer during the 1950s.
He had attended the Elba United Methodist Church.
He was a tool maker at Fisher Body Division of General Motors in Grand Blanc for over 30 years, retiring in 1983.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lawrence of Davison; daughters, Vicki (Bob) Davy of SpringHill, Fla., Anne Lawrence of Lapeer and Sharon (Rich) Moore of Lapeer; son-in-law, Jim Hale of Lapeer; grandchildren, Vincent Makedonsky, Wendy (Eddie) Frazer, Jimmy (Helene) Hale, Drew Hale and Tyler Moore; great grandson, Zakary Frazer; siblings, Betty Butterfield of Lapeer, Peggy (Dale) Harris of Drummond Island, Jim (Betty) Lawrence of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Judy (Charlie) Hardenburg of Lapeer; sister-in-law, Billie Lawrence of Lapeer; and brother-in-law, Leon Tiffany of Lapeer.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Hale; parents, Clyde and Leola (Moore) Lawrence; and siblings, Fern Cook, Phyllis Gilpin, LillianTiffany and Bob Lawrence.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Funeral services were Tuesday (Dec. 2) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer.
The Rev. Jim Paige officiated.
Burial was in Bird cemetery in Elba Township.

Leonard Jerome Hudson

Leonard Hudson, 90, of Imlay City, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Ferguson Convalescent Home in Lapeer after a short illness.
He was born June 4, 1913, in Cheboygan to George and Alice (Eberhardt) Hudson.
He married Ann Marie Supp on Sept. 30, 1939, in Mason.
He grew up in Cheboygan and lived in Millington before moving to Imlay City in 1967.
He had been a self-employed commercial builder, contracted by Hamill Manufacturing in Washington Townshp to help construct that facility.
He also helped build the L&L Products building in Romeo and the Ligon Brothers building in Almont.
He is survived by his son, Jerry (Jean) Hudson of Imlay City; brother, Robert (Marge) Hudson of DeWitt; sister, Grace Kennedy of Flint; amd grandchildren, Christopher Hudson and Michael Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie Hudson on March 30, 1987; son, Tom G. Hudson; brother, Kenneth Hudson; and sisters, Helen Peterson, Eunice St. Amour and Dorothy Lewis.
Funeral services were Monday (Dec. 1) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City.
The Rev. Kevin Harbin of the Imlay City United Methodist Church officiated.
Burial was at the Imlay Township cemetery, Imlay City.

Jerry E. Rose, 59, of Attica (formerly of Royal Oak), died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003.
He was born Feb. 25, 1944, in Royal Oak to Robert and Erma (Whipple) Rose.
He married Sally Kay Nyman on Nov. 21, 1970, in Royal Oak.
He served in the Navy.
He was an electrician for Pontiac Motors Division of General Motors Corp. for 23 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sally K. Rose of Attica; lson, Derek Gordon Rose of Royal Oak; and brothers, Robert (Margaret) Rose Jr. of Warren and Bruce Rose of Royal Oak.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Erma (Whipple) Rose.
A memorial wake was Tuesday (Dec. 2). Cremation has taken place.
