Kennebunk- Lois Mae McCarthy, 81 years, of Farragut Way, died Wednesday May 10 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Lois was born September 19, 1924 in Canonsburg, PA a daughter of Lloyd and Caroline Rossell. She graduated from Trinity High School in Pennsylvania and went on to complete two years of secretarial school.
Lois was very active in the Kennebunk Senior Center where she enjoyed playing bridge. She was also an avid golfer and enjoyed playing into her late seventies. She was a very independent woman who enjoyed living in Kennebunk.
Lois loved spending time with her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren. She celebrated the birth of her first great grandson just nine months ago. She also enjoyed gardening and baking.
Lois is survived by her daughter Sharon and her husband Mario Alosco of Wilmington, MA; son Stephen Martin of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren Louis J. Alosco, Daniel M. Alosco, Jessica M. Alosco, and Jennifer Gadd; and great grandson Mario Jacob Alosco.
A memorial service will be held Monday May 15 at 2 PM at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME with Reverend Janet Leighninger officiating. Interment will follow in Hope cemetery in Kennebunk.

Lois Waterhouse Kinney, 94 years, a resident of Kennebunk died peacefully Wednesday January 17, 2007 at her home with both of her daughters by her side. born on July 10, 1912 in her family home on Portland Road in Kennebunk, Lois was the first daughter of Homer T. and Bessie M. (Harmon) Waterhouse.
Lois graduated as class valedictorian from Kennebunk High School, after which she continued her education at Mount Holyoke College, graduating summa cum laude in 1934 with a major in mathematics. She was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Lois worked at Aetna Life Insurance Company in Hartford, CT where she met and later married Asa Foster Kinney. They were married for 54 years and raised two daughters and numerous cats and dogs in Belmont Massachusetts until 1970 when they retired to Maine.
Lois was predeceased by her husband, Asa, in 1993; her brother, Homer Waterhouse, in 2003; and, her sister, Dr. Christine Waterhouse (Raines) in 2004.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Kinney Sherman and her husband Robert of Fort Worth, TX and Deborah Jean Kinney of Goose Rocks Beach, Kennebunkport, ME; her two grandchildren, Jeffery Foster Sherman and Jonathan Clifford Sherman; and, four great grandchildren, Emily Rose, Joseph Robert, Benjamin James and Jacob Robert Sherman; and two nieces, Dr. Kristen Raines Jones and Merilee Raines Snow.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday January 23, 2007 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, Maine. Internment will be in Hope cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, P O Box 7004, Cape Porpoise, Maine 04014 or the Animal Welfare Society, P O Box 43, West Kennebunk, Maine 04094 in Lois Kinney’s memory.
Loretta E. Bouffard

Loretta E. Bouffard, 98 years, of Eldridge Road, Wells, died Saturday, November 11 at the Newton Center for Rehabilitation in Sanford, ME.
Loretta was born on August 18, 1908 in Marlborough, MA a daughter of Louis and Emma Boule Bouffard. She graduated from St. Ann’s Academy in Marlborough. She did bookkeeping and secretarial work for Metropolitan Life Insurance for 40 years. She retired August 1, 1969.
After retirement, Loretta, moved to Wells, Maine where she was a communicant and a member of Sodality at St. Mary’s Church. Loretta loved people and adored her friends. Her energy and zest for life was contagious.
She is survived by her brother in law, Arthur E. Chapdelaine of Wells.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Wells, ME on Tuesday, November 14 at 1 PM with Father Tom Murphy. Interment will follow at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Marlborough, MA.
Lynn Rae Sidbury

Lynn Rae Sidbury, 44, died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, NH from a severe head injury following an automobile accident. She was born in Portland, Maine.
At the age of 8, she moved to Gray, ME with her family. She graduated from Gray New Gloucester High School in 1980. She loved playing softball and loved to draw. She also loved to travel. For a few years, she lived in Louisiana and also lived in California where she drew caricatures for passersby on the Santa Monica pier. Afterwards, she lived in North Conway, NH where she stayed for the remainder of her life. She touched so many people while on her journey through this life.
She was predeceased by her mom, Ann A. Henry.
Lynn is survived by her dad, James T. Sidbury of North Carolina; her step-dad, Charles Henry of Lincoln, ME; her five brothers: Jim Sidbury of N. Conway, NH; Micky Sidbury of Schertz, TX; Chip Henry of Auburn, ME; Chucky Henry of Lewiston, ME; and Raymond Henry of Auburn, ME. She will also be truly missed by her granddad, Frank Ray Moulton of Kennebunkport, her two cousins Dawn and John, and her niece and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held in Arundel Cemetery, Kennebunkport.
Mae I. Daigle

