MYRTLE T. CHASE, Age 83, of Chesterfield, formerly of Algonac, died Feb. 24, 2000. Mrs. Chase was a homemaker and a member of FOE Aerie 2784 Auxiliary, Fair Haven and the Rebecca Lodge. She is survived by daughters, Marilyn Miller of California and Theresa of Fair Haven; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sylvia Siegler of Utica. Mrs. Chase was predeceased by her husband John. Services were held in Presbyterian Village East, Chesterfield, with the Rev. Robert O. Brown officiating. FLOYD G. STRAUCH, Age 86, of New Baltimore died Feb. 25, 2000. Mr. Strauch was owner of New Baltimore Fuel Supply and a member of the Civic Club. He is survived by his wife, Gene; daughters, Nancy Moreno of New Baltimore and Judy Klein of Ira; and four grandchildren. Services were held in St. Mary Queen of Creation Church, New Baltimore. NESTOR P. KUPS, Age 61, of China died Feb. 22, 2000. Mr. Kups served in the U.S. Army and was employed at TRW-Sterling plant. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; son, Daniel of Grand Rapids; and brother, Norman of China. Arrangements were made by Rudy Funeral Home, Center Line. STEPHEN F. FOGARTY, Age 74, formerly of Algonac, died Feb. 24, 2000. Mr. Fogarty is survived by his sons, James, Steven and Dennis Barney; daughters, Judy Wesley, Patricia Zemke and Debra Mendoza; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services were held in St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Algonac, with the Rev. Douglas Bignall, officiating. Arrangements were made by Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.
PAULLA M. GAFFNEY, Age 76, formerly of Marine City, died Feb. 24, 2000. Mrs. Gaffney was retired from Womens Benefit Association. She was a past board member of St. Clair County American Red Cross, did volunteer work in many organizations and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Chapter #170 O.E.S., Marine City VFW Auxiliary #3129, and Blue Water Data Processing Group. She is survived by a son, Thomas of Port Huron; one grandchild; brothers, Nathan Brewer of Missouri and James Brewer of Maine. Services were held in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, Port Huron, with the Rev. Amy Lee Brun Terhune, First United Methodist Church, officiating. JOHN "JACK" EDWARD MULLIN JR., Age 54, of Yale, formerly of Berville and Armada, died Feb. 13, 2000. Mr. Mullin was a truck driver for MLS Construction and a former member of the Teamsters. He is survived by his wife, Christine; daughters, Lisa of Port Huron, Shellie Gilbert of Tennessee and Shannon of Romeo; son, John III of Port Huron; four grandchildren; sister, Carol McInerney of Bay City; and brothers, Patrick of Lexington, Alan Delahaye of Brighton and Dwayne Delahaye of Clinton Township. KATHARINE U. REX, Age 97, of St. Clair, formerly of Algonac, died Feb. 20, 2000. Mrs. Rex was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She is survived by her sons, Thomas and Richard; 13 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rex was predeceased by her husband Howard, and a daughter Katharine Christy. Services were held in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, St. Clair, with the Rev. Susan Clark officiating. Arrangements were made by L.C. Friederichs Funeral Home, St. Clair. MARGARET ELLEN INCH, Age 94, of Kimball died Feb. 21, 2000. Mrs. Inch is survived by a daughter, Frances Wahl of Kimball Township; son, Charles of Florida; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 15-great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Charles. Services were held in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, Port Huron. Burial was in Springhill cemetery, Greenwood Township.
BERNARD "BEN" ZAREMBA, Age 76, of St. Clair died Feb. 21, 2000. Mr. Zaremba owned Ace Septic Tank with his wife Betty. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, K of C #2251 and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Zaremba is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Bernie, Dennis and Hank; daughters, Barbara Northrop and Denise Rapp; ten grandchildren; step-children, Jane Smith, Jacquelyn Arnold, Daniel Johnson, Peter Johnson and Mary Salem; and seven step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanore; daughter, Marie Langlois; and a son, Joseph. Services were held in St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair. Arrangements were made by L.C. CLINTON U. COOPER, Age 95, of Marysville died Feb. 22, 2000. Mr. Cooper was a carpenter, builder and realtor prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 687, Marysville Lions Club, Boy Scouts and Marysville United Methodist Church. Mr. Cooper is survived by a daughter, Anne Welch of Marysville; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Zella Hall of Pittsburgh and Loretta Schneider of Pennsylvania; and a half-sister, Mary McCombs of Pittsburgh. Services were held in Marysville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James M. Thompson officiating. Arrangements were made by Marysville Funeral Home, Marysville. HELEN KATHERINE CLINK, Age 66, of St. Clair died Feb. 24, 2000. Mrs. Clink was an LPN and was involved in the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and band boosters. She is survived by husband, David; daughters, Patricia Clink of Marysville, Jayne Clink of St. Clair, Susan Mikel of Chesaning and Lynn Marsland of Virgin Islands; a son, Gregg of St. Clair; six grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie Jarvis of Florida, Golda Williams of Peck and Carol Blair of Tennessee. Mrs Clink was predeceased by a sister Bernitta Badley. Services were held in Marysville Funeral Home, Marysville. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
MARIAN E. MCDONALD, Age 78, of St. Clair died Feb. 23, 2000. Mrs. McDonald was deacon of Ward Presbyterian Church and was a volunteer for the English as a Second Language Program for Livonia Public Schools. She is survived by daughters, Karen Hopp of St. Clair and Kay Ortman of Washington; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mrs. McDonald was predeceased by her husband, O.H. McDonald, a son, Kenneth Wardlaw, and a stepson, Terry McDonald. Services were held in Ward Presbyterian Church in Northville, with the Rev. David Brown officiating. DAVID L. PRIESKORN, Age 63, of Macomb died March 5, 2000. Mr. Prieskorn retired from Custom Drywall in Utica and was previously employed at Northbrook Golf Course in Ray. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in New Haven. Mr. Prieskorn is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, David and Dana, both of Macomb; daughters, Denine McFadden of New Baltimore and Brenda Lonergan of Algonac; six grandchildren; brothers, Bill Mayer of St. Clair Shores, Jack of Chesterfield, Glenn of Ray; and sisters, Mickey Sawitzsky of Washington Township and Carolyn Kuchenmeister of Ray. GEORGE J. FERGUSON, Age 79, of Kimball died March 2, 2000. Mr. Ferguson was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a press operator for Eugene Welding before retiring. Mr. Ferguson is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Robert of Marysville; daughter, Mary Baur of North Street; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; step-daughters, Gladys Walker of Port Huron, Judy Bullis of New Haven and Diana Hegler of Port Huron; step-son, Randy Jackson of Lewiston; seven step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Agnes Mercurio of Florida. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary. Services were held in Riverlawn cemetery Chapel, Marysville, with the Rev. Bill Bendert of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, officiating. DELINA THERESA SCHATZBERG, Age 98, of Anchorville died March 2, 2000. Mrs. Schatzberg had been employed by Park Davis Pharmaceutical Company in Detroit. She is survived by a son, Charles of Houghton Lake; a daughter, Betty Betzing of Maryland; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ted and a son Theodore Jr. Services were held in Oakwood cemetery, New Baltimore, with the Rev. William Pacey officiating. MELVIN HUBERT JANKE, Age 57, of Chesterfield died March 7, 2000. Mr. Janke was retired from Detroit Edison and was the owner of Anchor Bay Computers. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Rory Hiram of Georgia and James Anderson of Chesterfield; daughters, Kathryn Cameron of Montana and Carrie Whitfield of Fair Haven; and eight grandchildren.
