- Of Lapeer, age 93, died Monday, June 21, 1999. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, 2-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer.
DIMOCK, Clarence C.
- Of Clio, age 68, died Sunday, June 20, 1999 at the V.A. Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Friends may call at the Whipple-O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Wednesday from 11AM until 9PM with a American Legion Memorial Service being held at 7PM. Clarence was born October 30, 1930 in Flint, MI, the son of Earl and Ella (Splaine) Dimock. He had resided in the Clio area the past 50 years. Clarence was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion. Surviving are: 2 sisters, Jackie and husband Ray Tufford of Clio, Myrtle Monahan of Boston, MA; sister- in-law, Doris Dimock of Flint. Clarence was preceded in death by his brother, Earl and sister, Bessie.
EKLUND, Carl W.
- Of East Tawas, MI, formerly of Mt. Morris/Flint, died Sunday, June, 20, 1999, age 87. Among survivors are: his wife, Vicki and a daughter, Bonnie (Richard) Grebe of East Tawas. Service will be Wednesday, June 23, 1999 at 1PM at the East Tawas Baptist Church. Visitation Tuesday 6-9PM at the Jacques & Kobs Funeral Home, Tawas City and after 12 Noon Wednesday at the church.
ERNEST, James Frederick, Jr.
- 83, died March 20, 1999 in Hudson, FL. He and his wife were winter visitors from Flint, MI. He was born in Carlysle, IL to James and Luey (Kelley) Ernest on December 14, 1915. He graduated from Fostoria High School in Clio. He was the former proprietor of C&W Electric, Inc. in Flint, MI. Jime was a 50 year member of the Brotherhood of Electrical workers, Local 948, Flint, MI and a Veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Majil (Winn) Ernest; children, Daniel (Cindy Angelbeck) of Bayonet Pt., FL, Arita Putnam of New Port Richey, Jeffrey (Ivy Gregory) of Swartz Creek, MI; grandchildren, Daniel II, Melissa Starr, Jessica and Ashley; 2 great-grandchildren, Shelby and Timothy; nephew, Leland Ernest; son of his brother, George. He was predeceased by his son, Robert; brothers, Clare, George, Charles and sister, Delta Wolsdorf.

- Of Grand Blanc, age 65, died Saturday, June 19, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM Wednesday, June 23, 1999 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11824 South Saginaw in Grand Blanc, Father James Swiat officiating. Burial in Evergreen cemetery. Those desiring, may make contributions to a charity of one's choice. Visitation 2-4 and 6- 9PM Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A vigil service will be held at 7PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
HAMILTON, Hildred G.
- Age 94, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 1999 at Clio Convalescent Home. A funeral service will be held at 12noon on Wednesday, June 23, 1999 at Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Rd. with Rev. Thomas R. Kimbrough officiating. Burial will follow at East Fork cemetery, in Barryton, MI. Visitation will be held from 11AM until the time of service.
HARRELL, Dorothy M.
- Age 76, died May 28, 1999 in Sebring, FL. She was born in Flint and moved to Sebring in 1964 with her late husband, Harry (Red) Harrell. She is survived by: a son, Robert Malmquist of Frostproof, FL; sister, Norma Stadleberger of Flushing, MI; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren; and 5 nieces. - Age 98, died Sunday, June 20, 1999 at Willowbrook Manor, Inc. Flint Park Blvd. Afterwhich, she will be taken to the Lavender Funeral Service, Hwy 17 S., Aliceville, Alabama 35442, (205) 373-2420. Interment Christian Hope Baptist Church cemetery, Aliceville, AL. Mrs. Sallie Bell Hodo was born July 31, 1900 in Reform, Alabama, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terrell and Emma (Guyton) Sanders. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, William (Addie) Hodo; grandson, James (Florice) Hodo, Sr; granddaughter, Willa (Gilbert) Hairston; 5 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

IGOU, Mary Agnes
- Of Davison, formerly of Pennsylvania, age 85, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM Thursday, June 24, 1999 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 Dayton St. Davison. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski officiating. Burial in St. John Parish cemetery. Mary was born in Mammoth, PA August 13, 1913, the daughter of William and Agnes (Czernik) Pluto. She had resided in PA most her her life and Davison the last several years. Surviving are: daughter, Marilyn Hennig of Davison; grandchildren, Gerri Lynn Pavone of Grand Blanc, Edward Hennig of Maine, Catherine Gillespee of Ohio, Raymond Hennig of Grand Blanc.
JOHNSTON, James Elbert
- Of Yucaipa, California, formerly of Flint, age 78, died Monday, June 21, 1999 at Loma Linda Community Hospital in Yucaipa, California. Graveside service will be held at 1PM Friday, June 25, 1999 at Crestwood cemetery, Reverend Ray Phelps officiating. Burial in Crestwood cemetery. There will be no visitation at the Swartz Funeral Home. Mr. Johnston was born in Manilla, Arkansas on April 14, 1921 and was a resident of Flint most of his life, moving to Yucaipa, California in 1980. He served in the U.S. Army as Commando 81st Division during World War II. He was wounded in action at Palau Island. Mr. Johnston retired from Buick. Surviving are sister, Madeline Henry of Flint; sister-in-law, Norma Jean Johnston of Swartz Creek; many nieces, nephews and very good friend, Kay Angle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche on October 22, 1998; parents, Walter and Ruth Johnston.

- Age 88, of New Port Richey, FL, died Friday, June 18, 1999 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, June 25, 1999 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, Pastor Don Stowell officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-5 and 7-9PM Thursday. Clara waa born September 24, 1910 in Charleston, MO, the daughter of Reid and Fannie (Hampton) Kirkpatrick. She had resided in Florida the past 28 years, coming from Fenton. She married Amuel Kirk and he preceded her in death in 1993. She and her husband owned and operated Kirk Chrysler in Fenton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, New Port Richey and the O.E.S. #248 in Fenton. Surviving are: son, Amuel M. Kirk, Jr. and wife Kathleen of Gladwin; 5 grandchildren, Stephen Kirk of MN, Cyndi and husband Mike Harless of NE, Sue and husband Mike Labine, Kim and husband Patrick McNamee, Kevin and wife Penny Kirk, all of MN; 6 great- grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
