Louise M. Hinz
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, Jan. 16, in St. Paul Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Farms for former City of Grosse Pointe resident Louise M. Hinz, who died in the Autumn Woods Convalescent Home in Warren on Monday, Jan. 12, 1998.
Mrs. Hinz, 86, was born in Grosse Pointe and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hinz is survived by her son, Ted; three daughters, Sister Joan Hinz, O.P., Barbara Morabito and Susan Mazalauskas; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods. Interment is at Mount Olivet cemetery in Detroit.

Alice M. Maledon
A funeral Mass was celebrated St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Park on Thursday, Jan. 22, for Park resident Alice M. Maledon, who died in her home on Monday, Jan. 19, 1998.
Mrs. Maledon, 83, was born in Olyphant, Pa., and was educated at Marygrove College and the University of Detroit. She worked for the J.L. Hudson Co. for 30 years as a buyer.
An active member of the community, Mrs. Maledon was a Eucharistic minister at St. Clare of Montefalco as well as a member of the Legion of Mary.
Mrs. Maledon is survived by four daughters, Dr. Anne Loebl, Marilyn P. Maledon, Rosemary Campbell and Eleanor M. Moran; two sons, William and Michael; a sister, Anna Mary O'Neill; and 16 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Maledon Sr.; and a sister, Eleanor C. Lutz.
Interment is at Holy Sepulchre cemetery in Southfield. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park.

Sally Duffield Wilder
A memorial service will be held at a later date for former Grosse Pointe Farms resident Sally Duffield Wilder, who died in Denver on Monday, Jan. 13, 1998, of complications from Alzheimer's Disease.
Mrs. Wilder, 73, was born in Detroit. A trustee of Connecticut College, she was an amateur paleontologist and enjoyed traveling and art.
Mrs. Wilder is survived by a daughter, Anne Wright; and two sons, Whit and Tab McGinley.

Elizabeth Savage Fitzgerald
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Paul Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Farms on Saturday, Jan. 17, for former Farms resident Elizabeth Savage Fitzgerald, who died in The Whittier on Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998.
Mrs. Fitzgerald, 89, was born in Milwaukee. She was an active member of the community and belonged to the Bon Secours Assistance League, the Milk Fund, the St. Paul Altar Society and the Neighborhood Club Thrift Shop.
Mrs. Fitzgerald is survived by five daughters, Deborah Bourke, Mary Liz Popp, Patricia Fitzgerald, Dempsey Ollison and Molly Morrison; a brother, John Savage; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park.

Kathryn M. Heck
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date in northern Michigan for Grosse Pointe Farms resident Kathryn M. Heck, who died on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998.
Mrs. Heck, 87, was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church Altar Society in Grosse Pointe Farms. She also was a volunteer for the Michigan Cancer Association.
Mrs. Heck is survived by four sons, Edward, Henry, William and Dennis; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry A. Heck.
Interment is at Torch Lake cemetery in Antrim County.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Cancer Association.
Hilda Wann Beck
A funeral service was held in the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park on Thursday, Jan. 22, for City of Grosse Pointe resident Hilda Wann Beck, who died in her home in the City on Monday, Jan. 19, 1998.
Mrs. Beck, 86, was born in Detroit and received her education at St. Mary's. She worked as a teller at the Grosse Pointe branch of Manufacturer's Bank and was a member of the Detroit chapter of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, horseback riding, playing cards, bicycle riding and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Beck is survived by a daughter, Sandy Behn; a son, Mel Wann; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Mel H. Wann.
Interment is at Woodmere cemetery in Detroit. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cottage Hospice, 23000 Mack, St. Clair Shores, Mich., 48080.
Floyd Clemens Hinsby
A memorial service was held in the A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods on Friday, Jan. 9, for Grosse Pointe Shores resident Floyd Clemens Hinsby, who died in St. John Hospital in Detroit on Monday, Jan. 5,1998.
Mr. Hinsby, 88, was always proud to say that he was born on 09-09-09 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He came to the United States through Ellis Island when he was 15 and received his degree in engineering from Fordham College in New York City. He apprenticed at Doehler-Jarvis in Pottstown, Pa.
His first job was with the American Can Co., but he later founded his own ejecting mold company, Prospect Dier Mold in 1947. He started a branch of the company in South Carolina when he was 75 and was active with the company well into his 80s.
An active man, Mr. Hinsby was a lifetime member of the Bayview Yacht Club, achieving the rank of "old goat." This title is given to those who have sailed in at least 25 Mackinac races. He was also a member of the Detroit Yacht Club and the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. His boat was a 54-foot sloop named "Tamara."
Mr. Hinsby is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bernadine E. Hinsby; two daughters, Caryl and Susan Hinsby; a son, Pat; and two grandchildren.

