RUTH ANN WESCH
Ruth Ann Wesch, 59, of Oxford, Michigan, died Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich.
She was born in Marlette, Michigan on September 5, 1945 the daughter of Donald and Charlotte (Wahl) Miles.
She lived in the Oxford area most of her lifetime. She and David Wesch were married
in Marlette on August 28, 1965 and he preceded her in death in 1975.
She was employed the last 17 years by Lawrence Boensch Co. in Oxford. She was a champion knitter and was currently working on a project of knitting Chemo Therapy Caps.
Surviving is her daughter, Angela Wesch of Flint; a brother, Donald Miles and wife, Sandy of Des Moines, Iowa. Also surviving is a niece, Robin Miles and a nephew, John Miles.
Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held later. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.

BRYAN J. CHRISTENSEN
Bryan J. Christensen, 15, a life long resident of Marlette, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2005 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.
He was born on August 7, 1990 in Lapeer, Michigan son to Earl Christensen and Amy Eagle.
He is survived by his father, Earl (Holly) Christensen of Marlette; mother, Amy Eagle of Pigeon; a brother, Earl Christensen 111 of Marlette; twin sisters, Ashley and Haley Christensen of Marlette; grandparents, Earl (Barb) Christensen of Brown City and Dale (Joann) Eagle of Melvin and several aunts, uncles, cousins and step-grandparents.
He was starting 10th grade at Marlette High School.
He enjoyed playing football, basketball, motorcycles and hunting.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with Rev. Kenneth R.M. Norcross officiating.
Interment will be at the Marlette cemetery. Memorials may be donated to the family.
Visitation will continue on Wednesday, August 17 from 12 noon until the time of the funeral at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette.
OLA JEAN KNAGGS
Ola Jean Knaggs, 80, of Marlette, died Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Lapeer Regional Hospital in Lapeer, Michigan.
She was born March 05,1925 in Marlette, Michigan the daughter of the late Alfred and Lorene (Burtch) Gorsline.
She was a lifelong area resident, a member of the Marlette Baptist Church, and a past member of the Marlette Hospital Grey Ladies and the Marlette VFW Auxzilary.
She married
Raymond Knaggs on June 21, 1941, he died on November 9, 1998.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas & Shirley Knaggs of Lum, Gene & Peg Knaggs of Lincoln Park and Mike & Sandy Knaggsof Wisconsin; a daughter, Marlene & George Lazar of Attica; a brother,John & Barbara Gorsline of Indiana, eight grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sisters, Mary Wierzba, Thelma Smith, Ellen Kettlewell.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette, with Rev. Jerry Schriber officiating.
Burial was in the Marlette cemetery in Marlette. Casket bearers were Sherry Castellanos, Lisa Burditt, Theresa Steckly, Tracy Lazar, Angie Guyaux.

