Beverly J. Hagner, 68, of Columbiaville, died Sunday (Nov. 17, 2002) at home.
She was born in Otter Lake to Edgar and Ilda (Newbery) Sutherby.
She was a member of Nourmahal Chapter 282 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Otisville.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin Hagner Jr.; daughters, Shelia (Dean) Cole of Columbiaville, Lou Ann (Henry) Van Driessche of Bay City and Kimberly (Victor) Belland of Lapeer; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Arnold (Barbara) Sutherby of Davison; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Elaine.
Funeral services wereWednesday (Nov. 20) at Hudson Funeral Home, Inc., Otisville. Brill Crampton officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery, Columbiaville.

Carolyn Kaye Cross

Marlette
Carolyn Kaye Cross, 58, of Marlette, died Sunday (Nov. 17, 2002) at her home.
She was born Sept. 4, 1944, in Croswell to Otis and Mowinna (Jones) Sontag. She married David Henry Sutphin in 1963. She then married Robert L. Cross in 1972.
She moved to the Marlette area 15 years ago from Lapeer. She worked for the Lear Corp. in Marlette and she was a past 4-H Leader in Lapeer County.
She is survived by her son, Rodney (Robyn) Sutphin of Kingston; daughters, Carla (Randy) Davis of Fostoria, Carmela (Scott Horth) Sutphin of Rhodes, Todd (Linda) Sutphin of Alabama and David (Star) Sutphin of Rochester Hills; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Henry Sutphin in 1971.
Memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice.
Funeral services were Tuesday (Nov. 19) at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette. The Rev. Daniel Bowman officiated. Cremation was at the Sunset Valley Crematory, Bay City.

Joshua J. Wyss

Joshua J. Wyss, 24, of Petoskey (formerly of Lapeer), died Saturday (Nov. 16, 2002).
He was born Sept. 11, 1978, in Lapeer to Bryan Wyss and Janet McCallum.
He had been a chef in a restaurant. He was an artist and a self-taught guitarist. He had an ear for anyone that wanted to talk. He was his mom's best friend.
He is survived by his mother, Janet Wyss of Lapeer; father, Bryan Wyss of Roscommon; sister, Kayla Brooke Wyss of Roscommon; step-brother, Johan Ekstrom of North Branch; grandparents, Bonnie and Clinton McCallum of Lapeer and Alma Wyss, formerly of Capac; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard B. Wyss I; and uncle, Robert Wyss.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, checks payable to Janet Wyss.
Funeral services were Monday (Nov. 18) at Davison United Methodist Church, Davison. The Rev. Thomas Wachterhauser officiated. Burial was in Oxford cemetery, Oxford.

Rebecca Lynn Spens

Dryden
Rebecca Lynn Spens, 50, of Dryden, died Saturday (Nov. 16, 2002) at Lapeer Regional Hospital.
She was born July 26, 1952, in Mount Clemens to Neil and Carol (Studebaker) Randall. She married Edward Lawrence Spens on Nov. 11, 1972, in Imlay City.
She graduated from Almont High School in 1970 and attended Detroit College of Business. She had been employed in the Billing Dept. for Rochester Family Physicians. She also worked for a physician in Richmond and a dentist in Washington. She was the founder of Dryden Fun Days.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; sons, Edward V. of Dryden and Adam N. (Annette) of Lapeer; granddaughter, Allison; mother, Carol Randall of Wildwood, Fla.; sisters, Ruth (Doug) Murphy of Almont, Carroll (Roger) Lesner of Dryden, Kim Walker of Madison Heights, Gale (Larry) Malburg of Almont, Laura (Chuck) Lasslette of Lake Mary, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Pamela (Eugene) Waterson of Almont, Patricia (Robert) Davis of Almont, Penny (Robert) Tibbits of Armada; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Berville Lions Club or Dryden First Responders.
Funeral services were Tuesday (Nov. 19) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City. Burial was in Almont cemetery, Almont.

Clinton McCallum

Clinton "Craig" McCallum, 59, of North Branch, died Saturday (Nov. 16, 2002).
He was born Aug. 26, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo., to Clinton and Bonnie McCallum. He married Jean Sawgle on May 10, 1991.
He graduated from Lapeer High School, Class of 1961. He was a Green Beret in the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Consumers Energy on Sept. 1, 2002, after 32 years of service. He loved hunting, playing the lottery and bingo. He was a lifetime resident of the North Branch-Lapeer area.
He is survived by his wife, Jean McCallum; children, Chad McCallum of Lansing, Jacqueline (Chris) Lenker of Fostoria and Roy Moshier of Fort Wayne, Ind.; grandchild, Roylean Lenker; siblings, Jeffrey (Diane) McCallum of Lapeer, Jill (Paul) Porter of Davison, Janet Wyss of Lapeer; and parents, Clinton and Bonnie McCallum of Lapeer.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Joshua J. Wyss.

Rose Jane Fulton, 95, died Saturday (Nov. 16, 2002) at her daughter's home in Lapeer.
She was born July 28, 1907, in Detroit to Joseph and Teresa (Gasko) Moll.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Mount Clemens for 28 years. She resided at Park Place Towers in Mount Clemens. She was a kind, loving and giving matriarch, who will be missed by all.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lynn (John) Rairick of Florida and Kathleen (Ralph) Theisen of Lapeer; sons-in-law, Morris Mouton of Mount Clemens and Lee Conroy of Mount Clemens; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo P. Fulton; daughters, Dolores Mouton and Beverly Conroy; grandsons, Patrick Conroy and Thomas Mouton; and great-grandson, Michael Bauer.
Visitation wasWednesday (Nov. 20) at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, Mount Clemens.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 21) at St. Peter Catholic Church, Mount Clemens.A private burial will be held at Sacred Heart cemetery, Anchorville.

Richard G. Bennett

Richard G. Bennett, 50, of North Branch (formerly of Romulus), died Saturday (Nov. 16, 2002) at his home.
He was born Nov. 19, 1951, in Rouge to William and Eudell (Parker) Bennett. He married Karen Oxendine on May 18, 1985, in Riverview.
He enjoyed working on his 1955 Chevrolet, going to car shows and antique shopping with his wife. He enjoyed being around people and his job at Newcor in Clifford, where he was a production manager. He fought a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Ricky (Maria) of Wyandotte, Billy of Westland and David (Connie) Slack of Westland; grandchildren, Ricky, Nickie and Matthew; sisters, Shirley Bruce, Cindy (Marvin) Caines, Joyce (Gene) Blankenship, Barbara (Donnie) Whitlow, Joanne Short, Jeannette Kelly and Nora (Ray) Whorley; brothers, William (Pat) Bennett of Okla.; many nieces, nephews and friends; and special neighbors, Ron and Carolyn Bower.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.

Carol Ann Mazur, 60, of Washington Township, died Friday (Nov. 15, 2002), after a short illness.
She was born March 28, 1942, in Pontiac to Joseph and Marcella Bauer.
She was a medical transcriptionist at St. John Oakland Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; mother, Marcella Bauer; sister, Ruth Cornell of North Branch; nephews, Tom (Sue) Cornell, Bruce Cornell; and great-nephews, Robert and Dennis Cornell.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Bauer.
