RACHEL YVONNE SUTPHIN
Rachel Yvonne Sutphin, 31, passed away Monday, January 26, 2004 in Marlette Township.
She lived in Marlette for eight years and was previously from the North Branch area.
She was born on April 25, 1972 in Lapeer, Michigan, daughter to Robert and Rhana (Bishop) Gohsman.
She married
James Sutphin on May 19, 1990 in Lapeer, Michigan.
She was a very active volunteer for A.Y.S.O. and loved to help people and do fund raisers.
She worked for seven years for Lear Corporation in Marlette.
She received her associates degree from Delta College where she became a Phlebotomist.
She is survived by her husband, James; a son, Anthony Sutphin of Marlette; daughters, Candace and Mariah Sutphin of Marlette; father, Robert Gohsman of Arizona; mother, Rhana Gohsman and friend Roger Seib of Columbiaville, MI.; a brother, Robert Gohsman Jr. of North Branch; sister, Rhondelle and Kevin Chambers of North Port, AL.; grandmother, Muriel Bishop of Auburn Hills, MI.; several aunts, uncles and cousins and many special friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lamotte Missionary Church with Pastor Gerald Steele and Pastor Gary Butterfield officiating. Interment was in Marlette cemetery.
Donations may be given to the family.

JUNIOR CLAUDE BROWN
Junior C. Brown, 71, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg.
He lived in Lawrenceburg for three years and was previously from the Marlette area.
He was born on February 16, 1932 in Columbiaville, Michigan, son to the late Earl and Myrtle (Landon) Brown.
He graduated from Marlette High School in 1950.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Watertown Missionary Church in Sandusky, the American Legion Post 7 in Caro, and was very active in the Marlette Boy Scout Troop #328.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Lawrenceburg, TN.; a son, Bryan and Chris Brown of Decker, Michigan; a daughter, Kelly and Brian Hillis of Indianapolis, IN.; a brother, Jerald and Diane Brown of Port Huron, MI.; sisters, Nina and James Lowe of Wickliffe, OH. and Eleanor and Walter Burger of Livonia, MI.; grandchildren, Hali and Erin; one step-son, two step-daughters, and several step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, a sister and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 1, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette with Pastor Wilbur Rickett officiating. Interment was in the Rich cemetery in Mayville.
Memorials may be given to the family.
KYLE M. JAMES
Kyle M. James, 5, of Decker, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2003 in Saginaw, Michigan.
He was born on February 23, 1998 in Saginaw, Michigan, son to Dan and Beth (Broda) James.
He attended the Headstart program at the Marlette Bea McDonald Elementary School and the Heritage United Methodist Church in Snover, Michigan.
He is survived by his parents, Dan and Beth James; brothers, Brian and Conner James of Decker, MI; grandparents, Harold and Lois James of Marlette and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel David James.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 2, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage United Methodist Church in Snover with Rev. David Fleming officiating. Interment was at the Moshier cemetery in Hemans, Michigan.
Memorials may be donated to the family.

EUNICE H. L. KITT
Eunice H. L. Kitt, 96, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at the Marlette Extended Care Facility in Marlette.
Mrs. Kitt lived in Marlette for the past 53 years and was previously from the Ferndale area.
She was born on July 9, 1906 in Lewiston, Michigan, daughter to the late James and Lilly (South) Crooker.
She graduated from the Co. Normal Teacher College in Ontario, Canada in 1926.
She married
Raymond Kitt July 31, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1984.
She was a member of the Marlette Community of Christ Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Ruth and Lloyd Maynard of Marlette, Grace and Don Fraleigh of Brown City, Eunice May of Marlette and Lois Greenzweig of Clifford; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Edith, Cora, Goldie and Gladys.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, May 30, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with Elder Eric Foster officiating.
Interment was in Marlette cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Marlette Community of Christ Church.
Casketbearers included Rod Koglin, Mike Fraleigh, John Maynard, Bob Earl Jr., Brian Fraleigh and Scott Maynard.
OLIVER L. MCMANN
Oliver L. McMann, 71, of Lapeer passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2003.
He was born on August 1, 1931 in Marlette, son of the late Gordon and Coris (Simon) McMann.
He married
Norma Jean Kelly on January 26, 1952 in Marlette.
He worked for Fisher Body Plant 1 Division of General Motors for 27 years, retiring in 1974. He loved his family the most. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean McMann of Lapeer; children, Vickie (Aaron) Martin of Clifford, Karen (Chuck) McCombs of Wilmot, MI., Oliver "Mick" McMann, Jr. of Lapeer and Gordon OBuckÓ (Laura) McMann of Columbiaville; many adopted children; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild and siblings, Wayne McMann, Butch McMann, Dale McMann, Ralph McMann and Leatha Sailor.
He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Sandra McCombs; parents, Gordon and Doris (Simon) McMann; and brothers, Frank McMann, Neal McMann and Lawrence McMann.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer with Pastor Randy Hotchkiss officiating.
RUTH ANN ROBINSON
Ruth Ann Robinson passed away May 14, 2003 as the result of an automobile accident in Bend, Oregon. She was 76.
She was born on February 17, 1927 in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Luanna Terlisner. She moved to Bend, Oregon in 1943 and graduated from Bend High School in 1945.
She married
Vernon Robinson in Bend in 1962.
She was vice-president of her senior class, prom queen and worked on the school newspaper. Later, she was runner-up in the Mrs. Oregon contest, turning down the winner's spot so as to not take time from her family.
She worked for the Idaho Daily Statesman and later with the Bend Bulletin. She was office secretary at the City of Bend Police Department and was Court Bailiff. She later worked as a legal secretary. She was active in the Pilot Butte State Park volunteers organization.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon; sister, Susan Spence; daughters, Vickie Mcnutt, Connie Johnson, Linda Blanton, and Rebecca Bowe; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara Kite and a brother, Larry Terlisner.
Graveside services were conducted Sunday, May 18, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pilot Butte cemetery followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Westside Church.

NORMAN W. SHOEMAKER
Norman W. Shoemaker, 76, of Elmer Township, Sandusky, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at his home. He was a life long area resident.
He was born on September 18, 2003 in Marlette, son of the late Elmer and Rachel (Minard) Shoemaker.
He married
Marion Bowren on July 2, 1966 in Marlette. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2003.
He was a farmer, landscaper and carpenter.
He enjoyed draft horses and, most of all, his family.
He is survived by a two sons, Charles and Linda Shoemaker of Watervliet, MI. and Richard and Connie Shoemaker of Snover, MI.; a daughter, Barbara and Art Stimson of Brown City, MI.; grandchildren, Debbie and John Hurley, Amy and Todd Winter, Belinda and Jimmy Green, Tom and John Stimson, Ann and Jim Wagester and Brian McMaster; great-grandchildren, Levi and Seth; sisters, Dorothy Welch and Ruth Schell of Detroit, MI. and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife,; brothers, Russell, Walter, Charles and Otis and a sister, Wilma.
Cremation has taken place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City.
A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the United Hospice Service or a donation of choice.
