Brower, Herman F., Dunedin, FL.
(Formerly of Ypsilanti, MI)Age 93, passed away Monday, May 3, 1999 in Dunedin, Florida. He was born on August 12, 1905 in Mason, Michigan the son of Joseph and Effie Mae (frazel) Brower. On April 27, 1929, he was married to Noreer Barton, who preceded him in death September 25, 1993. Herman was a pharmacist at Webers Drug Store in Depot Town, for 17 years. He retired in 1972 from the US Postal Service after 29 years of service. He was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Ypsilanti. Herman was a former member of the Ypsilanti Kiwanis Club. Surviving are his children, Ray (Joan) Brower and Patrick (Karen) Brower, of Ypsilanti and Judy (James) Sietz of Petoskey; a sister, Betty Bussy of Lansing; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Thursday, May 6, 1999 at NIE FUNERAL HOME, 2400 Carpenter Rd, Rev. Fr. Edmond Ertzbischoff, officiating. Tyler, Jerry, Saline, MI
Age 43, died suddenly Sunday, May 2, 1999 from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. He was born February 27, 1955 in Mount Clemens, MI, the son of Jack T. and Doris E. (Hurley) Tyler. Jerry was employed by Ford Motor Co., Saline plant as a Quality Control Inspector. He will always be remembered for his love of sailing and scuba diving. Survivors include one sister, Jackie (Rob) Brashear of Britton, MI; two brothers, John J. (Janice) Tyler of DesPlaines, IL, Jim (Fiancee Paula) Tyler of Ypsilanti; one niece, Jennie (Lou) Baus; two nephews, Ronnie and Jeffrey Brashear; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be Friday, May 7, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the JANOWIAK FUNERAL HOME, GEER-LOGAN CHAPEL with Rev. David G. Mulder of St. Matthews United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti officiating. Burial will follow in Udell cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-9 p.m.
Baldus, William Otto, Dexter, MI
Loved and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away May 4, 1999 at the University of Michigan Hospital. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 46 years, Barbara; his children, Dan (Nancy) of Whitmore Lake, Karen (Dave) Stoneman of Breckenridge, Rick (Nancy) of Hartland; nine grandchildren, Scott, Craig, and Amy Baldus, Cole, Bart, and Dirk Stoneman, Nick, Emma and Jacqueline Baldus; brother, David Baldus; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, Edward and Donna, and brother, Donald, preceded him in death. William was born in Ann Arbor on March 6, 1932, moved to the Dexter area in 1949, and graduated from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School in 1950. In 1952, he graduated from Michigan State University Agriculture Shortcourse; on September 20, of that same year he married Barbara I. Knope. Shortly thereafter Bill entered the United States Army and served in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. After returning to Dexter, Bill was a carpenter for Local 512 for over 30 years, worked as a hog farmer. He was a 4-H leader for the Blue Ribbon Livestock Club for over 30 years, member of Webster Providers and Michigan Farm Bureau and member of Tri-County Sportsmen League. Bill loved people, especially his grandchildren, he loved to dance, loved raising 4-H pigs, border collie dogs, driving his truck, woodworking, and the ability to create and build. Bill was a longtime member of St. Andrews United Church of Christ where services will be held on Friday, May 7, 1999 at 11 A.M. Visitation will be held at HOSMER-MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL on Wednesday and Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and one hour before the service on Friday at the church. Interment St. Andrew cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Andrew Church of Christ or The American Cancer Society.

