Durr, Sr., Michael Earl

Michael Earl Durr, Sr., 51, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2002, at the West Branch Regional Medical Center.
Michael was born on May 25, 1951, in Detroit, the son of Oswald and Edith Durr. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Michael married
Susan Durr on February 14, 1994, in Las Vegas. He had worked in the county maintenance department in Las Vegas, NV, before becoming disabled.
Michael is survived by his wife Susan Durr of Chestertown, MD; his children, Michael Earle Durr, Jr., Suzanne Durr, and Wendy and Amber, and his brother Patrick Durr of Rose City, MI.
Stockwell, Dean
August 21, 1949 - March 14, 2002
Dean Stockwell, age 52, of Mt. Pleasant died on Thursday, March 14, at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral Services for Dean will be held on Monday, March 18, at 2 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant with the Pastor Ron Ives officiating. Interment will take place at the Salt River cemetery in Shepherd.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Chapel on Sunday, March 17, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, March 18, from 11 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Dean was born August 21, 1949, in Manton, Michigan, the son of Willam and Joyce (Hurlbert) Alleman. Dean married
Tina (Whitham) Stockwell on August 25, 1995 in Mt. Pleasant. Dean worked as a musician playing in many area bands. He had also worked as a clock and watch repairman and for Nathan Mallay Masonry. He was a member of the St. Louis Moose Lodge.
Dean is survived by his wife Tina; children, Shannon Stockwell of Breckenridge, Joe Stockwell and his wife Dusty of Mt. Pleasant, Kelly Stockwell and Nick Barnum of Mt. Pleasant, Kristin Stockwell of Winn, Josh Stockwell of Shepherd, Jessica Stockwell of Shepherd, Krystal Kremsreiter of Mt. Pleasant and Jacob Stockwell of Mt. Pleasant; 7 grandchildren, Tricia Terry, Hayley Harvey, Alexa Newell, Caleb Burns, Dravin Stockwell, Breeann Barnum, and Trenton Stockwell; his father, William Alleman of Shepherd; brother Rick Stockwell (Kathy) of Six Lakes and a sister Diane Gale-O’Berry (Dennis) of Shepherd. Dean is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dean was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
Dale, Robert Calvin
June 27, 1924 - March 12, 2002
Robert C. Dale, 77, of Lake Isabella passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m. from the Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant with Todd Bruning of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation will take place after the funeral service.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 15, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in memory of Bob may be made to the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at Clark Funeral Chapel.
Robert was born in East Lansing, Michigan on June 27, 1924, the son of Clarence and Irma (Stabler) Dale. He graduated in 1942 from East Lansing High School. He served as a sargent in the United States Army during WWII, stationed in England. After the service he graduated from Michigan State University in 1949. Robert married
Doris M. Loesel in May 6, 1950, in Richville, Michigan. Robert worked for over 30 years as an administration officer with the Mt. Pleasant Center retiring in 1984. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. His hobbies included woodworking, traveling, hunting and fishing, camping, reading, and mostly taking part in family activities.
Robert is survived by his wife Doris M. Dale of Lake Isabella; his children, John C. Dale of Littleton, Co., Susan D. Schlaeger (Bill) of Lake Worth, Florida, Laurie D. Wood (Al) of Mt. Pleasant, Barbara A. Tatroe (Scott) of Laingsburg, Michigan, and Jeffrey A. Dale (Lily) of Las Cruees, New Mexico; 8 grandchildren, Bradley and Jenna Schlaeger, Andrea and Ryan Wood, Abigail Tatroe, Robby, Sammy and Gabby Dale; 1 brother, James C. Dale (Ruth) of Foley, AL.; and 1 sister, Catherine I. Radde (Jack) of McAllen, TX.
Robert was preceded in death by both parents.
Shanaver, Rose Jane
November 11, 1919 - March 12, 2002
Rose Jane Shanaver, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2002.

Rose was born on November 11, 1919, to William Alexander and Adelin May Parker. She was married
to Harry Shanaver. Rose was employed as a waitress for the Feedback Restaurant in Wyandotte. She was a former member of O.E.S.
Rose is survived by her children, Gerald Shanaver of Cadillac, Lawrence Shanaver (Helen) of Weidman, Pamela Moore (Allan) of Mt. Pleasant; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister Edith Sheatzley of Ohio.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Harry in 1982, her son Charles Shanaver in 1979, and her daughter Barbara Abercrombie in 1980.
Brown, Neuman "Brownie" Bradford

Neuman “Brownie” Bradford Brown, 74, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at his home.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. Nancy Casey-Fulton officiating. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery.

