Robert Lockard

On September 14, James Peter Murray, son of Leanne R. Bernier and R. Scott Murray, was welcomed into the family.
His maternal grandparents are James and Laurie Bernier, of Raymond, and his paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Garrett and the late J. P. Murray, of New Jersey and Florida.
His maternal great-grandparents are Patricia Lockard and the late Robert Lockard, of Gray.
Mr. Lockard passed away after a one-month struggle with cancer, just 27 hours after James was born.
Daily, Mr. Lockard would ask, "Has Leanne had the baby yet?"
He died at home with his family by his side.
Mr. Lockard was born in Brunswick on January 4, 1937, the son of Eben and Florence Agnes Richie Lockard.
He moved to Gray as a teenager and later married Patricia Carr, of Gray.
He enjoyed traveling, yachting and outdoor recreation of all types, including
hunting
and camping.
In 1988, he and Patsy and his sister Mary and her husband Robert motored a yacht from Florida to Maine.
He was always full of adventure and loved being social.
In July, he hosted a wonderful family party in honor of his recently-discovered half-sister Phyllis McCartney, of Chinook, Montana.
Mr. Lockard was a charter member of the Gray Jaycees.
He owned and operated Lockard's Collision Center at Allen's Corner in Portland for over 40 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son Robert Mark Lockard, of Gray, and his brother, Robert Kohaly, of Ontario, Canada
.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurie, and her husband, James Bernier, of Raymond; his former wife, Patricia Carr Lockard, of Gray; his brother, Eugene Hedley Lockard and his wife Mary, of Lindsay, Ontario; three sisters, Mary Berry, of Gray, Josephine Bisco, of Windham, and Phyllis McCartney, of Chinook. He was loved by his five grandchildren, Rachel and Leanne Bernier, Mark and Rory Lockard and Matthew Bernell, as well as three great-grandchildren.
At his request, there will be no service.

Frances Quint Lowe

Mrs. Frances Quint Lowe, age 88, who was a long-time resident of Rockland, Maine, passed away July 17 in Houston, Texas, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Frances was born December 29, 1916 in Portland, Maine, the first-born child of Archie and Mildred Quint, who spent summers at their camp on Crystal Lake in Gray, Maine.
The camp is now owned by their grandson, Alan Carter.
Frances was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Arlene Carter, brother Lloyd, and nephew Buddy Quint.
She graduated from Deering High School, Colby College, and the Maine Medical Center School of Medical Technology.
She worked as a Medical Technologist in Portland and at the Knox Hospital in Rockland, Maine.
She leaves to cherish many memories, her love of 63 years, John Lowe, Jr.
She is also survived by her daughter and husband, Janet and Richard Ross of Houston; son and wife, John Lowe III and Barbara of Westminster, CO; grandchildren Chris Ross and wife, Anna, Houston; Cynthia Schaefer and husband, Tim, Pearland, Texas; and Cory Lowe of Pound Ridge, New York. She will also be fondly remembered by Ernesto Herbach (AFS student) and family of Santiago, Chile, and many loving family members and friends throughout Maine and around the country.
Frances will be traveling home to Maine for the last time in October.
A celebration of her life will be held October 15, 2005 at 2 P.M. at The Ridge Church, 7 Church Street, Tenants Harbor.
J. Kenneth Lincoln Sr.

J. Kenneth Lincoln Sr., 83, of Richmond, died Tuesday, January 31 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Born in Wiscasset on September 10, 1922, he was a son of George S. II and Josephine T. (Jones) Lincoln.
Mr. Lincoln attended Wiscasset schools and graduated from Wiscasset Academy.
He was employed at Bath Iron Works as a pipefitter and entered the United States Army serving as a staff sergeant during World War II.
He was employed at Lincoln's Motor Express with his Dad in Wiscasset and from 1949 to 1956 he was a partner with KenRo Chevrolet Dealership in Damariscotta.
From 1956 to 1962 he was then employed with Mobil Oil Company In 1988 he retired after 20 years of service in the United States Postal Service as a rural route carrier
Mr. Lincoln was a member of the Owl's Head Transportation Museum, the American Legion in Wiscasset, the Order of the Odd Fellows in Round Pond, the Tuesday Club, the Wiscasset School Board and a reservist for the Maine State Police.
He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, classic automobiles, family gatherings and tending to his country home and gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Dodge Lincoln of Richmond; two sons, J. Kenneth Lincoln, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Newcastle and George S. Lincoln III and his wife Patti of Camden; one daughter, Emelyn L. Kappler and her husband, Harry of Barter's Island; one stepson, Stephen D. Reed of Wiscasset; his former wife, Frederica R. Lincoln of Wiscasset; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Saturday, February 4 at the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset.
Burial will be at Alna cemetery in Alna in the spring.

Barbara A. J. Logiadis

Barbara Ann Jones Logiadis passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, December 20, 2005.
She was born in 1929 in Boothbay Harbor and attended Boothbay Harbor Elementary School.
Later she moved to New York City with her mother Ethel Jones, where she continued her education; graduated from Hunter college and pursued a career in the medical profession.
Mrs. Logiadis and her family lived in Yonkers, New York, and also enjoyed spending time in their home in Greece.
She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Joyce; and brother, Robert Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Minas Logiadis; son Emmanuel and his wife Susan and grandson Alexander; and one sister, Elizabeth Matheson.
A service celebrating her life was held Thursday, December 29 in Connecticut.
Frederick Loring passes away

Frederick Hodsdon Loring, 87, of Gray, died February 28.
He was born in Pownal, the son of Roy and Florence Hodsdon Loring, and attended Pennell Institute.
He graduated from North Yarmouth Academy in 1936.
On his first job of delivering grain, he met his wife of 43 years, Barbara Helen Fitts, of Stetson.
Freddy was known as a strong man who held 100-pound bags of grain on each shoulder.
He had a great love of gardening, woodworking, cooking and maintaining his home of 58 years.
He was known as the camera man at Cole Farms' Corner Seat, taking pictures at the counter.
In 1982, Mr. Loring retired from Crosby Laughlin after 40 years of dedicated quality-control service.
His post-retirement job included working at Cole Farms making ice cream and Cole Farms Dressings.
He also served on the School Board for several years.
Fred was very fond of his two Maine Coon Cats.
He was predeceased by his wife; his sister, Margaret Small; and two grandsons, Frederick Loring Liberty and Tony Wesley Richardson.
He is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth and her husband L. Robert Adams, of Gray, Sandra and her husband Arthur Richardson, of Windham, Sheila and her husband Richard Hodgkin, of New Gloucester, and Linda Liberty, of New Gloucester; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Road, Gray, and a celebration of Fred's life was held at the funeral home.
Meredith Delasandro and Timothy Richardson officiated.
