M. ADELINE MERRILL
DEXTER - M. Adeline Merrill, 85, wife of the late Clyde G. Merrill, Sr. died January 22, 2000 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born April 27, 1914 at Presque Isle the daughter of Alexander and Emilia (Tremblay) LaBree. Adeline was a devoted mother, wife and homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter and had previously been an active member of the North Dexter Grange. She had been employed at Dexter Shoe Company for many years. Adeline enjoyed teaching ceramics at her home for over 20 years. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at Lake Wassookeag, where she had resided for 30 years. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by 5 brothers and 1 sister. Her sister Georgianna Hartford died January 22, 2000 also.
She is survived by 5 children, Sheri Mulligan of Malden, MA, Clyde Merrill, Jr. and Janice of Corinna, Cynthia Merrill of Southington, CT, Charles "Chip" Merrill and his wife, Diane of Dexter, and Jane Gauthier and her husband, Douglas of Garland; 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a close friend Perley Parent.
Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Monday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial for Adeline and Georgianna will be celebrated 10 A.M. Tuesday at St. Annes Church, Dexter, with Rev. George Beaudet officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a reception at the Brewster Inn following the funeral mass. Spring burial will be in the family lot, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
OWEN R. TUTTLE
DEXTER, Owen R. Tuttle, 75, died Jan. 14, 2000 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. He was born Sept. 9, 1924 in Corinna , son of Ralph and Ona (Weymouth) Tuttle. He graduated from Corinna Union Academy. He owned and operated a dairy farm and later owned and operated Tuttle Saw Sales in Dexter. He was very active in the Exeter Full Gospel Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Parker) Tuttle of Dexter; a son and his wife, Dean and Mary Tuttle of Dexter; a daughter and her husband, Lana and Brian Annis of Harmony; a sister and her husband, Vandelia and Robert Rowe of Oakland; 3 grandchildren, Michael and his wife Laura Tuttle of Dexter, Marilyn and her husband Scott Jakins of Newport, and Joshua McPherson of Harmony; 2 great grandchildren, Luke Tuttle of Dexter and Tyler Jakins of Newport; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Faloon and Rev. ESTHER M. HARMON
DEXTER, Esther M. Harmon, 77, died Jan. 12, 2000 at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 29, 1922 in Garland, daughter of Ralph and Eva (Page) Orcutt. Her mother died when she was a child and she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Herbert and Anna Page. She devoted her life to raising her children and later to caring for her husband, Hovey Harmon who predeceased her in 1982.
She is survived by a son and his wife; Tom and Monika Harmon of Cumberland; a daughter and her husband, Cindy and Tom Edwards of Dexter; two sisters; June Thompson of Newport and Madeline Marra of New Mexico; two grandchildren; Bradley Harrington and Amy Cochran and two great grandchildren, Christopher and Kelsey all of Indiana; a step brother Norman E. Page of Dexter; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Sharon Harrington in 1989.

CARLETON P. HENDERSON
CARMEL & NEWBURGH – Carlton P. Henderson, 81, died January 9, 2000 at an Augusta hospital. He was born July 13, 1918 at Levant the son of George and Nellie (Braley) Henderson. Carlton served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a self-employed woodsman for many years and was an avid
hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his children, Eleanor Smedburg and Lloyd Henderson, Both of Bangor, Glen Henderson of Newburgh, Betty Porter of Lakeville, Christina Thomas of Corinth, Rosalie Henderson of Caribou, Rodney Henderson of Portland, Oregon, and Paul Henderson of Chelsea; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Friday, January 14th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, with Rev. Gary Harvey officiating. CLAUDINE "TODDI" RICHARD
EXETER—Claudine M. "Toddi" Richard peacefully passed on to eternal rest at her residence surrounded by loving family on January 9, 2000 after a short but courageous fight against cancer. She was born November 25, 1930 at Exeter, the fourth child of the late Orrin and Alice (Avery) Eaton. Toddi was raised in Exeter and in her early adult years lived in Corinna and was employed by Eastland Woolen Mill. She also worked as a stitcher at Dexter Shoe Co. and was a resident of Dexter for many years. After her husband's retirement, Joe and Toddi built a home in Florida and resided there until his sudden death in 1987. Toddi returned to Exeter to be closer to her family. Claudine was a meticulous homemaker and a hard worker. She loved working out of doors and she particularly loved her flowers and gardening. Toddi was always busy "puttering" inside and outside to beautify her home.
She will be remembered and greatly missed by her children, Paula Bishop and husband, Stephen of Orono, Donald Rankin of Corinna and Dianne Braun and husband, William of Brewer; 6 grandchildren, Kyle and Kurt Bishop of Orono, Joshua and Jeremy Rankin of Lincoln, Craig Dyer of Exeter and Corey Fergerson of Brewer; 1 great granddaughter, Kaylah Dyer of Exeter; one sister, Marilyn Fitzherbert of S. Paris; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Maynard and Shirley Eaton, Millard and Carline Eaton and Paul and Liz Eaton all of Exeter; several nieces and nephews including one very special niece, Patricia Trask of Kenduskeag as well as a special friend, James Pearson of Corinna. Toddi was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Lionel Richard in 1987, a brother, Karl Eaton in 1990 and a sister, Dorothy Reed in 1993.
There will be no visiting hours. A graveside memorial service will be announced at a later date in the spring. FRANCES A. JACKSON
NEWPORT – Frances A. Jackson, 66, died January 7, 2000 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born January 25, 1933 at Garland the daughter of George and Albina (McDonald) Godsoe. Frances was a well known waitress in the Newport area for many years, having Worked at the Yankee, Shorettes, Victor's, and The Log Cabin restaurants.
She is survived by 3 sons, Paul and his wife Phyllis Jackson of Dexter, Richard and his wife Brenda Jackson of Newport, and Ronald Jackson of Corinna; a brother and his wife, Donald and June Godsoe of Corinth; a sister and her husband, Freda and Hale Chambers of Dover-Foxcroft; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson. She was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Fields.

