JAMES EDWARD CRAWFORD
PLYMOUTH - James Edward Crawford, 67, died August 6, 1999 at his Ward Hill Road residence. He was born July 27, 1932 at Brewer the son of Douglas and Patricia (Babcock) Crawford. He retired in 1978 as a pipe fitter for Union Local #716. He was an avid
hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Louise (Hafford) Crawford of Plymouth; one son and his wife, Jeffery and Colleen Crawford of Detroit; 3 daughters, Louise and husband Michael Khale of Toledo, OH, Susan and husband Jeffrey Gordon of Bangor, and Joanna Crawford of Plymouth; 1 step-son, Michael St. Jean, Jr. of Plymouth; 1 step-daughter, Brandy St. Jean of Troy; 2 brothers, Michael and his wife Cindy Crawford of Allagash, William and his wife Katherine Crawford of Bangor; 1 sister, Elizabeth and Joseph Bush of Kennebunk; 2 grandchildren, Darrell Crawford of Detroit, and Kaitlyn St. Jean of Houlton. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elaine (Smith) Crawford, who died in 1977.
Private family services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sawyer Cemetery, Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses, in care of Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport 04953.
ROBERT P. MOUNTAIN
DEXTER - Robert P. Mountain, 63, died August 3, 1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born March 14, 1936 at Dover-Foxcroft the son of Eugene and Sarah (Moore) Mountain. Bob was a self-employed carpenter, doing business as R. P. Mountain & Sons.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Bailey) Woodard Mountain of Dexter; 2 sons, Darel Mountain of South Carolina, and Keith Woodard of Clinton; 3 daughters, Beverly Hartford of Indiana, Patty Wiehn and Carla Smith, both of Dexter; 3 brothers, Eugene "Red" Mountain of Dover-Foxcroft, James and Reginal Mountain, both of Dexter; 2 sisters, Marie Gilbert of Dexter and Donna Harkins of Florida; 9 grandchildren; and his special dog, Sandy. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Paula Mountain and Priscilla Worden.
Friends may call 7-9 P.M.Wednesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Thursday, August 5th. FLOYD O. BURLOCK
EXETER - Floyd O. Burlock , 64, died August 1, 1999 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born August 21, 1934 at Exeter, the son of Claude and Velma (Turner) Burlock. He graduated from Corinna Union Academy, served in the U. S. Army and was employed at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. He enjoyed
hunting, fishing and a good game of cards.
He is survived by a sister, Beverly Crowley of Meriden, CT; many good friends, including Lester Carrow of St. Albans and Rick Fournier of Bangor; a niece and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held 2 P.M. Friday, August 6, at the Crosby and Neal Funeral Chapel, Exeter Road, Corinna.
CHARLOTTE L. COOKSON
GUILFORD, Charlotte L. Cookson, 90, died August 2, 1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born October 3, 1908, in Guilford, daughter of James and Cora (Herring) Stevens, and was a descendent of Robert Herring one of the original settlers of Guilford. She was very active in local affairs including being the Past Noble Grand of the Rebecca's Golden Link Lodge, Past President of the Ladies Circle of the Universalist Church, Past President of the Woman's Club of Guilford, Past Regent of the D.A.R., Past President and Secretary of the United Methodist Women, Past President of the Guilford Historical Society, the first Past President of the Queens of Avalon, Past President of the Piscataquis Extension and a member of the Guilford Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two sons, David and his wife Jeanne Cookson of Guilford and James Cookson of Vermont; four grandchildren and their spouses, Cory and Kim Cookson and their children, Christina and Michael all of Ohio, Keith and Joanne Cookson of Vermont, Rachel and Sam Hutchins and their daughter, Morgan all of Dexter and Daniel and Melissa Cookson of Kentucky; two nieces and their spouses, Harmon and Jane Harvey of Hallowell and Marvin and Joan Paulin of Indiana.
At her request, there will be no public calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, at the Guilford United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Margaret "Dodie" Stowe officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery in Guilford. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, School St., Guilford, ME 04443.
