HARRY WILSON FANJOY
DEXTER - Harry Wilson Fanjoy, 72, died Oct. 14, 2000, at his Pine Street residence. He was born Nov. 19, 1927, at Dexter, the son of William and Nora (Blethen) Fanjoy. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Fayscott in Dexter after nearly 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria (Ronco) Fanjoy of Dexter; two sons, Larry of Cambridge and Stephen of Dexter; three daughters, Cathy Mack of Pennsylvania, Stephanie Bates and Heidi Sawyer, both of Dexter; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, William; and two half brothers, Reginald Call and Murray Fanjoy.
A graveside committal service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with Pastor A. Maurice Neal officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
BONETA A. BAILEY
PARKMAN, Boneta A. Bailey, 65, died October 19, 2000 at a Greenville hospital. She was born February 20, 1935 in Cambridge, daughter of Wellington and Livonia (Bickford) Morrill. She was a member of the Parkman Baptist Church, the Parkman Ladies Circle and the Parkman Grange. For many years she cared for children in her home and will especially be remembered by Rosie Campbell.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Q. Bailey of Parkman; her mother of Greenville; a daughter and her husband, Cathy and David Elderkin of Parkman; a sister, Charlene Casey of Greenville; a brother and his wife Henry and Lucy Morrill of Dexter; three grandchildren, Seth and his wife Tricia, Elderkin of Parkman, Stacey Elderkin of Guilford and Shanna Elderkin of Abbot; a great grandson Bailey Elderkin of Parkman; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son Arthur Bailey Jr. and her father. Friends may call Sat 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Davis and Pastor Lindy Holt officiating. Burial will be in the Mt.Pleasant cemetery in Cambridge. ROBERT R. HUBBELL
DEXTER, Robert R. Hubbell, 62, died Nov. 5, 2000 at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 15, 1938, son of Herbert and Katherine (Mahon) Hubbell. He farmed and worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years in Connecticut. In 1979 he moved to Dexter where he worked for Dexter Shoe Co. He enjoyed
hunting and fishing and for several years coached youth hockey.
He is survived by his mother of Connecticut; his wife, Carol (French) Hubbell of Dexter; 3 sons and their wives, William and Sandy Hubbell of Ohio, Richard and Carol Hubbell of Washington, John and Samantha Hubbell of Dexter; a daughter and her husband, Karen and David Walton of Conn.; brother and his wife, Herbert and Carol Hubbell Conn.; a sister and her husband, Georgianna and Robert Sorensen of Conn.; 12 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

ROWENA (ASHE) FIELD
DETROIT – Rowena (Ashe) Field, 88, died November 7, 2000 at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 20, 1912 at Greenbush the daughter of J. Vinal and Kate (Brown) Ashe. She graduated from the Brunswick School of Nursing, Class of 1932, and Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. She served the community in area hospitals for many Years and had owned and operated Sanfield Nursing Home in Hartland for a number of Years. She retired in 1984. She was a member of the R.N. Club in Pittsfield, and a lifelong member of the Good Cheer Club in Detroit.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert M. Field, a stepson, Clair W. Field, special nephews, Andrew R. Sanborn and Roger H. Speer. Known as “Polly” to her many friends and family Members, she is survived by 2 sons, Drew H. Field of Dallas, TX, and Mark A. Field of Lake Worth, FL; special family members, niece Mrs. Edward (Marie) Towne of Newport, grand nephew, Terry, and wife Raelene Towne of Fort Hugart, AL, nephew Robert V. Ashe and niece Katherine D. Ashe of Skowhegan, nephew Norris and His wife Katherine Ashe, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, cousin Ruth (Brown) Hewett of Windsor, VT, nephew Douglas I. Fernald of Detroit, sisters in law, Doris (Norris) Ashe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Anna (George) FieldFernald of Detroit, and Mildred (Dan) Field of Augusta, as well as many caring neighbors and friends.

