DALE FOSDICK
Saline
Dale Pershing Fosdick, 88, of Saline, an industrialist, died July 20, 2007, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Fosdick was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Ann Arbor at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He lived in Saline for 23 years and in Ann Arbor for 40 years, moving to a farm on Austin Road, where he raised registered Texas longhorns.
Mr. Fosdick graduated first in his class from Saline High School in 1936 and received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineeringfrom the University of Michigan in 1941.
He married
Marilyn Schill Aug. 23, 1941, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bridgewater.
During World War II, he managed an industrial filter company in Wayne devoted entirely to products for the war effort. In August 1944, he was instrumental in forming Pittsfield Products Inc. As president, he developed the company into a premiere manufacturer of perforated metal and wire cloth products for the industrial strainer and filtration market.
Mr. Fosdick's entrepreneurial skills brought numerous innovations to the industry, as well as proprietary machinery and equipment and patents that enhanced the company's growth. He has remained active with the company throughout his life.
For more than 50 years, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor, as well as the Saline Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star.
He loved music and generously supported the University of Michigan in many areas, including his membership in the Victors Club. A lover of boating, he enjoyed many river trips in Europe with the U of M Alumni Club. He spent many winter months in Nassau, Bahamas, where he had made many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Anna Klump Fosdick; daughter, Kay Suzanne; adaughter-in-law, Catherine Fosdick; and son-in-law, Thomas Dickey Jr.
Mr. Fosdick is survived by his wife, Marilyn; one son, Theodore; two daughters, Roxanne Dickey and Cynthia Fosdick; one son-in-law, Robert Beattie; a step-sister-in-law, Dorothy Mann of Manchester; eight grandchildren; and many step-nieces and step-nephews.
Memorial services will be at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor.
Memorial contributions may be made to the fund for renovation of the Trinity Lutheran Church organ, the Evangelical Home of Saline or a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements were entrusted to Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline.
FLORENCE A. SEEGER
Saline
Florence A. Seeger, 90, of Saline died July 23, 2007, at St. Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1916, the daughter of Gottlieb and Eutema (Wiedmayer) Girbach. She married
Carl W. Seeger Jan. 28, 1939, in Saline, and he preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1997.
Mrs. Seeger was a member ofTrinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saline.
She is survived by herchildren, Richard Seeger of New York, David (Diane) Seeger of Saline and Jan (Robert) Camp of Saline.
She is also survived by her granddaughters, Brenda and Tracy Camp; her grandsons, Steve, Eric (Melissa) and Tim Seeger; hergreat-grandchildren, Tyler, Anthony, Kelly and Parker; and her sister-in-law, Hazel Seeger.
Mrs. Seeger was preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant son, Stanley, and three brothers.
Visitation was held Wednesday at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline.
Visitation also will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service 11a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saline. The Rev. William Natsis will officiate.
Burial will be at Oakwoodcemetery in Saline.
LAUREN GALL
Britton
Lauren E. Gall, 77, of Britton died July 24, 2007, at Herrick Medical Center. He was born Aug. 13, 1929, in Saline the son of Edwin A. and Nellie (Mohrardt) Gall. On Jan. 11, 1950, he was united in marriage with Marie McWilliams, and she survives.
Lauren retired from Tecumseh Products in the early 1990s after many years of devoted service. He spent many years working on the family farm and enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and gardening. He also enjoyed playing games, particularly winning, and spending time with his family and friends. He also had a great love for his cats.
In addition to his wife, Marie, Mr. Gall is survived by two sons, Tim Gall of Britton and Byron (Jean) Gall of Tecumseh; one daughter, Kim Gall of Grand Rapids; one sister, Evelyn Auten of Tecumseh; two grandchildren, Joanna and James Gall; in-laws, Alice (Vernon) Pratt, LaRue McWilliams, Ben (Pat) McWilliams; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia Hunter.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. July 28 at Britton Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Bob Wright will officiate. Interment will follow at Ridgeway cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes and 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Britton Bethel Baptist Church.
JUANITA HEILBRONN
Milan
Juanita Heilbronn, 98, of Milan went to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 21, 2007. She was born July 27, 1909, in Mecosta County to Charley and Eva (Snyder) Wilson.
Mrs. Heilbronn had been a member of the Milan Baptist Church and was involved with many organizations in the Milan community, as well as many other committees and organizations in the surrounding area. Throughout her years of service, she has been recognized for many achievements, including honored as one of Michigan's Sesquicentennial first ladies.
In addition to her son, Tom (Ruth Ann Kirby), survivors include three grandchildren, Angela, Kendra and Marcus; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton, in 1975.
A funeral was held Friday at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home in Milan. The Rev. Blake Hunt officiated. Burial followed at Marble Park cemetery in Milan.

