SALLIANNE LINDSAY
Sallianne Lindsay, 63, of Marlette, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2006 at her home in Marlette Twp. Mrs. Lindsay has lived in Marlette the past 40 years and was previously from the Lexington, MI. area.
She was born March 16, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter to the late Joseph and Thelma (Craine) Bader.
She graduated from Croswell Lexington High School in 1961 and attended Michigan State University for three years.
She married
Bob Lindsay on December 3, 1966 in Croswell, Michigan.
Mrs. Lindsay attended the Good News Assembly of God Church in Marlette.
She was a home maker most of her life and also owned Fair Industries in Mt. Clemens, Michigan for three years.
She was a skilled artist and enjoyed sewing, ceramics, painting, cooking and most of all her family.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Lindsay of Marlette, MI; one daughter, Robin and Doug O’Neill of Columbus, MI; two sons, David and Miraya Lindsay of Sarasota, FL and Joseph and Gwen Lindsay of Marlette, MI; two sisters, Nancy and Phillip Keith of Yale, MI and Shirley and Edward Brundage of Sarasota, FL; five grandchildren Alexandria, Noah, Cassidy, Ian and Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Rev. John R. Allan officiating.
Burial will be in the Marlette cemetery in Marlette, Michigan.
Memorials may be donated to the United Hospice Service.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1pm to 9pm at the March Funeral Chapel in Marlette.

DORIS J. CHARD
Doris J. Chard, 65, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the Marlette Community Hospital in Marlette, Michigan. She lived in Decker, Michigan the past 43 years and was previously from the Sandusky area.
She was born on December 13, 1940 in Carsonville, Michigan, daughter to the late James and Agnes (Karl) Barr.
She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1959.
She married
Robert Chard on May 28, 1960 in Juhl.
She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church.
She worked for Yale Rubber in Sandusky for 36 years until her retirement in 1994.
She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, shopping and, most of all, her family.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Chard of Decker, MI.; son, David Chard of Eugene, OR.; daughter, Kelly Chard of Clarkston, MI,; brother, Harold and Sandy Barr of Sandusky, MI.; sisters, Joyce and Tom Ritz of Sandusky, MI. and Mary and Jerry Nichols of Capac, MI.; sister in law, Barb Barr of Port Huron, MI. and grandchildren, Cecilia, Madeleine, James and Lidia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Keith Barr.
Cremation has taken at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, MI.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

GEORGE ALBERT PLUMMER
George Albert Plummer, 82, of Gaylord, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
He was born to William Tucker and Dorothy Mae (Drake) Plummer in Detroit on September 25, 1923.
On June 27, 1942, he married
J. Nancy Wojton at St. Louis the King Church in Detroit. Shortly thereafter, he entered the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Tripoli during World War II. After his discharge in 1946, the couple moved to Vanderbilt, MI where he worked for the Michigan DNR for nine years. During this time they also owned the Sportsman’s Rendezvous, a general store in Vanderbilt. Later, he joined the Michigan State Police. He was a trooper and a sergeant, retiring after 25 years of service in 1979. During his career, he worked at posts in White Pigeon, Pontiac and Sandusky. After retiring, the couple returned to the Vanderbilt area.
He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Marlette. He was a volunteer with Otsego County RSVP and an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. In retirement, he also enjoyed spending winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Surviving is Nancy, his wife of 63 years; six children, George (Mary) Plummer Jr. of Williamston, P. Christine Zimmerman of Hartland, Sandra (Bill) Russell of Mason, Linda (Gary) Geister of Hillman, Barbara (Joe) Howard of Marlette and Dave (Vicky) Plummer of Gaylord; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Edith (Al) Threlkeld of Cortez, CO.; sister-in-law, Lorraine Plummer of Utica and a special friend of the family, Margaret Buttin of Sturgis.
He was preceded in death by sons-in-law Ned Ruggles and Jim Zimmerman; brothers and sisters, Dorothy (Merrill) Nunamaker, Thelma (Mack) McInnes, Edna (Charlie) Morrison, Hilda (Frank) Pozinck, William Plummer, Arthur (Dorothy) Plummer and Lilly (Roy) Rinnen.
The Knights of Columbus held a Rosary at 6:30pm on April 17, 2006. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 10:30am at the Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord and the funeral mass was conducted at 11:00am from St. Mary Cathedral with Rev. John McCracken officiating. Interment was at Resurrection cemetery.