ARLENE R. TRACY
NEWPORT – Arlene R. Tracy, 79, died unexpectedly November 7, 2000 at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 18, 1921 at Avondale, N.B., Canada, the daughter of Norville and Sarah (Bell) Briggs. She attended schools in Canada, Littleton, and the Ricker Classical Institute. She was a member of Nokomis Chapter # 42 OES of Newport.
She was predeceased by her husband Merle I. Tracy, in 1979, and four brothers Wilfred, Frederick, Ronald and Forrest Briggs. She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Elayne Briggs; four sons, Michael, Theron, Owen, and James; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
At her request, no funeral services will be held. A graveside ceremony for family will be held 1 P.M. Friday at the Littleton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pine Tree Camp for Crippled Children, c/o Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, ME 04953.
SALLY L. JAMES
WILLIMANTIC, Sally L. James, 79, formerly of Dighton, Mass. died Nov. 8, 2000, at a Dover-Foxcroft Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 11, 1921 in E. Providence, Rhode Island, daughter of William and Julia (McCloskey) Gray. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Providence. She worked as a registered nurse at Union Hospital in Fall River, Mass. and at Hattie Ide Chaffee Nursing Home in E. Providence. Later she volunteered at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft and served on the Willimantic Board of Health.
She is survived and loved by her husband of 57 years, Gordon E. James of Willimantic and five children, Judith Buswick of Chelmsford, Mass., Susan Tufts of Woodbridge, Virginia, Russell James of Dighton, Mass., Edwin James of Raleigh, North Carolina, Julia St. Yves of Lakeville, Mass.; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandaughters and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 PM Friday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Lloyd Rozelle officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside cemetery in Willimantic. HELEN M. DOSTIE
BANGOR – Helen M. Dostie, 84, died unexpectedly November 8, 2000 at Emilio Estates Boarding Home in Corinth. She was born February 16, 1916 at Dexter the daughter of Harry and Gladys Skillings. Helen was a communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church in Bangor and was a member of both the American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliary. She had been a caregiver for the elderly in area homes for over 30 years. She enjoyed travel, her flower gardens and giving to others. She will also be remembered by her children as a loving mom.
She was predeceased by a daughter Justine Millett who died in 1979. She is survived by a son and his wife, Kenneth and Gail Dostie of Corinna; 2 daughters, Sandra Irvin and her friend Howard Davis of Dexter, Stephanie and husband John Dakin of Gray; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Friday, November 10th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, Exeter Road, Corinna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. Saturday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter with the Rev. Fr. Raymond Morency officiating. Burial will be in the family lot, Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna. ISAAC J. HERRING
SANGERVILLE - Isaac J. Herring, 19, died November 9, 2000 at his home in Sangerville. He was born December 15, 1980 in Dover-Foxcroft, son of James Herring and Carmelita (Smart) Gray. He graduated from P.C.H.S. class of 1999. For the last three years he has worked with his grandfather in the glass business.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Mark and Carmie Gray of Sangerville, his father, James Herring of Bangor; a sister, Nikki Gray of Sangerville; maternal grandfather, Ted Smart of Plymouth; step grandfather, Stanley Gray of Corinna; step grandmother, Jeanne Finley of California; maternal great grandmother, Flora Smart of Cambridge; step great grandparents, John and Marion Ervin of Arizona.
Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2000 at the Dover cemetery in Dover-Foxcroft with Rev. Kevin Smart officiating. Those who wish may make donations to the Charity of your choice. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.
BELMONT M. KNIGHT
PLYMOUTH – Belmont M. Knight, 78, died November 10, 2000 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born January 29, 1922 at Benton the son of Chester and Doris (Craig) Knight. He graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1939, and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. On November 12, 1941 he married Geraldine E. Vigue. For 22 years, Belmont managed creameries for United Farmers of New England in Albion and Detroit. He later co-owned with his cousin 4 Quik-Shop convenience stores. He will be remembered for his tireless work on behalf of the Boy Scouts of America for over 35 years. He was a member of the Masonic Order and the Barrows-Skidgel Post # 105 American Legion in Newport, where he served as finance officer for many years. He was very active in Plymouth town affairs, including the positions of 1st and 2nd selectman, town cemetery sexton, plumbing inspector, code enforcement officer, and was actively involved in updating the Plymouth Fire Department. He was proud to have Plymouth’s newest fire engine named in his honor. He will be remembered as an avid
hunter, camper, canoeist, and fisherman.
