CRAWFORD, Sally Christine
- Of Mt. Morris, age 69, died Friday, February 12, 1999 at Genesys Hospice Center. Funeral service will be 11AM Monday, February 15, 1999 from the Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church, Pastor Bob Burkey and Pastor David Collins will officiate. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Mrs. Crawford will remain at Miles Martin Funeral Home, where friends may call after 6PM Saturday and all day Sunday. Sunday evening at 7PM the Mt. Morris Chapter #474 O.E.S. will assemble at the funeral home for an Eastern Star Memorial. Monday morning Mrs. Crawford will be taken to church to lie in state from 10AM until time of service at 11AM. Memorials may be considered for her church, Genesys Hospice, or A.L.S.. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. She was born August 13, 1929 in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clare and Agnes (Chrivia) Kelly. She and Fred Crawford were united in marriage February 25, 1950. She was a member of Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church and the Mt. Morris Chapter #474 O.E.S. Surviving are: husband, Fred; 2 sons and 1 daughter, Tom and wife Denise Crawford of Clio, Terrilynn and husband Paul Hiben of Montrose, Sam Crawford of Mt. Morris; 4 grandchildren, Brian Crawford, Blake Hiben, Abbey Smith, Adam Smith; 1 sister and 2 brothers, Maxine and husband Russell Jackson of West Branch, Byron and wife Karen Kelly of TX, Joe and wife Lillian Kelly of Virginia; mother-in-law, Peg Crawford of West Branch; brother-in-law, Ed and wife Sue Crawford of West Branch; several nieces and nephews. Special family friends, Naomi, Hilliker and Wayne Davis, Don, Tammy, Adam and Cole Iaquinto.
BIXBY, Gail J.
- Age 72 years, of Hale, MI, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Friday, February 12, 1999 at his home. He was born on September 1, 1926 in Flint to Gail W. and Elizabeth (Wright) Bixby. He retired from the Fisher Body Ternstedt Plant, where he worked as a maintenance man. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was a survivor of the USS Calhoun DD801. He served as the Vice- President of the USS Calhoun Survivor Association for 2 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 3087 in Flint, Hale Masonic Lodge, and American Legion Post in Salem, IL. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Bixby of Hale; son, Jerry (Susan) Bendickson of South Branch; daughters, Linda Lewis of Hale, Darlene Enders of Sarasota, FL, and Susan (Kevin) Most of Sarasota, FL; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bernard, Robert and Todd Bixby, all of Flint, sisters, Alberta Skodak of Chesaning, Barbara Robinson of Flint and Debbie Clark of Otisville; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Marlene Bixby. No services will be held. Arrangements by Frizzell Funeral Home, Hale, MI.
BOWLES, Thomas P. (10 Grand Tommy Bowles)
- Of Grand Blanc, age 51, died Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Florida, due to an auto racing accident. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Monday, February 15, 1999 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 North Adelaide in Fenton, Father David W. Harvey officiating. Burial in Evergreen cemetery, with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #3087 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family for various Memorial Funds to be set up in Tommy's memory. Visitation 1-9PM Saturday and 2-9PM Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Bowles will be at the church Monday from 10AM until the time of the service. A scripture service will be held at 5PM Sunday at the funeral home.
BRANCHEAU, Mildred
- Age 86, of Fenton, died Thursday, February 11, 1999 at Fenton Extended Care. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, February 15, 1999 at the Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Father Bernard Tyler officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery, Gaines. Mrs. Brancheau was born in Flint, MI September 19, 1912. She married Leo A. Brancheau in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1965. She lived in Fenton and Flint for many years and then in Ohio. She was a past member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Fenton American Legion, Fenton VFW Auxiliary. She was a past member of A.B.W.A. in Youngstown , OH. She is survived by: 4 sons, Bryce and Linda Brancheau of Owosso, Robert and Darlene Brancheau of Fenton, Keith and Sharlene Brancheau of Flint and James Brancheau of Austin Town, OH; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Edwin Clayton and wife Donna Warner of Byron and Edward G. and wife Lucille Warner of Durand; and sister, Jessie Wilson of Fenton; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Gladis Warner, her step- daughter, Regina (Toots) Haire; step-son, Kenneth Brancheau; and her granddaughter Tina Marie Brancheau.
HAWS, Dennis Edward
- Age 51, of Burton, MI, died on Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, February 6, 1999 at Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Road. Interment at Crossroads cemetery in Lorado, Arkansas. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6- 9PM on Friday, and from 9AM until the time of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
BRANDT, Hazell I.
- Age 92, of Holly, died Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Saturday, February 6, 1999 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Jack Craft officiating. Burial will be in Ortonville cemetery. Visitation will be from 7- 9PM Thursday and 2-5 and 7-9PM Friday. Mrs. Brandt was born in Rochester on August 18, 1906, the daughter of Delbert and Elizabeth (Alverson) Webster. She was a member of the Holly Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star Chapter #286 of Ortonville. Surviving are: her son, Eugene (Nancy) Brandt of Grand Blanc; 6 grandchildren, Eugenia Tyler of Flint, Kent Brandt of Flint, Brian Brandt of Linden, Donald Brandt of Clarkston, Jody Schult of Waterford, and Steven Brandt of Grand Rapids; 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Brandt on March 27, 1967. The family suggests memorials be made to the Holly Presbyterian Church.