GEORGE A. HOBSON
George A. Hobson, 63, died suddenly Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City, Michigan. He was a life long area resident of Marlette.
He was born May 11, 1942 in Pontiac, Michigan son to the late Ernie Hobson and Gladys (Benjamin) Reamer.
He married
Kay Tallieu December 2, 1983 in Marlette.
He worked for C & H Heussner Farms the past 41 years.
He enjoyed working on farm equipment, fishing, hunting, camping, and most of all his family.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye Hobson of Marlette; sons Douglas Hobson of Marlette, MI.; daughter, Penny and Bryan Wiegert of Marlette, MI.; son, Gordie Cox and fiancee Helen of Raleigh, NC.; daughter ,Stacy and Michael Schneider of Bad Berleburg, Germany; grandsons, Andrew and Tyler Hobson of Marlette; granddaughter, Krystal and Katelyn Wiegert of Marlette; three brothers; seven sisters and special friends Harold and Marge Heussner and Chris and Angie Heussner of Marlette.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernie Hobson, Gladys and Donald Reamer, and daughter in law Venae Hobson.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 5, 2005 at 11 A.M. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Rev John R. Allan officiating.
Burial will be in the Germania cemetery.
Memorials may be donated to the family.
Casketbearers were Justin Martin, Jimmy Northrop, Tyler Hobson, Andrew Hobson, Joe Tallieu and Andy Tallieu.
Honorary casketbearers were Chris Heussner and Jeff Wiley.
DENISE J. DOHERTY
Denise J. Doherty, 54, died suddenly Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan.
Mrs. Doherty lived in Burnside Twp. and was previously from Independence, MO. She was born March 13, 1951 in Independence, Missouri daughter to Clifford and Roberta (Denham) DeKesel.
She graduated from Fort O Sage High School in 1969.
She received her R.N. degree from the Research Medical College in Kansas City, Missouri.
She married
James Doherty on October 7, 1972 in Independence, Missouri.
She was R.N. for the Lapeer Regional Hospital the past 30 years. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, James Doherty of Brown City, MI.; mother, Roberta DeKesel of Independence, MO.; son, Mike Doherty (fiancee Brook) of Grand Rapids, MI.; daughters, Janice (Bill) Fritz of Mason City, IA. and Karen (Paul) Roy of Imlay City, MI.; sisters, Dianne (Gean) Cooper of Kansas City, KS. and Donna (Frank) Lamettery of Tampa FL., and grandson Austin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford DeKesel.
Cremation has taken place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, MI.
A memorial mass was held on Saturday, July 30th at 11 a.m. in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marlette, with Fr. Reginaldo Salcedo officiating.
Memorials may be donated to the American Cancer Society.

DORCUS E. FOX
Dorcus E. Fox, 84, life long resident of Marlette, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Marlette Extended Care Facility.
She was born August 4, 1920 in Sandusky, Michigan daughter to the late George and Effie (Felker) Smith.
She married
Garland R. Fox May 4, 1940 in Kentucky. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1995.
She and her husband owned and operated Fox’s Store for 23 years retiring in 1979. She was a long time member of the Marlette First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by sons, Bruce (and Caroline) Fox of Brown City, MI. and Scott Fox of Hadley, MI.; daughter, Judy (Jim) Welch of Peck, MI.; brother, Leon (Betty) Smith of Bradenton, FL.; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Roy and Loren, and sisters, Marjorie, Ruby, Violet, Maude and Winnie.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 29, 2005 at 11 A.M. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Rev. John R. Allan officiating.
Burial was at the Marlette cemetery in Marlette.
Memorials may be donated to the United Hospice Service Chair lift fund.

GRACIA FRANCES HERGENREDER
Gracia Frances Hergenreder, 92 of Kingston, died peacefully in her home with her family at her side Friday, July 22, 2005.
She was born October 26, 1912 at home in Peck to Theron and Frances (Dunn) VanSickle. She married
Theodore “Ted” Hergenreder September 27, 1938 in Detroit. He died January 17, 2000.
She graduated from Peck High School. She and Ted farmed. When Ted had his back problems, Gracia did the milking and raised their family. Gracia was famous for her home baked cinnamon rolls and her beautiful flower gardens. She loved her grandchildren and truly enjoyed the babies. Gracia’s bible study and worship services were very important to her and for years were held in her home.
Gracia is survived by her daughters; Muriel (William) Beltz of Oxford and Arlene (the late Wayne) Nichols of Lake Orion; grandchildren, Cherie Dawn (Mark) Beltz Edwards of Cedar Springs, Wendi Noel (Jeffrey) Beltz Bennett of Spring, TX. and William Dean Beltz 11 of Davison; great grandchildren, Raymond Edwards, Theodore Edwards and Brendan Bennett; sister, Ethel Beardslee of Newberry; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers and sister; Herold VanSickle, Knessie Welt, Lilas Dingman, Theron Verde VanSickle, Charlott K. “Lottie” Essex, Milne VanSickle and an infant brother.
Funeral services held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2005 in Kranz Funeral Home-Cass City with Lecit Sullivan officiating. Interment was in the Kingston cemetery. Memorials may be made to United Hospice of Marlette.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Hergenreder were Gene Hergenreder, Karl Thom, Arlo Ruggles, Lloyd Fredrick, Clinton VanSickle and Howard Beardslee.