Neuman was born in Salem, IL, on July 13, 1927, the son of Oscar and Maggie (Mercer) Brown. He married
Naomi Fern Brannon in Salem, IL, on September 30, 1949. Brownie served in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class from 1945 to 1946. He was employed for 36 years with National Supply Company and retired in 1987. He was a life member of the Mt. Pleasant Men’s Bowling Association, an avid golfer, and a Red Cross Blood Donor.
Brownie is survived by his spouse, Fern Brown; his children Sharon Breidinger (Thomas) of Alma, Gary Brown (Colleen) of St. Louis, Lou Ann Christensen (David) of Mt. Pleasant, and Douglas Brown (Kristine) of Mt. Pleasant; 6 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 1 step-greatgrandchild.
Brownie was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Norman, 1 sister Dorine Trainor, and 1 granddaughter Kristina Breidinger in 1989.
Yeater, Isaac Everson

Isaac Everson Yeater, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2002, at Ingham Medical Center.
Funeral Services for Isaac will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, at Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Max Rauschenberger of Isabella Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Isaac was born on October 10, 1917, in Smithfield, West Virginia, the son of Oakie and Gertie (Williams) Yeater. He married
Sarah Maxine Graham on August 8, 1938, in Mt. Pleasant. Prior to being drafted, Isaac worked in Oakridge, TN, on the atomic bomb. He served during WWII and was in the U.S. Army from 1945-1964. He was a self-employed dairy farmer and retired in 1978. Isaac was a member of the Isabella Baptist Church and the American Legion.
Isaac is survived his children Sharon Schutt (Dale) of St. Louis and Marna A. Nelson (Walter) of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren, Ann Neal (Albert), Tamara Shaw (Gary), Cherie Filmore (Larry), Jim Newell (Pam), Christine Neyer (Ron), and Matt Nelson; his 13 great-grandchildren; his brother Herdman Yeater (Ruth) of Baltimore, MD; his sisters-in-law Doris Yeater, Dorothy Yeater, both of West Virginia, and Mildred Carrier of Mt. Pleasant.
Isaac was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Yeater in 1995; his daughter, Marion Kay Yeater in 1944; his parents; his brothers Wayne and Raymer Yeater; his nephew Arzie Wayne Yeater, Jr., and special friend Betty Thomson.
Keller, Brandie Lea
September 23, 1981 - March 5, 2002
Brandie Lea Keller, 20, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2002.
Funeral services for Brandie will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9th, at Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Bradshaw officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery in Weidman.

Brandie was born on September 23, 1981, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of William Keller and Julie (Logan) LaVigne. She worked as a direct care worker for Cen-Care in Weidman. Brandie enjoyed singing and camping, but especially enjoyed spending time with her daughter, her family, and friends.
Brandie is survived by her fiance’ Jason Barnard; her daughter Jade Leann Barnard; her parents Julie LaVigne of Midland and William Keller of Mt. Pleasant; her grandparents Calvin and Betty Keller of Mt. Pleasant, Jolene Casper of Mt. Pleasant and Al Logan of Riverdale; her great-grandmother Iva Keller of Mt. Pleasant; sisters Darcie Wilson (Wesley) of Mt. Pleasant, Mandie Shinabery and fiance’ Kal Cotter of Aiken, SC, and Danyle LaVigne of Beal City, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Brandie was preceded in death by her cousin Melissa Salisbury in 1987.
Sargent, Lyle Vern
January 11, 1928 - March 5, 2002
“Today we lost our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who went to be with the Lord.” Lyle Vern Sargent, 74, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at his home.
A Funeral Mass for Lyle will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Robert Byrne officiating. Interment will take place in Calvary cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 6, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, March 7, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A Vigil Service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Great Lakes Renal Network in Alma or Hospice of Central Michigan. Lyle was born on January 11, 1928, in Logan, Ohio, the son of Ervin and Mary (Dressler) Sargent. He married
Joyce Reed on September 23, 1950, at Sacred Heart Church. Lyle served in the U.S. Army from June 1946 to October 1947. He was an automotive technician for Kraphol Ford for 25 years, retiring in 1981. He had previously worked for Battle Chevrolet for 11 years. Lyle was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the VFW Borley-Hanel Post, the Isabella County Sportsmen’s Club, and was formerly active with the Boy Scouts of America. Lyle’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping. He enjoyed watching deer and birds and was very fond of his cat Punc.
Lyle is survived by his wife Joyce Sargent; his children, Debra Marshall (Rockland) of Mt. Pleasant, Mark Sargent (Deborah) of Lake, Michael Sargent (Vanessa) of Clare, and Steven Sargent (Robin) of Mt. Pleasant; 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; his brother Verco “Tote” Sargent (Geraldine) of Lake Isabella; his sisters Mary Riehl (Richard), Jean Halfmann (William) of Mt. Pleasant, and his sisters-in-law Dode Sargent of California and Ilene Swix of Holt.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Paul and Densil, his stepfather Frank Schafer, and his brother-in-law Jack Swix.
Keller, Vickie Sue

