Mark Boone, 28, of Fostoria, died Wednesday (Sept. 4, 2002).
He was born July 4, 1974, in Misawa Japan, to John and Jean (Elwart) Boone.
He is survived by his children, Destiny Burgess-Boone, Phillip Boone and Elizabeth Boone; step-children, Patricia Stockwell, Nathan Stockwell; fiancˇ, Tamara Stockwell of North Branch; father, John Boone of Fostoria; and sisters, Amy Boone of Waterford and Jill Boone of Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Boone in 2001.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Charles Tomas Kinney
Died: Sunday, September 01, 2002
Age: 48

Lapeer

Charles Tomas " Chuck" Kinney, 48, of Lapeer (formerly of Detroit), died Sunday (Sept. 1, 2002) at his daughter's home in Brownstown Township.
He was born March 10, 1954, in Detroit, to Edsel and Audrey (Cameron) Kinney. He married Tammy Fay in Utica on June 15, 1996.
He worked as a contractor when he was younger. He later became a tool-and-die journeyman and worked for T&W Tool and Die in Oak Park. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Church in Lapeer. He loved to make people laugh and liked being the main attraction during many gatherings of family and friends. He listened to all types of music, but especially loved to hear his sons sing. He loved to go hunting every year up north. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Kinney of Lapeer; children, Richard and Robert Fay of Lapeer, Matthew (Maria) Kinney of Tennessee, Widdie Caudill of Warren, Betty (Ritchie) Londorf of Brownstown Township, Julie Kinney of Warren, Jessie Osborn of Detroit, Tonya Kinney of Auburn Hills and Chris Caudill of Hamtramck; grandchildren, Dustin, Kyle, Dale, Krista, Myah, Joshua, Jessica, Alyssa, Ariel and Danielle; sisters, Lois "Sis" (Dan) Thorburn of Fife Lake, Carol (Chuck) Kurkowski and Cherry Davies of Warren; brother, Ray (Diane) Kelly of Detroit; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends, and his NA family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edsel and Audrey Kinney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tammy Kinney in care of Mary Croff-Wlodek, 206 Jacob Ridge, Lapeer MI 48446.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Wednesday (Sept. 4) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday (Sept. 5) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Gerald Sims will officiate. Cremation will follow.

Carole Marie Bashore
Died: Saturday, August 31, 2002
Age: 67

Apollo Beach, Fla.

Carole Marie Bashore, 67, of Apollo Beach, Fla. (formerly of Lapeer), died Aug. 31, 2002.
She was born Nov. 15, 1934, in Chicago, Ill. She married Lowell F. Bashore at Our Lady of La Salette in Berkely on May 12, 1956.
She was a long time resident of Lapeer. She had worked for Sea Ray Boats for many years. She was a member of the Lapeer County Players and loved to make people laugh. She was always a very loving and giving wife. Her greatest joy was her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Lowell; children, Kim (Michael) Nicholes of Lapeer, Timothy (Kay) Bashore of Lapeer, Shawn (Diane) Bashore of Lapeer and Lowell (Ann) Bashore Jr., of Lapeer; grandchildren, Scott (Sarah) Nicholes, Jason (Rebecca) Nicholes, Kelly (Clinton) Walker, Amy (Mark) Just, Shawn Bashore, Elizabeth Bashore and Austin Bashore; great-grandchildren, Ethan Nicholes, Grace Nicholes, Matthew Nicholes, Ryan Nicholes and Kiera Walker; brothers, Phillip Flemming of Oak Park and Jack (Lydia) Flemming of Royal Oak.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Alice Flemming.
In lieu of funeral services, a picnic and celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m., Saturday (Sept. 14) at the home of Lowell Bashore Jr., 1277 Roods Lake Road in Lapeer. ll family and friends are welcome to attend.

Thurston Tyrell
Died: Saturday, August 31, 2002
Age: 85

Durand

Thurston "Pete" Tyrrell, 85, of Durand, died Aug. 31, 2002.
He was born Nov. 24, 1916, in Lincoln Place, Penn., to Hugh and Viva Belle (Wells) Tyrrell. He married Myrtle Hawkins.
He was a mechanic, owned and operated the Sunoco Gas Station on M-24 north of Dryden Road. He graduated from Mount Morris High School, Class of 1935. He also graduated from Chicago Technical College with a Drafting Degree. He was a Scout Master in Elba. He served his country in the Army during World War II. He taught at Romeo Senior High School for 10 years, retiring, in 1986. He spent his last years in Owosso at the Kingswood Estate and the Durand Convalescent Center. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Sharon Tyrrell of Lennon; grandsons, Tom, Daniel, and Todd; three great-granddaughters; one niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Tyrrell; son, Jerry Tyrrell; parents and brother, Beverly Tyrrell.
Private burial services were in Flint Memorial Park cemetery, Flint.

