Daniel Paul Furman, 45, of Burton passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at his home.
A memorial service for Danny will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 1 p.m. from Farwell VFW with Minister Gloria Beavers officiating.
Danny was born on June 3, 1960, the son of Robert and Ilene (Cannon) Furman. He attended Clare and Farwell schools and graduated from Carmen Ainsworth High School. Danny loved baseball and bingo.
Danny is survived by his father, Robert Furman and step-mother Iris Furman of Oil City; grandmother, Mabel Hilyard of Farwell; brothers, David (Crystal) Furman of Flint, Andrew Furman of Detroit; step-brother, Jeffrey Willey of Detroit; step-sisters, Lynn McDonald of Virginia and Tamara (Ed) Towns of Mt. Pleasant and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Ilene and uncle, Don Furman.

Sheila Rae Wilson, 40, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Central Michigan Community Hospital.
Funeral services for Sheila will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Doyle Perry officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland cemetery.
Sheila was born on April 13, 1965 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Elsie (Sanders) and Eugene Mark Wilson. She was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and enjoyed walking, shopping, meeting people and spending time with her granddaughter while she watches Elmo.
Sheila is survived by her children, Kyle Wilson and fiancée Tahsheenah Foley, Jacob Wilson, Miranda Wilson and Richard Stubbs all of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Dawnseh Trudi Wilson; parents, Eugene Wilson and Marlene Youmans of Traverse City and Elsie Sanders and Eloy Trujillo of Mt. Pleasant; brothers and sisters, David Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, Gonzalo “Chiquito” Alaniz and Sandra Bennett of Mt. Pleasant, Ramon “Peno” and Judy Alaniz of Mt. Pleasant, Rene, Amber Alaniz of Lake Isabella, Albert Alaniz of Mt. Pleasant, Gilbert Alaniz of Mt. Pleasant and Amada and Randy Hagerman of Farwell and half brother, Kim Aasland.
Sheila was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Georgiana Sanders and Elsie Wilson; grandfathers, William Sanders and Nicholas Wilson; aunt, Trudy Sanders.

Emily Elizabeth Naumes, 89, of Mt. Pleasant joined her Lord on September 28, 2005 at her daughter’s (Theresa and Bruce Eggers) home with her family by her side.
A Funeral Mass for Emily will be held on Friday Sept. 30, 2005 at 12 noon from Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Byrne officiating. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Chapel on Thursday Sept. 29th from 3 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan, Friends of Isabella Seniors or Sacred Heart Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the chapel and the church.
Emily was born July 26, 1916 in Rosebush, Michigan the daughter of Thomas and Emily (House) Archer. Emily graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School (class of 1934), and attended Central Michigan University. She worked for many years at the National City Bank in Mt. Pleasant retiring in 1986. She married Bernard M. Naumes on Oct. 31, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant.
Emily was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of the Hope Ministry, Central Michigan Community Hospital Auxillary. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother who will be missed very much by those her life touched.
Emily is survived by her children, Ann (Ron) Krause – Tucson, AZ., Kay Naumes, Martin (Vicki) Naumes, Dorothy (Mick) Natzel, Joe (Marlene) Naumes, Theresa (Bruce) Eggers, Dan and Pete Naumes all of Mt. Pleasant. Grandchildren, Bill (Maria) McDonald of Tucson, Az., Mick (Tracy) Natzel of Mt. Pleasant, Pat (Nancy) O’Connor of Ohio, Jeff (Marie Sweeney) Natzel – Mt. Pleasant, Kelly Naumes of Essexville, MI, Shannon (Josh) French of Mt. Pleasant, Chris (Cathy) Naumes of Lansing, Brynn Natzel of Mt. Pleasant, Danielle Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, and Nick and Jake Eggers of Mt. Pleasant; step granddaughter, Tiffany Betzer; 4 great-grandchildren, Zachery, Gabriel, Benjamin Natzel and Bryce French. Step grandchildren, Rick and Fallon Falsetta and step-great grandchildren, Makalya and Matthew.

