GUMTOW, MRS. ALICE, passed away August 22, 1999. Mrs. Gumtow was born in Trenton, MI the daughter of Louis and Clara (Ash) Herrmann. She attended Carleton High School and the Cleary Business School in Ypsilanti, MI. She was head bookkeeper for many years at the People's Bank in Trenton, MI. Long time member and very active at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Boston, MI. Alice is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Clare & Lloyd Goings of Plainwell, MI with whom she made her home for the past 12 years and a son and daughter-in-law Harold & Betty Gumtow of Addison, MI. Also nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A sister-Bernice Rinne of Monroe, MI and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held from noon till 1 p. m. PAMERLEAU, ARTHUR C. 80, of Foothill Acres Nursing Home of Neshanic, New Jersey, died Wednesday at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, New Jersey. Born in Lansing, MI, Mr. Pamerleau lived most of his life in Royal Oak and Southfield, MI, and Springfield, Massachusetts. He lived in Bordentown, NJ since 1985 and recently moved to Neshanic, NJ. He was self-employed as a Manufacturers Representative to the automotive industry. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and was previously associated with the Toastmasters Club. In October, 1998 in Atlantic City he was honored at a luncheon and received the 1998 Better Life Award in recognition of unselfish and dedicated efforts in behalf of fellow patients by the New Jersey Association of Health Care Facilities. He is the husband of the late Irene Caron Pamerleau, son of the late Donia and Leda Cote Pamerleau and brother of the late George P. Pamerleau. He is survived by Christine and Robert Mitchell of Racine, WS, Laura and Dale Johnson of Highland, MI and Donald and Candice Pamerleau of Annandale, NJ, eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
