Rheta Haskill of Napoleon, Ohio, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at her home.
She was born in Attica to Ellis and Mildred (Morningstar) Haskill.
She was a member of the Napoleon Elks, Moose and Amvets Post 1313.
She is survived by her son, Mannie (Vicki) Lamerson of Paulding, Ohio; daughters, Debbie (Steve) Tashik of Midland, N.J., and Roxanne Morningstar of Napoleon; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Mannie; and sister, Rethal Kingsberry.

Nancy J. Kelch, 54, of Lapeer, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003.
She was born July 30, 1948, in Clifford to Glenn and Lorraine (Davey) Kelch.
She worked for the state Department of Corrections' regional office as a computer operator for 33 years, retiring in 2002. She always enjoyed reading, cats, trips and shopping. She served on the Board of Directors at the Lapeer County Community Credit Union and volunteered many hours.
She is survived by her mother, Lorraine Kelch of Lapeer; sisters, Becky (Doug) Cromer of Burton and Barb (Jim) Rifenbark of Philadelphia, Tenn.; one niece and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn; and grandparents.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Episcopal Church or the charity of your choice.
A memorial service was Wednesday (Feb. 19) at Grace Episcopal Church, Lapeer. The Rev. Steven Dewey officiated. Cremation has taken place.

David G. Rowden, 56, of Lakeland, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Grace Healthcare, Lakeland, Fla., of cancer.
He was born April 9, 1946, in Flint to Gilbert and Mary Rowden.
He was a 1964 graduate of Lapeer High School and graduate of Central Michigan University. He moved to Lakeland, Fla., from Bloomington, Ill., in 1995.Ê He was a claims manager with State Farm Insurance Co. in Winter Haven, Fla. He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Lakeland Elks Club, Southern Cruisers Motorcycle Club and C.P.C.U. Society.Ê
He is survived by his wife, Toni L. Rowden of Lakeland, Fla.; daughter, Amy B. Benefiel of Tampa, Fla.; sons, Matthew D. of Bradenton, Fla., and Andrew G. of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren; mother-in-law, Ruth Schultz; brother, Michael of Grand Blanc; and sister, Ann Stone of Lapeer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Mary Rowden; and brother, Steven.Ê

A Funeral Mass was Tuesday (Feb. 18) at the Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland, Fla.Ê
Henry Peabody III

Henry Peabody III, 42, of Higgins Lake-Roscommon, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003.
He was born Dec. 21, 1960, in Kentucky to Henry Peabody II and Ruth (Ogden) Peabody.
He was a graduate of Western Michigan University. He worked for Wolgast Corp. in Saginaw, as a construction manager. He was an avid outdoor sportsman and golfer.
He is survived by his children, Adrienne Ruth and Henry Navarre IV of Lapeer; and their mother, Jan Cishke-Peabody of Lapeer; his mother, Ruth Ogden; brother, James (Michelle); aunts, Carol Gray, Barbara F. Ogden and Mary O. Loyer; nieces and nephews, Alexander and Elise; numerous cousins; and friend, Judy Sue Botkins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Peabody III.

Dorothy E. Wangler, 92, of Flint died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Maple Woods Manor.
She was born Feb. 11, 1911, in Gladwin County to Joseph Alex and Beatrice (Fournier) Walters. She married Ivan Wangler on June 27, 1930, in West Branch.
She was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church. She loved cooking and caring, and liked her pretty flowers.
She is survived by her children, Caroline (Zade) Wilson of Vassar, Aileen (Albert) Vroman of Burton, Ruth Wiley of Kalamazoo, Marge (Frank) Heit of Burton, Carl (Marge) of Sanford and Bob (Denise) of Essexville; sons-in-law, Ron Ludorf of Arizona and Gene Kenworthy of Metamora; 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, brother, Stanley (Rita) Walters of West Branch; and sisters-in-law, Helen Walters of West Branch and Ada of West Branch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Wangler on April 27, 1982; son, Michael; daughters, Donna Mae Kenworthy and Jane Ludorf; grandson, Alan Vroman; five brothers and son-in-law, Nelson Wiley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice in Goodrich or the charity of your choice.
Funeral Mass was Monday (Feb. 17) at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison. The Rev. Craig G. Carolan officiated. Burial was in Mount Loretto cemetery, Lapeer.