Richard S. Schoenherr
A visitation was held in the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park on Monday, Jan. 26, for City of Grosse Pointe resident Richard S. Schoenherr, who died in Detroit on Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, of complications from a heart attack.
Mr. Schoenherr, 54, was born in Detroit and known to his friends as Rick. He graduated from Regis College and worked for the Credit Acceptance Corp. He enjoyed auto racing, boating, skiing and hunting.
Mr. Schoenherr is survived by his wife, Kim; three daughters, Lauren Romano, Jody Schoenherr and Brooke Schoenherr; a sister, Judy Huntington; and a brother, John. He was predeceased by a brother, E. Blay Schoenherr.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to Henry Ford Hospital.
Mary Ellen Walker
A visitation was held in the A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods on Wednesday, Jan. 28, for Grosse Pointe Woods resident Mary Ellen Walker, who died in her home in the Woods on Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, of complications from cancer.
Mrs. Walker, 63, was born in Chicago and attended public school in the Chicago area. A retired congressional aide for retired Congressman Dennis Hertel, she was active in many community activities, including the PTO. She also served as a room mother at Mason Elementary in the Woods and was past president of Women Hibernians of Michigan.
An active member of the Michigan Democratic Party, Mrs. Walker served on the party's State Central Committee and was also on the 14th District's executive board and worked on the campaigns of former state Supreme Court Justice Blair Moody and Chief Justice G. Mennen Williams as well as the campaign of Dennis Hertel.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two daughters, Mary Celine and Shiobhan; two sons, Sean and Stephen; two brothers, Thomas and James Fuller; and five grandchildren.

Rita Lamberta Chester
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Paul Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Farms at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 29, for former Farms resident Rita Lamberta Chester, who died in the Georgian East Nursing Home in St. Clair Shores on Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998.
Mrs. Chester, 81, was born in Owosso and was past president of the St. Juliana Altar Society.
Mrs. Chester is survived by her husband, Paul P. Chester; two sons, Richard and Thomas; a sister, Barbara Caroselli; and two grandchildren.
Interment is at Holy Sepulchre cemetery in Southfield. Funeral arrangements were handled by the A.H. Peters Funeral Home of Grosse Pointe Woods.
Ellen J. Lawton
A funeral service was held in Battle Creek on Tuesday, Jan. 27, for former City of Grosse Pointe resident Ellen J. Lawton, who died in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Friday, Jan. 16, 1998.
Mrs. Lawton, 83, was born in Battle Creek and was an accountant.
Mrs. Lawton is survived by two cousins, Marceta Buffington and Alan Munroe. She was predeceased by her husband, William Lawton in 1961.
Interment is at Memorial Park cemetery in Battle Creek. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Brett Funeral Home of St. Petersburg.
Bradley Michael Kramer
A funeral service was held in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grosse Pointe Farms on Sunday, April 19, for Grosse Pointe Woods resident Bradley Michael Kramer, who died in his home on Thursday, April 16, 1998.
Mr. Kramer, 46, was born in Grove City, Pa. and later moved to Grosse Pointe Farms. He graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School in 1970 and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in Europe as an electronic repair specialist from 1970-73.
After the service, he received his undergraduate degree with high honors from Michigan State University in 1976. After college, he got a job as a marketing representative with IBM, where he earned several promotions and awards for being an outstanding salesman and manager. He left IBM in 1984 to become vice president and regional manager of Systems Marketing Corp.
In 1987, Mr. Kramer joined Integrated System Development Corp. as vice president and he later founded AutoWeb Communications, a company that is on the cutting edge of data exchange for the automotive and aerospace industries.
An avid boater, Mr. Kramer spent much of his free time at the Clinton River Boat Club with his family and friends. He enjoyed attending the sporting events of his children.
Mr. Kramer is survived by his wife, Susan Schim Kramer; two daughters, Stephanie Sikora and Patricia; a son, Ryan; his parents, George and Nora Kramer; his sister, Patricia Harris; and his in-laws, Leonard and Ann Schim. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Sydne Morgan Sikora.