Mae I. Daigle, 84, former teacher, of Moody, Maine passed away peacefully on December 24, 2006, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with heart disease.
Mae was born in Irasburg, Vermont in 1922, the daughter of Wilfred and Ila Messier. She graduated from Lyndon State College in 1941, with a degree in teaching. She was a third grade teacher in Gilman, Vermont.
In 1946 Mae met and married A. Robert Daigle of Jefferson New Hampshire. Mae and Bob made their home in Gorham, New Hampshire and she continued her teaching career as a beloved third grade teacher in Berlin, New Hampshire.
During this time, Mae gave birth to her only child, Scott Robert Daigle. In 1985 Mae & Bob moved to Moody Maine where friends and neighbors have fond memories of her famous 3 to 4 mile walks around the neighborhood.
Mae especially loved to travel near and far with her husband Bob. Trips took her to China, Australia, New Zealand, Greece, Norway, Sweden, Africa-Egypt, Denmark, and all over the USA.
Mae is survived by her beloved husband, Bob Daigle, her son Scott Daigle and grandson Daren Daigle of North Conway New Hampshire, in addition to her sisters Patience Candy of Montpelier Vermont, and Betsy Slavin of Florida. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her sister, Josephine Hart of St. Johnsbury Vermont predeceased her.
During Mae’s long battle she met and befriended many healthcare professionals in both of the medical facilities in which she was in. At the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, the entire team in the cardiac care unit took wonderful care of Mae, as did the team at the New England Rehabilitation Center of Maine Medical Center. The cardiac team at Maine Medical Center also treated Mae like the very special person she was. All of her family wishes to thank these warm and caring individuals for the special care given to Mae and her entire family.
At Mae’s request there will be no services or calling hours. In the spring, Mae’s ashes will be spread off the shore of Drakes Island Beach where everyone is welcome to walk and revel in your fond memories of Mae.

Margaret Ball Richardson

Margaret B. Richardson, 94, devoted wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully May 2, 2006 at Huntington Common ending a long a happy life.
She was born Dec. 23, 1911 in Clinton, Mass., to Marguerite and Josiah Stickney. She graduated from Clinton High School and attended Worcester Art Museum School.
She founded and ran The Bookstall in Clinton for many years.
Margie was married for 57 years to the late Edward C. Richardson. They enjoyed winters in St. Croix and travelling the world together.
Margie will be remembered by her many friends for her generosity of spirit and zest for life.
She is survived by her daughter Sally Richardson of New York City; her grandson Christopher Stern of New York City; and her niece Charlotte Follansbee of Lancaster, Mass.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Huntington Common and Beacon Hospice for their outstanding care.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Margaret C. Wormwood

Margaret C. Wormwood, 90 years, a resident of Hillcrest Drive, Kennebunk died Thursday, Jan. 11 2007 at the Southridge Living Center in Biddeford, ME after a long illness.
Margaret was born in Bangor, Maine, Feb. 29, 1916 a daughter of David and Beatrice Shannon Tremblay.
She graduated from Kennebunk High School Class of 1935. She then became employed at New England Electric Company in Westborough, MA for over fifteen years.
She was an active communicant of St Martha’s Church serving as Accountant for several years, a member of the Women’s Guild of the Church, serving as President and member of the board. She volunteered her time at the Kennebunk Nursing Home with weekly prayers and rosary prayers for many years. Margaret was also active with the Kennebunk Public Health Council working on Blood Drive’s for the Red Cross and the Council. Many of these drives were held at St. Martha’s.
She was married to the late Charles M Wormwood who died in 1985. She is also predeceased by four brothers Norman Tremblay, Lawrence Tremblay, Albert Tremblay and Phillip Tremblay and two sisters, Gertrude E. Hutchins and Elizabeth Moore.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ivan “Peggy” Cole of Kennebunk; one sister, Mrs. George (Harriet) McKenney of Kennebunk and Scottsdale, AZ; and one granddaughter, Allison Cole of Kennebunk.
The family wishes to thank the Southridge Living Center for their exceptional care and compassion during these last few months of Margaret’s life with us.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at St. Martha’s Church, Portland Road, Kennebunk with Interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Kennebunk.

Marguerite Schneider

Marguerite L. Schneider 98 years a former resident of Haley’s Woods Kennebunk, ME formerly of Newtonville, Walpole and Medfied, MA Monday December 11, 2006 at the St Andre’s Health Care Facility in Biddeford after a long illness.
She was born in Finland on January 19, 1908 a daughter of Louis and Louise (Bader) Ley.
She was a homemaker for many years. She belonged to the Copley Society of Boston since 1957.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert Schneider.
Her daughter Marguerite Jablonski of Kennebunk, Maine and a son Robert Schneider of Andover, MA., 7 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren survive her.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Thursday December 14th, 2006 at the Blessed Sacrament Parish Church, Ten Diamond Street Walpole, MA.
Interment will be in Newton Cemetery, Newton, MA.

Maria Snyder

Mrs. John F. (Maria) Snyder died peacefully in her home in Moody on December 15, 2006 after a brief illness. Her daughter, Deborah, was by her side. She was 95.
Born on February 20, 1911 in New York City, Maria was the third eldest of eleven children born to Antonia and Giustino Sallusto from Naples, Italy.
She moved to the Borough Park section of Brooklyn as a young child and lived there until moving with her husband, John, who she met while working at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., to the southern Westchester County town of Eastchester, NY.
Mother to Deborah and her older son Kirtland, Maria was active in her local parish of I.H.M. where she enjoyed arranging flowers for the altar, volunteering with the Veronica’s Guild and being a den mother for her childrens’ Brownie and Cub Scout troops.
She also loved traveling, a good party with interesting people and her circle of friends was wide and diverse. A career woman long before it became fashionable, Maria held positions at the Scarsdale Medical Group, Pension Designs Inc., The Henry Depee Agency of Guardian Life, The Bank of New York and for fourteen years as secretary to former Scarsdale dentist, Dr. Richard C. Salerno before retiring at the age of eighty-two. She then moved to Maine with her daughter.
In addition to her children, Maria is survived by her grandson, Micah Snyder of Amherst, MA; two sisters, Helen and Blanche; and two brothers, Eugene and Edward.
In the spring, Maria’s ashes will be interred next to her husband at Mt. Calvary cemetery in White Plains, NY.
