Visitation was held Tuesday at the Purse Funeral Home in Adrian.
Cremation will take place following the viewing.

ADELINE CARPENTER
Stockbridge
Adeline Carpenter, 92, of Stockbridge died July 14, 2005, at the Stockbridge Country Manor. She was born Nov. 22, 1912, in Rainelle, W.Va., the daughter of Joseph and Maggie (Manuel) West.
Mrs. Carpenter had lived in the area since 1939 and was a devoted housewife who enjoyed sewing, embroidering and cooking for everybody.
Surviving are six children, Carl Carpenter of Maine, Edsel Carpenter of Chelsea, Jo Anne Arnett of Chelsea, Jack Carpenter of Jacksonville, Fla., Judy (John) Jedele of Ann Arbor and Janet Carpenter of Chelsea.
Also surviving are three sisters, Susie West of Stockbridge, Frances (Dick) Bauer and Phoebe Turner, both of Chelsea; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis L. Carpenter; two sons, Kelly and Arnold Carpenter; four brothers, Clarence, Leo, Harold and Edward West; one sister, Molly; and two infant children.
A funeral was held Saturday at Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home in Stockbridge. The Rev. Billy Allen officiated. Burial was at Oak Lawn cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stockbridge Country Manor or Great Lakes Hospice.
CONRAD E. TURNER
Jackson
Conrad E. Turner, 96, of Jackson died July 13, 2005.
Mr. Turner worked for Michigan Molded Plastics for 28 years. He retired from Sarns with eight years of service.
He enjoyed working with wood and fishing.
Mr. Turner is survived by his daughter, Shirley (Jerald) Heydlauff of Dexter; son, James (Terry) Turner of Saline; grandchildren Sharon (Stephen) Starling of Jerome, Daniel (Kathy) Heydlauff of Colorado, Dale (Gloria) Heydlauff of Ohio, Sue (David) Stanley of Pinckney, David (Heather) Heydlauff of Dexter, James (Priscilla) Turner of Ohio, Robert (Kathy) Turner of Virginia and Jeffrey (Malia) Turner of Ohio; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, of 71 years, who died in November 2004; one sister, Gertrude Rudolph; and one brother, Richard Turner.
A funeral was held Saturday at the Chas. J. Burden & Son funeral home. The Rev. Jerry Bailey officiated. Burial was at Hillcrest cemetery.

WANDA ROGACKI
Chelsea
Formerly of Buffalo, N.Y.
Wanda Rogacki, 84, of Chelsea, formerly of Buffalo, N.Y., died July 16, 2005, at the Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born May 19, 1921, in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of Anthony and Bronislawa (Hajnos) Wierzbic.
Mrs. Rogacki was a member of the Catholic church. She was employed as a senior account clerk for Erie County Highway Department in New York.
In October 1956, she married
Walter J. Rogacki, and he survives. Also surviving are a son, Steven (Mary) Rogacki of Chelsea; a daughter, Susan Rogacki of Buffalo, N.Y.; a grandson, Adam Rogacki; one sister; one brother; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea. The Rev. William Turner officiated.
Burial will be today at St. Adalbert's cemetery in Lancaster, N.Y.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chelsea Retirement Community or St. Mary Catholic Church.
Funeral arrangements were by Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
ELENOR ESTHER KLINK
Chelsea
Elenor Esther Klink, 78, of Chelsea died suddenly July 5, 2005, at Chelsea Community Hospital. She was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Sylvan Center, the daughter of Herman C. and Clara E. (Wellhoff) Eisele.
Mrs. Klink lived in Chelsea all of her life. She retired from Chelsea Milling Co. in 1986.
Mrs. Klink was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, where she was in the Friendship Group and was a former Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Klink was Volunteer of the Year at Faith in Action in 2005. She volunteered at FIA for almost 20 years.
On Sept. 20, 1958, she married
Carl H. Klink at St. Paul church in Chelsea, and he survives.
Other survivors include a son, Roland (Vera) Klink of Chelsea; a granddaughter, Kathryn Klink of Chelsea; a sister, Erma (Norman) O'Conner of North Lake; brothers-in-law Walter Zazczurynski and Albert Klink; sister-in-law, Pauline Hawkins; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen E. (Eisele) Zazczurynski, in 1998.
A funeral was held Friday at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Chelsea. The Rev. Karen Schulte officiated. Burial was at Oak Grove cemetery in Chelsea.
The family received friends last Thursday at Cole Funeral Chapel and Friday at the church.

HOWARD JOSEPH TERNS
Spring Hill, Fla.
Howard Joseph Terns, 78, of Spring Hill, Fla., died June 27, 2005.
Mr. Terns is a native of Dearborn and moved to Florida in 1984. He was a Marine Corp veteran of World War II, and worked as a mechanic and welder.
He is survived by his wife, Norma May "Jo" (Reisler), of 20 years; eight daughters, Roben Coury, Sherrie Terns Sangdeli, Sue Bentley and Tina Agopian, all of Michigan, and Linda Scudamore, Karin Bovee, Patty Switzer and Norma Jean Brown, all of Florida; four sons, Mike Agopian and John Terns of Michigan, Mike Lebert of California, and Timothy Faull of Arkansas.
Other survivors include a brother, Joseph Terns of Michigan; 26 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
SHIRLEY L. SMITH
Chelsea
Shirley L. Smith, 89, of Chelsea died unexpectedly June 28, 2005, at her home. She was born Jan. 29, 1916, in Hartford, the daughter of Thomas C. and Leah C. (Teitsworth) Smith.
Mrs. Smith had lived in Chelsea since 1957, moving to the area from Lincoln Park. She was a member of the Chelsea First United Methodist Church and the Weslyan Circle.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Friends of Chelsea Library and the Chelsea Woman's Club. In addition, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Saline Chapter 311, and a past matron of Olive Chapter 108.
Mrs. Smith retired from the State Department of Education.
She was fond of flowers and cats.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two nieces, Susan (John) Schott and Kathleen F. Wiley of Ann Arbor; four nephews, Thomas (Sandi) Smith, Scott (Peggy) Smith, Stephan Fodale of Alabama and Michael (Holly) Fodale of Marquette; and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral was held Friday at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea. The Rev. Joy Barrett officiated. Burial was at Oak Grove cemetery in Chelsea.
The family received friends last Thursday at the funeral home.