Grace A. Nighswander
Died: Saturday, August 31, 2002
Age: 83

Lapeer

Grace A. Nighswander, 83, of Lapeer (formerly of Tecumseh), died Saturday (Aug. 31, 2002) at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility, Lapeer.
She was born Nov. 19, 1918, in Van Wert, Ohio, to Joshua and Maude (Evans) Harvey. She married Gilbert J. Nighswander on Oct. 8, 1941, in Coldwater.
She worked almost 25 years for GTE. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh and the Tecumseh Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by her husband, Gilbert; children, James (Barbara) Nighswander of Lapeer, Nancy Jo (Ernie) Mercer of Lapeer and Richard of Tecumseh; grandchildren, Andrew (Samandra) Nighswander, Peggy Holsinger, Tammy Jo (Steve) Anderson, Beverly Jo Parker and Janet (Tom) Allen; and 12 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Katherine, Brandy, Nicole, Mariah, Ashley, Laura, Michael, Kaylee Jo, Amber Jo, Stephanie Grace and Evan Timothy.
She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Timothy Marston and Michael Nighswander; five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were Wednesday (Sept. 4, 2002) at Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. The Rev. Doug Winter will officiate. Burial was in Brookside cemetery, Tecumseh.

Michael Gerald Bradford
Died: Friday, August 30, 2002
Age: 14

Lapeer

Michael Gerald Bradford, 14, of Lapeer, died Aug. 30, 2002 at the Fairview University Medical Center in Minnesota after a long illness and his second bone marrow transplant.
He was born Dec. 21, 1987, in Pontiac, to Michael and Denise (Coggins) Bradford.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lapeer. He dearly loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Denise Bradford; siblings, Ashley ,11, and Justin, 4; grandparents, Gerry and Susan Coggins and Bob and Janet Bradford; great-grandparents, Mildred Coggins, Cecelia Denver, and Amos Bowker; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Donors choice.
Funeral services were Wednesday (Sept. 4) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lapeer. The Rev. Janusz Iwan officiated. Burial was in Oxford cemetery, Oxford.

Andrea Jane Schall

Andrea Jane Schall, 23, of Otter Lake (formerly of Lapeer), died Friday (Aug. 30, 2002).
She was born Dec. 5, 1978, in Lapeer to Bruce and Mary (Tripp) Granger. She married Jason Schall on June 30, 2001 in Flint.
She was an inventory specialist at Meijer. She was a Lapeer East High School honors graduatein the Class of 1997. She was a member of the Tripp Family Sewing Circle and an honorary member of the L.C.A.R.A.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Schall of Otter Lake; parents, Bruce and Mary Granger of Lapeer; sister, Emily Granger of Lapeer; mother-in-law, Carol Schall of Mount Morris; father-in-law, Robert Schall of Marlette; grandparents, Julius and Roberta Martin of Mount Morris; brother-in-law, Jeromy Schall of Otter Lake; sister-in-law, Jamie Schall of Mount Morris; nephew, Dallas Schall; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kenneth and Thelma Tripp, and Gideon and Mary Jane Granger.
Funeral services were Tuesday (Sept. 3, 2002) at East Flint Church of the Nazarene, Flint. The Rev. Gerald Schalau officiated.

Kenneth Keith Koch
Died: Friday, August 30, 2002
Age: 52

Columbiaville

Kenneth Keith "Shaggy" Koch, 52, of Columbiaville, died Friday (Aug. 30, 2002).
He was born April 18, 1950 to Arnold and Rose Marie (Hartwick) Koch.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He had worked for Buick City Division of General Motors. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 599. He enjoyed gardening, lottery and the casinos.
He is survived by his children, Bonnie Koch of Chicago, Ill., William Koch of Grand Blanc and Amy Koch of Otter Lake; granddaughter, Elizabeth Koch; siblings, Robert (Eve) Koch, Edward (Twila) Koch, Monalee "Sue" (Jim) Clements, Shirley Koch, Nettie Dalton, Jackie (Tony) DeLaRosa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Funeral services were Tuesday (Sept. 3) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Randall Schultz officiated. Burial was in Green Corners cemetery, Hadley.