In addition to his wife of Plymouth, he is survived by 2 sons, Richard of Farmington and Todd of Tampa, Florida; 2 daughters, Joyce Dudley of Newport, and Janice Bubar of Durham, NC; 1 brother Sheldon Knight of Albion; 5 sisters, Frances Howard of Lakeland, FL, Daphyne Creel of Kent, WA, Helen MacNeill of Chelmsford, MA, Beatrice Sproul of Augusta, and Sandra Kennedy of E. Mansfield, MA; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.

MAJOR DONALD W. CURTIS, (RET) USAR
PALMYRA - Major Donald W. Curtis, 75, (ret) USAR, died November 13, 2000 at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 2, 1925 at Bristol, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of George and Ella (Elkins) Curtis. He was a graduate of Aroostook Central Institute, attended aircraft school at Quoddy Head and was a graduate of Officer Candidate School. A Veteran of World War II, Don also served in the European theater as part of the Army of Occupation. He served 20 years of active duty overseas in Germany, Newfoundland, and Iran, and later stateside, retiring from the Bangor Army Reserve Center in 1963. After retiring from the military he worked as a quality control inspector for Edwards Corporation in Pittsfield, and later, as a self-employed upholsterer at Old Tavern Upholstery. His interests included gardening, photography, the outdoors, carpentry, reading, traveling, and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ida Joyce (Green) Curtis of Palmyra; his children, Carl G. and wife Sheila (Howland) Curtis of Hudson, NH, and their children Bryan, Russell, and Carla Curtis; Patricia L. and husband Gary Jordan of Richmond, and their children, Heather and Chris Jordan; Gary W. Curtis and his companion Susan McMillan of Newport, Gary’s son Christopher Curtis, and Chris’s daughter; Richard L. and wife Celeste (Violette) Curtis, and children Terra, Garrett and Avery Curtis; Donna and husband Dale Holden of Madison, and their children, Nathan Cardozo, Cassidy and Haley Holden; siblings Audrey Knowles of Bucksport, Albert and Janice Curtis of Waldo, George Curtis and Robert Curtis of New Haven, CT; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Ina Curtis.
Family visitation will be private. Graveside services with full military honors will be held 2 PM Wednesday, November 15th, at Palmyra Village Cemetery, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. ARTHUR D. HARTFORD
DEXTER, Arthur D. Hartford, 66, died Nov. 14, 2000 at the Dexter Health Care Facility, where he has resided for the past 8 years. He was born Apr. 18, 1934, youngest son of Chester L. and Georgieanna (LaBree) Hartford. He served in the US Navy for five years aboard the USS D.J. Buckley.
He is survived by three brothers and their wives, Chester and Joan Hartford of Garland, Arnold and Constance Hartford of Corinna, and Ronald and Doris Hartford of Sangerville; a sister, Geneva Pisano of Brookfield, CT; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother, and brothers, Lewis, Leo and Roger and brother-in-law Vincent Pisano.
Private calling hours for the family will be held at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter, with Fr. Raymond Morancy officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dexter Health Care Recreation Dept., 64 Park St., Dexter, ME 04930.
DORIS D. POTTER
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Doris D. Potter, 89, wife of the late David K. Potter, died Nov. 23, 2000, at Mayo Regional Hospital. She was born June 4, 1911, in Moscow, the daughter of Walter and Evie (Ellis) Dunton. She was a resident of Dover-Foxcroft for many years and had previously lived in Milo and Greenville. She was a member for many years of the Telephone Pioneers and the Old Mayo Group.
