Geraldine C. Fiedler

SOUTH LYON – Geraldine C. Fiedler, 82, of South Lyon, formerly of Monroe, died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday in the South Lyon Home of Compassionate Care.
She had been in declining health since entering the nursing home three years ago and seriously ill for five weeks.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Earle Little Funeral Home, Bacarella Chapel, where services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in Gesthemane cemetery, Monroe.
Surviving are one son, Lynwood A. of Fort Collins, Colo.; three daughters, Diann V. (Roger) Sweet of Monroe, Janice S. (Cyrus) Opfermann of South Lyon and Sandra K. (Chris) Terrasi of Grand Rapids; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Celia M. Donovan
Nov. 21, 1907-Jan. 24, 2003
Celia M. Donovan, 95, of Monroe, a former Carleton florist and a former elementary school teacher in Monroe County for 27 years, died at 7:35 a.m. Friday at the Lutheran Home, Monroe.
She had been in poor health for two years.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Saturday until a memorial service at 11 in the Rupp Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Bauer, pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carleton, will officiate.
Surviving are one daughter, Ann V. (Lawrence) LaFountain of Carleton; one sister, Beulah (Chester) Clark of Florida; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Delores Middleton, and one grandson, Christopher LaFountain.
Beverly J. Kleinsmith

Services have been set for Beverly J. Kleinsmith, 75, of Monroe who died at 9:01 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Memorial Hospital.
She had been in ill health for several years and was recently injured in a traffic accident.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Rupp Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church.
The Rev. Stephen Rooney, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.
Born Oct. 3, 1927, in Monroe, she was the daughter of Alphonse and Irma (Vermuellen) Lietaert.
She married Kenneth H. Kleinsmith June 22, 1946, at St. Mary Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband, surviving are a son, Richard K. (Katherine) of Monroe; a daughter, Jane Ann (Richard J.) Bourbina of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Margaret Nagel and Mary Farner, both of Monroe, and five grandchildren.
Marguerite Clark

NEW BOSTON — Marguerite Clark, 83, of New Boston died at 9 a.m. Monday in her home.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, Huron Township, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday.
The Rev. Ron Harris will officiate.
Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Huron Township.
Born June 10, 1919, in Cheboygan, she was the daughter of Fred and Mary (Black) Young.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Liz) of Northport, Fla., and Rodney (Leah) of New Boston; a daughter, Bonnie (Bob) Boeringer of Caseville; two sisters, Joyce and Aurlie, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dan C. Standifer

Services have been set for Dan C. Standifer, 88, of Monroe, who died at 3:20 a.m. Monday in his home.
He had been in poor health since April.
Friends may call until 9 tonight at Earle Little Funeral Home, Bacarella Chapel.
He will lie in state from 10 a.m. Wednesday at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church until services at 11.
The Rev. Roy Southerland, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle Township.
Born Oct. 11, 1914 in Tazewell, Tenn., he was the son of William H. and Pearlie W. (Wilmont) Standifer. He married Ruth L. Hollors Oct. 4, 1946, in Napoleon, Ohio. He came to Monroe in 1939.
Surviving are his wife and two sisters, Ruth (Herman) Hodge and Katherine Myers, both of Tazewell.
Lawanda Smith

TAYLOR -- Services have been set for Lawanda Smith, 69, of Taylor, who died Saturday at Oakwood Heritage Hospital.
Her children live in Monroe County.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and from noon to 9 Wednesday at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, Huron Township, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Joseph Mallia will officiate.
Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Huron Township.
Surviving are two sons, including Don (Debi) Smith of Monroe; four daughters, including Connie (Bob) Mauro of New Boston; four brothers; three sisters; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Myron L. Jacobs
July 22, 1918-Jan. 27, 2003
ERIE -- Myron L. Jacobs, 84, of Erie died at 10:55 a.m. Monday in his home. He had been in declining health.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Erie location of Bennett Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7 Wednesday.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home and at 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Erie.
The Rev. Joseph Plawecki, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born July 22, 1918, in Erie, he was the son of Lawrence and Margaret (Friedman) Jacobs. He married Margaret Huber Feb. 15, 1947, in Toledo.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah (David) Lajiness Sr. of Erie; a brother, Robert (Elaine); two sisters, Violet (Carl) Labardee of Erie and Joyce (John) Kiley of Monroe; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Irene E. McLaughlin

Services have been set for Irene E. McLaughlin, 101, of Monroe, who died at 6:05 p.m. Sunday at MediLodge of Monroe.
She had been in the nursing home for five months and in poor health since June.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Earle Little Funeral Home, Bacarella Chapel.
She will lie in state from 10 a.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. services at Zion Lutheran Church.
Pastors Gary Tryggestad and Ross Ulrich will officiate.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle Township.
Born Oct. 23, 1901, in Newport, she was the daughter of Louis and Anna (Kull) Yoas.
She married Ralph B. McLaughlin Oct. 23, 1922, at Zion Lutheran Church. He died Sept. 6, 1958.
Surviving are a son, Allan L. of Monroe; a daughter, Irma A. (Charles S. III) McIntyre of Monroe; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
Almyra Maxwell

CARLETON -- Services have been set for Almyra Maxwell, 87, of Carleton, who died Monday at Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 tonight and from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home’s Carleton location.
She will lie in state from 10 a.m. Friday until 11 a.m. services at Carleton United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Robert D. Brenner, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Huron Township.
Born Dec. 11, 1915, in Carleton, she was the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Herman) Williams.
She married George R. Maxwell in 1933 in Angola, Ind. He died July 30, 2000.
Surviving are two sons, George R. (Kit) of Monroe and Robert W. (LeAnna) of Woodhaven; three daughters, Jean (Ben) Baker, Janice (William) Bondy and Cheryl (James) Marlow, all of Carleton; a son-in-law, Ronald Anson of Monroe; a brother, C.J. of Flat Rock; 18 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
