RUTH L. REUM
Superior Township
Ruth L. Reum, 92, died Sept. 16, 2007, at Superior Woods Nursing Center with her loving family by her side. She was born June 7, 1915, in Milan Township to Roscoe J. and Nancy (Preston) Rendel.
Mrs. Reum worked for several years at Wolverine Plastics, the Milan Bakery for 13 years and was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, doing puzzles, crocheting and being a member of the Cone Happy Homemakers.
On Nov. 1, 1932, she married
Earl L. Reum in Rea, and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1996.
Survivors include one son, Duane (Yvonne) Reum of Charlotte, and six daughters, Marilyn (Carl) Lowrey of Wayne, Joyce (Richard) Vershum of Milan, Louella McAllister of Venice, Fla., Karen (Stan) Reynolds of Grass Lake, Deborah (Ron) Erskine of Chelsea and Sherrie (Rob) Barbret of Whitmore Lake.
She is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leland Rendel of Ypsilanti and George D. Rendel of Sebring, Fla.; and three sisters, Mildred Kemp-Rowe and Margaret Schechter, both of Ypsilanti, and Lucille Dindoffer of Lambertville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; three children, Rose Marie Reum, Wilma Reum and William Reum; two sisters, Dorothy Rendel and Rose Rhorah; and her son-in-law, Howard McAllister.
A funeral was held Wednesday at the Milan Baptist Church. Burial was at Rice cemetery.

ANN STREMLER BINGHAM
Milan
Ann M. Stremler Bingham, 46, of Milan died unexpectedly Aug. 27, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born Nov. 8, 1960, in Pontiac to Bernard J. and Thelma A. (Wahl) Stremler.
She enjoyed many outdoor activities, especially camping, fishing and golfing. She was adventurous and always willing to try new things.
Ann Stremler Bingham expressed her talents with remodeling, home improvements, gardening, cooking and sewing. There wasn't anything she didn't enjoy doing or trying.
She will always be remembered for her positive attitude and great outlook on life. Most of all, she was a devoted and loving mother, great friend and special sister.
In addition to her fiancÈ, Larry Belleau of Milan, she is survived by her son, Daniel Stremler Yatch of Milan; sisters, Kay Stremler of Dexter, Susan (Bill) Stremler-Hines of Milan; brother, David (Sylvia) Stremler of Clearwater, Fla.; and five nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
JAMES FRANCIS WHITE JR.
Saline
James Francis White Jr., 76, of Saline died Sept. 17, 2007, surrounded by his family. He was born 1931, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of James and Gertrude White.
As a young man, he was interested in model airplanes and subsequently in aviation and photography. He served in the U.S. Air Force in an electronic aerial mapping and radar unit, and became an aerial camera technician.
At 26, Mr. White earned his private pilot's license. On returning from the Air Force, he was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration for 36 years as an air traffic controller. In 1985 as tower chief of Ann Arbor Municipal Airport, he received a certificate of achievement for his special efforts in making Ann Arbor the No. 1 facility in the Great Lakes region.
Mr. White was a amateur radio operator with the call letters W8FZN and made friends around the world.
He met his wife of 48 years, Mary Lou Etherington, in January 1958, and they were married
the following January. Both were involved in Marriage Encounter for many years.
When Mr. White retired, he started an aerial photography business called AIR-PIC. He will be remembered as ìMr. Fix It.î He would say, ìIf I can't fix it, it can't be fixed.î
His family said they would miss his love for them and appreciated his loving care for his beloved wife. They also said they will miss his fudge, gravy and daily oatmeal.
Mr. White is survived by his wife, Mary Lou of Saline; three children, Karen (Mike) Siladi of Louisville, David White of Saline and Anthony White of Saline; three grandsons, James, Daniel and Andrew Siladi of Louisville; and siblings, Theresa Peters of San Anselmo, Calif., Cecilia Patton of Westminster, Colo., and John White of Martinez, Ga.
He was preceded in death by sister, Virginia Kneib, and brother, David White.
Visitation was held Wednesday at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline and will continue from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 11 a.m. The Rev. Fr. Gordon Reigle will serve as celebrant.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Andrew's Catholic Church Columbarium Fund, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Arbor Hospice and Homecare. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and at the church.
LONA LEE KEISER BAILEY
Chelsea
Lona Lee Keiser Bailey, 80, of Chelsea died Nov. 7, 2006, at the Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Crumpler, W.Va., the daughter of the late Eugene Lee and Mable Ailene (Angle) Keiser.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Jordan's Chapel United Methodist Church in Pulaski, Va., and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Avner Bailey.
Survivors include a daughter, Patty (Edward) Nuernberg of Ann Arbor; two grandchildren, Erica Michelle Nuernberg and John Robert Nuernberg; and two great-grandchildren, Diana Michelle Lewis and Morgan Paige Lewis.
A memorial service was held Nov. 10 at the Chelsea Retirement Community main chapel. A funeral was held Nov. 13 at Jordan's Chapel United Methodist Church in Pulaski. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va.
Local arrangements were by Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
CARL F. RORABACHER
Saline
Carl F. Rorabacher, 78, of Saline died Nov. 4, 2006, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 29, 1928, in Plymouth, the son of Carl A. and Flora E. (Curtis) Rorabacher.
On Aug. 5, 1950, he married
Shirley Johnson, and she preceded him in death Oct. 20, 1998.
Mr. Rorabacher worked for Puralator Filter in Wayne for 23 years, followed by 23 years at Ford Motor Co. in Saline, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed farming and playing the guitar. He will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew him.
Mr. Rorabacher is survived by his two sons, Danny of Saline and Steven (Noreen) of Partlow, Va.; four daughters, Sherry (George) Service of Clinton, Debbie (Rod) Tindall of Porterville, Calif., Sondra (Darren) McElroy of Tipton and Tammy (David) Bender of McDonough, Ga.; two brothers, Vern (Virginia) Rorabacher of Adrian and Eugene (Cathy) Rorabacher of Wayne; one sister, Patricia (Willis) Johnston of Manchester; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, and parents, Mr. Rorabacher is preceded in death by one sister, Wanda.
A funeral was held Nov. 11 at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. The Rev. Tom Hawkins of New Song Community Church officiated. Burial was at Macon cemetery.

