Richard Gray

Richard L. C. Gray, 85, of Gray, died Thursday evening at his home on the Beaver Cove Road following a long illness.
Mr. Gray was born in Portland on August 7, 1918, the son of Lucian and Ella Perkins Gray.
He was a graduate of Deering High School and the Gray Business College.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He had worked his entire working career as a financial advisor.
He retired in 1992 from Maine Mall Motors in South Portland; previously, he had worked for CIT Finance Company, Willco Finance and the former Sun Savings and Eagle Bank.
He was an avid
hunter and a diehard Red Sox and Patriots fan.
He is survived by his wife, V. Donna (Martin) Gray, whom he married on June 12, 1958.
Also surviving are two sons, Christopher D. Gray, of Gray, and Alan L. Gray, of Portland; two daughters, Sue Taylor, of Yarmouth, and Deborah McInnis, of Merrimac, NH.
There are also six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A son, Marvin Gray, died previously.
There will be no formal funeral service at this time, but a service in celebration of his life will be held later in the summer.
Arrangements are under the guidance of Independent Death Care of Maine, Portland.
Constance B. Gray

Constance B. Gray, 97, passed away Saturday, June 19, at her residence in Boothbay Harbor.
Born in Malden, Mass. on January 18, 1907, she was a daughter of Elmer and Adelaide Keens Beaudry.
She grew up in Connecticut, and attended Hunter College in New York where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
She worked at Hunter College in the Night Registration Department for many years.
After marrying her husband Maurice in 1953, she retired from Hunter College in New York and moved to Maine and resided in Southport.
Mrs. Gray enjoyed her bridge groups, music group, loved to play the piano, and was a wonderful hostess to all. She worked as a volunteer for many years.
Much of her time was spent cooking at the St. Andrews Hospital Auxiliary.
She was awarded a 1000-hour pin for her dedicated service.
Mrs. Gray is predeceased by her husband, Maurice P. Gray
Survivors include two nieces, Marilyn Spinney, and Evelyn Sherman both of Southport.
A funeral Service will held Thursday, June 24 at 2 p.m. at the Simmons Harrington & Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay
Arrangements are entrusted to Simmons Harrington & Hall Funeral Home in Boothbay.
Elaine J. Greenleaf

Elaine J. Greenleaf, 89, of Trevett, died Saturday, October 11, at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta after a brief illness.
She was the widow of Emery N. Greenleaf, who died in 1987.
Born November 23, 1913 in Hoboken, New Jersey, she was a daughter of Robert and Elsa Nissen Jaeger, and attended schools in New York.
Mrs. Greenleaf was a homemaker for her family, and for 14 years was a letter carrier on Barter's Island.
She attended the Barter's Island Baptist Church, was a life member and Past Matron of the Crescent Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Boothbay, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Besides her husband, she is predeceased by a daughter Gladys Pinkham, who died in 1972.
Survivors include a son Stuart E. Greenleaf of Trevett; three daughters, Carol Rose and her husband Robert of Newcastle, Sara Thompson and her husband Wayne of Los Osos, Calif., and Priscilla Harrison and her husband Myrl of Sun City West, Ariz., 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many great-great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law Carroll Greenleaf and his wife Alta, of Trevett.
Visiting hours were held Wednesday, October 15 from the Simmons Harrington and Hall Funeral Home in Boothbay, with a Star Service.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 16 at the Ocean View cemetery in Boothbay, with Rev. William Greenwood officiating.
Alice J. Gregoire

Alice Jewett Gregoire, 97, of Head Tide, died Tuesday, October 26 at Country Manor in Coopers Mills.
Born in Alna on February 2, 1907, she was the daughter of Glen and Lydia (Keene) Jewett.
She grew up at Head Tide, attended schools in Alna and graduated from Lincoln Academy.
She attended Coburn Classical Institute and graduated from Colby College in 1929 with degrees in English and foreign language.
In 1936 she married Victor Gregoire.
She received her Master's degree in education from the University of Maine in 1961 and taught in many schools in Maine.
After more than 30 years of teaching she retired and returned to Head Tide.
She was a member of the Shakespeare Club in Alna, Friends of the Old Head Tide Church and the Maine Teachers Association.
Mrs. Gregoire enjoyed gardening, traveling and rug hooking.
Survivors include two daughters, Naomi Nelson and her husband Weldon of Winchester, Mass., and Joan Gregoire of Nobleboro; one sister-in-law, Louise Jewett of Alna; one brother-in-law, Turner Gregoire of Wiscasset; and one granddaughter, Janice Nelson.
She was predeceased by one brother, Allen Jewett; and one sister-in-law, Winona Gregoire.
Burial is at the Alna Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Old Head Tide Church in Alna.

Kenard Griffin, Sr.

Kenard Griffin, Sr., 47, a resident of New Gloucester, passed away on July 24 at Central Maine Medical Center.
Born on July 19, 1957, he was a son of Vernard and Berta Stevens Griffin.
Ken enjoyed racing, helping his family and spending time with his daughter, Jasmine.
He worked at Whited Ford and Will Stone Excavation.
Mr. Griffin was predeceased by his father, mother and sister Nancy.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Griffin; two sons, Jason and Kenard II; three daughters, Elizabeth, Jessie and Jasmine; four grandchildren, Lily, Joshua, Emma and Olivia; eight brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
A period of remembrance and tribute was held on Tuesday at Wilson Funeral Home.
Arrangements were under the care of Wilson Funeral Home, Gray.
Helen M. Gross

Helen M. Gross, 96, a longtime resident of Wiscasset, died Monday, August 18 at Maple Haven Boarding Home in Wiscasset.
Born in Fairfield on January 22, 1907, she was the daughter of Frank A. and Mattie B. (Foss) Wilson.
In 1924 she graduated from Eastern Maine Conference Seminary.
On September 25, 1926, she married Ralph L. Gross and in 1936 they moved to Wiscasset.
Mrs. Gross became a member of the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset in 1974 where she was active in the Organ Society, a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Wiscasset, the Wiscasset Garden Club and she volunteered at the C. E. I., the Old Jail and Museum and the Library all in Wiscasset.
She enjoyed music, playing the organ, gardening and crafts.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph L. Gross Sr. on May 15, 1985, one brother, Arthur Wilson, two sisters, Dorothy Ross and Hilda Sawyer.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph L. Gross Jr. and his wife Thelma of Barefoot Bay, Fla., and Stuart I. Gross and his wife Jeannette of Leeds; five daughters, Rita A. Melville of Woolwich, Helen G. Amazeen of Redlevel, Ala., Jane A. Albert and her husband Robert of Edgecomb, Jean G. West and her husband Ronald of Newcastle and Donna L. Lester and her husband Michael of Portland; one brother, John Wilson and his wife Ola of Bucks-port; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great- grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 22 at the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset with Rev. John P. Potter officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery in Wiscasset.

Raymond Guyon, Jr.

Raymond Guyon, Jr. of Bay Landing, Boothbay Harbor, died November 8, 2004.
He was born July 3, 1929 in South Hadley, Massachusetts.
Surviving are two daughters, Arlene and Pattie, as well as several grandchildren and great-grand-children.
He was pre-decreased by two sons, Larry and Joseph.
Mr. Guyon had worked as a painter and a restaurant worker since moving to the Boothbay Region; he had been a resident of Bay Landing since April of 2002.
Mr. Guyon was known as a man of great faith who was kind and generous.
He took great joy from his "three angels," Darlene Little, Marlene Ross and Priscilla Summit.
Services are planned November 16 at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial cemetery in Augusta, and a memorial service is planned at a later date at Bay Landing.
