Elva Zeller
Elva L. Zeller, 83, of Marysville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004 in Mercy Hospital following a long illness.
She was born to George and Adelia Bright on Oct. 13, 1921 in Kimball Twp.
Elva enjoyed crafts, knitting, sewing and going to flea markets. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her seven children, Mary L. (William) Pincomb of Fort Gratiot, Ella Mae (Edward) DeView of Clyde, Georgia Jean Stewart of Marysville, Kay F. (George) Britton of Salina, KS, Nancy T. (Dan) Scancella of Avoca, Carol Sue Dial of Smiths Creek and Clayton C. (Susan) Zeller of Nashville, TN; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great- grandchildren; her brother, Walter (Margaret) Bright of Kimball; two sisters, Eleanor Grabbitt of Port Huron and Donna Jean Lucas of Fort Gratiot; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 in Smith Family Funeral Home-South, 1230 Seventh St. Burial will follow in Lakeside cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, William "Butch" Pincomb, Edward DeView Jr., Robert Stewart, Kevin Towell, Michael Dial and Scott Zeller.

Bertha Wilton
Bertha May Wilton, age 92, of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital, unexpectedly.
She was born Sept. 30, 1912 in Guelph, Ontario and lived here most of her life.
She married
Franklin A. Wilton on Dec. 8, 1951 in Port Huron. He died July 11, 1989.
She was a founding member of Court Street Baptist Church. "Aunt Bertha" was fondly known for her cake decorating and crafts. She attended Ross Bible Church.
She is survived by her nieces, better known as her "Brats", Evelene (Joe) Henrion of Sandusky, Pat (Don) Moutoux of Burtchville and Diane (Ron) Barrett of Port Huron; her nephew, Charles E. Heaslip of Port Huron; her great-nieces and nephews, Dennis (Jenny) Barrett of Port Huron, Paula Darden of San Clemente, CA, her special caregiver, Kimberly Hunter of Burtchville, Jeff Turner of Plant City, FL, Edward Buckbee of Richmond, Howard Buckbee of Sandusky, John (Jackie) Buckbee of Richmond, Mark (Virginia) Buckbee of Deckerville, Frank (LaLonnie) Buckbee of Flushing and James (Julie) Buckbee of Port Huron; as well as many great-great- nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ida Eckstein; her sister, Marjorie G. Heaslip; and her brother, Edward Eckstein.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz and Pastor J. Randall Withenshaw will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeport cemetery.
Visiting hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 30th) and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral home.
Her great-nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Ross Bible Church or Colonial Woods Missionary Church.
Guy Thompson
Guy K. Thompson, age 46, of Port Huron died Thursday, October 13, 2005 in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness.
He was born to the late Don and Phyllis Thompson on January 29, 1959 in Port Huron and was a life long resident.
Guy worked for many years as a machinist. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3702.
He is survived by his brother, Rodney (Peggy) Thompson of Port Huron; three nieces, Debbie (Jim) Robertson of Anchorage, Alaska, Dawn (Joe) Henry of Port Huron, and Jeannine (Joe) Lambson of Sandusky; one nephew, Chris (Sue) Ristau of Harrison, Michigan; and several greatnieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Herbert "Tiny" Thompson.
A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday (10/18) at the Eagles Lodge on Water Street.
Memorials may be made to the St. Clair County Humane Society.

Stephen Tworek
Stephen M. Tworek, 91, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 in Autumnwood of Deckerville.
He was born July 2, 1913 in Detroit to the late Peter and Catherine (Sulicki) Tworek. The family relocated to Croswell in 1923. He lived in Applegate since 1938.
He married
Mary Hartwick on Jan. 7, 1938 in Port Huron. She died July 13, 1982.
Mr. Tworek retired from Travco in Brown City in 1978.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; son, Joy Tworek; brother, Peter Tworek; and sister, Mary Jarosz.
He is survived by his daughter, Amilda (Dean) Dickinson of Applegate; brother, Joe (Doreen) Tworek of Nokomis, FL; grandchildren, Kimberly Dickinson (John Kirchoff) of Port Sanilac, Deborah Dickinson (Tom Andrews) of Applegate, Mark (Patti) Tworek of St. Helen, Rhonda (John) Jenner of West Branch, Michelle (Bill) Guigear of St. Helen, Paul (Edie) Tworek of St. Helen; and several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 in the Applegate Wesleyan Church. Lay Minister Mary Ann Milarch will officiate. The Rev. Daniel Stone will assist.
Inurnment will be in the Washington Twp. cemetery.

Marjorie Shutt
Marjorie Ann Shutt, 72, of Marysville, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital.
She was born Sept. 30, 1932 in Melvin, daughter of the late Albert and Gladys Gripton.
Marjorie married
William W. Shutt Sr. on Aug. 12, 1950 in Capac.
She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Half Century Club. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, William, of Marysville; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Charles Bollaert of White Lake, MI; son and daughter-in-law, William Jr. and April Shutt of Perrysburg, OH; daughter, Nancy Hoffman (Robert Laming) of Port Huron; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Paul Wright of China Twp.; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Amy Shutt of Port Huron Twp.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Helen Gripton of Iowa; brother and sister-in-law, James and Barbara Gripton of Muskegon, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sally Gripton, Bethel Hollis and Donna Chase.
A memorial service will be at a later date.

