HAMMON, George W.
- Of Fenton, age 80, died Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Saturday, February 13, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Brother Levi Parish officiating. Burial in Thetford Township cemetery, with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #3087 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Crestmont Nursing Home or the American Heart Association. Visitation 1-4 and 6-9PM Friday at the funeral home.
BOWLES, Thomas P. (10 Grand Tommy Bowles)
- Of Grand Blanc, age 51, died Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Florida, due to an auto racing accident. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Monday, February 15, 1999 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 North Adelaide in Fenton, Father David W. Harvey officiating. Burial in Evergreen cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family for various Memorial Funds to be set up in Tommy's memory. Visitation 1-9PM Saturday and 2-9PM Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Bowles will be at the church Monday from 10AM until the time of the service. A scripture service will be held at 5PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Bowles was born in Flint, Michigan on November 9, 1947 and was a resident of Grand Blanc and Fenton all his life. He married Mary Ann Dagenais. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, American Legion, Moose Lodge, Eagles, UDRA and MCR, United Dwarf Car Racing Association, Midwest Classic Racers and was a Special Deputy for the Genesee County Sheriff Department. Mr. Bowles owned and operated Tiger Auto Salvage. He has been in the Auto Parts and Salvage business for over 28 years. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann; sons, Bruce and wife Kim Bowles of Burton, George Lewis and fiancee' Jenifer Jakubowski of Rogersville, TN, Charles and wife Tracy Lewis of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Cherie and husband Rick Wilson of Flint; step-children, David Sprague of Grand Blanc, Angie and husband Don DuBois of Fenton; grandchildren, Heather, Joshua, Jeffrey, Courtney "C.J.", Sarah, Megan, Mitchell and Delaney; father and mother, Bruce and Nina (Tootie) Bowles of Grand Blanc; mother, Mary Ruth and husband Roscoe Miller of Fresno, CA; brothers, Dennis and wife Norma Bowles, Patrick Bowles, and James Brigance, all of Flint; sisters, Sharon and husband John R. McKerring of San Diego, CA, Victoria and husband Chris Kelly of Flint Township, Peggy and husband John Zito of Grand Blanc; brother-in-law, Raymond and wife Diane Dagenais of Linden; special uncles, Rex Jones and Paul Schneiderham; several nieces, nephews and a host of special friends; best friend, business partner and confidant, Robert Roney and wife Lorraine of Grand Blanc.

- Of Flint, age 83, died Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pastor Roger Kilponen will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday at Rossell Funeral Home and noon until time of service at the church on Saturday. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour Ministries or the American Lung Association.

WILEY, Marvin
- Age 68, of Clarkston, died Thursday, February 11, 1999. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, February 15, 1999 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly, Rev. Dean Dumbrille officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9PM Sunday. Mr. Wiley was born in Dearborn, MI on August 16, 1930, the son of William and Lenora (York) Wiley. Surviving are: his son, Mark Wiley of Ann Arbor; daughter, Kenice Schooley of Wateford; 2 brothers, Orlynn Wiley of Dearborn and William Wiley of Texas; sister, Darlene (Vic) Verricello of Highland; and his nephew, Michael Anderson of Flint. Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes.

KETCHABAW, Mrs. Louise C.
- Age 87, died February 10, 1999. Born December 30, 1911, in Saginaw to Ernest and Clara (Meuller) Hampel, she had lived in Flint until 1995. She was married to Theodore Kippy and later to Henry Ketchabaw, both of whom preceded her in death. She had been a factory worker at A.C. Spark Plug Co. in Flint until retiring and was a member of Flint Christian Missionary Alliance. Mrs. Ketchabaw was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally Cudney and a sister Alta Michaels. Surviving are: 2 daughters, Donna (Jack) Lewis of East Tawas and Jean (Charles) Crane of West Branch; 10 grandchldren; numerous great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Kenneth (Shirley) Michaels of Gaines. A service will be held Saturday, February 13, 1999 at 1PM from Clock Chapel-Whitehall. Interment will be in Flint Memorial Park cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 7-8PM and Saturday 11AM until service time at Clock Funeral Home in Whitehall.

Main St., Flushing, MI, Dr. James Rea of First Presbyterian Church of Flint will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Hills cemetery, with Honor Guard following. BURNS, Richard Paul
Age 77, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 12-9 p.m. Friday, with an American Legion Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Richard was born June 1, 1921 in Detroit, the son of John and Neva Burns. He married Jean Emily Clifford in 1946 in Detroit. Mr. Burns was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII and The Korean Conflict, where he was a 1st Lieutenant. He received a Silver Star for his duty in both WWII and The Korean Conflict. Mr. Burns was a member of Swartz Creek VFW Post #3720 and a life member of the Swartz Creek American Legion Post #294. His career was in Sales, primarily at Western Steel. Surviving are: wife, Jean; 3 sons, Richard Paul Burns Jr. of Ann Arbor, Brian Thomas Burns of Swartz Creek, James Patrick Burns of New York; granddaughter, Raven Ashton Burns of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Marjorie Murtaugh of Kalamazoo. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