She was predeceased by her husband, David K. Potter; her daughter, June P. Lovejoy; and her granddaughter, Paula L. Gardner. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Marsh of Bangor and Dover-Foxcroft; her brother, Stacy Dunton of St. Johnsville, N.Y.; the remainder of her brothers and sisters having predeceased her also. She is survived also by eight grandchildren, John Marsh Jr. of Prineville, Ore., Laurie Burford of Bend, Ore., Roger Marsh of Bend, Ore., David Lovejoy of Sharon, Mass., Roxanne Salvucci of West Palm Beach, Fla., Dennis Lovejoy of So. Weymouth, Mass., Patty Tompkins of Stoughton, Mass., and Steven Lovejoy of Dover-Foxcroft; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including Kathy Bell of Texas and Ted Dunton of Connecticut.
At her request there will be no funeral service, but there will be a graveside service at Greenville cemetery in the spring. ROBERT A. STORER
CORINNA & St. ALBANS- Robert A. Storer, 73, went home to be with the Lord, on November 24, 2000. He was born in Yarmouth December 5, 1926, the son of Ernest and Arlene Storer. A veteran of World War II, he served 4 years in the United States Navy and 26 years in the United States Postal Service, working both in Florida and New Hampshire. He also worked in home construction in Florida, New Hampshire, And Maine. He loved sports,
hunting, snowmobiling, sailing, boating, and was still waterskiing at age 71. Bob had a great zest for life, with a wonderful sense of humor and the ability to add sunshine to each life he touched. He was an avid member of the First Baptist Church in Hartland.
He leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Faye H. Storer, and 2 step-children, Dennis Bailey of West Sumner, and Karen Barnhart of Ticonderoga, NY. He was formerly married to Eleanor (Kezer) Storer, until her homegoing on October 30, 1978. He leaves behind 5 children from their marriage, John of Nashville, TN, Douglas of Hampton Beach, NH, Kathi Connolly of Gorham, Karin Bushaw of Standish, and Philip of Melbourne, FL. He also leaves a brother, Carlton Storer of Yarmouth; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

ROSE D. HICHBORN
SEBEC - Rose D. Hichborn, 85, wife of the late Ivan E. Hichborn, died Nov. 27, 2000, at a Dexter health care facility. She was born Oct. 4, 1915, in Winterville, the daughter of William and Julia (Gagnon) Nicknair. Rose was a member of the Sebec Grange and St. Paul's Catholic Church in Milo.
She is survived by a son, Clyde Hughes of Sebec; a daughter, Joyce Burton of Sebec; two brothers, Ivan Nicknair of So. Windsor, Conn. and Father Harold Nicknair of Portland; four sisters, Blanche Guimont of So. Portland, Violet Nichols of Connecticut, Bernadette Clavette of So. Portland, Lilly McKeeman of Hanover, Mass.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Nicknair.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Fr. James Robichaud and Fr. Harold Nicknair, celebrants. Burial will be in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery, Milo.
ADELAIDE M. RONCO
DEXTER - Adelaide M. Ronco, 86, died unexpectedly Dec. 3, 2000, at her Fairway Knolls residence. She was born Nov. 6, 1914, at Dexter, the daughter of Harry and Rose (LaFountain) Clukey. She graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Class of 1932. She was employed for 10 years at the United Stores, prior to her marriage to Arthur T. Ronco in 1938. She worked as a clerk at Ben Franklin store in Dexter for 23 years, until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter and a former member of St. Anne's Sodality, Daughters of Isabella, and the Dexter Firemen's Auxiliary. She was a member of the Dexter Golden Age Club and enjoyed socializing with her friends at Meals for ME.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur in 1998. She is survived by four children, Thomas and his wife, Helena Ronco, Teresa and her husband, David Denbow, Barbara and her husband, Wilfred Murray, all of Dexter, John and his wife, Patricia Ronco of Pennsville, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Chris and Debbie Ronco of New York, Sandra Ronco of Augusta, Suzanne and her husband, Michael Orcutt of Balston Spa, N.Y., William Murray of Dexter, Jennifer Murray of Corinth, Mary Denbow of Bangor and Emily Denbow of Colchester, Vt.; two great-grandsons, Joshua and Matthew Orcutt of Balston Spa, N.Y.
