Edmund W. ("Ed") Kleinschmit, Sr. Visitation at Lynch & Sons Wednesday, August 7, 2002 from 3-9PM. Funeral services Thursday, 11 AM at Commerce United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dwight Murphy officiating. Burial in White Chapel cemetery, Friday 11 AM. Mr. Kleinschmit was a retired automotive executive who operated auto parts stores in Michigan, Indiana and Florida. He was a much decorated Veteran of the US Army and recieved the Purple Heart and bar for his service in WW II. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, his son Edmund, Jr. and his daughter Joan Tucker as well as grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Robert Neal Hanson Mr. Hanson, age 51, of Highland, was a registered nurse and a Vista Volunteer. He is survived by several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and loving friends. At his request, no public services are planned. Memorials to the Leukemia Foundation appreciated.

Anthony Charles Gioia of Ferndale, died at his home there on October 3, 2002. The cause of his death has not been determined. He was 34 years old. He was the lead singer for Fine Bone China, a well known Detroit area rock band. A graduate of Clarenceville High School where he played varsity football and basketball, he also worked as a tiler for Clearwater Pools. He is survived by his parents, Anthony Gioia of Milford and Sharon Wilson of North Carolina and step-mother Barbara Gioia; his brother Christopher Gioia of N. Hollywood, CA and grandparents Anthony & Eva Giola of Elizabeth Twp., PA and Charles Wilson of Florida. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held from Lynch & Sons (Richardson-Bird Chapel) 404 East Liberty, Milford, Sunday evening at 8pm. Fr. Leo Lulko will officiate. Friends may visit Saturday 6-9PM and Sunday from 2-9PM. Burial will follow in Round Hill cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. PA on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice. Gary E. Davis, age 56, of Westland and Highland OBITUARY Gary Eugene Davis of Westland, formerly of Highland, died on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor following open heart surgery. He was 56 years old. Born on March 5, 1947 in Knoxville, TN, he was the son of Shirley and Viola (Day) Davis. The family moved to Burton, Michigan where Gary graduated from Atherton High School in 1965, and then to Highland Township. On Valentines Day of 1983, under a pine tree in Toledo, Ohio, he was married to Mary Lou Pepera, with whom he has raised a large and loving family. Mr. Davis spent 18 years as the Transportation Supervisor for Huron Valley Schools and the last 5 years in the same capacity for Wayne-Westland Community Schools. He was a member of the Oakland County and Wayne County Transportation Supervisors Association and served on the Board of the Michigan Association of Pupil Transportation. He was a member of the National Association of Pupil Transportation and the Michigan School Business Officials. He also operated a private consulting business for transportation and bussing officials and was a State Qualified Instructor for the Certified Education Safety Program (Basic and Advanced Principles). Mr. Davis was a 4th Degree Knight and Past Grand Knight of the Fr. John Howard Council #8500 Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit in Highland and St. Theodore’s in Westland. He was also a member of the Holy Spirit Men’s Club. In addition to Mary Lou, his wife of twenty years, he is survived by their children, Lori (Michael) Anaple of Livonia, Gary Michael Davis of Grand Blanc, Matthew (Tammy) Davis of Flint, Melanie(Julie Scribner) Davis of Waterford, Susan King of Westland, Michael (Carol) McManamon of Brighton, and David (Amy) McManamon of Highland. Also surviving are 11 beloved grandchildren; his sister, Marcia (Wayne) Outen, brother Mark (Lisa) Davis; brothers-in-law of Larry (Joanne) Pepera, and the late Thomas (Mary Lou) Pepera, sister-in-law, Sr. Gemma Pepera, C.S.F.N.; many, many dear friends and his Pekinese dog, Mollie. Gary Davis was fond of referring to himself as “A Legend in My Own Mind.” But to his family and many friends he truly is a legend. A loving and romantic husband, a proud and patient father full of good advise, good humor, and good example; a loving grandpa, a generous friend, an excellent boss, and capable teacher, Gary Davis was a man of faith and hope and abundant love whose life will be celebrated and whose death will be mourned. Funeral from Church of the Holy Spirit, 3700 N. Harvey Lake Rd., Highland (N. of M-59), Monday at 10 AM. Fr. Leo Lulko will officiate. Burial in St. Mary’s cemetery, Milford. Patrick D. Loftus, age 87
Patrick D. Loftus, age 87, of Milford, formerly of Harrison, died on April 25, 2003. For 32 years he served as a Police Officer with the Detroit Police Department. Following retirement he moved with his wife Virginia to Harrison where they lived from 1976-2001 before moving to Milford where they lived with their son James. Virginia died in August 2002. Mr. Loftus was a Veteran of WWII, a long time member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3180 and a member of the DPOA. He grew up in Detroit and was a member of Holy Redeemer parish. He is survived by his Daughters, Patricia (Frank) Ball of Lake City and Kathleen (Ali Enaloei)Loftus of Toronto, and sons Michael Loftus of Clinton Twp. and James Loftus of Milford. Also 7 grandchildren, 10 great grand children, and a brother Richard Loftus of Hollis, CA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at Lynch & Sons (Richardson-Bird Chapel)404 E. Liberty, Milford. Fr. Leo Lulko will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery in Harrison, MI. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 2-9PM Rosary Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