EMILY G. FRANK
CORINNA – Emily G. Frank, 87, died January 7, 2000 at a Dexter healthcare facility. She was born December 8, 1912 at Sherman Mills the daughter of Thomas and Alberta (Ham) Irish. She was a member of the Corinna United Methodist Church, and the Happy Hour Club.
Emily is survived by a son and his wife, Russell and Mary Irish Of Buena Vista, Virginia; a daughter and her husband Gerry and Madaline Buzzell of Burlington, Mass.; 1 sister and her husband, Faye and Harry Henderson of Glenwood, Maryland; a daughter-in-law, Marian; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; as well as special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George Frank; a son, Gaylon Irish; a sister Thelma Young, and brothers William and Lloyd Irish.

ETHAN ISAIAH DAVIDSON-GOULD
DOVER – FOXCROFT – Ethan Isaiah Davidson-Gould, died January 7, 2000 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born January 6, 2000 at Maine Medical Center in Portland the son of Sabrina Davidson and Timothy Gould of Dover-Foxcroft.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by grandparents Gerald and Kathi Clark, Jr. of Dover-Foxcroft, grandfathers Robert Davis of Dexter, and Wallace McAlpine of Springfield, great grandparents Faye Davidson and Duane Roberts of Abbot, Gerald and Eleanor Clark, Sr. of Guilford, great grandmother Muriel Micue of Corinna, Great great grandmothers Goldie Carpenter of Greenville, and Jeanette Dexter of Dover-Foxcroft; Aunts Jamie Clark and Taylor Clark both of Dover-Foxcroft, Melanie Bragg of Dexter, and April McAlpine of Bradley; Uncles Cody Clark of Dover-Foxcroft, Auril Tasker of Stetson, and Mark Tasker of Clinton; several other aunts, uncles, great aunts And uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandmother Starr Davis of Garland; great grandfather Frederick Davidson of Abbot; great grandmother Beverly Clark of Guilford; great grandfather Herbert Micue of Corinna, and his Aunt Mindy Gould of Dexter. Even though he was only with us a short time, he touched Many lives and lives forever in our hearts.

JOHN "Jack" MURDOCK, JR
DEXTER – John T. Murdock, Jr., passed away January 6, 2000. He was born April 28, 1925 at Ripley the son of John and Ada (Blethen) Murdock, Sr. He was a graduate of Higgins Classical Institute and attended Clemson State College. He was a pilot in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II holding the rank of Captain. He retired from Fayscott Machine Shop In Dexter and also owned and operated Murdock's Market.
He is survived by his Wife Irene (Williams) Murdock, children Thomas, Sr., and Sally Ann Murdock all of Dexter, and Mary Lou Paul of Portland; a brother Gilbert of Vero Beach, FL; 3 grandchildren, Thomas Murdock, Jr. of MA., Geoffery Murdock of Exeter, and Shawna Paul of Portland.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, in the spring. Donations may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mt. Hope Avenue, Bangor 04401. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
MARY ALICE BRIDGES
GUILFORD AND BELMONT, Mary Alice Bridges, 95, died Jan. 3, 2000 at a Belfast nursing home. She was born May 28, 1904 in Guilford daughter of Timothy and Daisy (Kimball) Mayo Sr. She was the Valedictorian of the class of 1923 at Guilford High School. She worked for Hardwood Products Co. in Guilford and was a member of the JT Club in Sangerville. She was predeceased by her husband Murray Frank Bridges, a son Lawrence Bridges and a sister Florence Bridges.
She is survived by a Daughter, Dora Pinkham of Belmont; a brother, Timothy Mayo Jr. of Farmington; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at the Sangerville Village cemetery in the spring. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.
GEORGIA V. ROBICHAUD
DEXTER, Georgia V. Robichaud, 93, died Jan. 3, 2000 at a Dexter Health Care facility, was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Albert D. Robichaud. She was born Feb. 17, 1906 in Medford, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of Allen and Elizabeth (Lennon) O'Neil. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter and a member of St. Anne’s Sodality. She was a member of the Dexter Women’s Literary Club. She worked as a cook at Plummer Memorial Hospital for several years and was a well known seamstress in the Dexter area.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Phillip and Charlene Robichaud of Hampden and Mark Robichaud and Susan Abel of Dexter; three daughters Lorraine Gilbert of Dexter, Mary and her husband Dr. William Mitchell of Uniontown, Penn. and Laura Fontanarosa of Franklin, Mass; 22 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

