BERNICE WEAVER, Age 74, of Chesterfield died Nov. 1, 1999. Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughters, Jaynell Patrick of New Baltimore, Carol Robson of Canada and Donna Stewart of Sterling Heights; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Weaver was predeceased by her husband Wallace. Services were held in Gendernalik Funeral Home, New Baltimore, with the Rev. Donald J. Emmert officiating. CAROLY SUE HAMMER, Age 56, of Allegan died Oct. 18, 1999. Ms. Hammer is survived by her daughter, Cassandra Clemente of Livonia; sons, Robert Rhodes of Algonac and Timothy Rhodes of East China; three grandchildren; mother, Myrna Hammer of Allegan; brothers, Richard of Allegan, Terry of Pullman, Ken of Chesterfield, Carl of Martin, Robert of Gobles and Larry Jr. of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. WILLIS E. BRINKMAN, Age 67, of Marine City died Oct. 30, 1999. Mr. Brinkman retired from the U.S. Air Force as technical sergeant; was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict; he was a rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service before retiring. He was a member of the Marine City United Methodist Church. Mr. Brinkman is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Glenn of Marine City and Gregory of China Township; three grandchildren; brothers, Robert of Texas and Irving of California; sisters, Irene Amstad of Arizona and Paulette Anderson of Minnesota. Services were held in Marine City United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Donna J. Osterhout officiating. Arrangements were made by Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City. Burial was in Memphis cemetery, Memphis.
ROY ERIC NELSON, Age 61, of Columbus died Nov. 5, 1999. Mr. Nelson was an emission certifier for Daimler Chrysler. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America serving as Scout Master of Troop 73 in Richmond and assistant Scout Master of Troop 201 in Rochester; also served on numerous council positions. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, David of Illinois and Timothy of Virginia; a daughter, Lisa of Croswell; brothers, Ronald of Illinois and Robert of Wisconsin. Services were held in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond, with the Rev. James Commyn officiating. Arrangements were made by Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Burial was in St. Michael cemetery. EVELYN BARBARA VALENTINE, Age 78, of Richmond, formerly of Clinton Township, died Nov. 3, 1999. Mrs. Valentine was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, former member of the Ladies Aid, Bible groups and the Altar Guild at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Roseville. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Judith of California; sons, James of Macomb Township and Martin of Iowa; and four grandchildren. Services were held in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Macomb, with the Rev. Michael Lutz, officiating. Arrangements were made by Murphy and Hauss Funeral Directors, Macomb. BEULAH Z. SMITH, Age 88, of Algonac died Nov. 1, 1999. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters, Juanita Ebeling of Marine City and Jeanetta Jackson of Tawas City; sons, Ronald and Bobby, both of Marine City; a brother, Jack Crumby of Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Oscar, and a grandson Michael Guzinski. Services were held in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, with the Rev. Harvey W. Reh officiating. VICTOR HERMANN HILL, Age 74, of Marine City died Nov. 3, 1999. Mr. Hill was retired from the Marine City Water Department as a wastewater pollution control superintendent. He was a veteran of World War II in the Pacific Theatre serving in the U.S. Army; and was a member of the Francis Bashore Post 3129 VFW in Marine City. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Elsie; daughters, Paulette Kissee of Wisconsin, Victoria Glenn of California, Valorie Hill and Velinda Yax, all of Algonac, and Tricia Bauer of Flint; sons, Robert of Columbus and Raymond of Marine City; brother, Raymond of Wisconsin; sister, Adeline Smith of Wisconsin and Marie Bunch of Maryland; and nine grandchildren. Services were held in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, with Pastor Gerhardt A. Doroh officiating. Burial was in Rosehill cemetery, East China.
MARY H. STYK, Age 86, of Marine City died Nov. 3, 1999. Ms. Styk is survived by her daughters, Mary Alent, Betty Baxter and Karen Klass; and a son, Walter. Services were held in Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China. Burial was in Rosehill cemetery, East China.
DONALD J. COHRS, Age 70, of Marine City died Nov. 1, 1999. Mr. Cohrs was retired from Chrysler Corporation and was co-owner of Cohrs Marine Construction and MOR-COR Corporation. He was a 32nd degree mason and was a member of Past Worshipful Master of S. Ward Lodge 62, past patron of Emily Ward 205 OES, past thrice master of Royal Arch Chapter 59, Detroit Consistory of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Blue Water Scottish Rite Club, Mallet Club of Michigan, Marine City Council, the DAV Port Huron Chapter 12 and Marine City United Methodist Church; also served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a staff sergeant. Mr. Cohrs is survived by his wife, Ottolyn; daughters, Yvonne and Darlene Markel; four grandchildren; brother, Wilfred; sister, Evelyn Dresser; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were held in Marine City United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Donna J. Osterhout officiating. An Eastern Star memorial service was held followed by a Masonic memorial service. GRACE ELIZABETH LEVERENZ Newborn, of Kimball died Oct. 26, 1999. ERMA C. FORDT, Age 88, of Algonac died Feb. 20, 2000. Mrs. Fordt was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Casco, where she was also active in the ladies aid and a member of the Casco Township Senior Citizens. She is survived by her sons, Donald of East China, Delbert of Casco and Dennis of Marine City; daughters, Anna Furtah of Marine City and Susan Mekel of Algonac; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Lavern Lipke of China and Russell Lipke of Casco; and sisters, Alviera Beier of St. Clair and Violet Osterland of China. Mrs. Fordt was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; a son, Arnold; and grandchildren, Teri Fordt and Darrin Fordt. Services were held in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. ELIE THOMAS SIMS, Age 69, of New Haven died Feb. 19, 2000. Mr. Sims was retired from the New Haven Foundry as a core assembler; and was a member of UAW Local 429. He is survived by his sons, Willie of Detroit, Eli Jr., Edward, Donald, Kenneth and Nathan, all of New Haven; daughters, Brenda Martin, Linda and Ruth, all of New Haven, and Mahalia Miller of Chesterfield; 31 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Mr. Sims was predeceased by his wife Iola. Services were held in the Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, New Haven, with the Rev. John Mack officiating. VIVIAN M. KOLLMORGAN, Age 76, of Ira died Feb. 23, 2000. Mrs. Kollmorgan was a retired pastor of Emmenuel Lighthouse in Marine City and a former member of FOE Auxiliary 2784. She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughters, Kathleen Cyrulewski of Holly, Debra Zanger of New York, and Cindy Frank of Marine City; sons, Michael of Fair Haven, Robert of Algonac and Scott of Texas; sisters, Lillian Koetter of Fair Haven and Evelyn Hill of Avoca; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by a son, Teddy. Services were held in Gendernalik Funeral Home, New Baltimore, with the Rev. Charles King of Church of God, Port Huron, officiating. EMILY VERONICA HAYNES, Age 78, of Chesterfield, formerly of Ira, died Feb. 22, 2000. Mrs. Haynes was a homemaker and a member of AMVETS Auxiliary Post 52, New Baltimore. She is survived by daughters, Loretta Wiesniewski of Dearborn Heights, Patricia Allor of St. Clair, Deborah Grivas and April Gruner, both of Chesterfield; sons, Brian of Algonac and Michael of Ira; sisters, Amelia Burgess and Irene Mepham, both of Ontario.
