ROBERT ROSSBACH
Wildwood
Robert Rossbach, 83, of Wildwood died May 20, 2006. He was born in Lennox, S.D., and moved to Wildwood from Statesville, N.C., in 1985. He was a retired plant manager at Double A Product in North Carolina.
Mr. Rossbach attended the First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He also was an avid golfer at Continental Country Club.
Mr. Rossbach is survived by his daughters, Annette (Randy) Roberts of Fruitland Park, Debra (Timothy) Eaton of Fruitland Park, Melissa (Paul) Nifong of Clemmons, N.C., and Brenda (Jeff) Bristle of Manchester; grandchildren, Jonathan Roberts, Michael and Erin Hansen, James and Jerrod Eaton, Alexander, Patrick and Molly Nifong, Mitchell, and Bradley, Megan and Marcy Bristle; and a great-grandson, Jakob Hansen.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jane (Ward) Rossbach (July 14, 1982); second wife, Mildred "Meme" (Stevens) Rossbach; a son, Michael Rossbach; and a daughter, Nancy Rossbach.
The family received friends May 25 at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home. A funeral was held May 26 at the First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood. The Rev. Daniel Clow officiated. Burial was at Florida National cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

MARY AGNES GUINAN
Chelsea
Mary Agnes Guinan, 96, of Chelsea died May 20, 2006. She was born March 12, 1910, the daughter of George and Anna (Conlan) Doody.
Mrs. Guinan had lived in the area all her life. She was baptized, confirmed and married
at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea. She was a former altar society member, third order of St. Francis, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and the Chelsea Lioness Club.
Mrs. Guinan also was a volunteer with the Chelsea Community Hospital Auxiliary and was honored for 20 years of service in 1993.
Everyone who met Mrs. Guinan loved her.
She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Guinan, and her sister, Ann Murphy.
A funeral was held Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. William Turner officiated. Burial followed at Mount Olivet cemetery in Chelsea.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Louis Center or Great Lakes Hospice.
The family received friends Monday at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea, where a vigil and rosary were held.
LAWRENCE J. MARIANI
Chelsea
Lawrence J. (Larry) Mariani, 80, of Chelsea died May 21, 2006, at Chelsea Community Hospital. He was born July 10, 1925, in Smithton, Pa., the son of Peter and Margaret (Coltura) Mariani.
Mr. Mariani had lived in the Chelsea area for the past four years, moving from Ypsilanti. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea. He enjoyed woodworking, building chairs, lamps, birdhouses and tables. He also loved to fish, especially on Lake Michigan for Coho salmon.
Mr. Mariani played football in school and was captain of his football team. He especially loved his family, with fond memories of family vacations and camping.
On May 6, 1950, he married
Fay C. Bosetti, and she survives. Also surviving are four children, Blayne Mariani of Chelsea, Kolette (Dale) Woloszynek of Twinsburg, Ohio, Rhonda (Marilyn Bradley) Mariani of North Hampton, Mass., and Meleah (Mike) Raupp of Chelsea; five grandchildren, Jared, Brian, Kara, Chelsea and Nick; two sisters, Dolores Korsch and Arlene Snyder; one brother, Ronald Mariani; and one sister-in-law, Ann Mariana, all of Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Mariana.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea.
The family received friends Tuesday at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea.
F. EVELYN CURRY
Unadilla
F. Evelyn Curry, 88, of Unadilla died May 22, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Unadilla the daughter of Austin and Fanny (Scouten) Gorton.
Mrs. Curry graduated from Pinckney High School and Cleary College, and worked in the office of Ypsilanti Stove Co.
She married
Edward L. Curry of Milan July 3, 1938. In 1941, they moved to Garden City. She was secretary of the Garden City Board of Education and bookkeeper for C. Hershey Chevrolet Dealership. She attended the Garden City Presbyterian Church, helping with the children's choir.
Mrs. Curry was co-chairwoman for the first Mother's March of Dimes in Garden City and publicity chairwoman for the United Way. She was a Girl Scout leader; 4-H leader and a Boy Scout den mother.
Mrs. Curry also worked as a substitute teacher for several years and was secretary and office manager for the Wayne County Branch of Michigan Farm Bureau from 1967 to 1978, after which she and her husband returned to their home on Joslin Lake.
Her hobbies were sewing, fishing, bowling, playing cards with family and friends, and attending family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roland and Laurence Gorton; and a daughter, Patricia Curry.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Lewis Curry; daughters, Nancy Christina (Dennis) Kubin of Westland and Betty Colleen (Robert) Barbour of West Bloomfield; and a son, Gary Edward Curry of Garden City.
She is also survived by five granddaughters, Kristi (Al) Blain, Shannon (Chad) McElvany, Colleen Marie (Paul) Dembinski, Stephanie F. Barbour and Jessica Kubin; four great-grandchildren, Erroll Ace, Kira Olivia McElvany, Owen Edward Bloink, McKinnley Jane Dembinski; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Unadilla Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Clover T. Bailey will officiate.
Visitation was Tuesday and Wednesday at Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home in Stockbridge.
Memorial contributions may be made to breast cancer research or the University of Michigan Cancer Center.
EILEEN BROWN
Chelsea
Eileen Brown, 88, of Chelsea died May 9, 2006, at Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arbor. She was born March 23, 1918, in Evansville, Ind., to Oscar E. and Flossie A. (Julian) Toole. On Sept. 3, 1940, she married
William M. Brown, and that union lasted 64 years until he preceded her in death Sept. 13, 2004.
Before her marriage, Mrs. Brown owned a beauty salon in Indiana. After 1940, she devoted her life to her husband and children, and was active in many church and community programs in Dexter.
Survivors include her two children, Jerry M. (Evelyn) Brown of Ann Arbor and Linda J. Brown of Farmington Hills; five grandchildren, Randall M. Brown (Mona), Robert W. Brown, Jennifer L. Wilson (Shaun), Benjamin R. Goldberg, and Alex L. Goldberg; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jada and Marcus Wilson; three sisters, Elinor Mason France of Spurgeon, Ind., Lauretta Oliver of Trenton and Doris (George) Connor of Dexter; and eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James (Jack) Toole and William E. Toole.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James' Episcopal Church in Dexter.

