June Osborne

June Osborne, 76, of Etowah, N.C., died Thursday, January 15 at Park Ridge Hospital in Fletcher, N.C., after a brief illness.
Prior to moving to Etowah six years ago, she lived in Seattle, Wash., and then for 35 years in Wiscasset. Before retiring, she was a legal secretary for Alan Pease.
She was heavily involved in volunteer work for many organizations, especially A.I.M. She was a member of Etowah Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Osborne loved flowers and gardening and was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Franklin "Ozzie" Osborne of Etowah, N.C.; one son, James Osborne of Westport Island; one daughter, Linda Adams and her husband, Robert, of Orange Park, Fla.; grandchildren, Dean and Lisa Chubbuck, Martin Osborne, Debi Topolski, and Christopher Osborne; and great-grandchildren, Kristin Kimpel and Julian Osborne.
A memorial service was held Monday, January 19 at the Etowah Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Tom Gainer officiating. The family received friends following the service at Riverwind Club House on Etowah Schoolhouse Road.

Michael H. Orne

Michael H. Orne, 42, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 21 in Boothbay.
Born February 12, 1962 in South Norwalk, Conn., he was the son of David and Carol Blake Orne. He grew up in the Boothbay Region until his junior year in high school. He graduated from Yarmouth High School in the class of 1981.
Mr. Orne was a ground fisherman and carpenter. He was an amateur stock car racer, and loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family and many friends. He also loved to play golf. He had a great sense of humor and will be sadly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Chapman Orne of Boothbay; two sons, Brandon Michael Markowski of Boothbay Harbor and Bruce Michael Orne of Boothbay; two daughters, Brittney Christina Markowski of Boothbay Harbor and Kaitlin Orne of Boothbay; mother, Carol Orne of Boothbay Harbor, father, David Orne of Yarmouth; two sisters, Lisa A. Orne of Boothbay and Teresa Bryer of West Boothbay Harbor; grandparents, Harvey and Deanie Blake of West Boothbay Harbor; aunt and uncle, Cathy and Gary Blake of Boothbay; aunt, Barbara Blake of Brunswick; aunt and uncle, Donald and Shelly Orne of Boothbay Harbor; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, February 25 at Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home in Boothbay.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Orne's memory to the Boothbay Region YMCA, directly for uniforms for basketball, P.O. Box 500, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.

Franklin C. Osborne

Franklin Clark "Ozzie" Osborne, 85, of Orange Park, Fla., passed away Wednesday June 8.
Born on December 11, 1919 in Bridgeport, Conn.,he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, June Osborne.
Mr. Osborne was a proud 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy andafter his faithful service to his country became anInsurance Adjuster in Wiscasset, where he also did property appraisals. He was alsoa member of the Masons and the VFW.
Some of Mr. Osborne's hobbies included woodworking, trains
, andeating his favorite brownies baked by Linda! But most of all he was a proud and loving husband, father and grandfather who shared hisheart and wisdom with his family.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Adams and her husband Robert of Orange Park, Fla.; one son, James Osborne of Syracuse, N.Y.; one sister, Julia Hunter of Devon, Conn.; grandson, Dean Chubbuck and his wife Lisa of Orange Park, Fla.; his grandchildren, Debi Topolski of Fulton, N.Y., Christopher Osborne of Colorado, and Marty Osborne of Maryland and one great-grandchild, Kristin Kimpel of Fulton, N.Y.

Sadie E. Oxton

Sadie E. Oxton, 83, of Bath, died Thursday, April 7, at a Brunswick hospital.
Born in Boothbay Harbor on April 21, 1921, she was a daughter of Harold D. and Ruby A. Gray Stover. She attended Boothbay Harbor schools and graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School, class of 1939.
On December 12, 1939, she married Alfred E. Oxton in Boothbay Harbor.
Mrs. Oxton worked as a legal secretary in Boothbay Harbor then became a fulltime housewife to raise her family. She later worked as a seamstress for Congress Sportswear in Bath from which she retired.
She enjoyed growing flowers and tending her gardens, oil painting, and spending time at the family cottage in Rangeley. She was an amateur mineralogist.
Mrs. Oxton was a member of the Bath Area Senior Citizens and the Coasters.
She is predeceased by her husband who died in 1990; and a sister, Priscilla McGuiggan, who died in 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Sean Averill-Gray of South Portland and Kenneth A. and his wife Kriss Oxton of Buxton; three grandchildren, Cullen G. Oxton of Falmouth, E. Michael Oxton of South Portland, and Jim Oxton of Buxton; two great-grandchildren, Laura and Logan Oxton of Falmouth; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 15, at David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath. Burial will be private at Evergreen cemetery in Boothbay.

JOY ELIZABETH (HUNTER) COON
Joy Elizabeth (Hunter) Coon, 53, passed away May 21, 2003, at Millinocket Regional Hospital, after a long illness.
She was born in Millinocket on August 3, 1949, the daughter of Lawrence and Pearle (Worcester) Hunter.
Joy was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and a graduate of Schenck High School. She was employed by Great Northern Paper Company for many years, and had the distinction of being the first female papermaker in the nation. She was a member of PACE Locals 12, 24, 37, and 152.

ROMUS J. PASQUINE
Romus J. Pasquine, 87, went to be with the Lord May 20, 2003.
Romus was born in Millinocket on April 2, 1916, the son of Nunzi and Virginia (Dinenna) Pasquine.
Romus was a lifelong resident of Millinocket, graduating from Stearns High School class of 1934. Following graduation, he joined the CCC’s, which was at that time involved in building the state road to Baxter State Park.
He later joined the U.S. Army and fought proudly through four major campaigns during World War II.
After his enlistment, Romus was employed by Great Northern Paper Company for 32 years, retiring in 1979.
He enjoyed hosting family reunions, gardening, and his family vacations at Old Orchard Beach, a 32-year tradition that still continues. Romus had a warm and gentle personality. Anyone having a bad day could talk to him and walk away feeling better.
He was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 680. He was also a member of Francis E. Elliott Post No. 4154 V.F.W.

William Eli Rhodes, Sr., 62, husband of Madelene (Mullen) Rhodes, went home to be with the Lord May 21, 2003, after a long illness, surrounded by his family.
William was born in Island Falls on July 27, 1940, the son of William L. Rhodes and Belle E. (Lord) Page.
Billy was a devoted family man, who loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed driving, yard sales,
hunting
and fishing. He collected clocks, coins, and guns.