George C. Hennig
A funeral service will be held in the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park on Saturday, May 2, at 2 p.m. for Grosse Pointe Farms resident George C. Hennig, who died in his home on Tuesday, April 21, 1998.
Mr. Hennig, 75, was born in Detroit and was a private in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as an engineer for American Sunroof.
Mr. Hennig is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Albers, Debra Roland, Karen Clegg and Kandy Munro ; a son, Dennis; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Katherine Burgess Stockwell
A memorial service will be held at a later date for former Grosse Pointe Farms resident Katherine Burgess Stockwell, who died in Keene, N.H., on Thursday, April 23, 1998.
Mrs. Stockwell, 93, was born in Detroit and known to her friends as Kitty. She graduated from the Liggett School and Briarcliff College. After leaving the Farms, she lived in San Diego and Keene.
Mrs. Stockwell is survived by a daughter, Gail S. Talbot; a son, Robert G. Stockwell; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Benjamin W. Stockwell; and by her son, James B. Stockwell.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Foley Funeral Home of Keene. Memorial contributions may be made to Goodwill or a local hospice organization.
Phyllis Campau Kettenhofen
Funeral services were held in the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park on Friday, April 24, for Grosse Pointe Farms resident Phyllis Campau Kettenhofen, who died on Monday, April 20, 1998.
Mrs. Kettenhofen, 90, was born in Detroit and graduated from the Liggett School in Detroit in 1926. She later attended the Otis School of Art in Los Angeles.
Dedicated to painting and art, Mrs. Kettenhofen had showings of her work in the Hanna Galleries in Detroit and she managed the DeGrimme Gallery in Grosse Pointe Farms. She was also a passenger on the maiden voyage of the luxury liner Europa. She enjoyed traveling across Europe with her mother and spent much of her time in Rockport, Maine, painting scenes of that city's waterfront.
Interment is at Mount Elliott cemetery in Detroit.
Mitchell Hrabonz
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Woods on Wednesday, April 29, for former Grosse Pointe Woods resident Mitchell Hrabonz, who died of complications from Alzheimer's disease in Bon Secours Hospital in the City of Grosse Pointe on Sunday, April 26, 1998.
Mr. Hrabonz, 81, was born in Detroit and was known to his friends as Max. He was owner and founder of the Mac-Rae Tool Co. in Warren. The firm specializes in the manufacture of automotive and aircraft parts and is a leader in the industry.
An active man, Mr. Hrabonz was an avid golfer in both Michigan and Florida. He was a member of the Lochmoor Club for many years and was the club champion in 1977.
Mr. Hrabonz is survived by his wife, Michaeline; two daughters, Joanne Brown and Marcia Ricci; a son, Michael; a sister, Bernice Winckowski; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph.
Interment is at Resurrection cemetery in Clinton Township. Funeral arrangements were handled by the A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods.

John Hudson Brabb Jr.
A funeral liturgy will be held in the Wujek-Calcaterra Funeral Home in Sterling Heights on Friday, May 1, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and followed by a funeral Mass in St. Louis Catholic Church in Mount Clemens at 10:30 a.m. for former Grosse Pointe Park resident John Hudson Brabb Jr., who died in Mount Clemens General Hospital on Monday, April 27, 1998.
Mr. Brabb, 64, was born in Detroit and graduated from Grosse Pointe High School and Dartmouth College. He was a technical writer who worked for the Big Three automobile companies as well as numerous other engineering and manufacturing firms. He enjoyed playing bridge, travel, tennis and swimming.
Mr. Brabb is survived by his wife, Angela Brabb; four sons, John III, Robert S., James M. and Brian M.; a brother, Earl Brabb; and five grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Wujek-Calcaterra Funeral Home of Sterling Heights.

Clayton P. Alandt
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Paul Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Farms on Friday, Nov. 20, for Farms resident Clayton P. Alandt, who died on Tuesday, Nov. 17, in St. John Hospital in Detroit of complications from Alzheimer's disease.
Mr. Alandt, 83, was born in River Rouge and graduated from the Wayne State University School of Mortuary Science. He had been a licensed funeral director since 1940 and was former managing director of the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park.
A member of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association, Mr. Alandt served as the group's president in 1970 and was also a member of the Grosse Pointe Rotary, the St. John Hospital Guild, the Wayne State Alumni Association, the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, the Senior Men's Club of Grosse Pointe and the Grosse Pointe Nomads. He served as a member of the Grosse Pointe Park City council.
Mr. Alandt is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; three sons, Peter, Paul and Philip; two sisters, Marie Thibert and Julie Brett; six brothers, Norman, Robert, Clarence, William, George and Frank; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Interment is at Mount Olivet cemetery in Detroit. Funeral arrangements were handled by the A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods.

