Clarence Bryce

Mr. Clarence A. Bryce, age 93, of Croswell, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2004 in Vero Beach, Florida from a heart attack.

He was born on May 30, 1910 in Almont, son of the late James and Edith Bryce. He lived here for 88 years.

Clarence married Audrey Westbrook on October 5, 1940 in Croswell. She died October 31, 1995.

After graduating from Croswell High School in 1928, he pursued his interest in aviation by building and flying an open cockpit bi-plane. He moved to Germfask, MI to work as a diesel mechanic at the Seine Wild Life Refuge, until the war broke out. He joined the United States Navy Seabees as a Chief Petty Officer and served in Alaska during World War II. After the war he returned to Croswell and started the Bryce Refrigeration Company which he operated for 50 years. He cared for his wife after she suffered a stroke in 1978 until her death in 1995. He was an avid walker and for the last 30 years of his life he walked three miles a day. He was a member of the Croswell United Methodist Church.

Clarence is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. (Lonita) Bryce of Apopka, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Philip J. (Patricia) Bryce of Grass Lake, MI; grandson, Christopher Bryce of Orlando, FL; granddaughter, Nicole Bryce of Orlando, FL; grandson, Eric (Vonda) Bryce of Grandville, MI; granddaughter, Cynthia Kuipers of Grand Rapids; granddaughter, Carrie (Chris) Bryce of Wyoming, MI; great grandson, Trevor Bryce of Orlando, FL.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th Street, Rev. John Allan, pastor of Yale United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Croswell cemetery.

Visiting hours are Saturday 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial tributes may be made to Croswell United Methodist Church.

St. Clair County Allied Veterans will conduct Military Honors.

Jill Bruen

Jill Bruen, age 66, of Burtchville Twp., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004 in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness.

She was born Oct. 12, 1937 in Petrolia, Ontario, daughter of the late Bev and Grace Pollard.

Jill married Stephen G. Bruen on Sept. 10, 1965 in Port Huron.

She was an LPN and was the owner of Grace Adult Foster Care Home and was a longtime secretary of Black River Boat Club. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen G. Bruen of Burtchville Twp.; daughter, Kimberly Zazulyk of Sarnia; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kim Bruen of Port Huron; daughter, Sally Bruen of Port Huron; son, Paul Bruen of Port Huron; three grandchildren, Stephanie Zazulyk, Ian Zazulyk and Ashley Bruen; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Garry Bidner of Sarnia; and several nieces and nephews.

Jill was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Peter Zazulyk.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St. The Rev. Marilyn Townsend-Smith will officiate.

Visiting hours are 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Memorial tributes may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association.

Tyler Brown

Tyler DeShawn Brown, 2 1/2 months old, of Port Huron Twp., passed away Thursday, April 1, 2004.

He was born to his parents, Nicole R. Barshaw and Tyiee S.J. Brown on Jan. 12, 2004, whom he is survived by.

He is also survived by his two sisters, Hayley G. Brown and RaeAnna M. Brown; his brother, Develle A. Galvin; his grandparents, Carrie M. Barshaw of Marysville, Brian J. Barshaw of Wales Twp. and Deaundra A. Gray of Ypsilanti Twp.; his great-grandparents, Pauline R. Freer of Richmond, James H. Freer of Capac, Sandra Gray of Ypsilanti Twp., Joseph and Shirley Barshaw of St. Clair and Walter and Sharon Gramer of Tawas; and several aunts, uncles and cousins including a special aunt, Nekia Gray and three special uncles, Andrew J. Barshaw, Lewaun and Deaunte Brown.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandmother, Linda L. Freer.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Smith Family Funeral Home-South, 1230 Seventh St. The Rev. Michael Durning, Pastor of Mt. Pleasant Bible Church, will officiate. Interment will take place at a later time.

Visitation will be in the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. today.

Contributions may be made in Tyler's memory to his family.

Donald Brown

Donald E. Brown, age 86, of St. Helen, formerly of Port Huron, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2004 in West Branch Hospital.

He was born Aug. 3, 1917 in Jeddo, son of the late Erwin and Jessie Moore Brown.

Donald served in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed deer hunting and snowmobiling.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel of St. Helen; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Steve Koshar of Coloma, MI; son, Donald Hubert Brown of Kalamazoo; granddaughter, Erica (Matt) Iemma of Elkhart, Indiana; and grandson, Christopher (Pam) Wertanen of Coloma, MI; four great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Robertson of Lexington; sister-in-law, Lola Brown of Marysville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donald was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur R. Brown.

Inurnment will be in the spring at Croswell cemetery.

Memorial tributes may be made to the wishes of the family.

Cremation arrangements are by Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St. Port Huron.

Raymond Brennan

Raymond O. Brennan Jr., age 55, of Port Huron, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2004 in his residence unexpectedly.

He was born on May 5, 1948 in Port Huron, son of the late Raymond and Leona Brennan.

Raymond married Linda M. Kreiner on Aug. 2, 1980 in Burnside.