Vickie was born on January 6, 1957, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Calvin and Betty (Brown) Keller. She was self-employed as a painter. Vickie loved horses, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.

Luella Smith, 88, of Beal City, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Central Michigan Community Hospital.
A Funeral Mass for Luella will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 8, at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Beal City with Fr. John Cotter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 7th from 2-5 and 6:30-9 p.m. and at St. Joseph the Worker Church on Friday, March 8th, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Luella was born on October 22, 1913, in Beal City, the daughter of Harry and Clara (Dole) Hauck. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in the Class of 1931. Luella married
Harold Smith on November 23, 1937. Luella worked along with her husband on the family farm and also had worked for Central Michigan University in Food Service and also had worked for the Mt. Pleasant State Home providing patient care. Luella was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church as well as the Altar Society.
Luella is survived her children Harry Smith (Gertrude) of Beal City, Margo Siefker (Lendy), and Lois MacGregor (Charles) of Mt. Pleasant; 8 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 7 step-greatgrandchildren; brother Raymond Hauck of Beal City; sister-in-law Rita Hauck of Mt. Pleasant.
Luella was preceded in death by her husband; her sisters Dorothy Munn and Anna Hauck; her brothers Carl Hauck, Walter Hauck, Richard Hauck, and Gerald Hauck.
Haggart, Norman Arnold

Norman Arnold Haggart, 77, of Rosebush, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2002, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral Services for Norman will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, at Clark Funeral Chapel with Mr. Frank Graham officiating. Interment will take place in Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Norman was born on May 9, 1925, in Coleman, the son of William and Dora (Mogg) Haggart. He married
Eleanor Owens on January 31, 1954, in Coleman. Norman was a machinist for Lyle Development in Beaverton from 1976 until his retirement in 1991. He had previously worked for 25 years for Strand Construction in Riverdale. Norman’s hobbies included woodcrafting, hunting and fishing, and he enjoyed being outdoors.
Norman is survived by his wife, Eleanor Haggart of Rosebush; his children, Robert Haggart of Jackson, Lynn Haggart (Frieda) of Coleman, Edward Dean Haggart and fiancée Deb Wiggins of Farwell, and Rosie Hooper of Lansing; his 4 grandchildren, Sabrina Haggart, Zeb Haggart, Nichalos Haggart, and Jessica Haggart; and 1 great-grandchild Skyler Haggert; his sister Ila Lattimer (Gene) of Coleman; and his sister-in-law Betty Haggart of Coleman.
Norman was preceded in death by his brother Donald Haggart.
Hills, Roger Alan
June 25, 1953 - February 26, 2002
Roger Alan Hills, 48, of Midland, passed away after a courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease on Tuesday, February 26, 2002, at Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services for Roger will be held on Saturday, March 2, at 10:30 a.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Bradshaw officiating. Interment will take place in Riverside cemetery.

Roger was born on June 25, 1953, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Herbert and Marcille (Price) Hills. He graduated in 1971 from Mt. Pleasant High School where he was actively involved in football and wrestling. He attended Ferris State University. Roger was a pipefitter, first working for General Motors in Pontiac from 1973-1989 and then Ford in Sterling Heights from 1990-1998. Roger was a member of the Huntington Disease Society. His hobbies included collecting duck memorabilia and fishing, and he enjoyed spending his free time on the family farm.
Roger is survived by his children Michael Alan Hills of Ferndale, Robert Alan Hills and Thomas Alan Hills, both of Sylvan Lake; his parents Herbert and Marcille Hills of Mt. Pleasant; his brothers Brad Hills of Mt. Pleasant and Herbert Hills of Rosebush; his sister Paula (Carl) Leonard of Shepherd, and his devoted friend and caregiver David Stickles.
