Mary 'Jane' Dumont

Berwick- Mary “Jane” Dumont, 81 years, of Berwick Street died Saturday, November 25 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford. She was born February 11, 1925 in Biddeford, ME, a daughter of Francis and Delia Turmell Champagne.
Jane was married to Edmund Dumont on April 14, 1951. They celebrated 55 loving years together until his death in October of this year.
Jane worked most of her adult life in area shoe shops, but it was her last 9 years of working at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH that Jane really found her calling. Jane enjoyed people and the work at the hospital allowed her to do what she liked best, meeting and caring for people.
Jane was a very upbeat person who enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved caring for her family and was especially devoted to her son Steven. Jane also had a great fondness for animals.
Predeceasing Jane are her husband Edmund, and her sisters Yevonne Sevigney in 1965 and Anna Lambert in 1986.
Surviving Jane are her son Steven Dumont; nephew Robert Lambert; and nieces Priscilla Tsoukalas, Dot Michaud, and Joan Harris.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 1 at 11 AM at Mt. Calvary cemetery in Somersworth, NH.

Mary Bates Mendoza

Mary Bates Mendoza, 97, of Quequechan Street, died Wednesday evening, October 4, 2006 at Kennebunk Nursing and Rehabilitation in Kennebunk, ME. She was born in Fall River on August 21, 1909, a daughter of Frank and Rose (DePola) Mendillo. She attended Fall River schools through the high school level.
Her first husband was James Bates. He died in the 1960’s. She then married William Mendoza. He died in June 1967.
In her working years, Mary was a blind stitch operator in the Fall River mills. She retired in 1978.
Mary was a lifelong communicant of Immaculate Conception Parish.
She was a former member of the Garment Worker’s Union. She was also president of the Bishop Edes Apartment complex.
She thoroughly enjoyed cooking.
In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by one sister and three brothers.
Survivors include:

At the time of her death, she was awaiting the birth of her third great grandchild.
There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eldridge Road, Wells, ME. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River, MA. Arrangements under the direction of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME. 04090.

Mary Elizabeth Drown

Mary Elizabeth Drown, 90, of Middle Street, died early Monday morning, September 18, 2006 at the Wardwell Home for the Aging. She was born in Methuen, MA on February 23, 1916, the daughter of James William and Mary Elizabeth (Miller) Robinson. She was educated in Methuen and Lawrence schools.
On August 18, 1934, she married George H. Smith in Massachusetts. He died in 1981. On January 10, 1988, she married her second husband, Dorance Drown. He died in 1998.
Mary was retired from the Internal Revenue Service where she served as a tax examiner.
When living in Massachusetts, she was a member of the Methuen Chapter of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching “Jeopardy.”
In addition to her two husbands, Mary was also predeceased by her son: John G. Smith in 2001.

Visiting hours will be from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME. During the visiting hour, an Eastern Star service will take place.
A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Route 1, Kennebunk.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.

Mary Ann Fitzpatrick, 61 years died Sunday evening at her residence in Greenwell Springs ,LA. She was the widow of Paul W. Fitzpatrick, Jr. formerly of Kennebunk, Maine. She joins her late husband in the heavenly kingdom our Lord has prepared for us.
Mary was born in Bath, Maine on July 21, 1945 a daughter of William H. and Dorothy L. Buckley Wyman. She attended Portland Schools and graduated from Portland High School. She was employed fort several years at Morningstar Corp. in Kennebunk, ME.
For the past 30 years she lived in Louisiana and was a Secretary at the Wal-Mart store in Baton Rouge, LA for over 23 years. Her family and especially her grandchildren were the love of her life.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick was pre-deceased by her husband Paul, a Brother Thomas Wyman, a stepson, Patrick Fitzpatrick and a stepdaughter Kathleen Daughtry.
She is survived by one son, Jason Fitzpatrick and his wife Kathleen, two daughters: Patti Freeman and her husband James and Pamela Fitzpatrick all of Baton Rouge, LA; Five grandchildren: Megan Noland, Lauren Noland, Lindsey Noland, Mary(Katie) Freeman, and Maya Trahan all of Louisiana; two brothers: John Wyman of Biddeford and Donald Wyman of South Portland; four sisters: Harriet Harmon of Portland, Carolyn Sutton of Portland, Linda Nadeau of Old Orchard Beach, and Dorothy Thompson of Lincoln Center; a step-son: Paul Fitzpatrick Jr. of Saco; a step-daughter: Kelley Archer of Saco; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St. in Kennebunk, ME on Thursday, October 26th from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, Oct. 27th at the Chapel with the Reverend James King officiating. Interment in Forest City Cemetery, South Portland.

Kennebunkport- Mary Victoria Convery, 68 years, of Skyline Drive, formerly of Arlington, MA died Sunday September 3, at the Kennebunk Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility following a long illness.
Mary was born in Cambridge, MA on July 11, 1938 the daughter of John and Margaret (Pickett) Dwyer. She graduated from St. John’s High School in North Cambridge, MA in 1956. On September 14, 1963 she married Robert Convery. She and Bob were to have three children that became the focus of her life with the joy they brought.
Faith and family were paramount in Mary’s life. She enjoyed any reason to get together. She was also an avid reader.
Her three brothers Edward, Joseph, and John Dwyer predecease Mary.
Mary is survived by her husband Bob Convery; sons James Joseph Convery and his wife Karen of New Jersey and Michael Robert Convery of Cambridge, MA; daughter Christine Marie Thompson and her husband Carlton of Beverly, MA; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Wednesday September 6 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday September 7 at 10 AM at St. Martha’s Church in Kennebunk. Interment will follow that afternoon in Holy Cross cemetery in Malden, MA.

Michael L. Keenan 55 years a resident of Crescent Street, Biddeford died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at his home.
He was born in Cornwall, New York on May 3, 1951 a son of Thomas and Margaret Shiner Keenan and attended Beacon High School, Beacon, New York.
He was an auto mechanic for several years.
He enjoyed spending time with his son and his friends.
Michael was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by his son Ryan Keenan of Biddeford, ME., a brother Kevin Keenan of Poughkeepsie, NY and two sisters Sharon Turner of Elizaville, NY and Candace Bentivegna of Beacon, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 1 to 2 PM Friday at the Bibber Memorial Chapel 67 Summer Street Kennebunk, ME where a funeral services will be following at 2PM at the Chapel.
Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, West Kennebunk, ME.

Mildred Elizabeth Cowman Steele, 91, of State Street, Portland, ME died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at St. Andre’s Healthcare Facility in Biddeford, ME.
She was born in Highland, Ohio on July 22, 1915, the daughter of Fred O. and Sarah Patton Cowman and was educated in Wilmington schools, graduating from Wilmington High School.
Mrs. Steele has been a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Portland, ME for the past 5 years and formerly a 50 year member of the 1st Baptist Church in Birmingham, Michigan.
Mildred was predeceased by a brother Lowell Cowman Jr. and a sister Margery Williams.
Surviving are: 1 daughter: Rev. Phyllis A. Chaffe and her husband Donald of Cape Porpoise, ME; 1 son: William E. Steele Jr. and his wife Darlene of Goose Creek, SC; 1 brother: Fred O. Cowman Jr. of Wilmington, OH; 3 grandchildren: Jessica Henry of Boston, MA, William Edward Steele III of Goose Creek, SC, and Tracy Hunsucker of Charleston, SC.
Visiting hours will be Friday, October 20, 2006 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust Street, Wilmington, OH 45177.
A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery in Wilmington, OH.
