LILY HOPE WITHEE
STETSON - Lily Hope Withee, infant daughter of Michael and Tracy (Ronco) Withee died unexpectedly March 26, 1999.
In addition to her parents of Stetson, she is survived by her paternal grandparents, Terrance and Patricia Withee of Stetson; maternal grandparents, Dean and Jane Weeks of St. Albans, Michael and Debbie Ronco of Dexter; paternal great grandparents, Lloyd and Marjorie Collins of Exeter; maternal great grandmothers, Beatrice Richard and Rita Ronco, both of Dexter; 2 cousins, Ciera Handy of Stetson and Dylan Thibodeau of Tucson, AZ; as well as several loving aunts and uncles. The family would like to thank the staff at Dr. Parker Harris' office; as well as the nurses in the neonatal care unit of Eastern Maine Medical Center: Julie, Dawn, Danette and Diane; and our dear family and friends.
A graveside committal service will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, April 3rd, at Clark's Hill Cemetery, Stetson, with Pastor George Perkins of the First Baptist Church of Stetson officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.
PRISCILLA "NANA" ROBINSON
MONSON, Priscilla "Nana" Robinson, 92, widow of the late Leslie Robinson, died 03-26-1999 in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born 09-21-1906 in Monson daughter of William and Cora (Steward) Champion. She was a graduate of Monson Academy and Farmington State Normal School. She taught schools in Monson, Willimantic, Guilford and Abbot retiring in1972. She was active in Dawn of Hope Grange serving as organizing matron of the Juvenile Grange. Long time member of the Monson Baptist Church, now the Monson Community Church, serving as Sunday School Supt. and teacher for many years. Was a charter member of the Tisbury Manor Chapter, D.A.R. Recipient of the 1972 Outstanding Citizen of Piscataquis County Award. Enjoyed her life on the farm where she lived for over 90 years, raising animals, gardening, cooking, knitting, crocheting and corresponding with family and friends.
She is survived by 5 sons and their wives William and Frances Robinson of Whiting, Robert and Barbara Robinson of Monson, Blaine and Jeannine Robinson of Bridgton, Linwood and Mary Kalel of Whitinsville, MA, Peter and Noralee Raymond of Scarborough, a daughter and her husband Bernice and Philip Knight of Monson; a foster daughter and her husband Betty and Gregory Gubler of Laie, Hawaii; 15 grandchildren Brian and Sue Robinson, Vickie Busque and Kelly Coburn, Marcia and Ed Martin, Debbie and Roger Dellaire, Scott and Lisa Knight, David Kalel, Peter Knight, Tamera and Donald Patterson, Peter and Sarah Raymond, Shawn and Jennifer Raymond, Coralyn Knight and Robert Todd, Noralee, Daniel and Bradley Raymond and Ashley Kalel; 12 great grandchildren Danielle, Joseph, Patti, Heather, Carly, Nathan, Emily, Farren, Brittany, Leslie, Aaron and Kyle; three special "sisters" Thurley Knowles, Eloise Stevens and Kay Hanscome; two brothers in law, Norman and Eleanor Robinson of Bangor, Myron and Barbara Robinson of Guilford; two sisters in law Doris Robinson of Guilford and Velma Richardson of Sangerville; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Friends may call Sun 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Oak St., Guilford. Funeral will be held Mon 1PM at Monson Community Church with Pastor Daryl Witmer officiating. Spring burial will be in the Hillside cemetery in Monson. Family and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments in celebration of her life, in the Church dining room, following the service. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to Monson Public Library Children's Books Fund or to the Monson Community Church Christian Education Fund.
SIDNEY F. COLLINS
DEXTER - Sidney F. Collins, 85, died March 25, 1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born April 6, 1913 at Alton the son of Sidney A. and Annie (Kimball) Collins. Sidney was a native of Maine, who lived life in his own way. As a young man, he was a boxer, building contractor, and chief of a New York Fire Department. He retired to Dexter in 1974, where he owned a back hoe business.
He will be loved and missed by his children, Patricia, Wayne and Janet, all of Florida, and Carolyn of New York. He is also survived by a brother Clifford H. Collins of Dexter, and sisters, Susan Collins of Connecticut and Annie Mae Collins of Florida.
Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Monday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Tuesday with Rev. Jo Bennett officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot, Corinthian Cemetery, East Corinth.
J. WINIFRED TREFETHEN
DEXTER J. Winifred Trefethen, age 82, died on Thursday March 25, 1999 at a Dexter Health Care facility. She was born on October 06, 1916, in Flint, Michigan, daughter of Samuel and Avis (Blake) Ellis. She worked as a nurse at the Plummer Memorial Hospital in Dexter for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dexter and served as their organist for over 20 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Lyston Trefethen. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Norma and Bishara Karram of El Cajon, CA. and Lonna and Charles Seguin of Bangor, 5 grandchildren, Andrew Seguin of , NY, Timothy Seguin of Bangor, Tuhan Karram, Rebeah Karram and Reham Karram, all of California; two brothers and their wives S. Blake and Edna Ellis of So. Portland and Dean and Lorraine Ellis of New Hampshire.
Graveside services will be held later in the spring at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter. In lieu of flowers donation in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