ELEANOR V. CAMPBELL
Chelsea
Formerly of Dexter and
Grosse Pointe Woods
Eleanor V. Campbell, 93, of Chelsea died Monday, May 15, 2006, at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born on Feb. 14, 1913, in Detroit the daughter of Rudolph and Ida Mielke.
Mrs. Campbell retired from Grosse Pointe Orthopedics Associates in Detroit. She spent many winters in Arizona, and enjoyed the Sun City Symphony Orchestra. She was a former member of the Lakes Club in Sun City, Ariz., and the Lochmoor Golf Club in Grosse Pointe Woods.
Mrs. Campbell will be missed by her family.
She married
Jack R. Campbell, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Darcy) Campbell of Ann Arbor; and two granddaughters, Madison and Heather.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

LUKE WILLIAM GRIFKA
Chelsea
Luke William Grifka, infant son of Kevin and Shasta (Angell) Grifka, died unexpectedly May 12, 2006, at the University of Michigan Hospitals.
He is survived by his loving parents of Chelsea; his grandparents, Kenneth (Melane) Kuenzel of Saline, Glen (Susan) Angell of Cadiz, Ky., and William (Mary) Grifka of Chelsea; his great-grandparents; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, 901 N. Main St., in Chelsea. Deacon Richard Shaneyfelt will officiate.
The family received friends Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Michigan Mother-Baby Unit.
MARY J. LONG
Prairie Village, Kan.
Formerly of Dexter
Mary J. Long, 79, of Prairie Village, Kan., died May 14, 2006, at St. Luke's South Hospital. She was born Nov. 30, 1926, in Dexter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Perry A. Long, of 35 years.
Mrs. Long was a lover of nature and wildlife, as exhibited by her many wild bird feeders. She felt most at home at her longtime summer residence in northern Michigan, where she and Perry spent many summers together.
Survivors include her sister, Ann LaRosa of Gaylord; her daughter, Kathy Morrow of Lawrence, Kan.; her son, Dean Long of Overland Park, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday at Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, Kan.

GERALD MERVIN DYBDAHL
Dexter
Formerly of Willis
Gerald "Jerry" Dybdahl, 82, of Dexter, formerly of Willis, died May 6, 2006, at his daughter's home surrounded by his family following a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Dybdahl was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Wallingford, Iowa the son of Selmer T. Dybdahl and Sarah B. Nelson Dybdahl. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1945 as an aviation machinist mate stationed on the U.S.S. Bougainville.
On Nov. 1, 1947, Mr. Dybdahl married
Doris A. Krotz of Mora, Minn. They lived and worked in Minneapolis until 1952, when they moved to Michigan to provide better opportunities and training for their very young, deaf daughter, Lynn.
Mr. Dybdahl retired from American Airlines in 1983. He never had a job he didn't enjoy, a task he couldn't accomplish or met a person he didn't treat with respect and dignity.
Mr. Dybdahl lived in Willis for almost 50 years. He was a member of the Lincoln Community Choir, American Legion and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ypsilanti. He was often seen in that area in his Model A Ford filled with friends and family members.
Mr. Dybdahl had a passion for living and loving. He loved his family and taught by example how to be an active, caring, fun-loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved the water, singing, golf, coffee, lutefisk, lefsa and his pipe. He was a pilot, a sailboat captain, builder, inventor and genuinely unflappable in any crisis.
Mr. Dybdahl was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, in 1996 and daughter, Lynn, in 2001.
Survivors include a son, Mark (Gayl) Dybdahl, and daughter, Beth (Alvin) Anderson; grandchildren Marka (Steve) Eberle, Grant (Brianne) Dybdahl, Alan (Lynette) Anderson, Erik Anderson, Logan Dybdahl and Evan Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Kepler and Anson Eberle.
Mr. Dybdahl will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but his influence will continue to be felt and cherished.
A memorial service was held Friday.

JILLIAN KATKE
Manchester
Jillian Katke, 5, of Manchester died May 10, 2006, at home under the loving care of her family. She was born Jan. 11, 2001, in Ann Arbor the daughter of Peter and Melissa (Hicks) Katke, and they survive.
Jillian is also survived by her sister, Madison; paternal grandparents, Ellen and Jeff Katke of Wolverine; maternal grandparents, Liz and Pete Roopas of Saline, Bob and Sandy Hicks of Jerome, and Shirley and Carl Grimmett of Taylor; aunts and uncles, Mike Hicks, Amy Sanford, Brian and Roxanne Katke, Jason Katke and Tabitha Benyo.
A celebration of her life was held Saturday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Saline and included a visitation before the Mass. The Rev. William Stevenson officiated. Cremation followed.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Down Syndrome Society or to the Michigan Congenital Heart Center at University of Michigan Hospital. Envelopes are available at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home's, Jenter Chapel in Manchester.
In her short life, Jillian touched the lives and hearts of everyone who knew her. Her gentleness will be missed by family and friends.
