SHEILA J. FOX
Sheila J. Fox, 47, of Kingston, MI. died Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at Marlette Extended Care Facility in Marlette, MI. She has lived in Kingston, MI since 1991 and was previously from Cass City, MI.
She was born January 4, 1954 in Sandusky, MI. daughter to Walter and Ruby (Chappel) Grow.

She graduated from Kingston High School in 1972 and had worked at the Walbro Corporation in Cass City for the past 29 years.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Fox of Kingston, MI; mother, Ruby Grow of Kingston, MI.; brother, Arnold (Diane) Grow of Pontiac, MI.; sisters, Arlene (David) Clinesmith of Kingston, MI, Virginia Grow and Fernando Zaldivar Sr. of Lansing, MI., Susan Grow and Troy Ruff of Lansing, MI. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter A. Grow.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 20, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with Rev. Kenneth Parker of the Marlette First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was held in the West Burlington cemetery in Silverwood, MI.

Memorials can be donated to the United Hospice Service or American Cancer Society.

Casket bearers were Timothy Clinesmith, Christopher Clinesmith, Kevin Clinesmith, Shawn Grow, Fernando Zaldivar Jr. and James Zaldivar.

Arrangements were made by Marsh Funeral Chapel, Inc. in Marlette, MI.

WARD H. HENDRICK
Ward H. Hendrick, 83, of Reedville, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at Marlette Community Hospital in Marlette, MI.
Mr. Hendrick has lived in Reedville, PA., since 1973 and was previously from Marlette.

He was born December 18, 1917 in Clifford, Michigan, son to the late Alexander and Lucy (Ward) Hendrick.

He graduated from Kingston High School and served in the U.S. Army Aircore during WW11.

He married Wilma Searles on March 29, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was a member of the Marlette First Presbyterian Church.

He worked in sales for General Coach in Marlette and Marlette Homes in Lewistown, Pennsylvania until his retirement in 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; daughters, Sharon (Don) Bishop of Monticello, MS, Crystine Hendrick of Beaufort, SC.; grandsons, Jeff Bishop of Athens, GA, Robert Blose of Lexington, SC, and Michael Heinermann of Beaufort, SC.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Morsia Stolt.

Cremation has taken place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City MI.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be given to the donation of your choice.

ROBERT JAMES "SULLY" SULLIVAN
Robert James Sullivan, age 77 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, July 8, 2001.
He as born March 17, 1924 in Marlette, the son of O'Connell "Miles" and Vida (Byrne) Sullivan.

He married Barbara Lou Wenzlaff on August 21, 1954 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Deford.

Sully graduated from Marlette High School in 1942. He enlisted in the Air Force flying 35 missions out of Grafton-Underwood, England, in a B17 in the 384th Bomb Group.

After graduating from CMU he spent five years teaching and coaching at Kingston. Next, he coached and taught for 10 years at Marysville High School.

Upon receiving his Master's degree he became an assistant professor in the Physical Education Department and an assistant football coach at CMU. In time be became Administrator of Teacher Certification. He coached at Sacred Heart Academy and is his retirement, coached and was the athletic director at Coleman High School.

He loved in life was the "Game." He felt it was an outstanding avenue in which to guide young lives. He coached football for 44 years. During that time he nourished numerous souls for which he was always grateful.

His love of life extended also to the community. He served on Union Township boards for many years and was elected Township Supervisor.

Three great honors presented to him were the Rotary International Distinguished Citizenship Award in 1876, being inducted into the Michigan High School Football Hall of Fame in 1995, and recognition as a Track and Field Starter for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Mt. Pleasant, three daughters Terry Ann Sullivan of Mt. Pleasant, Michelle Marie Reed of Marion and Christine Elizabeth Sullivan of Mt. Pleasant; two sons Robert Miles Sullivan of Mt. Pleasant and James Edward (Lisa) Sullivan of St. Louis; 20 grandsons; two sisters, Eleanor Sullivan of Grand Blanc and Jacqueline (Bernard) Freiburger of Cass City, and a brother Leo (Lucille) Sullivan of Marlette. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Shirley (Gary) Koehler of Kingston; and a brother-in-law Louis (Sharon) Wenzlaff of Kingston.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 13, 2001 at 11 am from St. Elizabeth Church with Father Richard Bikinskie officiating. Interment will be in Marlette cemetery.

