KRISTEN LYNN BOYLE
Kristen L. Boyle, 14, of Kingston, died February 16, 2001 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Saginaw from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born May 22, 1986 in Saginaw to Michael and Pamela (Allan) Boyle.
Kristen was a Freshman at Kingston High School. She participated in Volleyball and Track. She enjoyed swimming, shopping and spending time with her friends. Kristen hoped to be a marine biologist.
She is survived by her mother, Pamela (Harry Perkins) Boyle; brothers: Michael Bennett Boyle of Caro, Benjamin Bennett Boyle of Kingston; sister, Candice Ann Boyle of Kingston; grandparents: Marvin and Elizabeth Lambert of Kingston, Frank and Tonna Boyle of St. Helen, Beverly Allan of Caro; aunts and uncles: David and Michelle Allan of Caro, Newt and Debbie Robinson of Caro; cousins: Lynda Robinson, Michael Robinson, Brian Robinson, Travis Parrish and Tiffany Parrish. She is preceded in death by her father, Michael Boyle and grandfather, David Allan.
Funeral services were held 11:00 am Saturday. February 24 in Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund. Interment was held in Dayton Center cemetery, Caro.

ROBERT C. NEUMANN
Robert C. Neumann, age 89, died Monday, February 12, 2001 at Marlette Extended Care Facility in Marlette, MI.
Mr. Neumann has lived in Marlette, Michigan since 1947.
He was born August 12, 1911 in Jackson, Mississippi son to the late Wencel A. and Amber (Cooley) Neumann.
He married
Lucille I. Schmid April 10, 1937 in East Lansing, Michigan, she passed away January 15, 1989.
Mr. Neumann was Publisher, owner operator of the Marlette Leader Newspaper 40 years, retiring in the early 1970's. He was a member of the Marlette Lions club, Marlette Area Chamber of Commerce, Marlette Civil Air Parole, Marlette Masons, Shriners and life member of the Marlette First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two sons Robert and Kimberly of Mason, MI, Donald and Patricia Neumann of Alpena, MI, two brothers: Paul and Florence Neumann of Beaver Island, MI, Wencel Neumann Jr. of Clemson, SC., five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 17, 2001 at 11:00 am at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with Rev. Kenneth Parker of Marlette First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in the Marlette cemetery in Marlette.
Memorials may be given to the Marlette First Presbyterian Church.
Honorary casket bearers were Wencel A. Neumann Jr., Paul Neumann, Robert E. Neumann, Jason Neumann, David Neumann, Janine Neumann and Joseph Neumann.

VERCILLA "DONNA" SHEETS
Vercilla "Donna" Sheets, 62, of Marlette, formerly of Dryden passed away. Thursday, February 8, 2001 as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born May 16, 1938 in Ann Arbor and was raised by foster parents William and Wanda Wilson.
She married
Leo Sheets on September 4, 1956 in Almont. She was a past member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Marlette where she sang in the choir.
She had been a volunteer in the kitchen at Dryden Elementary School. She loved painting and working her puzzle books.
She is survived by her husband Leo, her children Donald (Debbie) of Flint, Teresa (Richard) Russell of Marlette, David (Susan) of Metamora, Hazel (Ross) Schrall of Marlette, Marilyn (Doug) Sloan of North Branch, Sally (Ron) Haggdone of St. Helen and Kelly (Richard) McCauley of Dryden ; 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; her foster mother Wanda Wilson of FL, one brother Donald Hogan of Flint, one sister Hazel Crane of MI and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her foster father and one brother Daniel.
Visitation was held Monday, February 12 from 5-9. Tuesday from 2-9 pm with a rosary at 7:30 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont. Funeral mass will be said on Wednesday at 11 am at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden with Rev. Fr. Wayne Ureel officiating. Burial was be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery in Imlay City.
NORMALEEN RUTH SORENSEN
Normaleen Ruth Sorensen, 75, of Burnside Twp. Brown City, died Friday, February 2, 2001 at Marlette Community Hospital in Marlette, Michigan.
She was born February 1, 1926 in Marlette, Michigan the daughter of the late William and Mae (Brown) Cooper.
She was a lifelong area resident, a 1944 graduate of Marlette High School.
She married
Frederick S. Sorensen on February 2, 1946 in Juhl, Michigan, he died on February 25, 2000.
Normaleen was a homemaker and worked on the farm.
She is survived by one daughter Charlene and David Gingell of Brown City; one son William Sorensen of Brown City; two grandsons Fredric Gingell and Destain Gingell of Brown City; one brother William and Sandi Cooper of Marlette; two sisters Ula Roggenbuck of Marlette and Ruthaleen and Clare Richardson of Marlette, several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother James, and a sister Una Ingalsbee.
Visitations were held at the Marsh Funeral Chapel on Sunday from 3-9 and on Monday from 2-9. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette with Rev. Larry VanSlambrook officiating.
Burial was held in the Marlette cemetery in Marlette, MI.
Casketbeares were Larry Kohler, Donald Martus, Jerry Cooper, Mel Bednaryczk, Duane Campbell, Dick Crothers. Honorary Casketbeares were Fredric Gingell, and Destain Gingell.