Floyd Whitman, Jr., 79, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2005.
Funeral services for Floyd will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Nathan Prong of Coe Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in the Homer cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29th from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, September 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel.
Floyd was born on January 25, 1926 in Bay City, the son of Floyd and Alice (Davis) Whitman Sr. Floyd married Lilly Jones on April 29, 2005 in Mt. Pleasant. He worked for Dow Chemical for 37 years before retiring in 1982. Floyd also farmed and worked with his brother Wayne in construction. They built several homes in the area. He was a former member of the Mt. Pleasant and Clare Moose Lodge. Floyd enjoyed woodworking, fishing in Canada and hunting in Wyoming.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Lilly M. Whitman of Mt. Pleasant; children, Elaine (Clyde) Thatcher of Shepherd, Maynard Whitman of St. Louis and Deana Klingensmith of Midland; step-children, Gail (John) Chilimigras of New Port Richie, FL, Gene (Sandy) Frantz of Bozarh, CT, Gilda (Ralph) Steadham of Atmore, AL, Grant (Shirley) Frantz of Sanford, Gilbert (Mary) Frantz of Frankfurt and Gavin (Jeanette) Frantz of Midland, TX; six grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and grandson Craig Thatcher in 1991.

Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Monday, December 6, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center Cooper. Age 81 years. Mary K. Schneider was born on July 12, 1923 in Saginaw to the late George and Grace (Manning) Schneider. She married Jim Maine on May 5, 1951 in Saginaw. He survives her. Surviving besides her husband Jim, are three sons and one daughter, Jim M. (Nancy) Maine, De Moines, Iowa; Clifford (Betsy) Maine, East Grand Rapids, Mich.; Dave (Peggy) Maine, Saginaw; Kathleen Maine, Saginaw; eight grandchildren and a sister, Gloria Dirla, Bay City. Mary has now joined her daughter, Gloria Maine in God’s heaven.
Memorial Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2004 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Robert Konopa OFM and Rev. James F. Gavit will co-officiate. Following Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass. passed away Thursday, November 18, 2004 at North West Medical Center of Margate, Florida. Age 70 years. Gladys E. Ellen was born on September 10, 1934 in Saginaw to the late John and Mary (Gonda) Ellen. She married Ronald N. McQueen on August 10, 1954 in Saginaw. He predeceased her on February 20, 1986. Surviving is a son Ronald A. (Merry) McQueen; a grandson Sean McQueen, a father-in-law Rev. A.W. McQueen, all of Margate, Florida; three brothers and four sisters; Bruce, Rich, Dave, Virginia, Milly, Eva and Betty. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Daggett, Charlotte MacKinnon

passed away March 13, 2005 at age 93. Born in Bay City, Michigan May 14, 1911 to Arthur C. MacKinnon and Charlotte Hodgekins MacKinnon. She attended Bay City Central High School and Michigan State University, graduating Class of 1932. She married John H. (Jack) Zuber on January 15, 1938. He died in 1949. On October 2, 1953 she married Wilbur L. Daggett. He died in 1977. Charlotte was a social worker for eighteen years, working with Catholic Family Service and St. Vincentâs Childrenâs Home. A tradition of caring was passed on to her family. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the Saginaw Country Club. She is survived by her daughter, Julia (Gary) Emede of Saginaw; her son, John (Linda) Zuber of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Dean Emede of Saginaw; Julia Ann Emede of San Jose, California; Geoffrey (Linda) Emede of Saginaw and Mark (Suzi) Zuber of Duvall, Washington; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A granddaughter, Julie Zuber-King predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Jessie MacKinnon Swanson and Mary Kirk Woodford. A courageous, inspirational and vivacious spirit, she leaves behind many friends and bridge partners.

passed away Saturday morning March 12, 2005 at the Saginaw Pines Nursing Home. Age 88 years. George Francis Cronin was born November 17, 1916 in San Mateo, Calif. to the late Albert and Katherine (Pike) Cronin. He married Helen A. McPhee on February 22, 1941 in Saginaw, she survives him. George had been employed by Chevrolet Transmission from 1936 to 1946. He then worked for Jewel Tea Co. from 1946 to 1949. George was then employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier from 1949 to 1978. George was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church as well as being a charter member and usher of St. Helen Catholic Church. He was also a former member of the K of C #4322. George served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was an avid bowler and golfer, serving as past-president of the Saginaw Bowling Association.
Surviving besides his wife, Helen, are one son and one daughter and their spouses, Bob and Mary Jo Cronin of Caledonia, Michigan and Kathy and Paul Arnhold of Saginaw; four grandchildren: Kellie and Rob Cronin of Caledonia and Michael and Amy Arnhold of Saginaw; one sister, Aileen Bossman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and three nieces and one nephew.
George was preceded in death by one brother, Robert W. Cronin.