Age 47, died May 2, 1999 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born April 13, 1952, in Dearborn, MI to John Joseph Sr. and Marion (Knight) Murray. Survivors include his mother, Marion of Saline; two brothers, Philip (Marilyn) of Traverse City and Kevin (Ramona) of Northville; a sister, Rebecca (Moses) Trout of Milan; one uncle, William Knight; and his nieces and nephews Amos, Jason, Gabrielle, Olivia, Renee and Nicholas. Visitation will be held at Ochalek Stark Funeral Home , Milan on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gordon Moore officiating. Hale, Mildred M., Ann Arbor, MI
Age 94, did Friday, April 30, 1999 at the Hillside Terrace Nursing Center. She was born August 6, 1904 in Lowell, MA the daughter of Thomas Rourke and Mary (Rock) Rourke. Millie had one sister, Mary Means of Paris, IL who preceded her in death in 1995. In the 1940s she married Kenneth Hale who owned a dry cleaning business. He passed after a long illness with Millie as his loving companion and nurse. At that time she became a House Mother to the Nurses of Sisters of Mercy at the St. Joseph Hospital Nursing Residence. She was loved by many and was truly a mother to all. She will be sorely missed by friends and staff at Hillside where she was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by her guardian Barbara Dempsey. A Service will be held Friday, May 7, 1999 at 4 p.m. at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL with Fr. Dwight Ezop officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Franklin, John E., Ypsilanti Township, MI
Age 64, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 1999 at his home. He was born December 13, 1934 in Hall, KY, the son of Carl and Naomi (Waddles) Franklin. On August 22, 1958, he married Emiko Kawanashi in Kyoto, Japan and she survives. Mr. Franklin served in the U.S. Air Force. He had retired from General Motors after 34 years of service. In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Teresa (John) Hays of Beulah, MI and Debbie (Michael) Gilmer of VA; three grandchildren, Jennifer Hays and Rachel and Justin Gilmer; two brothers; four sisters and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger Dean Osborne. The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 7, 1999 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gordon Moore of Milan Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice. (Formerly of Ann Arbor, MI)Age 75, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 1999. Richard was born on June 3, 1923 in Ann Arbor the son of Charles and Margaret (Westfall) Sibert. He graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1943, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from the Ann Arbor Post Office. He is survived by his two daughters, Michele Dupuis of Tennessee and Jill Grossman of North Dakota; grandchildren, Tawnee Roberts of New Hampshire, Todd Tyler in the U.S. Army, Lisa Hall of Arizona, Shawna McCleary, Robin Elias, Tiffany McCleary; five great-grandchildren, Corey and Ryan Roberts of New Hampshire, Charles McCleary and Curtis Elias of New Hampshire and Alex Hall of Arizona; one sister, Barbara (Herrin) Spradlin of Dexter; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles and Margaret (Westfall) and one brother, Charles, Jr. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 8, 1999 at 1 p.m. at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL with Rev. Alfred T. Bamsey officiating.Interment will follow at Bethlehem cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Mary Suber Reeder, known to her family and friends as Chick, departed this life Friday, April 30, 1999 at Whitehall Convalescent Center following an extended illness. She was born March 8, 1898 in Columbia, SC to the late Dryton and Nancy (Green) Suber. The Kaiser family of Ann Arbor employed Mary until her retirement. She was also an avid seamstress. Having accepted Christ at an early age, Mary was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. Mary is survived by her nephews, Walter G. (Irene) Sellers of Wilberforce, OH, Walter G. Sellers III of Kalamazoo, MI, Ronald L. Sellers, Warren L. Lundell, David Leslie,
A very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who was loved very much, passed away on May 5, 1999. He passed away at home with his family by his side after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born on February 17, 1935 in Iron Mountain, Michigan to Myrtle and Leslie Lundell. He was preceded in death by his father in 1974. He leaves behind one brother, Larry (Rose) Lundell of Iron Mountain; and a special sister-in-law, Bonnie Pavlat of Belleville. His memory will be cherished by many; his wife of 45 years, Beverly Lundell, whom is the strongest woman he ever knew; his children, Debra (Tim) Blankenship of Utica, David (Sheryl) Lundell of Ypsilanti, Diane (Steve) Coffey of Ypsilanti, Doni (Tammy) Lundell of Willis, and Denise (Robert) Anderson of Ypsilanti. He also leaves behind his most precious treasures of his life, his grandchildren, who knew him as Bumpy; Billy (Danielle) Gross, Brent Hayes/Blankenship, Bethany and Beverly Blankenship, Joey Smith/Lundell, David, Samantha and Zachary Lundell, Chris McGough/Coffey, Jessica, Doni (D.J) and Dustin Lundell, and Mariah Lundell/Anderson; he leaves behind one great-grandson, Brendan Gross. He was a carpenter for local 512 for over 30 years. He enjoyed his cottage, where he spent much of his time. Fishing was his #1 hobby. We all called him the Greatest Fisherman ever. He has touched the heart of many people and will be missed very, very much. Services will be held at DAVID C BROWN FUNERAL HOME in Belleville.