S. MILTON BUGBEE
DEXTER, S. Milton Bugbee, 80, died 03-21-1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born 04-29-1918 in Dexter, son of Shirley and Mabelle (Jewett) Bugbee. He was a graduate of the University of Maine and served in the Army during WWII. For most of his life he worked in Boston, Mass., returning to Maine in 1998.
He is survived by two sisters Vella Price of Dexter and Mary and her husband William Linz of Bangor; a brother Wallace Bugbee of Dexter; several nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

JOHN Y. SCRUTON
CAMBRIDGE, John Y. Scruton, 82, died 03-20-1999 at a Waterville Hospital. He was born 10-18-1916 in Lewiston son of John and Lena (Stevens) Scruton.
He is survived by a daughter and her husband Lynda and John Gunther of Cambridge; a sister Janet Tinson of Auburn; a niece Brenda Tinson of Auburn; his loving companion Elizabeth Jones of Bailey Island.
Funeral services will be held Mon 1 PM at the Cambridge Baptist Church with Pastor John Johnston officiating. Spring burial will be in the Cambridge Memorial Garden.

LAWRENCE FRANCIS MADORE
Parkman & Old Town - Larry Madore, Loving husband of Cornelia Madore , died March 19, 1999 in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born in Old Town on June 18, 1930 the son of Adelord and Doris (Kitchen) Madore. He was an Oil Burner Man in the Old Town area for many years.He was an avid Fisherman and Hunter. He was a musician and band leader of the country band” The Country Rockers”.
He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, one daughter, Sandra Ellis of Parkman, one granddaughter, Shirley Ellis of Guilford, Two great grandsons, Travis and Tyler Ellis, Two sisters, Shirley Morin of Ellsworth and Elaine Rideout of Glenburn, Three brothers, Delores and Kenneth Madore of Old Town , and Donald Madore of Bucksport, Many nieces and nephews and their families. He will be missed by special friends, Linwood and Louise Corson, Robert and Roberta Chadburn, and “Ralph” .
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held 2 PM march 23, 1999 at the Good Will Riders Snowmobile Club Hall in Hampden. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Larry may be made to a charity of ones choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Pine State Cremation Service.
HAZEL B. EMERSON
CORINNA Hazel L. (Brown) Emerson, 86, beloved and loving wife of Jerome A. Emerson, surrounded by loved ones, unexpectedly went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 19, 1999 at East Pasco Medical Center, Zephyrhills, Florida. She was born October 28, 1912 in Dyer Brook, Maine, the daughter of Richard C. and Geneva (Friel) Brown. When she was 9 years of age, the family moved to Corinna where she would make her home for the balance of her life. She attended Morse’s Corner School and graduated from Corinna Union Academy, class of 1931. She was a member of the Corinna United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for 23 1/2 years and was a past president of the Women’s Society of Christian Service. She was a past matron of Corinne Chapter O. E. S. and past member of Twilight Grange of Corinna. At one time she was active in the Penobscot County Extension Association. She was a loving, caring person whose main goal in life was being a devoted wife and mother, serving her extended family and close friends. She was a partner and help-mate to her husband at times caring for their affairs in order that he might be involved in other agricultural or government activities. She was a down-to-earth person, loved natural things--her house plants, flowers, birds, any cute little animals. She gave freely of herself to help others and was very appreciative of any efforts to help her. There can not be enough written on her behalf.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 62 years, is her daughter Jacqueline A. Emerson of Corinna, two sisters Ethel Hamlin of Etna and Grace Smart of Newport, a nephew James P. Emerson and wife Susan J. and their children Heather L. Kerstetter and Timothy James Emerson, niece Carleen E. Davis and children James D., Suanne M., Ryan G., Daniel S. II (Dusty), Terri Lee Murray and husband James (Butch) and their daughters Shana Anderson and Michelle Murray, Allen Emerson, his wife Sandra, sons Brandon and Kyle, also a brother-in-law Kenneth R. and his wife Charlene B. Emerson and many close friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Percy Brown and a sister, Hilda Brown.
The time for a memorial service will announced at a later date by the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Exeter Road, Corinna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Corinna Ambulance Service.
WAYNE D. RABIDEAU
DEXTER, Wayne D. Rabideau, 57, died 03-18-1999 at the Veterans Hospital in Togas after a long battle with cancer. He was born 10-09-1941 in Dover-Foxcroft, son of Anthony and Eva (Arsenault) Rabideau. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Europe. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing.
He is survived by 2 sisters and their husbands Patricia and John Prescott of Key Largo, Florida and Gail and Norman Levesque of Alaska; a brother and his wife, Roger and Pauline Rabideau of Medway; many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter with Rev. Antonio Amato officiating. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter.

