RUTH MAY LIBKUMAN
Ruth May Libkuman, 88, of Goodrich, Michigan, formerly of Marlette, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2000 at the Genesys Health Park Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
She lived in Goodrich for the past 22 years.
She was born on June 5, 1911 in Caro, Michigan, the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Moore) Brown. She graduated from Caro High School in 1929, and married
Burleigh Libkuman on July 30, 1933 in Marlette. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1981.
She was a life member of the Marlette First Presbyterian Church and Marlette Eastern Stars Chapter #199.
She is survived by a daughter, Burleyne and Rob Slater of Goodrich; a sister, Orpha Graham of Prudenville, Michigan; two granddaughters, Deleyne and Douglas Hayes of Linden, Michigan and Dana and Paul Manion of Goodrich; a grandson, Daniel Slater of Goodrich; and a great-grandson, Bobby Manion of Goodrich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burleigh; her father, Charles Brown; and her mother, Ethel Moore.
Graveside services were conducted at the Indianfields Township cemetery in Caro on Friday, May 5, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Bowman officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Genesys Rehabilitation Department, Genesys Health Park Hospital in Grand Blanc.

THELMA MAE LAMBERT
Thelma Mae Lambert, 87, of Marlette, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2000 at the Marlette Extended Care Facility in Marlette.
She was born on December 26, 1912 in Clifford, the daughter of the late George and Myrtie (West) McNeil. She was a life long area resident and a 1931 graduate of Clifford High School.
She married
Orville Lambert on August 29, 1931 in Clifford. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1981.
She was a member of the Marlette RLDS church.
She enjoyed flying, camping and being on the go.
She is survived by a son, Wayne and Toots Lambert of Marlette; a daughter, Doris Ann and Ron Brief of Frankenmuth; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Orville Deneen on August 31, 1999; brother, Don and Melvin McNeil; and a sister, Doris Kirkpatrick.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 6, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette with Elders Virgil and Beverly Ryan officiating. Interment was in the West Burlington Township cemetery, Silverwood.
Pallbearers included Terry Lambert, Tim Lambert, Roger Brief, Ron W. Brief, Tom Lambert and Mike Lambert.
Memorials may be made to the Marlette Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
BERNIE WARREN ODE
Bernie Warren Ode, 88, of Marlette died Saturday, April 22, 2000 at Marlette Extended Care Facility in Marlette, MI.
He was born February 2, 1912 in Marlette, Michigan the son of the late Fred and Emma (Douglas) Ode. He as a lifelong area resident.
He married
Eloise Summerville on July 4, 1940, she died in 1966.
He married
Martha (Heimbach) Pollak on November 20, 1969.
He was a gas station attendant for many years, and worked for Marlette Coating.
He is survived by his wife Martha, son John & Mary Ode of Clifford; two stepsons: John & Linda Pollak of Southfield, & Steve Pollak of Arizona, one sister: Bernice Wiegert of Marlette; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Linda in 1973 and Lila Mears in 2000; two sisters, Carrie and Minnie.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at 1:30 pm at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette with Rev. Richard Bokinskie officiating. Interment was in the Marlette cemetery in Marlette.
Memorials may be made to the Marlette Extended Care Facility.
VIDA SULLIVAN
Vida Byrne Sullivan, 96, of Marlette passed away Friday, April 28, 2000 at the Marlette Community Hospital after a very short illness.
She was born on June 5, 1903 in Marlette, the daughter of the late Maud (Peter) and Peter Byrne. She was a life long area resident.
She married
O'Connel Miles Sullivan on June 19, 1923; they were together 58 years. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1981. They farmed all their lives on the farm east of Marlette.
She taught school two years before marriage. She was well known in the area for her oil and China paintings. She was a founding member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Flynn-Elmer Extension Group, and a member of the Flynn Township Farm Bureau.
Survivors include Robert (Barbara) Sullivan of Mount Pleasant, Mi., Jacqueline (Bernard) Freiburger of Cass City, Eleanor Sullivan of Grand Blanc, Mi., and Leo (Lucille) Sullivan of Marlette; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; plus four step-great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband O'Connel, parents Peter and Maud Byrne, brothers, Miles and Pete Byrne; and a sister, Carmen Sullivan.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 1 at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Richard Bokinskie officiating. A Parish Vigil Service was held at the funeral chapel on Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. Interment was at the St. Elizabeth Catholic cemetery in Marlette.