MULLALLY, Mary Julia -
Age 93, of Mt. Morris, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 1999 at her home. Funeral Service will take place at 11AM Friday, February 5, 1999 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Paul Ruge O.F.M. will officiate with burial in Calvary cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home 6- 9PM Wednesday, 9-9 Thursday and at the church on Friday from 10AM until time of Holy Mass at 11AM. Parish and family will gather at the funeral home at 7PM Thursday to pray the Rosary. Mary was born May 12, 1905. She was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Elizabeth (Wolohan) Vermette, both long time residents of Mt. Morris where Joseph was a blacksmith and Elizabeth was a teacher. Mary lost her father to pneumonia at the age of two. She went to Mt. Morris schools until her senior year when she traveled to St. Michael's in Flint. Mary attended the county Normal College in Flint and Ypsilanti to get her teaching certificate. On August 22, 1928, Mary married John P. Mullally at St. Mary's. Mary taught school until the first child of ten arrived. After moving to the farm in 1941 from 580 Walker St., she was a secretary in the insurance business until John's retirement. Mary was nurtured in her final years by her two daughters, Sister Ellen and Sister Angnes Mullally, both of the Order of St. Joseph Sisters. They were aided in this task by Sister Marcella Deneau and Sister Ann Catherine Steffes. Mary was very active in church affairs at St. Mary's for many years. She belonged to several guilds, the Legion of Mary, the Charismatic Prayer Group, and the Altar Society. She was a tireless worker and was a source of cordiality and support to all. She considered everyone as part of her extended family. She made herself dearly loved for her charitable work and kindly ways. She was always a great friend to her neighbors in times of distress and the memory of her kind deeds will live long with many people. Socially, Mary was of a genial disposition, and made friends of all. Surviving are: daughters, Mary and husband Richard Poletti, Alice and husband John Manning, Sister Ellen Mullally S.S.J, and sister Agnes Mullally S.S.J.; sons, Michael and wife Mary Ellen, Joseph and wife Sharon, and Thomas and wife Carol. There are 24 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John, and 3 children: Kathleen, James and John.
MURPHY, William A. (Bill) Of Davison,
age 66, died Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 6, 1999 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Rev. Father Andrew Czajkowski officiating. Burial with a military graveside service will be conducted by the American Legion Post #267 at Davison cemetery. Mr. Murphy will lie in state at the funeral home where the family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-9 PM on Friday. A memorial service will be conducted by the American Legion Post #267 on Friday at 6:30 PM. Memorial contribution may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mr. Murphy was born in Grand Rapids, MI on November 3, 1932, the son of Austin and Estelle Murphy. Bill married Sharon Tenny on May 14, 1960 in Davison. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, American Legion Post #267, and Davison Eagles F.O.E. #3589. Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1953. He retired from Consumers Power on July 1, 1990 after 39 years of service. He is survived by: his beloved wife, Sharon, daughters, Marcia Nance of Dayton, FL, Karen Owen and husband Matthew, Susan Fitzpatrick; grandchildren, Anastasha, Annie, Cody, Dalton; great-granddaughter, Trinity; brothers, Thomas E. Murphy, Charles J. Murphy and wife June; sister, Patricia Diskin; mother-in- law, Audrey Tenny; brothers-in- law; sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Lou, brother, Michael.

- Age 84, died January 30, 1999 at Kith Haven Nursing Home. Visitation will be today from 1-3PM, with the Memorial Service starting at 3PM, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Rev. Kenneth Sharp officiating, with prayer by Gene Graham. Interment immediately following at Crestwood Memorial cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the Hospice of one's choice are encouraged.
BROWNLEY, Rosa (Viola)
- Of Mt. Morris, formerly of Flint, age 80, died Thursday, February 11, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 3PM Sunday, February 14, 1999 at Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Road, Rev. Grant H. Wessel officiating. Private entombment will be made at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 9AM-9PM on Saturday and on Sunday from 9AM until time of services. The family will be at the funeral home from 1PM-3PM and 6PM-9PM Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Parkinson Foundation. Mrs. Brownley was retired from AC Spark Plug where she was employed for 32 years. Surviving are: daughter, Melba Waldorf and husband Tom; grandchildren, Lorna Helmer and husband Bob, Roy Little and wife Nola, Darla Marshall and husband Chuck, Daryl Little, Gregory Waldorf and wife Donna; 13 great- grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Smith; companion, Claude Feeling and other relatives.
BURDT, Bonnie
- Of Mt. Morris, age 67, died January 28, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Mrs. Burdt was born May 4, 1931 in Cullman, AL; the daughter of Stanley and Mary Campbell one of eleven children. She was past resident of Kewadin, MI. Bonnie retired from General Motors, Turnstead after 30 years of service. Surviving Mrs. Burdt are: her daughter, Mary Keimer of Mt. Morris; granddaughter, Nicole Grenihr of Mt. Morris; grandson, Michael Grenihr of Columbus, OH; brothers, Charles Campbell, Troy Campbell, George Campbell; sister, Patricia Gothard; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burdt was preceded in death by her husband William E. Burdt. A Memorial Service will be held 2PM Monday, March 8, 1999 at United Brethren in Christ, 2232 E. Mt. Morris Rd., Mt. Morris, MI. Pastor Roger Burke officiating.