BERTHA A. ANDRICH
Bertha A. Andrich, 91, a life long area resident, passed away Monday, April 10, 2006 at the Sanilac Medical Care Facility in Sandusky, Michigan.
She was born on July 7, 1914 in Minden City, Michigan, daughter to the late August and Rose (Cook) Moy.
She married
Wendell Andrich on July 13, 1940 in Palms, Michigan. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1987.
She was a member of the St. Joseph and St. Elizabeth Catholic churches and also a member of the St. Elizabeth Altar Society.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Force of Marlette, Sally (Al) Wilson of Maryville TN. and Cathy Andrich of Marlette; a son, Joseph Andrich of Marlette; a brother, Raymond Moy of Chamblee, GA.; two sisters, Dorothy Kursinsky of Palms, MI. and Virginia Gabriel of Mt. Clemens, MI. and six grandchildren, Jason, Guy, David, Scott, Michael and Douglas.
She as preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Chester Moy and three sisters, Edna Schoen, Grace Moy and Irene Obee.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marlette with Fr. Reginaldo Salcedo officiating.
Interment was in the St. Patrick’s cemetery in Clifford.
Memorials may be made to the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
A rosary service was conducted on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

ALETHA A. DUCKERT
Althea A. Duckert, 93, of Marlette, died Friday, April 14, 2006 at the Marlette Extended Care Facility in Marlette, Michigan.
She was born August 19, 1912 in Romeo, Michigan the daughter of the late Lawrence and Vila (Wooster) Avery.
She married
Harold Duckert on Nov. 1933 in Leonard, MI. He died on November 25, 1983.
She moved to this area in 1989 from the Dryden-Lapeer area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lapeer.
Althea taught school in Whitaker school in Lapeer County from 1929 to 1934 and at the Dryden Elementary School from 1964 to 1974. She also taught in Greenwood and Arkdale schools in Lapeer Co., and also at the Metamora Elementary.
She earned her Bachelors Degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1965. She was a member of Delta-Kappa-Gamma (Honorary Teacher Fraternity), Retired Teachers Org.(MARSP), Charter member of the Dryden Senior Citizens in which her husband helped form in 1974, and the Lapeer Co. 4-H.
She is survived by Richard & Stella Duckert (Son) of Brown City, Janet Harbar (Daughter) of Marlette, Jo Ann & Jim Thomas (Daughter) of Oxford, Joyce & Richard Thomson-Danforth (Daughter) of Castlerock, CO.; Pauline Rossman (Sister) of Austin, TX., Ruth & Lloyd Hocking (Sister) of Zephyrhills, Fl., 9 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Harold Harber; brothers, Leslie and Kenneth Avery, and sisters, Flossie Hagemeister and Ethel Watz.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette, with Rev. Daniel Bowman officiating.
Casketbearers were Michael Dennis, Darrin Thomas, Jeffrey Thomson, Destain Duckert, Mike Grills, Donald McAnelly, Chuck Anzalone, Mitchell Dennis. Honorary Casketbearer was Jason Thomson.
Burial was in the MT. Pleasant cemetery in Dryden, MI.
Memorial Suggestions to Marlette Extended Care Facility, or Marlette First United Methodist Church.

JAMES GRETZ
James Gretz, 76, of Decker, Michigan, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
He was born on July 26, 1929 in Applegate, Michigan, son to the late George and Verna (Verb) Gretz.
He married
Mary Alice O’Connor on December 1, 1956 in Pinnebog, Michigan. He was a lifelong area farmer in Sanilac County.
He enjoyed farming, gardening, reading, working on cars, remodeling homes and, most of all, his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Gretz of Decker, MI.; two sons, Jim and Julie Gretz of Great Bend, KS. and Tom Gretz and fiancee Louise Northrop of Deford, MI.: grandson, Garrett and granddaughter, Jordon Gretz of Great Bend, KS; a sister, Ann Papp of Cass City and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Gretz of Bad Axe, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mike, Andy, Gaza, Steve, George, Charles and Joe Gretz and a sister, Helen Nemeth.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Pancratius Catholic Church in Cass City with Fr. Steve Fillion officiating. Interment was in the Elkland cemetery in Cass City.
Memorials may be donated to the family.
A rosary service was also conducted on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