Went home to the Lord, with her family at her side on Monday, March 14, 2005. Age 78 years. Elizabeth Countegan was born March 20, 1926 in Saginaw to the late Joseph & Otillie (Webber) Countegan. She was employed as a beautician and then worked at Saginaw General Hospital until her retirement. Elizabeth was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Hemlock and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are three daughters, Sharon (James) Delorme of Torrance, CA; Betty (Tom) Pike, Spring City, TN; Annette (Dan) Schmidt of Anderson, SC; one son, Joseph (Diane) Archambault of Freeland, MI; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Linus (Sylvia) Countegan; two sisters, Genevieve Purman and Rosemary (Rod) Gast; and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Archambault and Lawrence Cooper; and a sister, Marion Rouesseau.

passed away Friday evening March 25, 2005 at Cartwright Hospice Residence Center.
Age 94 years. Rollo was born to the late Lillian (DeBoer) and Archie Carr in Big Rapids Michigan on April 2, 1910. He married Grace Maxine Brown on September 2, 1939 in Saginaw at First Baptist Church. She survives him. Rollo was a member of First Baptist Church where he was very active in being involved in the spiritual welfare of the church. Rollo had been employed by Dow Chemical, as an accountant retiring in 1975 after 30 years of service.
Surviving besides his wife Grace are his children: John Carr, Paul Carr, Mary Carr Elsen, Tom Carr and his fiancé Brenda Baroody; grandchildren, Shannon (Tina) Carr, Lance (Katie) Carr, Chad (Donna) Carr, Tyrone Carr, Derek Carr, Stephen Newton, Rebekah (Tim) Purdy, Rachel (Michael) Gilbert, Philip Millard, Kyle Carr, Kristen Elsen, Sara Elsen and nine great-grandchildren. Rollo was preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine and Vivian. Rollo’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the great and loving care received from Edgewood Assisted Living Center, Covenant Transitional Care Unit and Cartwright Hospice Residence Center.

passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center Cooper. Age 87 years. Vivian France was born on October 6, 1917 in Saginaw to the late Orval and Helen (Uphoff) France. Vivian graduated from Arthur Hill High School, class of 1936. She was the President of the Mid-Michigan Parents without Partners, was active in the March of Dimes for many years and loved music and sang in both local and national big bands. Vivian was a co-manager of her son's band. Surviving are two sons, Richard and Kathy Bruce, Saginaw; Eugene and Gayle Bruce, Saginaw; grandchildren: Jill (Lee) Phillips, Aurora, Ill.; Randall (Lori) Bruce, McComb, Mich.; Valerie Bruce, Chicago, Ill.; Judy Bruce, Evanston, Ill.; Stephanie Bruce, Lansing, Mich.; Kimberly Bruce, Saginaw; step-grandchildren, Christopher Kellett, Saginaw and Katie Kellett, Saginaw and many nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by a son, Charles Bruce III, a sister, Jean Schulz and a brother, Carl France.

passed away March 4, 2005 in Vestal, New York. She died at her home surrounded by her family. Mary married Andrew Bain in 1984. He preceded her in death. Mary was a very special friend and Mother. She enjoyed many years of bowling and bingo. Mary was a long time member of The Moose Lodge Chapter #420. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Earl Clark of Vestal, New York; grandson, Earl Jr. and granddaughter, Connie Clark of Jarfalla, Sweden. Mary had eight great grandchildren, and five great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her very special friends, Mark and Carrie Ciolek. She is predeceased by her husband and her granddaughter, Andra Sack.