George Iloncaie

Almont
George Iloncaie, 94, of Almont, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Metamora Manor. He was born Oct. 1, 1908, in Pennsylvania to George and Esther (Takacs) Iloncaie. He married Jennie Gardner on Feb. 23, 1935, in Flint.
They lived in the Almont area most of their lives. He had a plumbing business in Almont for several years, then worked for Hamill Manufacturing and retired from Firestone. After retiring, he raised champion show chinchillas as a hobby. He was a former member of the Almont Lions Club and a lifetime member of the Almont Masons.
He is survived by his son, Alex (Bev) of Campbellsport, Wis.; daughter, Betty Jean of Almont; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and brother, John of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie; and son, James.
Funeral services were Monday (Feb. 17) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Almont. The Rev. Larry Rieck of the First Congregational Church, Almont, officiated. Burial was in Attica cemetery.

Donald J. Herron

North Branch
Donald J. Herron, 85, of North Branch, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Covenant Cooper Health Care System.
He was born March 15, 1917, in Yale to John and Mary (Doherty) Herron. He married Lyla Jane Farley on Oct. 11, 1952. They shared 34 years together before she preceded him in death. He married Arla Schlaud on June 20, 1989, she preceded him in death. He then married Doris Hasenburg Good on Nov. 12, 1994.
He and his family moved to their farm in Brown City in October 1931, and the following year they moved to their farm in Burnside. He graduated from Brown City High School in 1936. He always dreamed of becoming a farmer, even before helping his father on their rented (Weber) Farm on Summers Road. He bought a farm at 5683 Summers Road, at the age of 24, and he bought his first car when he was 30. He and Lyla had six children together. After retiring as a dairy farmer, he became a carpenter and roofer. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. When he was younger he was very active in 4-H, 4-H Service Club and Junior Farm Bureau. As an adult he was a member of Michigan Farm Bureau. He served as faithful navigator and faithful scribe of St. John Neuman Assembly. He joined the Imlay City Knights of Columbus in 1958, and served as grand knight of Imlay City Council. He was commander of the Color Corp. and acted as grand knight on the admission degree team for over 15 years. He worked at the Knights of Columbus Bingo from 1968 to 2000, then he enjoyed the game as a patron. He and his family loved to travel to Michigan's Upper Peninsula in his homemade camper. He and his wife, Jane, made trips to Europe, Hawaii and many other places in the United States. He and Doris also enjoyed frequent road trips to visit friends, family and the occasional casino.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; sons, Patrick of Melvin and John of Tennesee; daughters, Elizabeth (Barry) Ruff of Alaska, Lucy Hughes of Marquette, Margaret (Wilson) Almand of Maine and Donna (Rod) Reinhart of Bay City; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Lyla Jane in 1986 and Arla on Nov. 12, 1994; parents and three brothers.
Funeral Mass was Saturday (Feb. 15) at St. Mary's Catholic Church, North Branch. The Rev. Lawrence Dunn officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery, North Branch.

Marie Dutcher

Marie Dutcher, 76, of Lapeer, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.
She was born March 21, 1926, in Harlan County, Ky., to John and Lora (Hensley) Little.
She worked as the Deerfield Township clerk for many years.
She is survived by her children, Leta Male, Marsha (John) Hyde, Dorcey (Julie) Crank and Greg Dutcher; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Gladys Krutka.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dorcey Crank; second husband, Merrit Dutcher; her parents; daughter, Susan Gilliam; sister, Lillian Hamilton; and brother, William Little.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopewell General Baptist Church.
Funeral services were Friday (Feb. 14) at Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mount Morris. The Rev. Scott Sotherland officiated. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.