Henry Drettmann
A funeral service was held in the A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods on Tuesday, Nov. 24, for Grosse Pointe Shores resident Henry Drettmann, who died in Bon Secours Hospital in Detroit on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998.
Mr. Drettmann, 93, was born in Breman, Germany, and came to the United States when he was 21. An apprentice tool and die maker in Germany, his first job in this country was working for Bell Laboratories in New York City. He came to Detroit three years later in 1929.
Just before the Stock Market Crash of 1929, he founded Active Tool & Manufacturing and was able to become the principal supplier of certain auto parts to Ford and Chrysler. During World War II, the company played a role in producing goods for the war effort.
Eventually, the firm had facilities in Michigan and Indiana and currently employs over 2,200 people. He remained active in the company until recently when he was sidelined by illness, but he lived long enough to see the installation of the world's largest hydraulic press lines at the company's Clinton Township facility.
Mr. Drettmann was a member of the Detroit Yacht Club and the Detroit Athletic Club.
Mr. Drettmann is survived by his wife, Margarete Nardone Drettmann; a daughter, Marilyn Drettmann Blake; a son, Henry A. Drettmann; and eight grandchildren.

Eugenie Ann Page
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 1, in the Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, Pa., for former Grosse Pointe Park resident Eugenie Ann Page, who died of complications from a heart attack on Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, in the Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Mrs. Page, 75, was born in Detroit and graduated from Grosse Pointe University Liggett School and Vassar College, which she entered when she was 16. She married
in 1946 and moved to the Philadelphia area in 1952.
An automobile accident in 1964 that left her paralyzed did not stop Mrs. Page from being an active member of the community. She belonged to the Tau Beta Society in Grosse Pointe, the Merion Cricket Club and the Junior League of Philadelphia.
Mrs. Page is survived by her husband, Raymond S. Page Jr.; four sons, Palmer T.H. Page, David W. Page, Thomas E. Page and Raymond S. Page III; a sister, Rosemary; two brothers, Earl and Palmer Heenan; and eight grandchildren.
Interment is at West Laurel Hill cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, Pa. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Stuard Funeral Home of Ardmore, Pa.

Sara Lou Leslie Weir
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Dec. 2, in the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park for Park resident Sara Lou Leslie Weir, who died of complications from heart disease in Houston, on Monday, Nov. 23, 1998.
Mrs. Weir, 86, was born in Etowah, Tenn., and graduated from Etowah High School in 1931. She was a waitress and the proprietor of Wimpy's Grill just outside Grosse Pointe for over 20 years, between the 1940s and 1960s.
An active woman her entire life, Mrs. Weir was a member and a pacesetter of her local walking group. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and reading poetry.
Mrs. Weir is survived by a son, Robert Weir; four sisters, Pearl Crockett, Margaret Jones, Johnnie Barnett and Grace Goodman; a brother, Joseph Leslie; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Weir; four sisters, Mary, Jane, Sue Brawner and Martha Simmons; and a brother, Thomas.
Interment is at Forest Lawn cemetery in Detroit.

Frank Scott Clark III
A private memorial service was recently held for City of Grosse Pointe resident Frank Scott Clark III, who died on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998.
Mr. Clark, 86, was born in Detroit and graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1931. He was president of Great Lakes Products in Marysville, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, earning the rank of lieutenant.
An active man, Mr. Clark enjoyed playing golf, traveling the world, listening to music, reading history and fishing. He was a member of the Detroit Golf Club and the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Barbara Claudia Willey Clark; two sons, Patrick and Timothy; a brother, Hugh; and three grandchildren.
Interment is at the Christ Church Grosse Pointe Columbarium. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park.