Beloved husband, father and friend passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, February 6, 2005. Age 54 years. Bill was born on October 18, 1950 in Northville, Michigan. He married Carol Magalski on January 14, 1978 at St. Andrew Catholic Church. She survives him. Bill was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. He served three years in the Marine Corps. in Okinawa. Upon his return from the service, he enrolled at Central Michigan University and graduated in 1977. Bill was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was the Director of the Saginaw County Mosquito Abatement Commission since 1994, Regional Director of the American Mosquito Control Association and President of the Michigan Mosquito Control Association. Bill was on the YMCA Camp Timbers Camping Committee. He was a referee of softball and volleyball for the City of Saginaw and for many years, was a frequent volunteer for many organizations throughout the Saginaw Community. Bill was an avid supporter of his sons sporting activities and was a loyal Notre Dame fan and truly loved fishing with his family and friends. Surviving besides his wife, Carol are two sons, Matthew Henry, Western Michigan University and Brian William, Heritage High School; a brother, Chuck (Lura Sue) Lechel, Wilmington, SC; a sister, Diane Lechel, Goshen, Ind.; his step-family, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Henry and Evelyn Magalski, Farwell, Mich.; brothers and sisters-in-law: Janis (Bill) Zielinski, Joe (Karen) Magalski, Nancy (Jim) Klein, Mary Jo (Brian) Hoff, Andy (Nena) Magalski and many nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Lechel, and sister, Mary Bailey.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Rev. Emmett Marceau will officiate. Military services will follow in St. Andrew cemetery under the Auspices of the American Legion Post #22. passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the Chesaning Nursing Care Center after a three-year stay. Age 80 years. Katherine Holton was born June 25, 1924 to the late Clarence and Helen (Bauer) Holton. She was married to Raymond E. Demers Sr. on September 14, 1946 in Midland. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1991. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Katherine enjoyed crocheting and making embroidery quilts. She had been employed by Merritt Packing and Armour Meats. During WWII she worked at the Gun Plant in Saginaw.
Katherine is survived by her children: Helen (Michael) Marsden of St. Charles, Raymond E. (Kristine) Demers Jr. of Merrill, Richard (Martha Meyers) Demers of Merritt Island, Florida, and Ronald Demers and special friend Tracy Heinz of Freeland; four grandchildren, Michael (Shannon) Demers, Christopher Demers, Steven and Andrew Demers; a step-great-grandson Grant; three sisters Beverly Starry; Donna (Chuck) Starry and Dorothy Eff. Also surviving are sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Wayne (Alice) Siler, Lorretta, Shirley, Evelyn, Bernice Demers, and Kenny (Helen) Wolf, also a dear friend Mary Lou McRae. Katherine was preceded in death by a sister Florence; a brother Willard; brothers-in-law Gordon Eff, Ken Starry, Joseph, Jack, Bill, Clement and Frank (Eileen) Demers.

passed away Saturday, April 2, 2005 at St. Francis Nursing Home. Age 87 years. Emilie was born February 28, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Stanimir and Katarina (Gemler) Neshich. She married Nicholas Ergo on October 22, 1936 in LaGrange, Indiana. He predeceased her February 3, 2004 after 67 years of marriage. Emilie was a member of Lake James Property Owners Association. Mrs. Ergo was employed by Michigan Bell as a telephone operator for many years. Mrs. Ergo leaves a daughter, Nicole (Gil) Decker of Saginaw; two grandchildren, Suzanne (John) McFay, Pinehurst, N.C.; Steven C. (Jennifer) Decker, Saginaw; three great-grandchildren, Hunter and Langdon McFay and Steven A. Decker;
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bozidar and George Neshich and her twin sister, Rose Kotch.

passed away Friday March 11, 2005 at his home. Age 83 years.
Robert James Harden was born to the late Robert M.and Louise (Grace) Harden on March 4, 1922 in Perrinton, Michigan. He was married to Mary Tuhy on September 21, 1946 in Saginaw at St. Mary Cathedral. She survives him.
He graduated from Saint Mary Cathedral High School in 1941. Robert enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps for three years from 1942 to 1945, in the South Pacific. He attended General Motors Institute and was employed by Chevrolet Motors Division of GM for 36 years.
Surviving besides his wife Mary, are four sons and three daughters and their spouses; R. James (Paula) Harden of Lowell, MI, Margaret Rodriguerz of Belleville, MI, Hannah (Peter) O'Toole of Saginaw, Martin Tuhy (Lori) Harden of Novi, MI, Betsy (James) Wilber of Elmhurst IL., Paul (Jennifer) Harden of Roseville, MN, and Dennis (Mary) Harden of Westerville, Ohio. Nineteen grandchildren. Two sisters; Patrice (Edward) Deisler of Saginaw, and Ann (Donald) Berlin of Kentwood, MI.
Four brothers; William R. (Mary Lou) Harden of Saginaw, Francis John (Nancy) Harden of Saginaw, Charles Michael (Carla) Harden of Barnstable, Mass., Thomas (Barbara) Harden of Washington, MI. One sister-in-law Janet Harden of Saginaw and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; son-in-law Evaristo Rodriguez; sister Jean Dooley and brother Patrick Harden.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am Tuesday March 15, 2005 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Fr. Leonard Stunek OFM will officiate with Interment at Mt. Olivet cemetery with military burial under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home 2233 Hemmeter (off State) Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Monday from 2:00 to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until time of service. A Vigil service will take place on Monday at 7:30 pm.