ANNA A. DOUGLASS
GUILFORD AND MONSON, Anna A. Douglass, 89, died 10-02-1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born 09-21-1910 in Monson, daughter of Robert and Anna (Moore) Zimmerman. She attended Monson Academy class of 1927 and then attended Farmington Normal School. She had a band called Anna's Band from 1946 to 1958 and later played for other groups and functions for many years. She worked for many years at Moosehead Manufacturing in Monson. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sally and Peter Enman of Bangor and Sandra and David Mackin of Hampden; a brother and his wife Myron and Virginia Zimmerman of Monson; 3 sisters, Ruth Daisy of Millinocket, Shirley Farquhar of Proctorsville, VT and a sister Roberta Kallgren of N. Providence, RI; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a great great grandson, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Zimmerman, three sisters, Louise Brown, Mabel Marshal and Alice Mitchell, a daughter Maude Castonguay and 2 sons Clifford and Stephen.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Oak St., Guilford. Funeral will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the Monson Community Church with Pastor Daryl Witmer officiating. HAZEL L. GAGLIARDO
NEWPORT – Hazel L. Gagliardo, 88, of Durham Bridge Road, died October 5, 1999 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born March 4, 1911 at Toma, Wisconsin. She was employed at Banton Brothers Mill in Newport for 18 years. She was a member of the Newport Full Gospel Church and the North Newport Grange.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dominic "Nick" Gagliardo, a son Thomas and his wife Lois, a sister, Irene Williams, all of Newport; 2 grandsons, Paul of Newport, David and his wife Candy Of Spain; 2 great grand-daughters, Kelly and Carla; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visiting hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside Committal service at the family lot, North Newport Cemetery, 2 P.M. Friday, October 15th, with Rev. Carl Engstrom, Pastor of Newport Full Gospel Church officiating. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Newport Full Gospel Church Building Fund; P.O. Box 189; Newport 04953. PAMELA A. ESTABROOK
NEWPORT – Pamela Ann (Murray) Estabrook, 43, of 40 Water Street, Newport, died October 4, 1999 at Maine General Medical Center, Thayer Campus, after a 7 year battle with throat cancer. She was born January 27, 1956, in Waterville the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Stevens) Murray, Sr. of Newport. She was predeceased by her father, Raymond. She was also predeceased by her sister Jeanette, and her mother Mary, who Both passed away due to cancer. She had a love for many things, especially her Family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor, her practical jokes, her unique crafts, her devotion to her grandchildren, and her strong will to live. She had been employed at Dexter Shoe Company in Newport and also at Banton Brothers In Newport.
Survivors include her fiancé, Owen Tracy; 2 daughters, Mary Ann Holt and Husband Ryan, Dorothy Ann Leighton and husband Troy; grandchildren, Michael McGregor Holt and Troy Leighton, Jr.; special mother-in-law Arlene Tracy; brother Raymond Murray and wife Ethel, sister Faye Williams and husband Billy, sister Sandy Greenside and husband Freddy, brother Vernon Murray and wife Pat, brother David Murray, sister Donna Becker, sister Wanda Farmer and husband John, brother John Murray and wife Debbie; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Mid Maine General Medical Center for all their wonderful care and support during her long struggle. Private family visitation will be held 2-4 P.M. and public visiting hours 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Friday, October 8th, at Crosby and Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, with Rev. C. James Martel officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Newport.

Marvin K. Markwick
PALMYRA – Marvin K. Markwick, 82, died October 3, 1999 at his Gray Road residence. He was born October 8, 1916 at San Diego, California the son of Charles and Ada (Earl) Markwick. He graduated from San Diego High School and was employed By the San Diego Unified School District for 28 years. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a member of the San Diego Teacher's Union Employees Association #29, and had owned Katie's Carousel Shop in Palmyra.
Mr. Markwick was the great grandnephew of Josephine and Wyatt Earp. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth (Gold) Markwick of Kingman, Arizona; one daughter Sharon Cahill of Palmyra; 3 grandchildren, Brenda Glidden-Merryman of Laconia, NH, Marvin Glidden-Merryman of South Windham, and Bridget Glidden of Clinton.
A graveside committal service will be held 10 A.M. Friday, October 8th, at Palmyra Village Cemetery, with Rev. Ronald Parker officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.
LEON W. WILLIAMS, JR.
CORINNA – Leon Wentworth Williams, Jr., 42, died unexpectedly October 2, 1999 at his Dexter Road residence. He was born July 24, 1957 at Dexter the son of Leon and Jennie (Henderson) Williams, Sr. He graduated from Nokomis Regional High School, Class of 1975. At the time of his death he was proprietor of Leon Williams Well Drilling Company in Corinna. He was a member of the Maine Water Well Drillers Association. Leon was Past Master of Parian Lodge # 160, AF & AM Masonic Lodge of Corinna. He was Past High Priest of St. John's Chapter, Royal Arch, of Dexter. He was a member of Anah Temple Shrine, serving in the Anah Temple Arab Patrol.
He is survived by his mother of Corinna; a sister Leona and husband Ronald Paradis of Newport; 1 niece Amanda, and 1 nephew Justin. He was predeceased by his father, Leon W. Williams, Sr. who died in 1987.
Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, Exeter Road, Corinna, where Masonic Services will be conducted at 7 P.M. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Thursday, October 7th, at the funeral chapel with Rev. Timothy Hutchins, Pastor of Morses Corner Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Corinna Center Cemetery. CECILIA N. NOLL
GUILFORD, Cecilia N. Noll, 83, died peacefully Sept. 27, 1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born June 2, 1916 in Freeport, daughter of Adelbert and Bertha (Duplissie) Littlefield. She worked for Hardwood Products Co. in Guilford and later for Guilford Industries. She was a communicant of Holy Family Catholic Church in Sangerville and was active in the Catholic Ladies Club. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Fred Noll in 1989.