John Sasu
John J. Sasu Jr., 87 of Port Huron Twp., died suddenly in Mercy Hospital on Monday, September 26, 2005. He was born to John Sr. and Veronica Sasu on October 9, 1917 in Salem, OH, graduated from Marysville High School in 1937, and had a tryout with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1938.
John went to work for Chrysler Marine Division in Marysville, served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and then returned to Chrysler's for a total of 35 years of service. On July 31, 1954, John married
Hildegard Verheul. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique cars, license plates, bicycles, and clocks.
He was a loving husband and father, and is survived by his four daughters, Veronica (Terry) Hynes of Troy, Nancy Baziuk of Waterford, Tina (Steve) Stocker of Marysville, & Julie (Martin) Franke of Valencia, CA; his son, John J. Sasu III of Daytona Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Daniel and Lindsey Stocker of Marysville, three sisters, Betty Bending of St. Clair, Sylvia Kilgore of Fremont, IN, & Mary Rush of Los Angeles, CA; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hildegard Sasu who passed away on Nov. 14, 2004. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mike Sasu and a sister, Mary Sangmeister.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2005 in Smith Family Funeral Home-South, 1230 Seventh St. The Rev. Bill Bendert, Pastor of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Contributions may be made in John's memory to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Salvation Army Disaster Relief, or the charity of the donor's choice.
Virginia Rowse
Virginia A. Rowse, 72, of Marysville, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2004 in her residence of natural causes.
She was born on September 2, 1932 in Ann Arbor, daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Hammond.
Virginia married
Donald Rowse. He died March of 1999.
She was a longtime employee of Prestolite, and a board member of Vicksburg Hall. She loved her grandchildren and animals.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Ann Bostick of Port Huron; son and daughter-in-law, Darell and Cathy Rowse of Port Huron; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Donna Rowse of Port Huron; six grandchildren, Kimberly and Michael Bostick, D.J. Rowse and Jason Rowse, Mark Rowse and Jennifer Socha; four great- grandchildren, Dustin Bostick, Treyton Bostick, Jalyn Bulls and Devin Bulls; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Maynard King of Howell.

Robert Bielicki
Robert C. Bielicki, age 63, of Port Huron went home to be with the Lord on his birthday, October 6, 2005 in Harper Hospital.
He was born in Detroit and has lived in Port Huron since 1990.
Bob worked as a Certified Registered Nurse of Anesthesia. He retired from Port Huron Hospital in 2004 as Director of Surgical services. He was a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
Bob was also a pioneer in game development. He invented "Guts Frisbee" which he enjoyed playing with his sons.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Bielicki of Port Huron; sons, Brian (Donna) Bielicki of Warren and Jason Bielicki of Clinton Township; a stepson, Michael Mansell of Port Huron; three granddaughters, Brandy, Mackenzie, and Abigail Bielicki; a grandson, Hunter Bielicki, all of Warren; his brother, Gerald (Kathleen) Bielicki of Shelby Township; and his best friend, Earl Lines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilary and Rita Bielicki.
The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday (10/10) in the Colonial Woods Missionary Church with pastor Phil Whetstone officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Port Huron Hospital Foundation, Colonial Woods Missionary Church, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Edna Ledford
Edna Bice Ledford, 84 of Clinton Twp. and formerly of Port Huron, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2005 in Mt. Clemens General Hospital following a short illness.
She was born to William and Almeda Bice on September 11, 1920 in Port Huron and retired from Chrysler Corp. after 35 years of service.
Edna enjoyed walking and working out, and she loved to travel.
She is survived by her brother, Harold (Dorothy) Bice of Port Huron; her sister, Gertie Bohnert of Madison Heights; and several nieces and nephews including her niece, Joyce Wolf, with whom she lived.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Paul Parsell and Robert "RV" Ledford.
Cremation has taken place.

Joanna Burrows
Joanna L. Burrows, 91 of Ubly, MI passed away Monday, July 18, 2005 in Port Huron Hospital. She was born to William and Mary Spaetzel on August 17, 1913 in Austin Twp. near Ubly and she married
Gordon W. Burrows on August 18, 1934 in Sandusky.
Years ago, Joanna taught school. While living in Port Huron, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was currently a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Sandusky. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener.
She is survived by her two children, Joanne E. Burrows of North Lakeport, MI and William J. (Sharon) Burrows DVM of Fort Gratiot Twp.; her grandchildren, Scot Gordon Hoskins, Kyle Ann Hoskins, Jon Paul Hoskins, Sara Lynn Burrows, and Amy Elizabeth (Todd) Rosbury; her great grandchildren, Zachary & Callie Hoskins; her three sisters, Lorraine Newcomb of Port Huron, Mavis Ackerman of Port Huron, & Wilma Daniels of Chewelah, WA; her brother Harold (Mary) Spaetzel of Ubly; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, who passed away in 1978, and a daughter, Norma Jane Burrows who died in 1942.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005 in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St. Pastor Timothy Eichberger of Faith Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
