Lloyd Trepanier
IRON MOUNTAIN - Lloyd C. "Putt" Trepanier, 77, of Upper Pine Creek, Breitung Township, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wis.
He was born April 1, 1926, in Upper Pine Creek, son of the late Joseph and Ellen (Olson) Trepanier. He had been a resident of the area all of his life. Lloyd married
Barbara Norman on Feb. 27, 1965, in Iron Mountain.
He, along with his brother, Richard, owned and operated a dairy farm and then later started a potato farm, which he farmed for many years. In 1977, Lloyd and his brother, Richard, won The Farmer of the Year Award.
Lloyd was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and helped with the youth group at the church and Lake Ellen. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His favorite hobby was grafting apple trees. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Daniel (Sharon) Anderson and Larry Anderson, both of Iron Mountain; two daughters, Ann (Michael) Toia of Hawaii and Kathryn Lagutaris of California; a sister, Blanche Trepanier (George) Tuxhorn of St. Petersburg, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Chelsea, Mika, Justin, Nathan, Michael, Kelly, Eric, Jennifer and Jonathon; two great-grandchildren, Jason Lloyd and Justin; his brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Harold (Edna) Norman, Donald (Grace) Norman, Myron (Carole) Norman, Lois (Dick) Packard, Annabelle (Gary) Rochon, Bruce (Karin) Norman, Lucille Edgar, and Dorothy Trepanier, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Trepanier Sr.; grandson, Jason Paul Anderson, and a brother-in-law, Gordon Norman.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Immanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Ronald Wolfe will officiate. Burial will be in cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Trepanier Jr., Robert Trepanier, Gary Rochon, Jerry Kriegl, Tom Blomberg and Gordon Shewmaker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Darwin Wilson and Norman Johnson.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Immanuel Baptist Church or the charity of the donors choice.

Angelika Lee Lautzenheiser
IRON MOUNTAIN - Angelika Lee Lautzenheiser of Iron Mountain, our little angel, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
She is the infant daughter of Ginger Johnson and Gary Lautzenheiser of Iron Mountain.
Angelika is further survived by her paternal grandmother, JoAnna Hartness of Applevelly, Calif.; maternal grandmother, Kaytreen Cook of Las Vegas, Nev.; maternal grandfather, Daniel Johnson of Powers; a brother, Timothy Cootware Jr. of Arizona; a sister, Tonya Johnson-LaFave of Wilson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a gathering on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pastor Kevin Sullivan will officiate.

Oliver DePotsie
IRON MOUNTAIN - Oliver J. DePotsie, 87, of Iron Mountain, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
He was born June 30, 1915, in Spalding, son of the late Edmond and Rose (Poquette) DePotsie. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Oliver had been a resident of the Iron Mountain-Kingsford area since 1946. He married
his first wife, Marian (Finnendale) and she preceded him in death. He then married
Tressa (Rondon) in 1977. Oliver worked for the Hanna Mining Co. for many years until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford and the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post in Crystal Falls. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Oliver was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Matt and Michelle DePotsie; a brother, Joseph DePotsie; and six sisters, Eva Rait, Louise Engdahl, Emma Erickson, Aldea Poquette, Anna Mae Johnson, and Mary Beaudette.
He is survived by his wife, Tressa; two children, James (Debbie) DePotsie of Peavy Falls and Darlene (Stanley) Carlson of East Kingsford; a sister, Josephine Curran of Escanaba; two grandchildren, Mike (Jenny) Carlson and Wendy (Bob) Stelzer; three great-grandchildren, Amanda and Zack Carlson and Ethan Stelzer; five stepchildren, Roger (Charlotte) Grandahl of Crystal Falls, Janet LeGault of Iron Mountain, Iris Zimmerman of Iron River, Kathleen (Neil) Bishop of Lodi, Wis. and Tessie Grandall of Henderson, Nev.; seven step-grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kingsford Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Quinnesec cemetery.