LENA C. HOWARD
Lena C. Howard, 92, of Marlette, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2000 at the Marlette Community Hospital.
She was born on October 25, 1907 to the late Robert and Emma J. (Smith) Ingram.
She married
David W. Howard on February 22, 1930 in Marlette. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1983.
She was a life long resident of Marlette and a member of the Bethel Church of C.M.A.
She is survived by two sons, Karl and Marlyn Howard of Marlette and Warren and Wendy Howard of Brook Park, MN., two daughters, Lois and Bruce MacRae of Cass City and Karen and Roger Thomassen of Springfield, MS., two sisters, Mae Lindsay of Marlette and Louise Custer of Marlette; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; her father, Robert Ingram; her mother, Emma J. Smith; a daughter, Patricia North, brothers, Glen, Lee and Earl Ingram; a sister, Goldie Groat; and grandsons, David Howard and Baron North.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 1, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethel Church of C.M.A. with Pastor Jim Case officiating. Interment was at Marlette cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Bethel Church of C.M.A.
Casketbearers were Howard Cotter, Hunter Howard, Gary Muxlow, Bob Lindsay, David Custer and Robert Ingram.

CHARLES E. LAMB II
Charles E. Lamb II, 75 of Engelwood, Florida, and Marlette, passed away Monday, April 24, 2000.
He was born on July 11, 1925 in Highland Park, Michigan.
He was a former resident of Lake Orion, MI.
He retired as Regional Director of the United Plant Guard Workers of America Union and retired from General Motors Corp. after 30 years.
He was a Marine veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Iris; sons, Charles Lamb III of Lake Orion, MI. and Earl Lamb of Port Charlotte, FL.; a daughter, Charlene Demuth of Port Charlotte, FL.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 1, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with Rev. Mary G. Laub officiating. Interment was at Mooretown cemetery in Snover.

THOMAS A. DIEGEL
Thomas A. Diegel, 68, of Clio died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at McLaren Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Diegel was born November 22, 1931 in Silverwood, Michigan to the late Norman and Elnora (Ryan) Diegel. Mr. Diegel had resided in Clio for 12 years coming from Bay City. He married
Mary Jane Brusie June 13, 1953 in North Branch.
He was U.S. Marine veteran and was a member of the Bay City American Legion Post.
Mr. Diegel was a member of Saints Charles & Helena Catholic Church and the Mt. Morris Knights of Columbus.
He was the vice president and founding partner of General Housing Corporation in Bay City.
Mr. Deigel's favorite past time was spending time with his family.
Surviving are: wife Mary Jane; 5 children: Penny and husband Paul Isenbergh of Miami, FL; Patsy and husband Kevin Schweninger of St. Petersburg, FL; Peter and wife Barbara Diegel of Clio, Paul and wife Laura Diegel of Royal Oak, Phyllis and husband Darrel Holland of Clio. 8 grandchildren: Theresa, Thomas, Jane, Jessica, Bradley, Michael, Paul Nathan and Jacob. 2 brothers: Frank Diegel of Lapeer and Jim Diegel of Fostoria and many friends. Mr. Diegel was also preceded in death by his brother Eugene and sister Reita Flannigan.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 3, 2000 at Saints Charles & Helena Catholic Church in Clio with Rev. Fr. Gerald J. Ploof officiating.
Burial to follow in St. John's cemetery in North Branch at 2:30 pm.
Visitation has held at the Whipple-O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Monday from 1-4 and 6-9 and Tuesday from 1-8 pm.
