Forrest Wayne Horne, 87, of Huntington Common Drive, died on Sunday at Kennebunk Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Sanford on February 14, 1918, a son of Angelo Jose and Charlotte Elizabeth (Linnell) Horne.
On March 22, 1947, he married Edith Bradbury in Sanford.
Forrest was employed as a tool room mechanic at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of the VFW, and enjoyed gardening, fishing,
hunting, and cooking.
He was pre-deceased by 4 brothers: Otis, Clements, Langdon, and Roland Horne; 3 sisters: Isabelle, Arlene, and Doris Horne.
Survivors include:his wife of 58 years, of West Kennebunk, 2 sons:
Kenneth Wayne Horne Sr. of Kennebunk
and Terry Wayne Horne of Kennebunk
1 daughter: Virginia Lynne Ricker of Kennebunk,
his twin sister, Virginia Valentine Wallace of Florida

Calling hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk.
The funeral will be on Thursday at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.

Florence M. Estes

Florence Morrill Estes, 80, of Old Route 4, died Sunday at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Berwick on June 15, 1925, a daughter of the late Charles O. and Bessie E. (Farrington) Morrill.
On August 2, 1972, she married Forrest N. Estes.
Florence was a telephone operator for New England Telephone, retiring in 1977. She enjoyed her family, being on the farm with her husband, gardening, the beach, and spending winters in Florida.
She was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Betsy Sue Brown, a sister, Vivian E. (Morrill) Hussey, and a brother, Vinton F. Morrill.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, at Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel, 36 Rochester St., Berwick, where a funeral will be held on Friday morning, 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Les Petit officiating.
Burial will be private.

Gerard J. Pepin

Gerard J. Pepin, 83, a resident of Cat Mousam Road, Kennebunk died on Monday evening, April 10, 2006 at RiverRidge in Kennebunk after a brief illness.
Gerard was born in St. Norbert, Canada on October 2, 1922, the son of Rudolph and Lydia (Voyer) Pepin.
He attended Sanford schools.
Gerard served in the United States Navy during WWII in the 82nd Seabees.
He was a partner with his brother in R. Pepin and Sons, Inc.
He was a member of St. Martha’s Church in Kennebunk.
He was predeceased by his wife Rita (Roger) Pepin in 2000; two brothers, Bertrand and Roger Pepin; and his sister, Carmen Dolbec.
He is survived by his three daughters, Irene Pepin of Kennebunk, Janet Perry of Dover, NH, and Yvonne Stolp of Greer, SC; one brother, Sylvio Pepin; and two sisters, Marie Ange Caron and Gertrude Berthiaume, all of Sanford. He is also survived by six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Monday, April 17 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, in Kennebunk
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at 11 AM at St. Martha’s Church, 34 Portland Road, Kennebunk.
Interment will be in St. Ignatius cemetery in Sanford.

Gertrude G. Strickland

Westbrook - Gertrude G. Strickland, 78, formerly of Pennell Street, Westbrook, died April 10 at the Seaside Nursing and Retirement Center in Portland.
Gertrude was born February 25, 1928 in Newark, NJ a daughter of Gustave and Gertrude Langan Cook. Her family moved to Maine while she was an infant. She graduated from Gorham High School. After marrying Frank Lloyd Strickland in 1970, they moved to Connecticut. New England Telephone and Southern New England Telephone employed her.
Gertrude was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Westbrook Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling, art, and singing.
Her husband Frank predeceased Gertrude in 1978.
She is survived by her stepson, Stephen Strickland; step-daughter, Brenda Fox; brother, Robert Cook, Sr. and his wife Barbara; step-grandchildren Fred, Tiffany, Kellie-Anne, and Stacy; and nieces and nephews, Catherine Cook, Karen Cook, and Robert Cook, II.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 14, 2006 at Ocean View cemetery in Wells with Father Joseph Ford officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Gladys Mae Bryant

Gladys Mae Bryant, 85, of Athens died April 14 at Readington Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan.
Gladys was born April 27, 1920 in Kennebunk, ME a daughter of Hartland and Daisy Wildes Hutchins.
She was a past member of Rebekahs. Gladys enjoyed spending time with her family.
Gladys’ husband, Victor M. Bryant, predeceased her.
Gladys is survived by her son Ray Bryant of West Stewartstown, NH; daughters Alice Williamson of Kingfield, ME and Joanne Watts of Harmony, ME; brothers Lester Hutchins of West Kennebunk, Ralph Hutchins of West Kennebunk, Robert Hutchins of Colorado, and Kenneth Hutchins of West Kennebunk; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. only on Tuesday April 18 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME, where at 7:00 p.m., a Rebekah Service will be conducted.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday April 19 at 12:00 noon at the Kennebunk Baptist Church on Main Street in Kennebunk with Pastor Tim Hutchins officiating.
Interment will follow in Pine Grove cemetery in West Kennebunk.
Harold Kenneth Main, Sr.

Wells - Harold Kenneth Main, SR., 83 years, of Sunset Ridge, Wells, ME, died Monday December 19 at Varney Crossing Nursing Home in North Berwick following a long illness.
Harold was born in Eliot, ME on May 19, 1922, the son of Jefferson and Fannie Goodwin Main. After graduating high school, Harold enlisted in the Army during WWII. He served in Germany and was serving in Africa when he was wounded by rifle fire.
Harold was a member of the Naval Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Kittery, Maine.
Harold enjoyed
hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family.
His brothers Norman and Roger predecease Harold.
Surviving Harold are his wife Helen Plaisted Main; sons Harold Kenneth Main, Jr and Arron Main; stepson Paul Hallam; brother Gordon Main, and 5 grandchildren.
At the request of the family, services will be private.
Helen Ainswor

Helen W. Ainsworth, age 96, of Fletcher Street, died Saturday afternoon at York Hospital.
She was born in Shrewsbury, VT on December 15, 1909 the daughter of the late David and Emily (Williams) Wetherby. She was the widow of George Kenneth Ainsworth.
Helen attended grammar school in Shrewsbury, VT and graduated from Wallingsford High School, Wallingsford, VT.
She was employed as a Design Engineer of the air brakes division of the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) of Schenectady, NY for thirty years. When the plant closed, she moved to Montreal, Canada where she was employed at the Montreal Locomotive Company for three years. Upon retirement in 1972, she moved to Kennebunk and lived with her longtime friend, Rachel Lockerby.
She enjoyed reading, playing golf and knitting for her family and friends. She also knit for the Kennebunk Museum, The Old Timers’ Shop of Sanford and the Head Start Program.
She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth, two brothers; Barney and Bert Wetherby and two sisters; Mary Collins and Minnie Wetherby.
She is survived by five grandchildren, Gail A. Krutka of Weldell, MA, Tim Ainsworth of Council Bluffs, IA, June A Ring of Lincoln, NE, Brenda A Depp of Royal, AK and David Ainsworth of Stafford, MO. Also surviving are 8 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held in Vermont at a later date.
Arrangements are by Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk.
