Nadyne M. Gleason, 69, of Grayling, MI. passed away on Friday, November 23rd, 2007.
Nadyne was born in Portland, MI on July 6, 1938, the daughter of
the late George and Naomi (Clark) Gleason.
Nadyne had lived in the Grayling area since April 2005, coming from Bay City.
Nadyne spent her working days as a hairdresser, and also enjoyed refinishing furniture and making homemade handcrafts.
Nadyne is survived by
Daughters: Maria Lee Farris of Murray, Kentucky
Kimberly Marlowe of Grayling, MI.
Son:Christopher (Sheila) Marlowe of Ferrysburg, MI.
She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren
Brother, George Gleason of Yreka, CA.
A private family service will be held.

Marva Smith
November 19, 2007

Mrs. Marva Jean Smith, 72, of Grayling passed away on Monday, November 19th, 2007.
Marva was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan on November 26, 1934,
the daughter of the late Arthur and Mona Vee Bigelow.
She was the wife of Laurence D. Smith, they married December 21, 1955 in Williamston, Michigan.
Marva is survived by
Daughter: Virginia Burnham
Son:Larry Smith
She is also survived by 5 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Wesley W. Smith
November 12, 2007

Mr. Wesley William Smith, 70, of Frederic passed away on Monday, November 12th, 2007.
Wesley was born in Grayling, MI on April 18, 1937, the son of
the late David B. and Laura M. (Sammons) Smith.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was retired from Michigan State University where he worked
as a mail driver for the university stores.
Wesley is survived by
Sons: Ward (Debra) Smith of Vermontville, MI
William (Renee) Smith of DeWitt, MI.,
Peter (Mindy) Smith of Algonac, MI.
He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren
Brother: David (Janis) Smith of Grayling, MI.
Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post #106 at Elmwood Cemtery, Grayling, MI,
on Saturday, November 17th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m..

Edwin Bennett
November 10, 2007

Edwin Bennett, 79, of Grayling passed away on Saturday November 10, 2007.
He was married to Beatrice.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held on Saturday November 17, 2007 at Calvary Baptist Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral at 12:00 noon with Pastor Robert Barnett officiating.

Hilda Johnston
November 9, 2007

Hilda Johnston, 75, of Grayling passed away on Friday, November 9th, 2007.
Hilda was born in Russia on July 23, 1932, the daughter of the late Jakob and Maria (Steigerwaldt) Diener.
She married George Johnston on June 5, 1954 in Flint, Michigan. They were marrried 40
years before he preceded her in death in 1994.
She came to the United States at 19 years old and obtained her citizenship in 1970's.
She came to the Grayling area in 1986, coming from Flint.
Hilda was a member of Mt. Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church
Hilda is survived by
Daughter: Julie (Bruce) King of Prescott, WI.
Son:George (Susan) Johnston of Garden City, MI.
Grandchildren: Heather, Jacob, Miriam, Rachel, Leah, & Jeremy
Sisters: Emma Schatz of Flint, MI
Katerina Sullivan of Alaska
Lydia (Sam) Grossi of Cli, MI
Brother: Heinrich (Martha) Diener of Flushing, MI
Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 13, 2007 between 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 pm.
at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
Funeral Service at Mt. Hope Evangelical Lutheran on Wednesday, November 14th, 2007 at 10:30 a.m.
with Pastor Steven Thiel officiating.
Interment will be at Sunset Hills cemetery in Flint, MI.

Irene M. Gildner
November 5, 2007

Irene M. Gildner, 61, of Grayling passed away on Monday, November 5th, 2007.
Irene was born in Grayling, MI on February 2, 1946, the daughter of
the late Newman and Doris (Liverton) Bancroft.
She married William R. Gildner on June 24, 1960 at Calvary Baptist Church in Grayling, MI
Irene enjoyed taking care of her family and home and working in her yard with her flowers, quilting, many types of crafts, golf, and traveling to Florida.
Irene is survived by
Husband Bill of 47 years
Sons:
William R. Gildner Jr., Steven Gildner, Tim (Dawn Hentkowski) Gildner, and Ronald Gildner all of Grayling.
Grandchildren:Jesse & Travis Helsel, Chad David Gildner, Ashley Marie Gildner, & Joseph Scott Gildner.
Sisters: Evelyn Kendler, & Anita Hillaker,
Sister-in-law: Barb Bancroft, Vickie Gildner
Brother: Larry Bancroft
Preceded in death by Parents, brothers Norman and Erwin Bancroft, grandson. Steven Helsel.
Visitation will be held on Monday Nov. 12,2007 between 11:00 a.m. til 1:00 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home, Grayling, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, November 12th, 2007 with Rev. Scott Hoffer officiating.
Interment will be at Elmwood cemetery
Memorial contributions may be sent to Mercy Hospice

Ruby Jean Lane
November 3, 2007

Ruby Jean Lane, 61, of Grayling, (formerly of White Lake), passed away on Saturday, November 3rd, 2007.
Ruby was born in Detroit, MI on October 3, 1946, the daughter of
the late Lester and Nadine (Bridgewater) Maule.
She was married to the late Thomas Lane for 34 years before he preceded her in death in 2003.

Mr. Phillip F Miller, 73, of Maple Forest Township passed away on Thursday, January 3rd, 2008.
Phil was born in Flint, MI on February 14, 1934, the son of the late Marvin and Bernice (Taylor) Miller.
He married the former Carol Plamondon on October 2, 1953 in Flint, Michigan.
Phillip is survived by his wife Carol of 54 years;

Daughter: Deborah (Scott) Ellison of Gaylord.
Son:Dean (Carmen)Miller of Grayling.
Grandchildren: Tiffany, Christopher, Casey, & Logan
Great-grandchildren: Brian & Chelsea
Brother: David (Lyda) Miller of Otisville, MI
Sister: Judith (Jim) Long of Millington, MI
Preceded in death by his father, Marvin and brother Bernard Miller
Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on
Saturday January 5, 2008 between 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm
Funeral service will be on Sunday January 6, 2008 at 2:00 pm. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home with Dr. William Cargo officiating.
Interment will be at Maple Forest Twp. cemetery in Spring 2008.

David J. Pomeroy
December 30, 2007

Mr. David J. Pomeroy, 56, of Grayling passed away on Sunday, December 30th, 2007.
David was born in Manistee, MI on May 5, 1951, the son of
the late Edward and Esther (Stepniewski) Pomeroy.
He was the husband of Sally Pomeroy, they were married on April 1, 2003 in Roscommon, MI
David retired from Camp Shawono where he was a social worker. David loved being Grandpa,
he was a member of the Grayling War Games Club where he was known as 'Sgt. Pomeroy',
a military historian, gun collector, and enjoyed deer hunting.
David is survived by
Daughters: Mary Pomeroy-Kowalski of Grayling, MI.
Alexandria Pomeroy of Grayling, MI.
Cheyanna (Matt) Losey of Illinois.
Son:Jonathan Gishler of Roscommon, MI.
Grandchildren: Brandon, Katie, Emily, Skylynn, Mabel, and Ruth
Brother: Thomas (Pam) Pomeroy of Muskegon, MI
Sisters: Rosemary (Dick) Swidorski of Manistee, MI
Beth Pomeroy of Manistee, MI
Several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Grayling, MI .
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2008 between 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on
Wed. Jan. 2, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 3, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grayling, MI, with Father Robert Nalley officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. till 12:30 p.m..
Graveside Services will be held at Mt. Carmel cemetery in Manistee, MI.
Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospital ,
Intensive Care Unit 1100 Michigan Ave Grayling, MI 49738.
