Lillian Brackenbury
Lillian N. Brackenbury, 81, of North Lakeport, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003 in her home after a short illness.
She was born Sept. 11, 1922 in Port Huron and was a lifelong resident.
She married
Robert L. Brackenbury. He died Nov. 20, 1976.
Lillian loved animals and gardening. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Yahtzee. She loved her children and grandchildren very much.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Brackenbury of Iron Mountain; daughters, Laura Armour of Port Huron and Kay Johnson of Lakeport; sons, Roger Brackenbury of Gwinn and Gary (Debra) Brackenbury of Port Huron; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Vivian Smith of Port Huron.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Justine L. "Judy" Brackenbury on Jan. 8, 1995.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Mary Ann Stackpoole will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeport cemetery.
Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Roger and Gary Brackenbury, Anthony Gutmann, Cory Johnson, Dennis Shannon and Les Smith.
Memorials may be made to the St. Clair County Humane Society.
Helen Black
Helen Allene (Doherty) Black, age 88, of Sanira, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003.
She was the beloved wife of Harold Black; loving mother of Lee Doherty, Jim Doherty, Kay and her husband, Frank Newman, Larry Black and his wife, Janice and Steve Black and his wife, Gayle; dear grandmother of 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Helen had many nephews and nieces in Barrie, Stroud and Innasfil, Ontario and Port Huron.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Carmeron Kirby in 2001; four brothers; and three sisters.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 17, 2003 at 1 p.m. from Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, ON. Interment will be in Resurrection cemetery.
Friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

David Dobrolwski
David J. Dobrowolski, 60, of Sarnia, Ontario, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004 in Farmington Hills Hospice Home after a short illness.
He was born on Aug. 21, 1944 in Port Huron.
David married
Elizabeth A. Nofs on July 1, 1967 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death in June 2004.
He served in the United States Air Force.
David was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. He enjoyed horse racing and hockey.
David is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah (Shawn) Molloy of Farmington; her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel (Cheryl) Dobrowolski of Port Huron; five grandchildren, Kiera, Meryn and Riane Molloy and Sarah and Cas Dobrowolski; mother, Betty Dobrowolski of Sarnia; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Casimer Dobrowolski.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St. The Rev. Johnnie R. Johnson, pastor of Crossroad Christian Center will officiate.
Visiting hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
St. Clair County Allied Veterans will conduct Military Honors.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Farmington Hills Hospice Home.
Robert Camphausen
Robert G. Camphausen, age 81, of Fort Gratiot died August 31, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness. He was born January 6, 1923 in Oak Park, Illinois, and has lived in the Blue Water area since 1955. He married
Gloria J. Hunter on May 31, 1947 in Detroit. He served as a Navigator in the U.S. Army. He was a salesman for Nabisco for many years.
Bob was an avid golfer, and was a member at Willow Ridge, and at the Port Huron Elks Lodge #343 B.P.O.E. He is survived by his wife Gloria J. Camphausen of Fort Gratiot, 2 sons Cary (Barbara) Camphausen of St. Clair and Dale Camphausen of Kimball Township, and a daughter, Jill (Mark) Kwasniewski of Missouri, 5 grandchildren, Michelene Distelrath, Roberta Springborn, Danny Camphausen, Matt Kwasniewski, and Cody Camphausen, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Sunday, September 5 in the Smith Family Funeral Home - North, 1525 Hancock Street with The Rev. Max Amstutz Port Huron Hospital Chaplain officiating. Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice.
Laura Brackenbury Armour
Laura E. Brackenbury Armour, 55, of Port Huron, died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 3, 2004 in her home.
She was born Feb. 16, 1949 in Port Huron and lived here most of her life.
Laura was a 1967 graduate of Port Huron Northern High School and received her Associates Degree in Nursing from S.C.C.C.C. She was employed as an R.N. at Port Huron Hospital for 15 years and lately was employed as a home healthcare nurse. She loved life and had a special love for animals and the water.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelley K. Armour of Rio Rancho, NM; her son, Shawn K. Armour of Port Huron; her sister, Kay Johnson of Iron Mountain; her brothers, Wayne Brackenbury of Iron Mountain, Roger Brackenbury of Gwinn and Gary (Debra) Brackenbury of Port Huron; her half-brothers, James (Joyce) Brackenbury of Rapid City and Richard (Suzan) Brackenbury of Burtchville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Justine L. "Judy" Brackenbury and her half-sister, Barbara A. Galbraith Fuller Brackenbury.
A gathering will be held at the home of Richard Brackenbury, 7360 North Road, Burtchville at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2004.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lakeport cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Kenneth Pearce
Kenneth R. Pearce, age 75, of Port Huron, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2004 in Marwood Manor after a short illness.
