Donald T. Church, 56, of Columbiaville, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at Hurley Medical Center.
He was born May 2, 1946, in Cadillac, to Charles and Elizabeth Church.
He was a resident of Flint most of his life. He graduated from Kearsley High School in 1964. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He was an assistant scout master for Boy Scout Troop 121 in Burton and was also a committee chairman for Crew 1950. He was a shooting sports director for Boy Scout Camp Tapico. He was a volunteer for the administration office for the Tall Pine Council. He retired from Buick Motor Division in 1997, after 31 years of service. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 599.
He is survived by his wife, Maryann; children, Thomas of Columbiaville, Michael (Michelle) of South Carolina and Malissa of Columbiaville; brothers, Larry (Donna) of Lapeer, Gary (Mona) of Midland and Ronald (Caye) of Maryland; two uncles and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Association or Boy Scout Troop 121 in Burton.
Visitation was Sunday (Jan. 5) at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint and noon to 1 p.m., Monday (Jan. 6) at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 4323 Davison Rd. in Burton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Emmanuel Methodist Church, Burton. The Rev. Jim Rupert will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood cemetery.

Mary Zillah Keener Hill

Hadley/ Lapeer
Mary Zillah Keener Hill, 95, of Hadley/and Lapeer (formerly of Whigville and Grand Blanc), died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002.
She was born Sept. 30, 1907, in Fairberry, Ill., to Orlonzo and Sarah Belle (McKeehan) Keener. She married John B. Hill on June 15, 1929, in Grand Blanc at the Methodist parsonage.
She graduated from Flint Central High School. After graduation, she worked with Good Housekeeping in Flint. Years later, she owned and operated Jack's Sheet Metal with her family. She was a member of Hadley Community Church.
She is survived by her sons, John E. (Sarah) Hill of Hadley and Lapeer, Donald J. (Suzanne) Hill of Lapeer; son-in-law, David Ivory of Hadley; nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1957; daughter, Maryanne Ivory in 1998; brothers, Henry, Orie and Francis; and sister, Irene.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hadley Community Church.
Funeral services were held (Jan. 2) at Hadley Community Church. The Revs. Bob Service and Rich Geigert officiated. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, Grand Blanc.

Paul Richard Goda

Paul Richard Goda, 58, of Lapeer, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002.
He was born Oct. 1, 1944, in Lapeer to Frank and Velma (Hoffert) Goda. He married Gloria Lakics on Aug. 17, 1984, in Lapeer.
He worked in construction for Housing and Urban Development in Pontiac. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Goda of Lapeer; and sister, Barb Fromwiller of Otter Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Velma (Hoffert) Goda.
Cremation has taken place.

Rowland Frederick Bissett Jr.

Rowland Frederick Bissett Jr., 50, of Flint, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002.
He was born Dec. 29, 1951, in Flint to Rowland F. and Anna (Schalau) Bissett Sr.
He grew up in Imlay City and lived in Flint for four years. He had also lived in North Branch. He graduated from Imlay City High School in 1970 and obtained a nursing degree from St. Clair County Community College. He worked for Firestone/-Hamill Manufacturing in Imlay City for 12 years. Most recently, he was employed by the University of Michigan-Flint through a work-study program.
He is survived by his children, Rowland F. Bissett III of Nevada and Gladys E. (Michael) Biddle of New Mexico; grandchildren, Michael Biddle, Sylvia Biddle, Stephanie Bissett and Samantha Bissett; mother, Anna E. (Schalau) Bissett of Imlay City; brothers, Donald (Gail) Bissett of Imlay City, Robert (Cheryl) Bissett of North Branch and Edward (Lisa) Bissett of Otisville; sisters, Carolyn Bissett of Imlay City, Patricia (Gary) Kimery of Almont, Loretta (John) Thurlow of North Branch and Anna M. Bissett of Imlay City; and step-grandmother, Irene Bissett of Columbiaville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rowland F. Bissett Sr.; and grandparents, Ernest and Nina Bissett and Edward and Anna Schalau.
Funeral services were Monday (Dec. 30) at St. Mary's Catholic Church, North Branch. The Rev. Lawrence Dunn officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery, North Branch.

Doris V. (Johnson) Marks, 74, of North Branch, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at home with her family.
She was born Nov. 2, 1928, in Goodland Township to John and Beatrice (Rutherford) Smith.
She was retired from Oakdale Regional Center after many years of service. She enjoyed bird watching and her flower gardens, but most enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Dianne Ritchie of Columbiaville, Valerie (Darrell) Chambers of North Branch, Debra (Bill) Racine of North Branch, Edward (Candace) Johnson of Davison, Christopher (Peggy) Johnson of Cass City and Willard (Kelly) Johnson of Millington; 26 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sister, Bonnie Seames of Lapeer; brothers, William (Mary Ellen) Smith of Florida, Herbert Smith of Marlette and James Smith of Lapeer; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marlene; and brothers, Donald, Robert, Kenneth, Glen and Jack Smith.
Funeral services were Monday (Dec. 30) at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Arnold Bracy officiated. Burial was in Stiles cemetery, Lapeer.

Linda Lee Flores-Green

Linda Lee Flores-Green, 46, of Lapeer, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.
She was born in 1956 in Flint.
She graduated with high honors in 1974 from Flint Hamady High School. She attended the St. Joseph Hospital School of Radiology and was employed by Flint Osteopathic Hospital. She fought a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for 23 years. She was cared for by a loving and supportive staff at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Green; sons, Matthew Green and Aaron Green; parents, Jesse and Katie Flores; brothers, David (Jennifer) of Medford, Mass. and Dan (Tina) of Grand Blanc; niece, Madison of Grand Blanc; nephew, Nick of Grand Blanc; special aunt, Shirley Iski; and aunts, uncles, cousins, various family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Jr.; uncle, Steve Iski; former father-in-law, Roy Green; and grandparents, Flores and Wright.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Michigan, on behalf of Linda Flores-Green.
Funeral services were Monday (Dec. 30) at All Saints Catholic Church, G-4063 W. Pierson Road in Flint. The Revs. Anthony Majchrowski and Stanley Czarnota officiated. Burial was in New Calvary Catholic cemetery in Flint.

Barbara (Irowitz) Florescul, 95, of Flint (formerly of Columbiaville/-Barnes Lake) died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at her granddaughter's home in Flint.
She was born June 28, 1907, in Salzburg, Austria.
She is survived by her daughter, Karin (Ira "Jerry") Havens of Barnes Lake; special granddaughters, Caroline and Monica; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Deerfield cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
Lillian Rose Willis

Lillian Rose Willis, 22 months, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at home.
She was born Feb. 27, 2001, in Flint to Richard and Claudia (Kowalec) Willis.
She is survived by her parents; sister, Andrea; brothers, Nicholas and Blake; grandparents, James and Nina Willis; grandfather, Chester Kowalec; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A memorial service was Monday (Dec. 30) at Allen Funeral Home, Davison. The Rev. John Kaiser officiated. Cremation has taken place.