DICK A. MARKLE
Dick A. Markle, 79, of Port Richey, FL died Sunday, January 14, 2001.
He was born June 2, 1921 in Clifford to Harry Avis and Gladys (Page) Markle. He married
Virginia (Farthing) Markle in Kansas City, MO.
He graduated from Marlette Community High School in 1938. He was an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and later with the Cleveland Flight Operations Center. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Port Richey, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia; daughter, Eileen Riker of New Port Richey, FL; sisters, Betty Easton of Charlotte, NC, Shirley Stevens of Marlette, Beverly Robinson of Fernandina Beach, FL, Colleen Ford of Clifford, and Joann Dost of Silverwood; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contribution may be made to Hernando Pasco Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson, FL 34667.
Memorial services were held Jan. 20, 2001 at Faupel Funeral Home in Port Richey, FL.

A memorial service will be conducted for Dale E. Conklin on Sunday, February 11, 2001 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Clifford.
DONNA LEONE VINING
Donna Leone Vining, age 63, formerly of Snover passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2001 after an extended illness.
She was born July 24, 1938 in Decker, MI to the late Don and Iva Vining.
She enjoyed making quilts, doing crafts, and sewing gifts and clothing for family and friends.
She is survived by four daughters: Roxanna (Ford) Crofton, Snover, MI; Angela Ferguson, Rocky Face, GA; Kimberly (Bob) Lutz, Rocky Face, GA; and Shawn (Shawn) Toole, Severn, MD., Four sons: Steven Ford, Chattanooga, TN; Tony (Diane) Ford, VA Beach, VA; Pat (Chris) Ford, Nokomis, FL; Vincent (Valerie) Ford, Northport, FL, 27 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Three brothers: Robert (Betty) Vining, Port Huron, MI; Pete (Vi) Vining, Shabbona, MI; Ron (Leona) Vining, Richmond, MI: one sister: Doris (Lee) Galloway, Decker, MI and many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her.
She was preceded in death by daughter Sherrie, sister Mary Ann Donley, brother Max Vining and great-granddaughter Amanda Ford.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in the spring with burial in Mooretown cemetery Snover, MI.

JEANNE PAULETTE STRACH
Jeanne Paulette Strach, age 73, of Clifford, Michigan died Saturday, February 3, 2001.
She was born November 10, 1927 in Paris, France to Mr. and Mrs. Corne.
She married
Roman Joseph Strach on June 5, 1971 in south Carolina.
Mrs. Strach worked in the plastic mold industry.
She is survived by step-children: Patricia Ann Strach of Lapeer, Mary (Ron Rahilla of Metamora and Joseph John Strach of Lapeer. Grandchildren: Mark Cassidy, Matthew Cassidy, Michael Cassidy and Joseph J. Strach, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roman "Joe" Strach, one sister, one brother and her parents.
Services were Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at 10:00 m at Immaculate Conception Church in Lapeer, MI with Father Janusz Iwan and Deacon Jerry DeShaw officiating. Burial was in Fort Custer National cemetery, Augusta, Michigan.
Arrangement were made by Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer, MI.
MADELINE JEAN KARDELL
Madeline J. Kardell, age 60, home maker died Thursday, February 1, 2001 at Bay Medical Center in Bay City, Michigan.
Mrs. Kardell lived in Clifford, Michigan as as previously from Lake Orion, Michigan.
She was born to Sidney and Jeannette (Grant) Polan on July 27, 1940 in Lake Orion, Michigan.
She graduated from Lake Orion High School in 1958.
She married
Raymond D. Kardell on October 11, 1958 at the Lake Orion First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Kardell is survived by her beloved husband Raymond, daughter Krystal and Robert Bates of Marlette, MI, son Kevin Kardell of Clifford, MI, grand daughters Desiray Bates of Marlette, MI, and Nicole Kardell of Clifford, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Philip.
She was an active member of the Clifford Baptist Church where she served as pianist and choir director for over 25 years. She was church secretary, deaconess, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher for over 25 years. She was president, vice-president of the Ladies Missionary. She played piano and organ form weddings and funerals.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2001 at 1:00 pm at the Clifford Baptist Church in Clifford, Michigan with Rev. Tim Rich officiating. Burial was held in the Marlette cemetery in Marlette. Donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association or Kidney Foundation.