GLADYS RUTH BRAUN
Saline
Gladys Ruth Braun, 85, of Saline died Aug. 25, 2007, at the Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arbor after a brief illness. She was born March 20, 1922, in Saline, the daughter of Micah and Jessie (Rhodes) Robison.
Mrs. Braun had been a lifelong resident of Saline. She was a 1938 graduate of Saline High School. Upon graduating from beautician school, she worked as a cosmetologist.
On Nov 30, 1946, at the Martha Mary Chapel in Macon, she married
Theodore F. Braun and he preceded her in death on Sept 14, 1989. After beginning her family, her life work was to raise a loving, caring and hardworking family.
Mrs. Braun was a longtime member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Saline, serving on the Altar Committee for 27 years. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, including visiting shut-ins at the Saline Evangelical Home and delivering Meals on Wheels. She was also a member of the Saline American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons and three daughters, Roger (Mary) Braun of Ann Arbor, Cindy (Wes) Armbruster of Brighton, Barbara (Charles) Truesdell III of Eagle, Gary (Kim) Braun of Saline, Nancy (Chris) Leite of Ann Arbor and Steve (Shelley) Braun of Saline; 14 grandchildren, Anne and Logan Braun, Nicole, Danielle, and Anastasia Truesdell, Kyle Braun, Peter, John, Jacob and Katie Leite, and Lee, Evan, T.J., and Brett Braun.
Elmer Diuble was Mrs. Braun's longtime special friend. They were avid euchre players, loved to go out to eat (Thank you, Saline Inn), and frequented church ice cream socials and community functions.
Other survivors include one sister, Alberta Rogers; one sister-in-law, Jean Robison; one brother-in-law, Bill Laube; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Stanley, Ellsworth and Theodore Robison; and one sister, Gertrude Robison.
A funeral was held Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Arbor Hospice or the Saline Senior Center.
Local arrangements were by Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline.
LON DOUGLAS SCHNEIDER
Cadillac
Lon Douglas Schneider, 55, of Cadillac, died Aug. 19, 2007, at Cadillac Mercy Hospital. He was born March 17, 1952, in Red Bud, Ill. He was born to Hugo and Patricia A. (Gleason) Schneider.
Mr. Schneider served as a coach, teacher and mentor throughout his entire life. He began his work with at-risk youth in Harlem, N.Y., when he was 17 years old. Since then, he has worked in Kalamazoo, Albion, Manton, Pine River, McBain, Falmouth and Clinton, continuing his deep compassion for and support of youth from all walks of life.
Mr. Schneider enjoyed sports, boating, spending time with family and friends, inventing absurd nicknames for students and family members alike, causing mischief and caring deeply for most everyone. He will be missed.
Survivors include two children, Staff Sgt. Aaron William Schneider of San Diego, Calif., and Corrine Adene Schneider of Philadelphia, Pa.; brothers, Peter Ray Schneider of Saline and Lance Edward (Brenda) Schneider of Raleigh, N.C.; sister, Darcy Delynn Griebel of Saline; mother, Patricia A. Schneider of Clinton; nieces and nephews, Casey, Kelsey, Dylan and Gleason; and several aunts and uncles.
Preceding his in death was his father, Hugo Schneider.
Services were held Aug. 22 at the First Congregational Church in Cadillac. The Rev. William Hirschfeld officiated. Burial was at Oak Hill cemetery in Saline Township.
Arrangements were by Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac.

HOLLY L. MARTIN
Ann Arbor
Holly L. Martin, 19, of Ann Arbor died suddenly Nov. 16, 2006.
She was the beloved "Sweetie Girl" of Robert and Jean (Herter) Martin, and sister of Jackie Martin. In her short life, she touched everyone who met her.
She is survived by her parents; sister; grandmothers, Marie Herter and Lois Martin Royal; cousins, Josh and Jake Herter, Amanda Laberdee, Mike, Jenna and Carson Berry, and Jeff Berry; and aunts and uncles, Kim and Dave Herter, Dale Herter, Judy and Pat Laberdee, and Cheryl and Mark Berry.
She was preceded in death by three grandfathers, Paul Herter, G. Merritt Martin and Dick Royal, and an aunt, Linda Martin.
Ms. Martin will be deeply missed by her caregivers at High Point School and Just-Us-Club after-school respite, as well as her Saline school bus drivers and aides.
Visitation was held Tuesday at Bethel United Church of Christ in Freedom Township.
A Service of Memory will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel United Church of Christ. The Rev. Kari Nicewander will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions may be made to High Point PSO, Just-Us-Club at High Point school or the Washtenaw County 4-H Advisory Board. Envelopes will be available at the church.

BARBARA M. STEMEN
Saline
Barbara M. Stemen, 85, of Saline died Nov. 17, 2006, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Washington Township the daughter of Pliny and Mae (Buckman) Thomas.
On April 12, 1941, in Rochester, she married
Ernest A. Stemen and he preceded her in death April 25, 2003.
She belonged to the Home Extension, and she and Ernest were longtime members of the Ann Arbor Country Club.
Mrs. Stemen is survived by three children, Carole (Duane) Brinkley of Ann Arbor, Milton Stemen of Manchester and Bonnie (Clare) Fiser of Saline; six grandchildren, Rodney (Dianne) Stemen, Stephannie (Matt) Seidl, Timothy (Pamela) Stemen, William Brinkley, Tina Fiser and Dawn (Rick) Perrington; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline. The Rev. Rachel Woods will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Grove cemetery in Manchester.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Home in Saline. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home, where friends may stop by from noon until the time of the service Wednesday.