FLORENCE BARBER
Chelsea
Formerly of Stony Creek
Barber, Florence, 97, of Chelsea, formerly of Stony Creek, died Nov. 6, 2006, at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born Jan. 24, 1909, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Pyatt) Govier.
Mrs. Barber was a very loving mother who enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a devoted grandmother who enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Barber crocheted many afghans for the newborns at the University of Michigan Hospital. She was always willing to help others.
She was a very active member of Stony Creek United Methodist Church. After moving to the Chelsea Retirement Community, she continued to volunteer for almost her entire stay of 15 years.
Mrs. Barber was known as the "flower lady" because she would arrange flower bouquets throughout the retirement community, and she helped in the memorial rose garden.
On Aug. 13, 1938, she married
Hayward H. Barber in Cleveland, and he preceded her in death June 17, 1994.
Mrs. Barber was a caring mother of Alfred (Nancy) Barber of Chelsea, Gail (Bernie) Wilson of Onsted and Ann Chriscinske of Parma; grandmother who dearly loved her grandchildren, Kathy (Karl) Schmid, Timothy (Kathy) Wilson and Amy (Mark) Pfister, Margi, Debbie, and Eric Chriscinske; and her eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Chelsea Retirement Community Chapel. The Rev. Richard Jones will officiate.
Mrs. Barber expressed the wish that her body be donated to the University of Michigan for educational use. Her ashes will be interred at the Chelsea Retirement Community Memorial Garden next to her husband's at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chelsea Retirement Community for Benevolent Patient Care.

HELEN L. BEAUCH
Milan Township
Helen L. Beauch, 82 of Milan Township died Dec. 30, 2006, at Evangelical Home in Saline. She was born March 22, 1924, in Ann Arbor to Walter and Edith (Kniffen) Smith.
She married
Dorn Gilson in 1942 and then married
Glen W. Beauch April 29, 1950. Mr. Beauch died Dec. 29, 2003.
Mrs. Beauch graduated from Dundee High School in 1942 and was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Azalia Grange, the Azalia United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Stars, Milan Ruth Chapter 106.
Survivors include six daughters, Kay (Jim) Crunkilton of Deerfield, Karen Rigel (Ken Falk) of Ypsilanti, Myra Warren of Ypsilanti, Ellen Russell of Dundee, Glenna Kennedy (Richard Hazelwood) of West Virginia and Terry (Greg) Keilman of Milan; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one brother, Bill (Carole) Smith of London Township.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Leslie Glen Beauch, in 1952; a brother, Harold Smith; two sisters, Luella McDonald and Wilma Stuart; and a son-in-law, Harley Russell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Home of Saline.
A funeral was held Jan. 4 at Cover Funeral Home in Dundee. The Rev. Kathleen Groff officiated.
Mrs. Beauch's remains were interred at Azalia cemetery.