He served in the United States Navy as a Seabee. He worked for Mueller Brass Company for 36 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Local #218 of I.A.M.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Linda M. Brennan of Port Huron; daughters, Janet M. and Amy E. Brennan, both of Port Huron; sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Steven Klaas of Port Huron; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and John Meyer of Port Huron; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Margaret Brennan of Tucson, AZ; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Cindy Brennan of Port Huron; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Bernice Brennan of Port Huron; sister, Leona Brennan of Port Huron; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Norma Jean Kreiner of Mio; brother-in-law, Francis Kreiner of Mio; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Louanna and Russell See of North Carolina; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandra and William Buckingham of Illinois; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria and Frederick Abel of Marlette; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Christine and Glenn Griswold of North Branch; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Peter and Cynthia Kreiner of Brown City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 3201 Gratiot Ave., The Very Rev. Charles E.N. Hoffacker, Rector, will officiate.

Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Columbarium with the St. Clair County Allied Veterans conducting Military Honors.

Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St.

Memorial tributes may be made to the St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Franklin Boden

Franklin A. Boden, age 79, of Port Huron, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2004.

He was born Oct. 5, 1924 in Monroe to Frank O. and Palma Boden.

He graduated in 1942 from St. Clair High School and soon after received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University.

In August of 1953 he met the love of his life, Patricia Shepardson, and on March 14, 1954 they were married at the First Baptist Church, Port Huron.

Frank was a devoted and loving husband and father, always putting family before himself. He will forever be in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.

Frank, who was employed at the St. Clair Rubber Company as Chief Chemist, retired from Evans-St. Clair in 1989.

Throughout his life he was active with the Boy Scouts; was a life member of the Masons Evergreen Lodge #9; and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Port Huron. He enjoyed camping, spent many vacations with his family traveling around the country, and always had a song in his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Boden of Port Huron; two sons, David (Carmen) Boden of Palm City, Florida and Steven Boden of Portage, MI; a daughter, Amy (Carl) Druskovich of Decatur, MI; sister, Victoria (Charles) Fuller of Croswell, MI; two brothers, Thomas (Emilie) Boden of Harrisville and Ronald (Nancy) Boden of St. Clair; grandson, Francisco Boden; and granddaughter, Maria Boden; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Elario Boden.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2004 in the Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St. The Rev. Linda Fuller, family member, will officiate.

Friends may visit with the family one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the St. Clair County Humane Society, the Boy Scouts of America- Blue Water Council, or the First Congregational Church of Port Huron.

Tom Bargeman

Tom Bargeman, age 58, of Port Huron, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2004 in his residence unexpectedly.

He was born on June 1, 1945 in Port Huron.

Tom was a volunteer at Port Huron Hospital. He was proactive for burn victims, a talented writer and he enjoyed computers and his web site.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lea and James Harrison of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two grandsons, Ian Thomas and James Paul Harrison; father, Nelson C. Bargeman of Port Huron; brother, Jon Bargeman of Fort Gratiot; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and also the love of his life, Sylvia.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Leah Bargeman who died Sept. 9, 1994.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St.

Visiting hours will be 1 to 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Memorial tributes may be made to the University of Michigan Trauma Burn Center.

June Lambert

June L. Lambert of Burtchville Twp., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 surrounded by her family.

She was born to Edward and Lillian Klaas on June 30, 1929 in Port Huron, attended the Port Huron schools, and graduated from Port Huron High School.

On June 4, 1949, she married Eugene Lambert in Port Huron.

June worked 15 years for Prestolite Corp. and later worked for 25 years for St. Clair County Community College as a secretary in the accounts payable department. She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed gardening and was especially fond of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Eugene H. Lambert; her two daughters, Sandra (Steven) Bachmann of Lexington, MI and Kathleen (Paul) Smith of Fort Gratiot Twp.; four grandchildren, Kelsey and McKenna Bachmann and Ashley and Max Smith; her two brothers and two sisters, Edward (and his friend, Theresa Prince) Klaas of Smiths Creek, Carol (Charles) Coggins of Marysville, Janet (Dale) Hoy of Port Huron and Dennis (Joann) Klaas of Port Huron Twp.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Denise Lambert.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2004 in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St. The Rev. Donald Doerzbacher, Pastor of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeside cemetery.

Visitation will be in the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Contributions may be made in June's memory to Our Saviour Lutheran Church.

Henry Burak

Henry J. Burak, age 79, of Lexington, passed away on Friday, Jan. 2, 2004 in his residence unexpectedly.

He was born on Sept. 5, 1924 in Detroit, son of the late Dominic and Genevieve Burak.

Henry married Rosaria Sinatra on Jan. 5, 1957.

He served in the United States Army, and retired from the City of Detroit Water Department on Jan. 18, 1985. He enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Rose, of Lexington; step-daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and John Einberger of Boulder, Colorado; step-daughter, Frances DeBasco of Farmington Hills; two step-grandchildren, Scott and Susan Einberger; sister, Ann Wrosch of Livonia; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 in St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington. The Rev. Donald J. Eppenbrock, pastor of St. Denis Catholic Church will officiate.

Visiting hours will be 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 at the church.

Memorial tributes may be made to St. Denis Catholic Church.

Cremation arrangements are by Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St. Port Huron.