Carle P. Cubberly
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. in Grosse Pointe United Church in Grosse Pointe Farms for former City of Grosse Pointe resident Carle Purdy Cubberly, who died on Monday, Nov. 16, in Akron, Ohio.
Mr. Cubberly, 86, was born in Malden, Mass., and graduated from Manchester High School in Connecticut. He also attended Bates College and began his career with the Hartford Insurance Co. in the mid-1930s. He retired from the firm as senior marketing representative in 1977.
An active member of the community, Mr. Cubberly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, volunteering for hazardous duty with the secret Sino-American Cooperative Organization in China during the final months of the war in 1945.
He was a member of Grosse Pointe United Church and the Grosse Pointe Senior Men's Club, where he participated in the choral group for over 20 years.
Mr. Cubberly is survived by three daughters, Corliss Cubberly Davis, Pamela and Sandra Cubberly; a son, Richard; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Astrid Margaret Olander Cubberly.
Interment is at the Grosse Pointe United Church Columbarium.

Clarice T. Grob
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Woods at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, for former Grosse Pointe Woods resident Clarice T. Grob, who died in Miami on Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998.
Mrs. Grob, 80, was born in Utah and grew up in Pocatello, Idaho. After attending college for two years, she began working for Western Airlines, where she met her future husband who was an officer in the U.S. Navy at the time.
An active member of the community, Mrs. Grob was director and past president of the Detroit Women's Council of the Navy League of the USA, as well as a member and past president of the Rosary Altar Society of Our Lady Star of the Sea. She was also a Eucharistic minister. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, as well as traveling.
Mrs. Grob is survived by her husband, Emil C. Grob; two daughters, Sharon Grob and Judy Villablanca; a son, Steven; a sister, Lola Shipley; a brother, Bob Tripp; and five grandchildren.

Edna Moeller
A funeral service was held on Thursday, Jan. 21, in the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park for City of Grosse Pointe resident Edna Moeller, who died in Bon Secours Hospital in the City on Monday, Jan. 18, 1999 of complications from a thoracic aneurysm.
Mrs. Moeller, 86, was born in Toronto and attended Southeastern High School in Detroit and St. Mary's Academy in Monroe. She kept the books for her husband's residential home building business.
An active member of the community, Mrs. Moeller served as treasurer for the Bon Secours gift shop. She also volunteered her time to Lutheran Social Services and the Guild at St. James Lutheran Church for many years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, playing bridge and Scrabble.
Mrs. Moeller is survived by two daughters, Lois Humphrey and Linda Moeller; two sons, Ernest and Richard; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest G. Moeller; a son, Wally; and her sister, Adeline Martin.
Interment is at Roseland Park in Berkley.

Ruth Wilson Atwell
Private funeral services will be held at a later date for former Grosse Pointe Farms resident Ruth Wilson Atwell, who died on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in the Karrington House in Ann Arbor.
Mrs. Atwell, 92, was born in Spray, N.C., and attended Detroit Central High School and worked for the Detroit Free Press.
Mrs. Atwell is survived by her husband of 60 years, Arthur; two sons, Albert and Arthur; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Delmar Franklin Weaver, M.D.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, Jan. 21, in Madison, Va., for former City of Grosse Pointe resident Delmar Franklin Weaver, M.D., who died in his home in Virginia on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999.
Dr. Weaver, 91, was a graduate of William and Mary College and the University of Virginia Medical School. He was a member of the Iota Sigma honorary fraternity at the University of Virginia., and he interned at Mason Hospital in Seattle.
Returning to Virginia to start his general practice, Dr. Weaver was a fellow at the Mayo Clinic from 1936-1939 in otolaryngology, oral and plastic surgery. In 1939 he joined the staff at Henry Ford Hospital, where he was a surgeon in the otolaryngology department. From 1950-1970 he was in private practice and also served as chief of otolaryngology at Hutzel Hospital. He was also a clinical professor at Wayne State University.
An active member of the medical community, Dr. Weaver was past president of the Detroit Otolaryngology Society. He also chaired the otolaryngological division of the Michigan State Medical Society and published 35 articles in national and international medical journals. He was also listed in "Who's Who in the Midwest" and was a pioneer in oral and facial plastic surgery and was elected a fellow in the American Society of Head and Neck Surgery.
In recent years Dr. Weaver practiced medicine in Virginia, where he was chairman of the department of surgery at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. He was also president of the Culpeper County Medical Society and on staff at the University of Virginia Medical School.
Dr. Weaver is survived by his wife Beulah Eloise Thrift Weaver; two daughters, Sally Miller and Jane Reuther; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his son, D. Franklin Weaver Jr.