ELIZABETH KLEINSCHMIDT
Dexter
Elizabeth Kleinschmidt, 77, of Dexter died at her home June 29, 2005. She was born Dec. 13, 1927, to Alexander and Victoria (Hebreard) Gellatly.
Mrs. Kleinschmidt earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in 1950 and a master's degree in 1953. She taught school and was a principal at Willow Run Public Schools.
Mrs. Kleinschmidt married
Paul R. Kleinschmidt Dec. 28, 1962, at Webster United Church of Christ in Dexter.
She is survived by her husband; five children, Anne E. (Gary) Lask, Emma Lee (Gerald) Ellison, Robert P. (Cheryl) Kleinschmidt, Richard D. Kleinshmidt and Sandra J. (William) Drake; and 31 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kleinschmidt also is survived by a sister, Victoria (Art) Spang of Kalamazoo and two brothers, John S. Gellatly of LaGrange, Ill., and Robert (Barbara) Gellatly of Virginia.
Visitation was held Friday at the Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Dexter.
A funeral was held Saturday at Webster United Church of Christ. The Rev. LaVerne Gill officiated.
Burial was at Webster cemetery.

BENEDICT J. STAHL "BJ"
of Ann Arbor
formerly of Chelsea.
Age 84, died peacefully with loving family members by his side early Tuesday morning, July 5, 2005 at Huron Woods, his residence in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the last 5 years. We would like to thank the staff of Huron Woods for the loving care they provided our father during his illness. He had previously been a resident of the Chelsea area for 32 years and was a member of St Mary Catholic Church.
B. J. was the founder of Stahl Manufacturing Inc., a producer of wire parts for the automotive industry. He was well known for being a pioneer in the wire forming industry and setting the standard for excellence. He had a tremendous love for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending hours on his tractor gardening and had a great love of music.
He was born February 19, 1921 in Nekoma, North Dakota the son of Peter and Barbara (Spanier) Stahl, both child immigrants from Austria. He loved his childhood years on the farm in the Dakotas. He wrote in his book 'This is My Story' "the prairie grasses were so tall that we could get lost walking in them. I loved the land - it was beautiful; the sky was so blue that it would hurt your eyes. In the evenings, the breezes sounded like oceans as they rolled through the wheat fields." On January 7, 1944 he married
Betty L. Finlay in Detroit and she preceded him in death on October 28, 1985. Betty was his true love and partner in life.
Surviving are two sons Benedict J. Stahl II (Lynda) of Plymouth, Richard R. Stahl (Karen) of Chelsea, and one daughter Faith Burke of Howell; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Jennifer) Tim, Michelle (Brian) Loose, Patrick (Cheryl), Daniel (fiance Kelly), Richard, Sarah (Noel) Walsh, Jennifer Jacobs and Stephanie (Zac) McKinstry and nine great grandchildren, brothers Arthur of Mexico, Frank, Vince (Elaine) of Pinckney and sister Ethylene (Mike) Wilhelmi of Tennessee and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, infant daughter Hope, sister Elizabeth Wilhelmi of Tennessee, brother Edward of Dearborn Heights.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday July 8, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Dr. William J. Turner presiding. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Chelsea. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-9 P.M. also Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 with rosary at 7:30 at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, 901 North Main Street, Chelsea.

PAULINE M. MILLER

Formerly of Ann Arbor
Pauline M. Miller, 93, of Grass Lake, formerly of Ann Arbor, died June 22, 2005, at Cedar Knoll Care Center. She was born April 26, 1912, in Paulding County, Ohio, the daughter of Monte and Ada Grace (Brown) Davison.
Mrs. Miller was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chelsea. She worked for Hoover Ball Bearing before her retirement.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
Mrs. Miller married
Marvin E. Miller May 11, 1931, and he preceded her in death May 11, 1970.
Survivors include two sons, Donald M. (Angela) Miller of Grass Lake and David E. Miller of Grass Lake; six grandchildren, Donna (Anthony) Robards, Barbara Miller, Cheryl (Chris) Kolb, Brad (Linda) Miller, Susan Miller and Kristen (Jim) Boccher; and eight great-grandchildren, Jason and Jessica Risner, Melissa Robards, Nicholas and Kayla Kolb, Ashley and Makenzie Miller, and Michael Lams.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Carl Davison; two sisters, Gladys Feldkamp and Vera Guenther Casterline; and a granddaughter, Michelle Miller.
A funeral was held Monday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chelsea. The Rev. Dale Grimm officiated.
Burial was at Bethlehem cemetery in Ann Arbor.
