Gerald E. Parsch

Gerald E. Parsch, 84, of Attica (lifelong resident), died Thursday (Sept. 12, 2002).
He was born Feb. 28, 1918, in Kings Mill, to Louis and Susan (Schlaud) Parsch. He married Mary Zaradny at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lapeer on June 12, 1948.
He was a loving and compassionate husband, father and grandfather, attending many of his grandchildren's sporting events. He particularly enjoyed their baseball games and also watching the Detroit Tigers. He had been a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for over 50 years, serving as an usher for many of those years. He was a farmer his entire life and a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association. He also worked for 21 years at the Oakdale Regional Center. He was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, former president of St. Vincent DePaul (Lapeer) and always enjoyed helping any person in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Attica; children, Jim (Rita) Parsch of Elkton, Patricia Parsch of Anchorage, Alaska, and Theresa (Gary) Dean of Holt; grandchildren, Erin (Brad) McIntyre, Christopher Parsch, Whitney Parsch, Gary Dean Jr. and Gabriel Dean; and many, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Louis Parsch; and siblings, Vincent Parsch, Rod Parsch, Al Parsch, Josephine Parsch and Marie Gaynor.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lapeer St. Vincent DePaul or Knights of Columbus.
Visitation was Sunday (Sept. 15) and 1-8 p.m. Monday (Sept. 16) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Lapeer. A rosary and K of C service will be 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 17) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. David Parsch will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Loretto cemetery, Lapeer.

Lucile Macksoud
Died: Thursday, September 12, 2002

Lapeer
Lucile Macksoud, 76, of Lapeer (formerly of Detroit), died Thursday (Sept. 12, 2002).
She was born Nov. 27, 1925.
She volunteered at the Citizen Probation Council and worked at Lapeer County Bank and Trust.
She is survived by her children, Ann Marie (Nubar) Cholakian of Macomb, Anthony (Linda) Macksoud of Lapeer, Fred (Judy) Macksoud of Roseville, Linda Macksoud-Youngblood of Lapeer, Joseph (Cora) Macksoud of Lapeer, Michael (Carol) Macksoud of Pennsylvania and John (Kristin) Macksoud of Clinton Township; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation was Sunday (Sept. 15) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
Funeral services were Monday (Sept. 16) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.

Leon R. Boruch
Died: Wednesday, September 11, 2002

Leon R. Boruch, M.D., 82, of Lapeer, died Wednesday (Sept. 11, 2002) at Lapeer Regional Hospital. He was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Chester, Pa., to Sawa and Mary (Dushka) Boruch. He married Olga Tomaszewski on Sept. 23, 1950.
He served in the Coast Guard from 1955-1957. He had served as chief of medical staff for Oakdale Regional Center, retiring in 1982. He also retired as deputy medical examiner in Lapeer County in 1992. He served as chief of staff at the Lapeer County General Hospital in 1970 and was secretary-treasurer for the Lapeer County Medical Society from 1963 until 1983. He had been a member of the Lapeer Kiwanis Club, the Michigan State Medical Society, the AMA and the Michigan Pathology Society.
He is survived by his son, Lawrence (Tommie) Franklin; daughters, Patricia (Robert) Wozniak, Marcia (John) Boruch-Faba and Jennifer Boruch; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Theresa Tomaszewski; and a nephew, Eugene F. (Dawn) Tomaszewski.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga Boruch in 1990; granddaughter, Ann Rene Franklin; and brother-in-law, Eugene Tomaszewski

Visitation and a rosary prayer service were Sunday (Sept. 15). Funeral Mass was Monday (Sept. 16) at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lapeer. The Rev. Janusz Iwan officiated. Burial was in Mount Loretto cemetery, Lapeer.

Ira James Wooster

Ira James Wooster, 79, of Lapeer, died Sept. 10, 2002.
He served in the Army during World War II. He was retired from General Motors and was a member of the Metamora Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Sandra (Harold) Campbell, Mary (Eugene) Parrish, Carol (Kenneth) Henry and James Wooster; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brother, Sam (Betty) Wooster; and a sister, Rena Lloyd.
Funeral services were Thursday (Sept. 12) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Peter DeKlerk officiated. Burial was in Metamora cemetery.