DIANA M. GARDINER
CORINNA, Diana M. Gardiner, 57, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, March 16, 1999, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 3, 1942 in Dexter daughter of Leon and Edith (Blethen) LaRochelle. A loving wife and mother, she always put her family first. She worked for 13 years for the Dexter Regional Federal Credit Union in Dexter. She was a member of the first Free Baptist Church in Dexter and in her leisure time, enjoyed camping and photography.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Gardiner of Corinna; three daughters and their husbands, Lori and Brian Gardiner of Machias, Barbara and David Pepin of Newport and Tracy and Dwayne Hogan of Brewer; 4 sisters and their husbands Janice and Fred Jones of St. Albans, Linda and John Wilbur of Dexter, Marilyn LaRochelle of Bangor and Elaine and Ivan Cayford of Hartland; two grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Whitney Hogan and Kyle Pepin; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Brianna Gardiner.

MINNIE LEE GARTLEY
BEAVER COVE - Minnie Lee Gartley, 82, died 03-13-1999 at a Greenville hospital. She was born 08-09-1916 in Mayfield, Kentucky, daughter of Markham and Minnie (Jones) Ligon. After graduating from Murray State College, Minnie Lee's teaching career was interrupted by her service as one of the first officers in the WAC's during WWII. In 1942 she married Gerry Gartley. Since 1945, they owned and operated Beaver Creek Camps on Moosehead Lake. She taught at Greenville High School, Monson Academy and later in Dunedin, Florida. Always interested and active in politics, Minnie Lee was successful in drawing national attention to the POW issue during the Vietnam War. She was also very active in promoting improvements to mental health services in Maine.
She is survived by 2 sons and their wives Markham and Marcia Gartley of Westbrook and James and Linda Gartley of Bangor; 4 grandchildren Jennifer, Marilyn, Christine and Markham all of South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, March 20, at the Union Evangelical Church-UCC in Greenville with Rev. Ethelind Holt officiating. Spring burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Veteran's Vietnam Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 6, Greenville, Jct., ME 04442.

LOUISE ALICE (KEMP) MUTLOW
PALMYRA & NORTH FORT MYERS, FLORIDA - Louise Alice (Kemp) Mutlow, 84, died March 11, 1999 at The Woodlands in Waterville. She was born August 17, 1914 at Middletown, NY, the daughter of Leon and Floria (Pratt) Creesy. She was the widow of Hobart H. Kemp, who died in 1978, and of Raymond L. Mutlow, who died in 1996. She was a communicant of the Episcopal Church and was a member of the John Alden Society.
She is survived by her children, Louise L. Colburn of South Harpswell, Charlene A. Kemp of Brattleboro, Vermont, and Hobart H. Kemp, Jr. of Palmyra; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Friday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, March 13th, at St. Marks Episcopal Church, Eustis Parkway, Waterville, with Rev. Ellen Shaver officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton, Mass.