John Donald Langston, M.D.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 26, in the Restland Abbey Chapel in Dallas for former City of Grosse Pointe resident John Donald Langston, M.D., who died in Dallas on Friday, Jan. 22, 1999.
Dr. Langston, 82, was born in St. Louis and graduated from the Lincoln School in New York City in 1932, Oberlin College in Ohio in 1936 and the Jefferson Medical College in 1940. He was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and joined the U.S. Navy in 1942, serving in the medical corps during World War II and the Korean War.
After leaving the service Dr. Langston became the director of laboratories at Detroit Memorial Hospital, South Macomb General Hospital and Cottage Hospital in Grosse Pointe Farms.
Active in several medical organizations, Dr. Langston was an associate professor of pathology at the Wayne State University College of Medicine.
Dr. Langston is survived by his wife, Christine; four daughters, Althaea Langston, Claire Langston, Penny Alexander and Star Boetticher; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Restland Funeral Home in Dallas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association hospice program.
Paul Duika
A private memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 30, for former Grosse Pointe Farms resident Paul Duika, who died in the Church of Christ Care Center on Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999.
Mr. Duika, 81, was born in Detroit. He is survived by his wife, Mary Duika; a daughter, Mary Ann Miller; two sons, Dennis and Michael; and two great-grandchildren.
Esther M. Russell
A funeral service was held in St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Grosse Pointe Woods on Tuesday, Feb. 16, for former Woods resident Esther M. Russell, who died in the St. John-Bon Secours Senior Community facility in Detroit on Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999.
Mrs. Russell, 94, was born in Detroit and graduated from Eastern High School in Detroit in 1922. A homemaker, she was a member of the Detroit Yacht Club and St. Michael's parish. She loved playing bridge and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Russell is survived by a daughter, Nancy A. Bierley; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William G. Russell; and a son, Robert G. Russell.
Interment is at Woodlawn cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park.

Robert Byrne
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Park for Grosse Pointe Farms resident Robert Byrne, who died in St. John Hospital in Detroit on Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999.
Mr. Byrne, 66, was born in New York and was a graduate of Manhattan College. He worked in the sales and service industry, retiring as vice president of International Service Systems. He was awarded the "Heart of Wayne County" award in 1995 for his services to the community and he enjoyed playing tennis.
Mr. Byrne is survived by his wife, Linda; a daughter, Shannon; and a son, Sean.
Alice W. Steinbach
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 16, in Grosse Pointe Memorial Church in Grosse Pointe Farms for Farms resident Alice W. Steinbach, who died on Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in Bon Secours Hospital in the City of Grosse Pointe of complications from cancer.
Mrs. Steinbach, 76, was born in Ogden, Utah, and was a homemaker. An active woman, she attended Weber College in Utah and the Presbyterian School of Nursing in Chicago, the Univeristy of Illinois and Wayne State University. She had post-graduate degrees in nursing, art history, interior and design and an undergraduate degree in music performance.
She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of Grosse Pointe Memorial Church as well as the Detroit Symphony Guild and the Questors.
She is survived by her husband, Albert L. Steinbach, M.D.; a son, Joel; and a brother, Herbert D. Woods.
Interment is at White Chapel cemetery in Troy. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Chas. Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park.

Charles Trevor Copp
A memorial service will be held in Christ Church Grosse Pointe in Grosse Pointe Farms on Friday, Feb. 19, at 4 p.m. for former Grosse Pointe Farms resident Charles Trevor Copp, who died on Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999.
Mr. Copp, 19, was born in Atlanta and moved to Grosse Pointe Farms with his family shortly afterward. The family returned to Atlanta in 1987.
An active sportsman, Mr. Copp also enjoyed cooking and going on outings with his family. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he was a freshman. He graduated from Walton High School in Marietta, Ga., in 1998.
Mr. Copp is survived by his parents, David and Denise Copp; a sister, Sarah; a brother Hayes; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Margaret Dildilian; and his paternal grandmother, Helen Dobson.

Lydia La Rocca
A funeral service was held in the A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods on Sunday, Feb. 14, for former City of Grosse Pointe resident Lydia La Rocca, who died on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Mrs. La Rocca, 77, was born in Springfield, Mo., and was known to her friends as Elizabeth.
Mrs. La Rocca is survived by a daughter, Sheri La Rocca; a son, Larry; and four grandchildren.
Interment is at Meadowcrest cemetery.