Fannie Peterson
KINGSFORD - Fannie 'Peggy' Peterson, 93, of 1820 Mary's Way, Kingsford, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
Peggy was born Dec. 9, 1909, in Oconto County, Wis., daughter of the late Abraham and Mary (Rowell) Hyland. She had been a resident of this area for many years. Peggy married
Clarence Peterson on April 14, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1982. She and her husband operated Peterson Market many years ago. She was a member of the Aurora Free Church. She was a lifetime member of the Niagara Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain and was a volunteer and board member of the American Cancer Society for 24 years. Peggy enjoyed played cards and loved to dance.
She is survived by a son, Edwin (Joann) Smally of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; a stepson, Donald Peterson of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, Donald Hyland of Iron Mountain; three sisters, Mary Massicotte of Iron Mountain, Violet Putman of Oconto Falls, Wis., and Doris Kriegil of Homestead, Wis.; three grandchildren, Michael, Patrick and James Smally; four great-grandchildren, Amanda MacAskill, Sean, Shannon and Joseph Smally.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Elmer, and Robert Hyland, and five sisters, Irene Brendemihl, Alice Smith, Grace Allen, Rose Giel, and Laura Zoeller.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the Kingsford Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Karl Utzat will officiate. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora cemetery.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

Duane Ivey
IRON MOUNTAIN - Duane A. Ivey, 24, of Holland, lower Michigan, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at his home.
He was born June 21, 1978, in Escanaba, son of Leonard and the late Kathryn (Peterson) Ivey. He graduated from North Dickinson High School class of 1996. While in high school he participated in football, basketball and track. Duane attended Michigan Technological University and graduated with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked as a quality manager for the Magna Donnelly Corp. in Holland since graduation. Duane was an avid golfer and loved fishing, skiing and playing baseball.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn, and a brother, Derrick.
Duane liked people and was blessed with many friends.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Leonard and Susan (Feak) Ivey of Channing; a sister, Denise Ivey of Channing; very special friends, Rose and Dave Kinderman of Holland, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Channing cemetery.

June Anderson
HOMESTEAD, Wis. - June H. Anderson, 79, of Homestead died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence, Wis.
June was born June 16, 1923, in Aurora, daughter of the late Oscar and Jennie Peterson, and was raised on a dairy farm. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1941. Shortly after graduation she left for Illinois. She married
Ralph Anderson in Evanston, Ill., on Feb. 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2003. June worked in the Chicago area for the General Adjustment Bureau as chief clerk, Kemper Insurance as administrative assistant and Baxter Travenol Laboratories as quality control supervisor. She retired to Homestead in 1982, and loved her home in the northwoods. She was a member of the Aurora Free Church, Homestead Over 60 Club and the Cozy Corners Extension Club. June enjoyed writing poetry and reading.
She was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Al Bock; a brother, Robert Peterson; a brother-in-law, Frank Gould and a nephew, Eric Peterson.
June is survived by two sons, Glenn (Joan) Anderson of Cary, Ill., and Gary (Candace) Anderson of Arlington Heights, Ill.; a daughter, Gayle (Ralph) Halberstadt of Canton, Texas; six grandchildren, Bobbie Jo, Amanda, Tracey, Andy, Shaun and Kyle; a great-granddaughter, Margaret Ann; two sisters, Carolyn Gould of Florence, Wis., and Nancy (Robert) Norris of Aurora, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Miriam Peterson of Pembine, Wis., and several nieces and nephews. She loved them all dearly.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Aurora Free Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Rev. Karl Utzat will officiate. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora cemetery.

