ROBERT L. MAUK
Age 73, of Urbana, Illinois, died March 21, 2001. Mr. Mauk served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife, Veronica; sons, Chris of China Township and Dan of New York; sister, Ruth Droll of Illinois; brothers, Dee of Ohio and George of Kentucky; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his first wife, Geraldine; daughter, Sandra Lee; and sister, Faye Gardner. Services and cremation have been set. Arrangements were made by Littleton and Rue Funeral Home, Urbana, Illinois.
JENNIE MAY CARR
Age 94, of Port Huron, died March 27, 2001. Mrs. Carr was a member of Griswold Street Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her sons, Paul of Nashville, David of Fort Gratiot and Daniel of Alma; daughters, Jean Campbell of Marine City, Nancy Orr of Fort Gratiot and Helen Carr of Lansing; 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Rood of St. Clair. She was predeceased by her husband, D. Gordon; brother, J. Wilkin Ralston; sister, Dolly Lindsay; and one grandson. Services were held in Griswold Street Baptist Church, Port Huron, with the Rev. Daniel T. Stewart officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot Township. Memorials may be made to Griswold Street Church Missions fund or Carpenter Activity Center, or Youth for Christ International, Francophone Ministries of Port Huron.
CHARLES HENRY KOZA
Age 58, of China Township, died March 28, 2001. Mr. Koza was employed by DAK Plastics, his family business, in Warren, served his country in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia; sons, Daniel of Monroe and Donald, serving with the U.S. Navy in California; daughters, Margaret and Melissa, both of China Township, Diana Pate of Clay Township and Cyndee Jonseck of Yale; eight grandchildren; mother, Mary Reddish of Yale; stepfather, Norman Reddish of Yale; brothers, Jeffery of Sterling Heights and William of Arizona; sister, Carol Scribner of Waters; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Kathy Blank. Services were held in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, with the Rev. James R. Wysocki officiating.
FLORENCE E. SILVEY
Age 90, of Marine City, died March 19, 2001. Mrs. Silvey was employed by Marine Bank and Trust, and was a member of Marine City United Methodist Church, River District Hospital Auxiliary and Emily Ward Chapter 205, OES. She is survived by her son, Glenn of Arizona; two grandchildren; sister, Gladys Hill of Marine City; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred; sister, Evelyn McGraw; brother, Elmer Keck; and one infant child. Services were held in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, with the Rev. Donna J. Osterhout officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery. Memorials may be made to Marine City United Methodist Bell Tower Fund.
MARY ALICE EVANS
Age 88, of Richmond, formerly of Fenton, died March 23, 2001. Mrs. Evans was employed as a schoolteacher, and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Fenton. She is survived by her son, Richard of Lake; three grandsons; one great-granddaughter; brother, Richard Pennoni of California; and sisters, Otilia Thomas of Wisconsin and Angie DeRose of California. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; two brothers; and one sister. Services were held in Oakwood cemetery, Fenton, with the Rev. David Harvey of St. John's Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements were made by Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond.
MADELYN M. MacDONALD
Age 68, of Port Huron, died March 24, 2001. Mrs. MacDonald is survived by her sons, Richard McConnell of Kimball and Edward of Port Huron; daughters, Betty Jawor and Karen, both of Port Huron; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Theola Pearson of Burtchville, Jean Jahn of Goodells, Evelyn Jahn of Croswell, Shirley Houle of Florida and Velma Blatt of Fort Gratiot; brothers, Orvall Sparling of Fort Gratiot and Walter Sparling of Burtchville; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley; son, Russell; and one grandson. Services were held in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Parker of Free Methodist Church, Lapeer, officiating. Burial was in Caswell cemetery, Kimball Township.
DONALD ERDMAN
Age 72, of St. Clair, died March 25, 2001. Mr. Erdman is survived by his wife, Jackie; sons, Michael and Keith, both of Marysville; daughter, Donna Paeth of Brown City; eight grandsons; brother, Howard of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held in Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Albert Currier officiating. Burial was in Rosehill cemetery, East China Township. Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice.
JOSEPH P. CARPA
Age 41, of Marysville, died March 24, 2001. Mr. Carpa graduated from Marysville High School, and was employed as an auto parts salesman. He is survived by his parents, John and Jean Marie Carpa of Marysville; stepdaughter, Michelle Pionk; brother, John Jr. of Marysville; sisters, Cindy Riesbeck of Ohio and Vicki Middleton of North Street; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held in Marysville Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Wingrove officiating. Burial was in Riverlawn cemetery. MARY MARTHA MILLER
Age 73, of Kimball, died March 24, 2001. Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter, Dena Comtois of Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, William Leslie of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Rex "Bo" Miller. Services were held in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery, Roseville.
CALVIN M. ANGLEBRANDT
Age 75, of Port Huron, died March 25, 2001. Mr. Anglebrandt was employed by Grand Trunk Western Railroad for over 40 years, served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of May O'Brien VFW Post 8465 and Good Sam Travelling Club. He is survived by his sons, Frederick and E.J., both of Port Huron, and Calvin Jr. of Indiana; daughters, Gloria Acre and Nancy Harrington, both of Port Huron, Mary Nugent of Kimball and Val Duffin of Avoca; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Winona Scott of Port Huron. He was predeceased by his wife, Wilda; and brothers, Leroy and Kenneth. Services, with military honors, were held in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Max W. Amstutz officiating.
DAVID J. FRETENBOROUGH
Age 38, of Kimball Township, died March 20, 2001. Mr. Fretenborough was a self-employed tree trimmer. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Fretenborough; brothers, William, Robert and Charles; sister, Patricia; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, William. Services were held in Wadhams Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Wallace officiating.
RUTH V. ISRAEL
Age 75, of Detroit, died March 31, 2001. Mrs. Israel is survived by her daughters, Theresa Blackett of New Baltimore, Monica Israel of Harrison Township and Peggy Fiedler of Maine; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest. Services were held in Gendernalik Funeral Home, New Baltimore, with Deacon Anthony Lewandoski of St. Mary Queen of Creation Church, officiating. Burial was in Resurrection cemetery, Clinton Township. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church for masses.