Kindra K. Moran

Tawas City
Kindra K. (Mulvahill) Moran, 35, of Tawas City, died Tuesday (Sept. 10, 2002) at her home.
She was born April 10, 1967 in Saginaw. She married James W. Moran at Trinity Lutheran Church in Oscoda on July 8, 1995.
She fought a courageous three-year battle against breast cancer. She was a 1990 graduate of Central Michigan University. She had been employed as a school teacher for Holy Family Catholic Schools in Tawas City and more recently at Cedar Lake Elementary. She was also a Naval Reservist. She and James have lived in Tawas City ever since they were married. She enjoyed shopping and arts and crafts, which included her special Labor Day weekend trips to the Harrisville arts and crafts show. She always cherished being a devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter, Lauren; son, Zachary; parents, David and Kay Mulvahill of Oscoda; sister, Amy (Mike) Semenov of Okinawa, Japan; brothers, Matthew (Lisa) of Grand Haven and David of Florida; grandparents, John and June White; parents-in-law, Ken and Gayle Moran of Metamora; nieces and nephews, Carson, Jessica, Chelsea, Olivia, Kaylee, Hope, Emily, Garrett; and many aunts and uncles.

Leland Klauka
Died: Tuesday, September 10, 2002

Leland Klauka, 64, of North Branch, died Tuesday (Sept. 10, 2002) at his home.
He was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Lapeer County, to Leo and Rose (Firmingham) Klauka. He married Joyce Berndt at the Lapeer Methodist Church on June 6, 1957.
As a child, he worked on the dairy farm with his parents. He retired from Bostick Foundry as a supervisor and worked on small engines and tractors. He was also a wood cutter. He finished his education in 1988 and received his GED from Lapeer County Adult Classes. He was very proud of his accomplishments. He enjoyed going on trips in northern Michigan, picking berries and having coffee with his friends. He will be missed by all of his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Julia Hurd of Battle Creek, Marcia (John) Burnette of North Branch and Cynthia (Jellin) Klauka of Almont; sons, Richard Klauka, Phillip (Dusty) Klauka and Cary (Denise) Klauka, all of North Branch; five grandsons, two sisters, Betty Shoults of Mayville and Dorothy (Kenneth) Harmon of North Branch; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; and one sister.
A memorial service was Friday (Sept. 13) at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home, North Branch. The Rev. Wayne Ferrigan officiated. Cremation has taken place.

Agnes Clothier

Agnes Clothier, 80, of Clifford, died Monday (Sept. 9, 2002).
She was born Nov. 30, 1921, in Sullivan, Ind., to John and Claudine (Pierson) Neilson. She married Jack Clothier in Davison on October 12, 1940. She was a 1939 graduate of Bendle High School in Flint.
She is survived by her sons, John (Bernadean) Clothier of Flint and James Clothier of Clifford; daughters, Gaye (Thomas) Butterfield of Lapeer, Jeanne (Lee) Jerore of Millington and Cheri (Edward) Lynch of Pell City, Ky.; brother, Bill Neilson of Burton; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack on March 24, 1994; parents and brother, John Neilson.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 12) at Marsh Funeral Chapel , Marlette.

Warren W. Gingell

Warren W. Gingell, 90, of Lapeer died Sunday (Sept. 8, 2002).
He was born July 28, 1912, in Pontiac to Fred and Elizabeth (Newell) Gingell. He married Florence Eckel on Feb. 18, 1938.
He was a farmer his entire life. He and Florence shared 64 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Florence of Lapeer; son, Stuart (Ann) Gingell of Lapeer; daughter, Judy (Barney) Farnsworth of Grand Ledge; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gertrude (Keith) Curtis of Oxford and Pearl Hoard of Oxford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elizabeth (Newell) Gingell; and brothers, Newell and Lawrence Gingell.