He was born on April 21, 1929 in Pontiac.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Marie of Port Huron; sons, Dennis, Kenneth, Bob, Shawn (Karen), and Robert (Marybeth); step children, Randy Loxton, Debbie Williams and Lorna Loxton; sister Hilda and the late George Montgomery; grandchildren, Michelle, Fawn, Natalie, Emily, Robbie, Summer, Josh and Leslie.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mabel Pearce and a stepson James Loxton.
There will be no services.

Neuman Oliver
Neuman P. Oliver, 95, of Port Huron, passed away Monday, July 5, 2004 in Marwood Nursing and Rehab.
He was born to Joshua and Margaret Oliver on January 23, 1909 in Wooton, KY, and married
Mabel Deaton on April 13, 1936 in Buck Horn, KY. She passed away June 23, 1973. His second wife, Irene Oliver, also preceded him in death.
Neuman retired from Anchor Holth in 1974 and he was a member of the Church of Christ. He liked gardening, hunting, and expecially liked to go fishing. He also enjoyed playing euchre at the senior citizens center.
He is survived by his five children, Jennie R. (Thomas) LaPine, Port Huron, Wanda L. (Joseph) VanTroostenberghe, Rotunda, FL, Pat S. (Orval) Shagena, Fort Gratiot Twp, Bill (Rosanne) Oliver, Port Huron and Bob (Rose) Oliver, Fort Gratiot Twp; two step sons, Clem and Gordon Smith; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; several step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law Betty C. and Donald Newberry.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2004 in Smith Family Funeral Home-North 1525 Hancock Street. The Rev. Scott Freeman, Pastor of Church of Christ will officiate.
Burial will follow in Lakeside cemetery.
Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Neuman's grandsons will be his pallbearers.
Contributions may be made in his memory to Blue Water Hospice or Church of Christ.
Jean Moss
Mrs. Jean J. Moss, age 90, of Port Huron, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2004 after a long illness.
She was born on September 6, 1913 in Deckerville, daughter of the late Joseph "Archie" and Mary Mathieson. She was also a lifelong area resident.
She was a sales representative for WHLS Radio, former mayor of Port Sanilac, past member of the Quota Club, Business and Professional Women's Club and the Eastern Star.
Jean is survived by her son, George C. Moss of Hale, MI; son and daughter-in-law, James O. and Wilma Moss of Port Huron; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond E. and Linda Moss of Port Huron; son, Richard L. Moss of Azle, TX; daughters, Leah J. Jones of Tampa, FL, Norma J. Miller of Azle, TX, Sharon L. Saunby of Marysville and Susanne M. Dawson of Port Huron; 25 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George E. Moss; sisters, Marjorie Anderson and Catherine Mathieson; brother, Raymond Mathieson; granddaughter, Tracy L. Saunby; grandsons, David Moss and Michael Jones; and a granddaughter, Jeannie Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th Street. Mary Ann Stackpoole will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Gloria McKeand
Gloria O. McKeand, 79, of Port Huron, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in Marwood Nursing and Rehab. She was born to Arlington and Olive Lennon on June 2, 1925 in Port Huron, attended the Marysville schools, and graduated from Marysville High School. On September 2, 1952, she married
Robert McKeand in Port Huron.
Gloria was formerly employed at Chrysler Corp. and Prestolite Corp. She was a member of the Sisters of the Knights of Pythias, and enjoyed her card club "The Crazy 8's". She liked to play bingo and looked forward every year to her Las Vegas trip. She loved her home and lawn, and enjoyed dancing and socializing.
She is survived by her three children, Michael (Cindy) McKeand, Smiths Creek, Jenny (Frank) Urbanek, Tonawanda, NY, and Scott (Ardythe) McKeand, Croswell; her daughter-in-law, Gloria McKeand, Port Huron; seven grandchildren, William McKeand Jr., Mindy and Nicole Ziots, Natalie, Alicia and Deedra McKeand, Kimberly McKeand; her sister, Irene Romphf, Houghton Lake, MI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, and a son William, both in 1996.
Cremation arrangements were by Smith Family Funeral Home-North. A service will be held in Gloria's memory at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004, in Smith Family Funeral Home-North. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Contributions may be made in Gloria's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
Louise Madley
Louise B. Madley, 65 of Fort Gratiot, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital. She was born to Albino and Bertha Bankowitz Silva on June 14, 1939 in Detroit, MI. Louise worked as a secretary in an insurance company.
Her husband, William Madley, died in June of 1992. She is survived by her son, Michael (Dana) Madley, Port Huron; three grandchildren, Tony, Bobby, and Mikayla Madley; two sisters, Ann (Don) Hultgren, Marion, MI and Carol McRae, Middleburg, OH; two brothers, Robert Silva, St. Clair Shores, MI and Mark Smith, Detroit; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Maryann.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004 in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock Street. The Rev. Fr. C. Paul Higdon will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Memorial Gardens, Livonia, MI at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.