She is survived by five daughters and their husbands, Dorothy and Thomas Warren of Long Island, New York, Freda and Robert Taylor of Dexter, Mary and David Plourde of DoverFoxcroft, Jean and Wayne Howe of Clairmont, NH, and Elaine Cote of Coventry,CT; a son and his wife, Frederick and Patricia Noll of Guilford; seventeen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and a very special niece that she helped to raise, Doreen Strout of E. Corinth.
Private calling hours will be held at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Oak St., Guilford. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 AM Thursday at Holy Family with Fr. Paul Marquis officiating. Harold C. PAYNE
DEXTER - Harold C. Payne, 75, died Nov. 10, 1999, at the Veterans Hospital in Togas. He was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Etna, son of Irving and Evie (Tibbets) Payne. He received a purple heart while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. After the service he worked for Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Clukey) Payne of Dexter; three sons and their wives, Edward and Melody Payne of Dexter, Peter and Kathy Payne of Dexter and Andrew Payne of Sangerville; a brother, Royce Payne of Newport; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home in Dexter with Fr. George Beaudet officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
KATHERINE M. TERESKERZ
DEXTER – Katherine M. Tereskerz, 73, died November 10, 1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born November 29, 1925 at Fairfield the daughter of Clifford and Vina (Dyer) Crawford. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Fall River, Mass. She was a member of the Dexter Sunshine Club, the Widows Club, and Dexter Meals For ME. She was predeceased by her husband Norman, and 2 brothers Lauriston and Terrance Crawford.
She is survived by a son, Roy of South Carolina, and a daughter, Judy Reposa of Dexter; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
Friends may call 7-9 P.M. Friday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. A graveside committal will be held Monday at Veteran's Memorial Park, Middletown, RI.
MARY A. LABRIE
PALMYRA – Mary A. LaBrie, 81, died November 10, 1999 at a Pittsfield hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 24, 1917 at Oakfield the daughter of the late Charles E. Burpee and Maude (Batchelder) Burpee Martin. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pittsfield, and the church New Era Auxiliary. She was previously an active member of the H. G. Libby National Women's Relief Corps in Newport, and Sebasticook Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, Adriele LaBrie in 1981.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger V. and Patricia Pelkey, and grand-daughter Heather Anne Pelkey, all of Coventry, CT; her brother and sister-in-law, Merle and Evelyn Burpee of Oakfield; and her sister-in-law, Adaline Merrill of Dexter. She also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, nephews, and Great nieces and nephews.
There will be no public viewing or calling hours. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, November 13th, at the First Baptist Church of Pittsfield with Rev. William Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 111 South Main Street; Pittsfield 04967.
UNA B. LOVELY
NEWPORT, Una B. Lovely, 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Newport, following a long illness. She was born Oct. 18, 1907 in Ft. Fairfield, daughter of Rheuben and Bertha (Brown) Boulier. She attended schools in the county and had a great passion for gardening, flowers, birds. She loved to travel and enjoyed the changing of the seasons. She was a member of the Congregational Churches in Hermon and Newport. She was also a member of many clubs and organizations including Hermon and Newport Senior Citizens and the Carmel Guild.
She was predeceased by her husband Clarence H. Lovely, a daughter, Gayle Adams, and her long time friend, companion and aunt, Hattie Curless. She is survived by her three sons, Leslie J. Lovley, Duane Lovley and his wife Dorisann all of Newport and Merwyn Lovley and his wife Judy of Hermon; ten grandchildren, Linda Walsh and her husband Thomas, Gregory Lovley and his wife Debra, Scott Lovley and his wife Jeri, Denise McKinnon and her husband Mark, Matt Lovley and his wife Jill, Dana Lovley and his wife Kathy, Kympton Lovley and his wife Debbie, Wendy Colevecchio, Sonja Candage, Mark Adams and his wife Susan; several great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, Camden Walsh Varley and Erica Varley; two sisters, Lois Mildred Black of San Antonio, Texas and Ceneath Boulier of Lexington, Mass.; a sister in law, Dot Boulier of Hermon; loving companion of 4 years, Elaine Leavitt. She spent winters with her sons in Florida and will be remembered by her daughter in law Gail H. Lovley of Lake Worth, Florida.

MARY E. MOORE
GUILFORD, Mary E. Moore, 57, died November 02, 1999 at a Dexter Health Care facility. She was born on March 26, 1942 in N. Chatham, NH daughter of Dean and Evangeline (Dyer) Charles. She was a member of the Guilford Assembly of God Church and worked for many years in the Lord’s work.
She is survived by five sisters, Ruth Dyer of Abbot, Anita Buswell of Fryeburg, Doris Ela of Fryeburg, Norma DiPierro of S. Portland, Sadie Day of Guilford; a brother, George Charles of N. Fryeburg; many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Thursday at the Guilford Assembly of God Church with Rev. Joseph Gioia officiating. Graveside committal services will be held 11 AM Sat. at the Riverside cemetery in N. Fryeburg. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the Mayo Regional Hospital Ambulance Service, c/o Mayo Regional Hospital, W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.