Visitation was held Wednesday from 5:30-9:00 pm at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with a vigil service beginning at 8pm. Visitation continued at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette on Thursday from 7-9 and again at the church on Friday from 10-11a m.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Central Michigan or to the Sullivan College Fund.

RANDY E. WILSON
Randy E. Wilson, age 33, Electronics Technician died Thursday, July 12, 2001 at his home in Bay City, Michigan. He had lived in Bay City, Michigan for 3 years and was previously from Caro and Marlette.
He was born April 11, 1968 in Davenport, Iowa son to R. Grant Wilson and Charme L. Froehner. He graduated from Marlette High School in 1986, received his associated degree in Electronic from Baker community College in 1992.

He is survived by his father R. Grant (Doris) Wilson of Marlette, mother Charme Froehner of Caro, MI, sisters Ginger (Brian) Stamp of Marlette, Star ( David) Sutphin of Rochester Hills, grandmother Mildred Froehner of Caro, and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 16, 2001 at 11:00 am in the Marlette First United Methodist in Marlette with Rev. Daniel Bowman officiating.

Interment was held in the Marlette cemetery.

Casket bearers were: Brian Stamp, Dave Sutphin, Bill Witucki, Don Hoig, Shawn Varey and Mark Brown.

Memorials may be donated to the Michigan Brain Injury Alliance.

Arrangements were made by Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, MI.

CHRISTINE R. TYLER
Christine R. Tyler, 88, of Caro died Wednesday, July 4, 2001 in St. MaryÕs Medical Center, Saginaw.
She was born December 17, 1912 in Fife Lake, MI to William A. and Glaidies (Davis) Prindle. She married Elmer L. Tyler December 12, 1946 in New Mexico. He died October 11, 1963.

Christine worked as a babysitter in homes in Royal Oak when the mother was hospitalized. She retired from Upjohn Pharmaceuticals where she worked in Home Nursing.

She was a member of the Kingston Wesleyan Church and sang in its choir. She enjoyed traveling especially in California and she loved gardening.

She loved her animals, chickens, geese, ducks and turkey. She hadn't bought an egg since 1973.

She is survived by her sister, Marcella Guild of Riverdale; brother Harry (Katherine) Prindle of Madison Heights, nephew, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret, sister, Gertrude, 2 nephews and 2 aunts.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 6 in Kingston Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ken Sandefur officiating. Interment was held in Roseland Park cemetery, Royal Oak.

Arrangements were made by Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston, MI.

ROBERT JAMES SULLIVAN
Robert James Sullivan, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, MI., formerly of Marlette, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2001 at his residence in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette.

IVAN L. SPRINGSTEAD
Ivan L. Springstead, 72, of Bradenton, Florida, and West Branch, Michigan died Wed., June 27, 2001, in Bradenton, Florida.
He was born January 31, 1929 in Marlette, Michigan son to the late Earl and Verna (Hurd) Springstead.

He married Irene Stewart September 26, 1953 in Redford Twp. Michigan.

He graduated from Marlette High School in 1947, served in the U.S. Airforce during WWII, and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Mr. Springstead worked as a electician for the Detroit City School Systems for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife Irene, three sons Stephen and Judy Springstead of Decker, MI; Philip and Laurice Springstead of Portage, MI, David Springstead of Farmington, MI; one daughter Patricia Wiley of Holt, MI, one brother Kenneth and Margaret Springstead of Snover, MI. step brother Milton and Brenda Phillips of Cass City, MI, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald Springstead, Step sister Peggy Regernus and son-in-law Roger Wiley.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 2, 2001 at 1:00 pm in the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with rev. Gary Butterfield of Lamotte Missionary Church officiating. Burial was held in the Mooretown cemetery in Snover.

DELORES JEAN RICE
Delores Jean Rice, 69, of Hudson, Florida, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at her home in Hudson, Florida.
She was born in Louisa, Kentucky and moved to Hudson from Warren, MI in 1983.

She was retired as a LPN at National Health Care, Hudson, Florida.

Survivors are: one son Joseph F. Rice of Hudson, FL; two daughters: Joetta G. Gorny of Sterling Height, MI, Jeanette Shaw of Port Rickey, FL, one sister Norma Osborne or Arcanum, OH; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

Services were at Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Homes, Hudson, Florida.