Walter Weber
IRON MOUNTAIN - Walter R. 'Doc' Weber, 88, of 531 Detroit Ave., Iron Mountain, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
He was born March 8, 1915, in Channing, son of the late Walter C. and Kate (Tully) Weber. Walter graduated from Channing High School in 1933. He attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and worked for Kohlar Plumbing. Doc joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in August 1942 and was honorably discharged in September 1945. He was a turret engineer and airplane mechanical engineer and flew 31 missions out of Darwin, Australia. He received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters for injuries received on March 8, 1944 while serving in the South Pacific.
He married
Ruth Jean Borga on Nov. 22, 1947, in Iron Mountain. Walter worked as a conductor for the Milwaukee Road Railroad for 31 years. He was a lifetime member of the Sagola Sportsman's Club, and the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford, where he had served as an elder and enjoyed the 'over 50' club. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, fly tying, bird watching, photography, raising roses and traveling. Walter will be fondly remembered for his wry sense of humor, even till the end.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Clifford; and three sisters, Frances Carey, Marguerite Coullard and Jeanette Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two children, Tim Weber of Douglas, Wyo. and Mary Beth Weber of Iron Mountain; three grandchildren, Paul Weber of New Haven, Conn., Brian Weber of Appleton, Wis., and Aimee (Logan) Peterson of Des Moines, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the church. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Channing cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.

Melvin Cairns
IRON MOUNTAIN - Melvin L. Cairns, 74, of M-95 Road, Sagola, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be in the Mayfield Memorial Park cemetery in Carlinville, Ill.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Frank Rucinski
KINGSFORD - Frank Walter Rucinski, 65, of 405 Harding Ave., Kingsford, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at his home.
He was born May 21, 1937, in Kingsford, son of the late Frank and Violet Rucinski. He attended grade school in Kingsford and high school in Cicero/Berwyn, Ill. Frank worked for Chevrolet as a parts manager until the plant closed. He was a welder for Clason-Lorenz and relocated from Chicago to his hometown in Kingsford in 1991. He retired from the Dickinson-Iron Vocation Center in 2001, where he worked as a custodian. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors and camp. He also enjoyed life and will always be remembered for his sense of humor, outgoing personality and willingness to help others. Frank was multi-talented working with wood and could build and fix just about anything mechanical. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and all his buddies.
Frank leaves two sons, Mitchell Rucinski of Tennessee and Keith (Jenny) Rucinski of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; two daughters, Diane (Don) Zabran of Lake Heights, Ill., and Lynette (Jeff) Coffman of Manteno, Ill.; six grandchildren, Lindsey, Allexandra, Ellisa, Johnny, James and Jeremiah; a sister, Linda (Bill) Bell of Iron Mountain and two nieces, Deena (Dave) Pietrantonio and their son, Tony, and Lorrie Bell, all of Iron Mountain.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate.

David Chengary
IRON MOUNTAIN - David Mark Chengary, 55, of 2906 N. US 2, Iron Mountain, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at his home.
He was born May 31, 1947 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Michael and Betty (Seman) Chengary. David has been a resident of this area since 1991 coming from Chicago. He worked for Sagola Hardwood LTD. David attended First Baptist Church and was a member of the Association of the Miraculous Medal. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and loved music.
He is survived by two daughters, Karrin Chengary of Bangor, MI and Cammy Frabe of Bangor, MI; a brother, Paul Chengary of Indiana; a sister, Michaeleen 'Mickey' (Jim) Bernier of Hardwood, MI; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Jacqueline Kline.
Friends may call from 10- 11:00am on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday at the Church. Pastor Keith Wall will officiate.

Richard Erickson
IRON MOUNTAIN - Richard Erickson, 85, of Hardwood, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at his home.
He was born Dec. 3, 1917 in Hardwood, the son of the late John and Minnie Carlson. He has been a resident of Hardwood his entire life. Richard was an animal lover and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray, Lester, Bertil, and Lawrence Erickson; four sisters, Thelma McGuire, Evelyn Hoglund, Elthea Metzger and Ethel Erickson.
He is survived by his brother, Bror 'Buddy' Erickson and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home with funeral services following at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Lloyd Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in the Foster City cemetery.