CLIFTON J. FIELD
DEXTER - Clifton J. Field, 75, died Jan. 3, 2000, at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 9, 1924, at Dexter, the son of Fayette and Idella (La Blanche) Field. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was a self-employed mechanic and owned and operated a wrecker and towing service in Dexter for many years, retiring in the early 1970's.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anna of Dexter; two sons, Harold of New Vineyard, and Eugene of West Hempstead, N.Y.; two daughters, Germaine Bouchard of Oakland, and Maryetta Buzzell of Dexter. He was predeceased by a sister, Germaine Field.
Private family committal services will be held in the spring at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
MARGUERITE H. BENNETT
GUILFORD, Marguerite H. Bennett, 81, died March 8, 2000 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born June 6, 1918 in Guilford, daughter of Raymond and Melissa (Johnson) Herring. She graduated from Guilford High School. In 1936 she married Thornton W. Bennett, who predeceased her in 1992. She worked for several years at Hayes Law Office and for the American Woolen Mill in Dover-Foxcroft. She worked for Guilford Trust Co. later known as Northeast Bank in Guilford until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the Guilford Center Baptist Church, Valley Grange, the Extension, Guilford Historical Society, Guilford Senior Citizens and was very active with the Guilford Memorial Library. For many years she volunteered at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Bill and Laurie Bennett of Guilford; two daughters and their husbands, Ruth and Robert Taylor of N. Monmouth and Marilyn and Richard Lockhart of Lamoine; six grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jim Herring of Millinocket and William Herring of Stafford Springs, CT; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Erma Priest.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM Monday, March 13, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home 21 Oak St., Guilford with Pastor David Lassell officiating. There will be an opportunity for friends to call at the funeral home for an hour before the service. CLIFFORD ALONZO STEVENS, JR.
CORINNA – Clifford Alonzo Stevens, Jr., 73, husband of Clara L. (Doherty) Stevens, died March 9, 2000 at a Pittsfield healthcare facility. He was born January 30, 1927 at Newport the son of Clifford and Louise (Hatch) Stevens, Sr. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was employed for many years at Fay & Scott Machine Shop in Dexter. He was also a self-employed woodsman. Kip enjoyed
hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and being with his family.
He was predeceased by a son, Gary Stevens. In addition to his wife of Corinna, he is survived by his step-mother, Beatrice Stevens of Exeter; 3 daughters, Judy Young of Corinna, Jeanne Garrison of Westbrook, and Doreen Shaw of Dexter; 4 half-sisters; 2 half-brothers; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. A spring burial and committal service will be held at Corinna Center cemetery with Rev. Edward Jaworski officiating. GEORGE MARTIN LUDDEN
DETROIT – George M. Ludden, 60, died Thursday, March 9, 2000 at a Bangor hospital. He was born January 25, 1940 at East Newport the son of Lloyd and Beulah (Stevenson) Ludden. He graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1958. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962 as an aircraft mechanic. He retired in 1988 from Dover Power and Light Company of Dover, Delaware as a lineman supervisor. He was an avid
hunter and fisherman, and was a fan of Winston Cup auto racing.
He is survived by his Mother, Beulah Ludden of Newport; his loving wife, Sandra (Brawn) Ludden of Detroit; Mother and father-in-law, Frank and Florence Brawn of Palmyra; 2 loving daughters, Kelley and husband Keith Teidman, Shelly and husband Craig Lambert, all of Dover, Delaware; 2 grandsons, Kyle and Korey Teidman of Dover, Delaware; 2 step sons, Barry Deering of Dexter and Christopher Higgins of Corinna; 1 brother, Frederick and wife Carole Ludden of Detroit; 1 sister Linda and husband Thomas Breitweg of Newport; 2 nephews, Gregory Ludden of Newport, and Jason Breitweg of Newport and Germany; 1 niece, Denise Savage of Lincoln. He was predeceased by his father Lloyd Ludden in 1988.
