Hazel Mary Parks, age 90, of Alto, went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 28, 2016. She was born in Marlborough, England, and met her husband, Larry, during the war. She and Larry owned WynDean Kennels and raised German Shepherds. She loved her dogs, and also enjoyed flowers and taking care of them. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 72 years, Larry; her children, Dianne (Bob Landheer) Delagandara, Paula Breakey, Sandra Wagenborg, Todd (Stephanie) Parks, Stefani Parks; her grandchildren, Brian Delagandara, Konni Francis, Jeff Delagandara, Wendy Breakey, Kerry (Chad) Nash, Josh (Megan) Wagenborg, Brandon Parks (fiancée Alyssa Christianson), Rachael Parks; great-grandchildren, Alix (Zac), Jacob, Brianna, Leionna, Hythaniel, Kieleigh, Leland; half-sisters, Josie and Jenni; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Bisson; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Vickie Cordes and Linda Mosketti. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Friday, April 1, at Stroo Funeral Home, with Pastor Karen Hooker officiating. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Daniel L. Huizenga, age 60, of Lowell, formerly of Cutlerville, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016, and is now in the arms of Jesus. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Huizenga. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Vickie; his son, Daniel L. Huizenga II and Kimberly Poppleton; his daughters, Tina M. Peters, Selena and Chris DeGrote and their son, Justin; his mother, Virginia M. Huizenga; his sisters and brothers, Charlene (Harold) Isenhoff, Thomas (Sheila) Huizenga, Marvin (Mary) Huizenga, Jackie (Jim) Farrell, Mary (Scott) Cain; and his nieces and nephews. Gary Lee Hanna, age 69, of Caledonia, MI went to be with our Lord and merciful Father on Thursday, March 17, 2016. He was born July 29, 1946, the son of Lawrence and Anna (Johnson) Hanna. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 43 faithful years, Diane; his children, Brian (Brandi) Hanna, Becky (Drew) Nielsen, Heidi (Scot) Morrell, Heather (Kevin) VanDeWeert; 14 grandchildren; brother, Marv (Deb) Hanna; sister, Shirley (Randy) Hartley. His parents preceded him in death. Gary will be remembered as a man who loved and lived for Christ our Savior, which was evident to anyone who knew him. He was fiercely dedicated to his family, proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and had a passion for the outdoors. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, March 21, at Peace Church, 6950 Cherry Valley Rd. Middleville, MI. Interment will take place at South Gaines Cemetery. Tiffany Lea Polmanteer, age 29, of Caledonia, was called home to the open arms of her Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Tiffany loved the Lord and worship. She was a special gift to everyone. So kindhearted and caring, with an infectious smile. She also enjoyed music, her pets, making cards for birthdays, and watching Caledonia football. Her grandparents, Bill and Marge Velthouse, Russell and Rita Polmanteer; and cousin, Taylor Velthouse preceded her in death. She will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Tom and Deb Polmanteer; her brothers, Trevor (Kelsey) Polmanteer, Tyler Polmanteer; her niece, Scarlett; aunts and uncles, Jim (Cheryl) Polmanteer, Russ (Carmilita) Polmanteer, Roger (Sandra) Edgerle, Charlie (Dena) Polmanteer, Scott (Kris) Polmanteer, Bob (Sue) Velthouse, Bill (Val) Velthouse, Tom (Maria) Velthouse; several cousins; and her friends. Hermina (Lynema) Jansens, age 82, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 13, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, on Sunday, March 14, 2010; her parents, Pete and Frances Lynema; and her brother, Leonard Lynema. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Judith (Ray) Stone, Betty (Dick) England, Diane (Daryl) Carey, Linda (Ed) VanKammen; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren with another due to arrive very soon; her sisters, Chris (Phil) Hunter, Corrie Mayhue; many nieces and nephews. The family extends their sincere thanks to all the special caregivers at Spectrum Health Rehab and Nursing on Kalamazoo Ave. for their loving care. Barbara Jean Schuitema, age 75, entered her heavenly home on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Jessamine (VanderHoff) Schuitema. She is survived by her loving brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Phyllis Schuitema; and her nephew and niece, and their children whom she dearly loved: Todd, Ta and Justin Schuitema and Dave, Tami, Veronica, Noah and Ben Chase, her aunts, Betty Bouma, Catherine Tryc, and Joan VanderHoff Quakkelaar, as well as several cousins. Barb enjoyed crafts, having her nails manicured, reading her Bible, and playing bingo with her friend, Angie Verberg. She was a life-long member of Faith Reformed Church, Wyoming, MI. Barb lived at Medilodge (TenderCare) of Wyoming for almost three years where she made many friends and received excellent care and support. Visitation will be held from 10 - 11 am on Thursday, March 31, at Stroo Funeral Home, followed by the service at 11 am with her Pastor Bruce Osbeck. Joel R. Stelt, age 61, of Belmont, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. After earning his Bachelor's Degree, Joel went on to work as a social worker with children for the State of Texas, and after moving to Grand Rapids in 1984, with the State of Michigan. Joel remained a kid at heart as evidenced by his massive collection of toys, comics, models, figurines, books and movies. Preceding him in death are his grandmother, Orpha Fries; his father, James Stelt; and sister, Laurie Stelt. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Sandy; his mother, Mary Lou Stelt, twin brother, Paul; younger sister, Peggy (Art) Merrill; nephews, Ryan (Rosie) Stelt, Eric Merrill, Ethan Merrill; mother-in-law, Barb Wynn; father-in-law, Jim (Betty) Wynn; brother-in-law, Todd (Barb) Wynn; nephew and niece, David Wynn, Faith Wynn; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He worked for Hope Network for 20+ years, and was active in the Plymouth Heights Christian Reformed Church Friendship Group. His parents, Tom and Glenna, preceded him in death.
